It's no doubt that this company has such a low rating. They are not interested in hiring experienced, competent salespeople to work for them.

I honestly do not know what to put as a rating at this time. After searching the Williamsburg, VA area for over 2 years to find the right house we finally found the Bradenton floor plan on the lot we love in Peleg's Point. Yesterday I was treated SOOO disrespectfully over the phone given a black or white decision. Accept the new decision of the Regional Manager or get out of your contract! We haven't even started to build! As if they want us out! All we want is the house WE want on this lot in this neighborhood. This is what we contracted for back in June! Their site manager was originally authorized to allow customers to choose the exterior colors, etc. We chose brick over stone cause we feel it is too rustic. OUR CHOICE! Now we are being told that we must chose stone or get out! This is not right, not fair to us or the other customers that have chosen the same options. One customer I heard has decided to get out rather than change. This is the lot I want and the house I want to pay over $500000 for and it should be how we want it! If they want to change their minds then we should be grandfathered into keeping our choices. I cannot believe that this company is willing to keep losing contracts especially to us veterans. Please make this right!

My name is D. Toliver, I am purchasing and having a new home build at Providence in Ashland Virginia. I have no issue with the construction of my home, I am very disheartened about the Nasty Customer Service form the Superintendent, Sale Manager and Construction Manager. I requested to speak to the President of HHHunt and have been ignored. The customer service we’ve experience with the above HHHunt Employees have been disrespectful towards me a Disabled Veteran and my wife. I was even told by the Superintendent at my pre-construction meeting in front of my wife and realtor, that he felt uncomfortable moving forward with the build of my home. The funny part was when It was requested that I work with the Superintendent who lacks customer service skills in order to move forward an build my home. Customer Service is a vital role to any business unless they make so much money that the President and CEO don’t care how their customers are treated.
I am requesting a meeting with the President of HHHunt Homes in Virginia. You have my contact information.
Again, my is about lack of customer service towards me and my wife. I look forward to meeting with Mr. Hunt and not Susan or Jarod….

Regards
D. Toliver

HHHUNT deserves ZERO stars. Wont fix a gaping hole in the celling for where a nail pop was. Upgraded hard wood is saggy and spongy HHHUNT wont fix. Screw holding dishwasher steady fell out of granite counter top. after fixed one time before. gave me a dead tree in the front yard. This builder is unresponsive and therefore SUX!

Review: I purchased my home from HH Hunt on 11/23/15. The sod was improperly installed, approx. week of 11/16/15. Because of lack of watering at installation, and inability to turn sprinkler system on in Spring (missing sprinkler part) my sod is now greater than 50% dead. I contacted Lynn C[redacted] (customer service) and Justin M[redacted] (construction supervisor)with HH Hunt. Justin contacted the HH Hunt sprinkler vendor to provide the missing part. This doesn't address the dead sod. Lynn C[redacted] emailed this am that Justin says that the sod will take care of itself, and that they are not willing to do anything to correct the problem. In her email she states that Justin suggests that I should pay to have top soil spread on top of the sod.

Justin is not a landscaper. He is a construction supervisor. I have had two landscapers assess the sod, and they have both stated that the sod is dead.

Upon purchase of my home, the sprinkler system had been winterized and turned off. The new sod only had approximately 4-5 days of watering before the sprinkler was turned off in preparation for the home closing. Justin suggested that the dead sod was my fault because I had not fertilized the sod. Sod laid in Winter, is not to be fertilized until Spring, when the sprinkler is turned back on.

The sprinkler vendor brought the missing part, and Justin turned on the sprinkler system on 4/26. That does not correct or address the dead sod issue.

I should not have to pay for new sod, or for someone to spread topsoil on the sod, as Justin M[redacted] suggested.Desired Settlement: I want the dead sod to be removed and replaced by new sod.

If HH Hunt believes that the sod is still alive, I want an independent third party to look at my yard for an honest and fair assessment.

I have photos of all of the dead sod, and the gaps and holes between the sod in my yard. It looks horrible.

If HH Hunt is not willing to resolve this through the Revdex.com, then I am preparing to file a claim in Hanover County Court.

