We booked a newborn photo session with Heidi Joy Photography*** was not the photographer; an assistant came to take the photosThe photographer was professional and pleasant to work with but, unfortunately, did not take very good photosWe got a few very nice ones, but most of them were quite poorFor some reason, the photographer kept taking pictures directly in front of open windowsMaybe that works if you set your camera correctly? But, even amateurs know that taking pictures of people with their backs to windows do not usually turn out wellLastly, we were supposed to receive the photos within a week of the shoot, and it took several times that long and multiple phone calls to get the photosI cannot say I would recommend this business when there are so many other options out there

Choosing Heidi Joy Photography was one of the best decisions I've made so far in planning my wedding! She has been so easy to work with, accommodating and willing to do whatever it takes to make my vision and ideas come to lifeI couldn't have been any happier with the way our engagement pictures turned out and I am so excited to work with Heidi on our wedding day!

I have yet to receive check #[redacted]. It has been eight days since Heidi Joy’s response; she only lives a couple towns over so it should have come within two days. This is the same issue I have had with her since the very day after my wedding. She never follows through with what she says and makes excuses when she doesn’t. The same thing happened with my wedding album, she stated it was sent in the mail but was lost. I do not accept this response because her response was an empty statement.

The photographer was professional and pleasant to work with but, unfortunately, did not take very good photos. We got a few very nice ones, but most of them were quite poor. For some reason, the photographer kept taking pictures directly in front of open windows. Maybe that works if you set your camera correctly? But, even amateurs know that taking pictures of people with their backs to windows do not usually turn out well.
Lastly, we were supposed to receive the photos within a week of the shoot, and it took several times that long and multiple phone calls to get the photos. I cannot say I would recommend this business when there are so many other options out there.

We couldn't be happier with the quality of the photographs. She managed to capture some very sweet moments and has a real knack for taking natural pictures. This is a keepsake we'll always have. Review: My complaint type falls under several types of issues: advertising, customer service, contract and delivery; On 9/14/2014 my daughter went on [redacted] and purchased a coupon for $49 entitling service to [redacted] Joy Photography. Service included a 8x10, wallet and an electronic album. I contacted [redacted] and schedule an appointment to have my daughter's senior pictures taken. Our information was forwarded to her photographer, [redacted]. The three of us met on 9/21/2014. [redacted] was very professional and courteous. The problem started after taking the pictures we did not received the link to review the pictures right away. I contacted [redacted] and she apologize and began downloading the pictures after a couple days from contact we were able to go online to view the pictures. We made our selections. We communicated regarding a touch-up on the photo. The touch-up was made; we received the photos in the mail. The problem occurred with the digital album. I have been continually attempting to contact [redacted] regarding the digital album. I have sent emails and left voicemail messages. When I finally reach [redacted] she offers up different excuses regarding the digital album. She stated she did not know why I wasn't receiving the link and she would send it to me from her email. She stated she was unable to send the link from her email. I spoke to [redacted] in March, I discussed my dissatisfaction with the service and not receiving the digital album. She stated she understood and she would allow us to have access to all the photos via online and she would make a CD and send it via postal mail. I did not receive the CD; I called [redacted] and she stated she wrote the wrong address and would send another CD. I did not receive that one. Called her again, she stated on 3/23/15 after returning from out-of-town she would hand deliver the CD.I have not received the CD as of yet. I downloaded the online photos, I noticed they did not have a finished look they look very "pixelated". The colors are not sharp.Desired Settlement: I would like the CD that shows clear and sharp pictures. If I am able to access the online photos, I would like the photos to look clear and sharp like the photos we original chose from. It's very important that we receive the CD ASAP, because graduation announcements need to go out. Again, these are my daughter's senior pictures.

Review: I had pictures taken with Heidi Joy Photography and after ordering those prints, I have still not recieved what I ordered and what I was told would be available with my order.

Here's a quick review of events (this is documented email correspondence).

* December 11th, Heidi Joy Photography (employee: [redacted]) email to me, stated that if I ordered the CD through the website for ordering photographs I would be able to download the digital files for the photos immediately - so I would not need to ask for any digital files from Heidi Joy Photography - the digital files would just be available to me.

* December 12th, I ordered a CD of all the photos and 8" x 10" canvas print. After paying for these, I was expecting I'd somehow be able to download the digital files. I could not download the files. I contacted Heidi Joy Photography (employee: [redacted]) stating that I could not download the files. I did not get a response.

* December 13th, I again emailed Heidi Joy Photography (employee: [redacted]) that I could not download the files. I did not get a response

* December 20th, Heidi Joy Photography (employee: [redacted]) emailed me for my address - but did not respond to my question about downloading the files.

* December 20th, I replied to Heidi Joy Photography (employee: [redacted]) and again asked about the downloads. I did not get a response.

* December 23rd, I emailed Heidi Joy Photography ([redacted] & [redacted]). I finally got a response from [redacted], but [redacted] still did answer my question of where were the digital files. -- Based on the email from [redacted] on December 11th, I was lead to believe that if I ordered the CD, I would be able to download the photos immediately.

* December 24th, [redacted] emailed me letting me know she was not aware of the problem, but would credit me for a family session next year.

* January 6th, I emailed [redacted], going through the entire string of emails and explain to her my frustration was based on what her employee said to me. It was not an assumption I made. I also said I did not have the canvas wrap yet, but I anticpated that would arrive soon. I asked for 50% off my purchase due the misunderstanding and the time that I’ve spend tracking this situation down.

January 9th, [redacted] emailed me saying she had my canvas wrap and would be mailing it out that afternoon. She also she would give me a $50 credit

It is now January 24th and I still do not have the canvas wrap or the $50 credit.

It has been six weeks since I placed my original order and it has not been fulfilled.

I would have the placed the initial order differently if I had known I could not get the downloads when ordering the CD. It was not me making the assumption that I would get the digital files, it was from [redacted]'s email on December 11th - she clearly stated that I would be able to get the files after ordering the CD and she would send the release form the following day - she did not send the release form and I did not get the files.

Heidi Joy Photography has not delivered what I ordered. I’d like a credit of 50% off my original purchase. I do not want anything to ever due with this company again.Desired Settlement: I’d like a credit of 50% off my original purchase. I do not want anything to ever due with this company again.
