From: Erin T*** *** Sent: Tuesday, January 30, 4:PM To: *** Subject: RE: *** *** *** *** ***, This correspondence is regarding your letter dated 1/22/on behalf of *** ***. I
apologize for the late response; I never received an email notifying me of the issue in December After investigating *** *** concerns and in speaking with the Service Manager, Mark N***, we respectfully ask that *** *** please call to schedule an appointment. We have placed an order for a new Technology Unit and will replace her existing one Again, apologies for the late response. I am not sure why I was not initially notified; perhaps we can double back together to find the glitch

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I have emailed Harte Infinity in accordance with their request and have not received a response. week. Emailed pertinent documents to Revdex.com on 041916. Documents were also sent to Harte on 041416. No thru offer of resolution has been made. Continue to be concerned with Harte tactics when I complied with their request for direct contact and they have ignored me
Sincerely,
*** ***

Ms*** brought her vehicle into Harte Infiniti on 7/23/with an initial concern about a noise while driving At the time, we documented multiple issues She took care of the sway bar link and rear axle repairs during that visit
On 8/4/she returned complaining of
a noise from the rear of her vehicleUpon inspection it was found that she had aftermarket repairs performed at another location and the work was performed incorrectly We installed the proper hardware and greased and cleaned all brake components- at no charge We saw Ms*** again on 8/24/ She expressed concern about a clicking/dragging noise when applying brakesit was documented that aftermarket brake pads had been installed on the vehicle and were causing the noise On 9/17/Ms*** *eturned to replace rear brake padsrotors and hardware to correct the noise
On 12/1/15- Ms*** *eturned complaining again of a noise at slower speeds We performed inspection and found a new left wheel bearing had been installed and whoever installed it used the wrong bolts; allowing the rear bearing to make contact with the rear brake caliper bracket We also found a hub peened over and impact marks that were dug into the rotor from the installation of the aftermarket wheel bearing We cleaned the hub and rotor and installed the proper bolts into the proper locations We heard no further noise during test drive Ms*** was not charged for this eitherThe last time we saw Ms*** *as in February to perform an oil change and tire rotation She did not report any concerns at that timeHarte Infiniti has worked very diligently to assist Ms*** with her vehicle concerns We feel that we have gone above and beyond to help her We are more that happy to schedule a time for Ms*** to come back into the service department so we can diagnose what might be happening now

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: The following statements are untrue:The vehicle was brought to Harte on ay 4, At No point after 3/3./was Any oil added to the vehicleWe also reject Harte's Statement that hey reported "Facts" to ***We have attached a Statement of facts submitted *** *** Service, My agent in this matter, a certified *** *** Automobile Technician. This is an accurate and factual report of what exactly transpired. It is our contention that this failure was due to a timing chain malfunction known to *** engines which falls within their Power Train warrantee as acknowledged by Infiniti Customer service. It also should be noted that at NO time did any warning light come on prior to the autos failureHarte's contention that the Oil Pressure light is no sensitive to oil level is not supported by basic fluid mechanics
Sincerely,
*** ***

Thank you for providing the documentation I will have the cancellation processed today, backdated to January as per *** *** request.Thank you,Erin T***

Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because:some of imformation is I was charged on every I addition accept the last timeline I came in to see mark the manager and I waited for my vehicle in the waiting roomThis final time is not mentioned and there're is no record beachside I spoke directly to manager regarding my concernI did not recie paperwork on this visit as wellthe vehicle is making the same exact noise there is no new problem it was never corrected and I was guarenteed by the manager that doing my rear breaks and rotors would correct this and also was told I have a warranty for themHonesty would be appreciated and corrective action I just wanted the sound alleviated and it still exist and I was guarenteed rectification by mark the manager

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I do not know where I am to submit letter stating loan is paid off, I do not know what mileage was months ago although could have been provided if request had been processed in January when initial request was made. Do have current mileage although this appears to be another stall tactic as the purpose of the need for mileage is unclear to me. I have calculated what I believe to be money owed and would need their calculations before I would consider this complaint resolved
Sincerely,
*** ***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because, as documented by *** ***, the oil and coolant levels in the car were after the car died and at the time of delivery to Harte. Harte's response included several mis-statements and inaccurate conclusions: -The engine light was not on at the time of the failure nor when the car was delivered to Harte; -The car had sufficient oil immediately prior to delivery to Harte; -Harte intimates that Infiniti (the manufacturer) makes the warranty decision. I called Infiniti regarding this and was told that the manufacturer relies on the Dealer's decision and does NO independent assessment; and -Harte's Work Order has an open date of 5/01/despite the fact that the car was not delivered to Harte until 5/04/15.It is much more likely that the failure was caused by timing chain and camshaft actuator problems known to occur in later model *** (Infiniti) engines. This car has had all recommended interval oil changes using Infiniti oil purchased from Harte. The car has never required any additional oil between oil changes nor were there any apparent oil leaks prior to this incident. There was no oil under the car when it was picked up by *** and there was sufficient oil in the car (per a dip stick check) when the car was in the care of *** ***.I have attached a document from *** *** as well as the Harte Infiniti Work Order No*** for your review
Sincerely,
*** ***

We met with *** *** today. We refunded her the $deductible and kept her vehicle with us to do the following repairs: Refinish wheel bumper, Refinish Left Front wheel and Clean overspray
Thank you,