To whom it may concern,Re: Revdex.com Complaint #[redacted] on 4-28-15We take great pride in both the homes we build and the customer experience we provide throughout the homebuilding process. Outstanding customer satisfaction is a core company value and one of our most important initiatives. Our desire is for all customers to be satisfied with their decision in trusting HHHunt Homes. Ms. [redacted] has stated that her sod was improperly installed; however, her sod was installed using identical methods and standards that were used for the neighboring lawns. Neighboring lawns appear healthy and lush green. We affirm that the sod was installed correctly and no differently on Ms. [redacted] lot and that this was not a warrantable matter.Ms. [redacted] Pre-Settlement Orientation document shows that the landscaping was reviewed prior to closing on her new home. There is a check mark beside the term “Landscaping," indicating that it was reviewed and found to be in satisfactory condition. Our Builder, Justin M[redacted], wrote notes of any outstanding items that Ms. [redacted] asked to be addressed. A copy of this paperwork is shown below for your reference. There is no mention of improvements needed to the landscaping or sod in the notes.Page 103 of our Homeowner Manual clearly states: “We will confirm the healthy condition of all plant materials during the pre-settlement orientation. Maintaining landscaping is your responsibility and is excluded from HHHunt Homes Limited warranty.” Ms. [redacted] closed on her home on 11-23-15, at which time the irrigation was already winterized to her new home. When we completed these services, the backflow was placed in either her garage or crawl space, which later came up missing. Since this was not something we could have confirmed prior to closing, HHHunt Homes agreed to replace the backflow and start up the irrigation system at no charge to the homeowner. The time this notification was made to the time the irrigation was started up was less than 10 days. We also feel this timeframe could not have been any faster, as most irrigation companies normally have at least a 2-week lead time in the spring and fall months. We are attaching photos of two lawns installed at approximately the same as Ms. [redacted] lawn using identical installation methods. One of these lawns was applied just before Ms. [redacted] and one immediately after. None of these lawns had additional topsoil applied. They are lush, green and healthy. Neither timing nor installation technique affected the health of these lawns. We are also attaching a photograph of Ms. [redacted] lawn. You’ll notice that after recent rains, it appears lush and green. With proper continued watering and care, Ms. [redacted] will have an attractive lawn. It certainly does not require replacement. Sincerely,Jarod A. A[redacted]

Review: I had a house built by this company (closed Jan 27, 2015) and have been very understanding with the process of construction of a new home and have overlooked some less than stellar construction. But after giving in on the fact that the grading and landscaping of the yard was a complete disaster, even the builder acknowledges that the yard was bad in their documentation, but I agreed to handle it, the main problem is that due to a calcium deposit in the concrete walkway, is was bought to the builders attention and had to be chopped up and done again. The concrete was poured on April 13th, today is June 11th and it has still not cured white. The builder tells me that it needs more time to cure. You do not have to be in the construction field to know that it does not take that long for concrete to cure. The wrong mix was used (the concrete used in garage which is gray) and the builder does not want to admit it and redo it. I have several issues with the house that I have accepted as nothing is perfect. I have loose bricks, condensation in several windows and a yard that looks and feels like it was a old mine field, but dark dingy concrete against a white concrete driveway is just unacceptable and they are refusing to do it over again. It is a small section of concrete and could have been handled for a small cost but they are not standing behind their work and I have to file this complaint. I have waited 60 days before filing this complaint, no concrete takes 60 days to cure.Desired Settlement: I want the walkway done again. The concrete is dingy and showing signs of cracks already.

I have just received the complain and will work with our HHHunt Homes division to determine our next step. I will let you know the outcome once I know more.

Response:

Mr. [redacted],We at HHHunt Homes appreciate the concerns you have expressed about your new home, and our team makes every effort to deliver a quality home to our customers. In response to your initial concern about the color variation between your driveway and lead walk concrete, HHHunt Homes originally replaced the lead slab as a gesture of goodwill given the small imperfection/hole. This action was above and beyond our warranty guidelines and was provided purely a courtesy to you. As stated on page 9.11 in our Homeowner Manual, “Concrete slabs vary in color. HHHunt Homes provides no correction for this condition.” The result of our efforts was a new slab with a very slight color difference (see attached picture), since concrete naturally has some variation in color. Please understand HHHunt Homes makes every effort to address customer concerns, and we take great pride in both the homes we build and the positive customer experience we provide throughout the homebuilding process. Outstanding customer satisfaction isa core company value and one of our most important initiatives. Our desire to ensure you are satisfied with your new home is evidenced by the fact that we have replaced this section/lead walk of concrete one time already, even though the item is not warrantable and this action supersedes our guidelines. Given this and the agreement prior to that concrete batches never perfectly match, we feel that to re-pour this small section again may very well lead to a more pronounced difference in coloration. Sincerely, [redacted]HHHunt HomesConstruction Manager

