Worse experience of my life with HFD. I have signed up with Smile Direct in March. HFD with drew $250 from my account for the initial deposit. After that the monthly fund would be withdrawn from my account of $80 for 24 months. My aligners with Smile direct did not go as planned with them so I called them within the 30 days I have received the aligners to let them know I was not satisfied. They told me to ship back the aligners and would reimburse me back everything. I had also called HFD just like smile direct as ask me to do to do a stop payment for the month of May. After Smile direct received my aligners and called them back to make sure they have received my aligners. Now they are telling me I owe them money. I had to go and write a review about what I had already gone through with smile direct about my refund. So smile direct corporate emailed me and I had to explain everything to them. They told me they would refund everything that was taking out back to me. After a couple of week of dealing with corporate at smile direct they refunded my initial deposit which is $250. In June 7th, I got another charge from HFD for $70.26 and had to call Smile direct back and see why they are still having HFD charge me after I already cancelled with them in May. She said she would look into it. I explained to her also that I did not received refund HDF took in April 5th for the amount of $79.86. So I called HFD and apparent ally they did not have record of cancelling my account with them. So HFD withdrew money from my account without prior authorization. So going back in forth with Smile direct corporate and HFD; Smile direct finally was able to have HFD to give me back my refund from April and June on 6/25. After two weeks of the refund from HFD, they are harassing me with calls for about a week now on how I needed to refund them back the amount otherwise they will turn it to collection. Now I'm having to deal with Smile direct to see what is going on that HFD is harassing me with these calls and threating me about turning in my own money they refund me back to collection. KELLY WAS THE PERSON WHO IS MAKING THESE CALLS TO ME FROM HFD. If I could not rate this company with any stars I would not do it. TRY TO AVOID HFD AND SMILE DIRECT IF YOU CAN. THEY WILL TRY TO RIP YOU OFF!

I have been fighting with them do to a breach of the contract made by them. An I have also removed there Authorization to charge my debit card or bank account. They are now changing in saying that I need to send them a letter in writing removing the authorization when it says nothing in the contract about having to send a letter. So now they’ve gone and charge my debit card again without authorization.

If I could I give them 0 stars. This company is a complete scam. Every month my payment is due on the 15th, which is when I get paid. Every month I get charged a $25 late fee, when there is money in my account. I call them every month on the day to tell them to process my card again because I have the money. Every time they tell me they still have to charge me a late fee, even though it’s on the day that it’s due. As I see from other reviews I’m not the only one with this issue. This company is worthless.

My due dates are on the 26th of every month. The credit card on file had been compromised and I had to change the cc on file. I did that on the due date and because I didnt change the info they charged me a $25 penalty charge for making my payment on my due date. I called and they said because the credit card on file was not updated (even though I called to make a payment on the due date) I was being penalized. This company is crappy and I would never do business with them ever again.

Charging random $25 fees every month saying I’m past due when they charge my account for the proper amount every single month! What the hell kind of company is this. I want my money back they are total frauds!

I received a notice dated February 4, 2019 stain I have 10 days from the date of the letter to call or make a payment. I called and was told the account was sent to collections on February 5, 2019. What kind of business says you have 10 days and the next day send your account to collections?

It appears that the timing of this consumer's mailed notice was caused by a bug in our internal system. The issue has been addressed. Unfortunately, the consumer was advised of his past due balance several times previously and remained delinquent for the 120 day delinquency period before being sent to an outside agency for collections.

I'd like to report a terrible experience that ended up costing me hours of time and effort, and ultimately forcing me to pay off my account faster than I could afford.
I had an account with Healthcare Finance Direct that linked to my payment plan with Smile Direct Club, the invisible aligners modeled after Invisalign, but marketed as a cheaper, more accessible option. I had direct $80 per month auto-debit payments set up through my debit card and as far as I knew they were all going through. Then, I suddenly received a letter from the debt collections agency AmerAssist stating that my account had been 3 months past due so it was sent for collections. It turns out they were attempting to debit from the wrong card, not the one I had selected online to use for auto-debit. I never received any calls, emails or letters from the original company letting me know the payments weren't going through. If I had, it would have been simple to let them know which card they should have been using (even though the correct card was selected on their website the whole time, someone never updated it on the billing end). It makes no sense to me that a company wouldn't try to reach out and let me know my payments weren't going through, before sending it for debt collection. It could have been such an easy thing to deal with had they communicated with me, and we'd all be on track and happy. Instead I was forced to decide between having my credit score damaged, or paying more than 3x the amount of my original monthly payments until the account was paid in full (which is all the debt collections company was willing to offer me in the end).
I reached out to Healthcare FInance Direct as well as Smile Direct Club asking to recall my account from collection and pay off the amount that was late, and continue with the payment plan on schedule. The employees I spoke with were very unhelpful and simply told me there was nothing they could do. WHen I asked AmerAssist for a payment plan I was told I had to pay the full amount or else pay $280 per month until it was paid off. These were more than 3x the payments I was supposed to be making each month, and this caused serious financial stress for me as I budget very carefully. AmerAssist told me it was a choice on the part of Healthcare Finance Direct not to offer me a reasonable payment plan. I have had nothing but negative, cold, unwavering customer services on all ends, for something that appears to have been an error on the part of Healthcare Finance Direct and Smile Direct Club.
It seems like bad communication, outreach, and customer service that could easily be avoided had these companies tried at all to reach me, their customer, and sort things out first.

I just paid my balance in full so as to never need to deal with this company again. They use aggressive fee tactics as a business model. I get hundreds of emails a day, and, missed one saying my card had expired ($65 fee!). If you have any other option for financing, take it.

I purchased tooth aligners via SmileDirectClub and they sent my monthly finance charges through this company. My initial payment of $250 was put on my credit card which was completed on April 19th. On that same day, I was told that all payments would be put onto this same card. I called smiledirectclub immediately and gave them my bank debit card, which they updated on my profile account through their website. On April 20th I received my contract from Healthcare Finance Direct which showed my correct payment (my debit card). Apparently they tried to take my payment from my initial credit card and it was declined so they charged me a $25 fee. I immediately called and they argued with me. They said, "we will have to verify with smiledirectclub that you updated your payment in order to refund you." I replied, "Clearly it was updated because YOU sent me a contract with the correct payment form on it." They didn't care, so I waited for them to do their "investigating" and called back 2 months later since I realized they hadn't refunded the charge. I spoke with a superviser who was completely unprofessional and absolutely foul. She said, "it is too bad, you signed a contract and you were late." I tried to remind her that my contract has the correct card and then she went as far as to say, "we sent you a new contract in May with the credit card and it was your reponsibility to take care of it." WHAT?!? I am confused. AGAIN, I signed the initial contract making the change to my debit card for all future monthly payments and received a copy via email so.....how did my old card (the initial payment) get back into the system?!? Umm...YOUR mistake. Luckily, Daniel, supervisor at smiledirectclub got the same unprofessional and foul response from this Healthcare FInance supervisor and he credited my account. So...I would love to do a fraud claim against this Healthcare Finance Direct. I wonder how many other clients have been scamed out of small debits that they may not have noticed.
