What can I say about Heritage... these guys took extraordinary care in the replacement of my roof. From my first meeting with Jeremy, my project manager, to the help picking out a tile color with Todd, to the assistance, in the office, with both Lisa and Jeremy, as they worked with my insurance company (I didn't have to do a thing, as they handled it all. How awesome is that!). And let's not forget the professional and seriously detail oriented crew that did the awesome work. They are quick and really do an incredible job, in a phased approach, with inspections between each phase, which was cool, and reassuring. It really was a great experience all around. My home looks amazing, now dry inside, important, and with the upscale materials they use, will look great and protect my home, and family, for decades to come... which, by the way, bonus, may also help with your appraised value, for those looking to sell or refi. Thank you so very much Heritage. If anyone is reading this, I highly recommend this company and hope you have as great an experience with them as I did.

This company uses threats and unfair business practices to intimidate customers into paying more and not getting services described in contract
The only reason that we are giving this company two stars is that people who give one star are usually upset, just as people who give five stars need to be questioned for authenticity. Make no mistake that Heritage, by far, been the worst company we have ever had to deal with. Beyond the fact that they are signing contracts and demanding more money and then resorting to threats, they have absolutely no business sense or respect for costumers. We had to call our insurance company saying that they were demanding more money for work that was not authorized. We were left in a bad position--they were simply not capable of holding up their end of the contract. We would send letters and call them repeatedly to fix issues and they would turn around and say that they never received either. We believe they are poorly run and they have no idea what is happening from day to day.
We have dealt with a lot of contractors in our jobs, but have never dealt with this level of incompetence. Danny C, the person that we dealt with, even admitted on several occasions that the office is poorly run and that they have no communication within the company or with customers. He further stated the he has spoken to the company about this issue on more than one occasion and has gotten nowhere. He stated to us that the reason that it took five times to get the roof to pass inspection is that the inspector was picky. The fact is, they didn't show up for the first appointment, they didn't have the paperwork for a couple and they simply didn't do the work for the rest. The damaged that they caused around the house and the process to get it all fixed has been painful. It still isn't finished five months later. They have an excuse for everything. They didn't rip the screens--even though there is roofing material sticking out of the screens. They didn't damage the lawn--even though we have pictures of their equipment sitting on our lawn for days. We even called and had to tell them they left a lot of equipment here after finishing the roof.
Please look at the other reviews stating the same issues that we had and save yourself a lot of grief. Dealing with a company that has questionable business practices, including threats, isn't worth the headache. We wish this company luck in the future as they will need it with their own employees questioning how it is run.

Desired Outcome

They can finish the job

Heritage Construction & Roofing Response

Sorry you feel that our company has defrauded you in any way we hold ourselves to a very high standard working hand in hand with customers and insurance companies, when insurance companies agree to pay the loss, or contract the deductible is always the responsibility of the home owner.
along with any additional materials, we did have 300.00 dollars in wood that your insurance paid for, we have been out to your home on 6-7 different occasions where your wife has refused to have minor issues fixed like the screen & Grass fixed. My superintendent Dave said all was fixed today and that you were Ok
If you are basing your Revdex.com review off frustration I would kindly ask you to consider the tragedy that thousands of people are undergoing after the hurricane, sometimes we need to realize that companies are doing their
best in dealing with the amount of customers we deal with each day, and really at the end of the day you got a Beautiful roof with the best warranty in the industry.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We happily paid the deductible when you finally showed up with the warranty. We have not yet received a final, printed receipt, and the lawn damage has not been repaired, as you claim it has. Dave never came out and fixed anything as you state. If he had, our grass would be fixed. Also, he would have had to enter our locked screen which he did not. These are part of the lies and unfair practices that we are speaking of.
We in fact, had to do your job by contacting the insurance company about the extra money you wanted after the contract was signed. We were told that it was your job to contact the insurance company if there was a change in price so that you could explain the difference. Dave told us on many occasions that you would do that. In the end, we informed the insurance company about what was going on and they stated that they would pay the difference and make a note about your company should this happen again.
It did take several return trips to our house to repair damage caused by the installer. We did not turn you away multiple times, but we did ask the name of the screen company you were using since we wanted to make sure that they were legitimate to avoid any more problems. So, that too, is a lie.
Invoking the tragedy that so many homeowners are going through right now does not serve you well, or change the fact that you have questionable business practices. We feel by putting many reviews out about your company and employee's behavior we are saving people a lot of problems down the road. There are many roofing companies and yours is run very poorly.
We would again ask that you look at how you run your business--threats will not take you far. Look at the other reviews that state the same issue that we have had. Instead of blaming the customer, maybe you should be looking at yourself and your employee's behavior. There seems to be much unhappiness within your business that is spilling over to clients, and that will not serve you well.

5 star company. Great communication and excellent work. Whenever there was a question it was handled immediately and clean professional work. The roof looks great.