Mr***i had a Lube, Oil, Filter change and a radiator replacement completed at Harte Infiniti on the 9th. He returned to the dealership on the 12th with the complaint that his key remote wasn't working. At that time, we reviewed his key at no charge to him and determined
that the issue was not with the key, but rather something in his vehicle that was not reading the remote properly. We offered to perform an in-depth diagnosis on his vehicle to pinpoint his issue; which Mr*** declined.
We are more than wiling to run a full diagnosis of his concerns for him. However, since these concerns are not typically associated with the work performed on the 9th (LOF & Radiator) he would be responsible for our standard diagnostic fee

Mr*** *** *** did experience issues with ecm pins
An engineer from Infiniti corporate flew out to the dealership to personally diagnose the vehicleHe confirmed and fixed the ecm pin issue
The engineer from Infiniti, as well as a Harte Infiniti master technician, extensively
road tested this vehicle after the repair and they are confident that the concerns are no longer present
Infiniti corporate has denied Mr*** request for re-purchase as they are confident that their technician resolved the vehicle concern
At this time, Harte Infiniti is asking that Mr*** return to the dealership to pick up his vehicle and we are currently working with him to get this addressed today
Harte Infiniti has done everything in our power to resolve this issue and we feel that we have accomplished that goalWhile we are disappointed that we were not able to completely satisfy Mr***, Infiniti has determined that this vehicle is repaired; therefore we stand behind that determination
Should Mr*** wish to discuss bringing in a neutral professional engineer, he would need to make those arrangements directly with the manufacturer as those decisions are not in our control

From: Erin T[redacted] Sent: Tuesday, February 06, 2018 5:13 PM To: [redacted] Subject: [redacted]   [redacted],   This correspondence is regarding the complaint submitted by [redacted] regarding her interactions with...

Harte INFINITI of Hartford.   We were given authorization to complete a flush; as the fluid in her vehicle was dark and dirty.  We had no way of knowing that [redacted] had completed any repair; however, the condition of the fluid would suggest that the repairs performed were not comparable to the repairs that we completed.   That being said we value customer satisfaction and we are happy to reimburse [redacted] for the repair in the interest of good will.   I will have our office process the check in the morning.   Sincerely, Erin T[redacted]

Mr. [redacted] brought his vehicle in to Harte Infiniti with the engine light on. His car had excessive low oil, the filter was leaking, the drain plug was found to be over tightened and was leaking and the undercarriage of his vehicle was coated in oil. The engine issue was found to be caused by a...

faulty oil change performed by an independent mechanic (we have not seen Mr. [redacted] car since 8/21/2012).
Infiniti's warranty policy is to cover any defects in parts or workmanship. They will not approve coverage on poor oil changes.
Unfortunately, we are not authorized to supersede Infiniti's policy on what is covered under warranty. Mr. [redacted] may want to discuss this matter with the facility that performed his last oil change; as they might be wiling to assist with the expense of the repair.

[redacted] unfortunately had a large amount of damage ($13,000) on his vehicle.  Harte Collision Center completed this work in just about 4 weeks; which is quite fast when you take into account the amount of work that needed repair.  There are several moving parts when completing work of...

this magnitude including parts availability, working with insurance, etc.  We are a Certified Infiniti Collision Center and take great pride in the workmanship we put out.  While we completely understand [redacted] frustration, we finished his vehicle as efficiently as possible and it is my understanding that he will be picking his car up today.

The last time we saw Ms. [redacted] was in February 2016 for an oil change.  At that time, she did not express any concerns pertaining to noise.  We are more than happy to schedule an appointment for her to come into the dealership for further diagnostics.

Mr. [redacted] vehicle was brought in to us on 5/1, as we opened the RO and documentation on that date. The vehicle was driven into our dealership with the cam sensor unplugged because it would not drive here any other way. Our understanding is that the car was towed to the other garage, oil was added, and it was driven to Harte Infiniti.
The vehicle was absolutely in the condition as described on that attached work order. The inspection found oil covering the entire undercarriage and the aftermarket filter was found to be loose, the drain plug was drastically over tightened and no oil was showing on the dipstick.
As an agent of Infiniti we are required to report the facts to the manufacturer; they make the determination based on our observations.
Harte Infiniti stands by our observations and inspection.
Please find our documentation attached.

Harte Infiniti is more than happy to process the cancellation for [redacted].  Unfortunately we do not have the documentation necessary to complete this request at this time.  Please ask [redacted] to submit proof of payoff and mileage at time of cancellation  so that I can get this...

request completed.
I apologize for any inconvenience [redacted] may have experienced during this process.  She can reach out to me directly- [redacted].
Thank you,
Erin T[redacted]
Director of Communications
Harte Auto Group

Harte Infiniti is confident in our position on what transpired with Mr. [redacted] vehicle. It was brought into our facility with a significant oil leak, most likely caused by a faulty oil change. The vehicle had excessive low oil, the filter was leaking, the drain plug was found to be over tightened and was leaking and the undercarriage of his vehicle was coated in oil. Based on our diagnosis, this repair is not covered under the Infiniti warranty as they cover defects in parts or workmanship, not issues with oil changes. As we have not seen his vehicle since 2012, we really no have "pony in the race" so to speak; we gain nothing by not performing warranty work should the warranty work be warranted. We certainly respect Mr. [redacted] position should he choose to involve the [redacted], as suggested by Mr. [redacted] of [redacted] Service and Mr. [redacted] long time mechanic.

Thank you for providing the documentation.  I will have the cancellation processed today, backdated to January as per [redacted] request.
Thank you,Erin T[redacted]