Review: I closed on a house May 2013 and within the first month the back yard became flooded with water that would not drain. I was instructed to contact either [redacted] or a specific set of contractor if anything were to break in the house. I was told that per my 1 year warranty, any issues would be fixed at no charge. In September I contact the [redacted] (as instructed) told him that the yard was not draining properly and requested that someone who deals with drainage issues assess my yard and make a recommendation. [redacted] became hostile and blamed the lack of drainage on the weather, too much irrigation, me aiming the irrigation system to fold the area below my deck and finally stated that "your yard is the drainage yard, all the yards adjacent to yours will always drain into your backyard. you will not see improvement until your back neighbor establishes grass in his backyard". I told [redacted] that I was not able to use my backyard because it consistently had standing water/mud throughout. [redacted] stated, "Well you should have known that your yard was the drainage yard when you purchased the house. That's not HHHunt's problem. I immediately met with the sales agent who offered to speak with [redacted] and advocate that he send someone to look at my yard. A few weeks later [redacted] called me and we repeated the first conversation. I spoke with the sales agent and asked for the name of [redacted]'s [redacted]. She said that she would contact people within HHHunt to get someone to speak with me. This was unsuccessful. I called my closing attorney and asked for advice. He said that he would make a call to HHHunt in an attempt to have someone look at the drainage problems in my yard. I received a call from [redacted] stating that he would send landscapers to replace sod and re grade. I told [redacted] that replacing the sod/regrading would not fix the drainage issues. [redacted] insisted on sending landscapers to replace the sod that had been eroded/kill off by water flooding onto my yard and collecting. I stated specifically, "You must have my permission to work in my yard and I do not give you permission to touch the sod in my yard". The following week I came home from work to find almost all of the sod in my backyard removed. that evening I received a call from [redacted]'s [redacted]). [redacted] said that they were happy to replace the sod and that everything would "look nice". I again stated that my issue is the standing water in my yard and under my deck. [redacted] went through the same list as [redacted]- blaming the water collection on me, the weather, the irrigation company (everyone except HHHunt. I said to [redacted] that all I wanted is for someone to look at my yard before they make a conclusion and order work to be done. [redacted] asked if I filed a warranty complaint. I said that I did not know what that was. He referred me to my homeowners manual (which I did not have). [redacted] said that he would document the problems in their system so that if necessary he would extend my warranty. (I called the sales rep and she brought me a home owners manual the following day.) [redacted] agreed to look at my yard himself. He did look at my yard however it was a month before a heard back from him. [redacted] called me and said that HHHunt could not meet my expectations so there was nothing else he could do. I told him that I had spoken to a lawyer and that the lawyer told me that I was entitled to a "functional yard" and that my expectation met that criteria. My expectation is that if it has not recently rained that there will not be standing water in my yard or under my deck and that if it has not recently rained that I can kick a ball in my yard with my kids. I moved in May 2013 and as of February 2014 have not been able to walk in my yard without sinking in mud- NOT ONE SINGLE TIME. After telling [redacted] my expectation and adding that I want to have a fenced installed, however when I got estimates for a fence the contractors said that they will not put a fence up until the drainage problems are corrected. [redacted] then stated that he did not realize that was my expectation. He spoke in circles and contradicted himself. Eventually, he stated that he would try to correct the problem, but that in order for him to work on my yard that he will have to use [redacted]. I stated that I did not want [redacted] working on my property after he removed my sod (that I paid $3000 for) against my wishes, but that if that was the only way to get someone to look at my yard and make suggestions to correct that I will agree.I was told by [redacted] that because HHHunt is behind on construction that it will be at least 30 days before they can even look at my yard. I called the warranty department to see if they could help get someone to look at my yard and offer a resolution. Per the warranty department there is nothing in their computer system documenting the drainage issues. I followed Lynn's instruction (the person in charge of the home warranty) and emailed her documentation of my attempts to reach a resolution. I later discovered that all she could do was to forward the request to [redacted] and [redacted]. I have asked [redacted] for his [redacted]s name or any other person to speak with, but he has refused. He has stated, "There is no need to speak with anyone else...all complaints come to me, so if you complain you will just end up dealing with me anyway" I have documentation, videos and pictures of everything that I have stated above.Desired Settlement: I just want to be able to use my back yard. In my opinion, this requires the following: 1. have an independent (not employed by HHHunt) professional, qualified in fixing improper drainage provide an evaluation and recommendations to correct the drainage problems. I would like to be present while the yard is examined. 2. Discuss options to improve drainage with HHHunt and reach an agreed upon resolution 3. HHHunt to implement the agreed upon solution 4. HHHunt to replace all sod that was destroyed by water and taken from my yard against my wishes. 5. HHHunt to extend my home warranty for a minimum of 6 additional months so that it can be determined if the drainage problem has been corrected 6 HHHunt to provide soil testing for what appears to be mold under my deck (where there has been standing water for many months) 7. If it is determined that it is mold growing under my deck and that the mold is due to the standing water, that HHHunt be responsible for correcting the mold problem.