My neighbor recommended we contact Heritage Construction & Roofing after a wind storm. They promptly returned my call, came out and accessed my roof, and worked with my insurance company. The claim was approved quickly thanks to their assistance, and a date was set to install a new roof. After our recent hurricane, they bumped up our installation time since our old roof had lost several shingles. They promptly showed up when they were supposed to, efficiently did the work, and at the end of each day, expertly and thoroughly cleaned up any debris and nails left behind. Marcus is wonderful to work with and instills a sense of credibility and confidence. Getting a new roof was much easier than I anticipated and working with Heritage made all the difference.

Heritage Construction & Roofing, Inc. inspected my roof after a wind storm in early 2017. After confirming with my insurance company they put on a new roof. They showed up on time and completed the project in one and one-half days. They did a professional job and there was no problem with paperwork, etc. I am totally satisfied with the job and the contacts with the company.

Heritage Construction and Roofing is seriously lacking in their ability to train/educate sales personnel and FOLLOW UP on their customers needs.
I was referred to Heritage by an emergency mitigation company because I had numerous leaks in my roof. The salesman, Orlando, was very nice and courteous during the initial visit, but that's where it ended. He had advised me at that point that he would need to contact my insurance company to confirm that they would pay for Heritage to tarp the roof. Excuse me? I live in Florida. It rains daily. You need confirmation that you will get paid before you act on a roof leak? I should have known better at that point. The Assignment of Benefits was signed and Orlando called my insurance company on the spot to 'assist' me in filing a claim. He never did receive the confirmation he was seeking from my insurance company to tarp my roof and a few days later I ended up calling the emergency mitigation company back to my property to tarp it. They tarped my roof and secured the tarps with sandbags as a measure to not further damage the roof since the adjuster had not yet completed his review of my property. One week later the insurance company approved my claim for a new roof and some cosmetic work inside due to the roof leaks. Two weeks after that Heritage STILL did not contact me regarding a start date for roof replacement NOR did they more securely tarp my roof. I reached out to Orlando and his response was, "I have to ensure this will be covered by the insurance company"... Again? Really? At this point (09/05/17) my date of loss (07/31/17) is 6 weeks prior and Hurricane Irma will hit my area in 2 days. I called Orlando and he advised that he was unable to tarp the roof himself, but he was going to call his company and have someone sent out right away. That never happened. On 09/07/17 my 60 year old father and I got on the roof to nail down the 4 temporary tarps the best we could. We managed to get 2 nailed down before the rain, thunder and lightning started. That evening into the next day Irma hit our home and I was forced during TORNADO WARNINGS AND THE WORST HURRICANE IN ATLANTIC RECORDED HISTORY to get into my attic every 2 hours to empty buckets of water. Throughout the night I managed to empty approximately 10 gallons of water! All of this could have been avoided if Orlando would have just followed through with the correct process. After I brought all of this to his attention and advised him that I wanted to go with another company, he gave me his supervisor Danny's number and told me that I needed to speak with him. On Monday 09/18/17 I contacted Danny, as instructed by Orlando. I explained the situation in detail and advised that I would like the Release of the Assignment of Benefits to be sent within 2 business days. This is a reasonable amount of time since they have been sitting on my file for a month and a half at this point. On 09/20/17 I called him to follow up and he advised that I would have to call someone else in the office and he had not relayed my original message! I'm over this company and their dismal sales staff and customer service abilities. As I've been writing this review Danny has contacted me, yet again, and told me that if his company were to put a more permanent tarp on the roof that it would have "acted as a parachute and done more damage to the roof"... These were his exact words. The interesting thing is that the 2 tarps my dad and I were able to get partially nailed down held up during the storm and didn't even move. At this point I am simply asking to be released from a contract that Heritage Roofing did not abide by initially so that I can have a reputable company provide the necessary services to my property.

Desired Outcome

I have requested on 2 separate occasions to have a release of the Assignment of Benefits sent to my insurance company so that I can have a more reputable company that actually values their customers concerns and property START and COMPLETE the work required.

Heritage Construction & Roofing Response

Heritage Construction & Roofing always goes above and beyond to help customers, *** was not being reasonable when she asked us to come and tarp her house without the approval of the insurance company we are not obligated to do free work.
She signed a AOB on Aug 1 2017, We have been working directly with the insurance company and have received an approval / Loss Sheet but no tarp was approved for this job, if homeowners demand a tarp they need to pay for them or simply do it themselves. we have gotten her approved and will not release her from the contract, she is scheduled for the week of Oct 2.
Thanks
James W

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Heritage Construction and Roofing (particularly Orlando, the sales consultant) claims to have been in contact consistently with the insurance company requesting authorization to tarp the roof. Per the desk adjuster, this is not true. Also, in an emergency situation the tarping is ALWAYS covered by the insurance company to mitigate the loss and prevent further damage to occur. I showed a detailed policy to the sales consultant at the time the AOB was signed.

