Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/09/15) */

Concerning:
Case ID: XXXXXX
(& complaint)
I did receive a letter from the attorney general's office of Missouri concerning this case of [redacted].
I spoke with [redacted] head of the [redacted] Corporation's service department. ...

He said [redacted] would be responsible for this refrigerator, (which we had put freon in earlier & were preparing to do again) - and they would follow up and the take care of the matter.
I sent a letter to the Attorney - General saying [redacted] would take care of it. We try very hard to satisfy our customers.
Sincerely,
Rose [redacted]
P.S. - Please let me know it you need more information!

I left my ID in the rent-a-car, unfortunately I had not noticed it missing until about a month later. When I attempted to check to see if they had it at the location I found it exceedingly difficult to contact the location directly (I gave up after 15 minutes or so on the phone dealing with hold times and automated prompts). I was directed by a recording to check for my property on their website where I noted they only retain property for 30 days. After noticing they seem to treat driver's licenses the same as other property I became worried. I attempted to speak to someone from the lost property department, but they do not make them available for in-bound calls it would seem, after 10 minutes on hold I was redirected to a voicemail box (this happened 3 times, yet I've never received a response from their team. I don't understand why my ID could not have just been dropped in a post box, I've had mine returned this way in the past.

I recently rented a car from this Hertz location from 2/1/2013-2/4/2013 and was given a Mazda 3 selected from over 10 cars that were available that day. This was the 2nd time I rented a car from this location. I was given a filthy car and unknowingly at the time, a car with a broken taillight and without windshield washer fluid that appeared to have been involved in an accident. When I returned the car on 2/4/2013, I told the employees the issues I had and asked what they would do to rectify the situation such as a refund. I received no response and then asked if it was their acceptable practice to give a customer a filthy car with an ILLEGAL broken taillight without washer fluid. One employee responded with "it's to code". I then told one of the employees that I had purchased washer fluid myself and he offered to refund me the cost of the fluid if I still had my receipt(which I did not) and then preceded to laugh in my face as if it was all a joke.My experience with this Hertz location was remarkably unacceptable. I was given a car not legal for street driving and which appeared to be involved in an accident. My safety was put at risk and possible police and legal action could have resulted because of Hertz failure to properly inspect their vehicles and ready them for customers. The employee's unwillingness to apologize and their unprofessional, cocky attitude and demeanor's arouses suspicion and leads me to question the motives as to why I was givin a damaged car when the employee could have chosen any other vehicle from the numerous choices available that day?