I have already advised Heritage Roofing verbally and in writing that if they step foot on my property the police will be called and they will be arrested for trespassing. I have a legal right to choose whatever contractor I desire to perform services on my property. I have already obtained another roofing company to reroof my property.

At this point in time Heritage Roofing will be hearing from my attorney and the local news station! Also, I have security cameras on my property awaiting Heritage to step foot on my property. Companies like this should be ashamed of themselves.

Heritage Construction & Roofing Response

Its unfortunate *** that you feel this way, our salesmen are some of the highest trained in the industry, they deal with all kinds of people every day.
We work hard to get homeowners approved through the insurance process, that's why we have an AOB signed by the homeowner so that our work is not in Vain and owners don't (shop) Pricing we have a 99% approval rate and have thousands of outstanding customers that we have helped through this process and yours is one of them, If you desire to cancel your contract after we got the approval we would be willing to do that as the contract states for The $2,500 cancellation fee, if you would like to speak to Me yourself our number is 407-366-6000

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Good Morning Mr. W,
I am not an unreasonable person. I too agree that it is unfortunate that my impression of your sales staff is less than ideal; however, I forming my opinion based off of the way I have personally been treated and the priority that saving my home and my safety has been given over the almighty dollar. I was not opposed to signing an Assignment of Benefits with Orlando based on the assumption that my roof was going to be tarped preventing any further damage to the interior of my home. Orlando advised that he contacted the insurance company on 08/01/17 for confirmation that his services would be covered, but the desk adjuster does NOT have a record that he reached out to her or left a message. The following day I reached out to an emergency mitigation company who came within hours and placed 4 tarps on my roof with sandbags to prevent further damage both to the inside of the home and the roof. He THEN contacted the insurance adjuster and was advised that since the tarping was required to be done in order to prevent further damage, payment will be made on their behalf... just as I had previously explained to Orlando.
I reviewed the electronic images that you submitted, but they were not legible. I took scans of them myself and have attached them for your easy reference. There are 2 items to note on this contract. On the back, where the Cancellation Fee is specified, you can clearly see that I did NOT initial this portion of the sales contract. Orlando never reviewed this with me, as he did the items on the front, so I did not accept these terms. I assume you saw the same because you cut it off in your original, blurry image of the back, but chose to include the entire sheet for the front. Lastly, On the front, the contract is dated for 2018 (as dated by your highly trained sales person) which means it isn't even valid for another 300+ days. This also means that it is NOT yet 3 days AFTER the date of contract and I am within my cancellation with no penalty period. I have called your office numerous times between Friday and Monday with no resolve. Each time I am met with a phone that rings continually or a busy signal, which means I was unable to leave a message. I have reached to Danny C and left a voicemail with him on 09/26/17 and also sent a text message to Orlando on the same date advising that I was trying to reach out to you to discuss this matter. Both of them can confirm, and if not, I'll be happy to provide screenshots of the call log and the text messages I've sent. I have attached for your easy reference a clear copy of my contract. Please reach out to me at your earliest convenience and advise when the Release of the Assignment of Benefits will be sent over. If no response is received by EOD 09/29/17, I will have no choice but to take my documentation to my attorney.
Thank you very much for taking the time to address my concerns thus far, but I am looking forward to moving on. Have a blessed day!

Jeremy came by my house a few month ago and asked to check out my roof. He said he could get my roof replaced under insurance coverage. I was skeptical but I looked up the company online while he was calling my insurance company for me. I decided to give it a try since the company is Revdex.com rated.
After a few weeks, I got a new roof and everything went smoothly. Roof was covered by the insurance and was upgraded from three tab shingle to architectural. They were also very accommodating on the schedule since I work at night and have to sleep during the day.
I'm very grateful to Jeremy (HCR) and my insurance company. I would recommend Heritage Construction & Roofing if anyone needs a new roof.

I recently had to have my roof replaced due to a storm that occurred in January. I selected and used Heritage and could not be any more happy that I did. When they were completed replacing the roof the home looked as if it were brand new. The quality and professionalism could not have been surpassed by any other company in my opinion. I would recommend this company to anyone wanting a roof on their home.

Had roof replaced by Heritage - they did an excellent job. Danny took care of us with genuine concern. Would recommend them to anyone. Had a good experience.

My name is Jason A and I had Larry, an account manager with Heritage come to my house to give me a free inspection when I noticed leaks inside. He was very helpful in identifying the damage to my roof and helping file my insurance claim. They are also upgrading me from a 3 tab shingle to architectural for free. I never thought this process was going to be so easy and I thank Larry and the entire Heritage team.

Heritage Construction & Roofing Response

Thanks you Jason, as the owner of Heritage Construction & Roofing I value your review of our company.
as we always strive to better our customer service, if there is anything we can do for you in the future don't hesitate
to call Larry or myself thanks again