Response:

The business called. They are trying to work with the customer to resolve the issue. It may take up to 30 days to come up with the resolution and to execute that plan but they are actively working to insure a meaningful solution to found for both the business and the consumer. There are a few parts of the yard that are proving to be difficult.

Review: I bought a new house at the end of April 2013. I have seen the water spots in my garage which periodically appeared since I bought the house. Then in June 2013 I found excessive moisture on a vapor barrier and saw that wooden beams were covered with mold. I have been an allergy patient for years and I have called mold/crawl specialist. He took mold samples from my crawl space. In addition, he notified me that insulation in a crawl space was wet. According to the Mold Report, all the samples showed high mold spores count. After I reported the mold problem to a builder, a builder sent [redacted] to my house. [redacted] dried my crawlspace during July 3rd - July 9th, 2013 and then HHHunt Homes put a new vapor barrier in my crawl space. In addition, the pipe in the front yard was straightened out. The consultant that I invited to my house discovered a pool of water standing by the wall of crawl space cement block and showed it to a builder. This pipe runs through the front yard and it is very close to the surface. The pipe was already doing its job but was bended a little bit in one place in the middle part of the front yard and was straightened out. Builder straightened out the pipe. However, the issue was not fixed by HHHunt Homes. Buuilder told me that HHHunt Homes has done everything for me per their Homeowners Manuel Guidelines and there is nothing else they can do for me.Cement blocks in my crawl splace (along the house perimeter) are still wet. Water spots in my garage are still present. All the companies that I invited to my house to evaluate the water issue in my crawl space and my garage stated that there is something wrong with a dranaige system of my house. My house is under warranty (11 months since the purchase date) with HHHunt Homes. The quick fix in the middle of my front yard does not solve a water problem in a crawl space and the garage. I bought the house at the end of April 2013 and should not have any water/fungus issues.Desired Settlement: Fixing a water issue in a crawl space garage/fixing drainage system.

Review: On June 14, 2013, my husband and I closed on a brand new home which we purchased from HHHunt Homes. As a part of our upgraded kitchen we selected a stainless steel [redacted] microwave (hood). Last week, less than 90 days after we took possession of our home the microwave began acting up. Basically, it won't heat anything for less than 2 or 3 minutes. This is a huge problem for my family as we have a 8 month old daughter and routinely heat her baby food for 20 seconds or so. My husband contacted the builder who put him in touch with the warranty division. Instead of replacing the microwave, the builder sent a service technician out who told us he needed to replace a part on a microwave that is barely 2 months old!! I was outraged. I cannot believe that we spent a fortune on a brand new home only to receive defective appliances. When I called and emailed to demand satisfaction I was told that the warranty only covered repair not replacement. I would completely understand that if we were a year or more down the road but the fact that a microwave, which usually last for years, is in a state of disrepair just a couple of months after installation means to me the product I was given was defective and should be replaced. This builder is constructing homes all across the Richmond area and once the closing occurs is apparently unwilling to help. I cannot believe that it would come to me filing a complaint with Revdex.com over a microwave. HHHunt could repair the microwave and put it in someone else's home.Desired Settlement: I want HHHunt to replace the defective microwave.

Response:

Thank you for taking the time to speak with me this afternoon. Please know that I am truly sorry to hear that one of our homeowners is not satisfied with the outcome of their concern. We take great pride in both the homes we build and the customer experience we provide throughout the homebuilding process. Customer satisfaction is a core company value and one of our most important goals.

Below is a brief timeline of events, as reported and documented by our customer service department:

· 06/07/2013: Home closed (start of 1-year warrantable period)

· 08/27/2013: Homeowner reports concern (+/- 2.5 months after closing)

· 08/29/2013: First repair appointment (within 2 days of reported concern)

· 09/04/2013: Repair completed (within 8 days of reporting concern)

The paragraph below can be found in the HHHunt Homes Homeowner Manual on page 81 in Section 9 – Maintenance & Warranty, under the sub header “Appliances.”

“We confirm that all appliance surfaces are in acceptable condition during your pre-settlement orientation. We assign all appliance warranties to you, effective on the date of closing. The appliance manufacturers warrant their products directly to you according to the terms and conditions of these written warranties. Please see page 73 and your Appliance Service information sheet.”

Additionally, the following link provides the [redacted] Manufacturer’s warranty info:

In closing, we feel that the homeowner’s concern regarding the microwave was appropriately addressed and repaired within the guidelines of both HHHunt Homes and [redacted] service support. Since this was the first reported concern, we feel the microwave should be repaired rather than replaced. We apologize for the inconvenience of the 8-day turnaround.

Thank You,

W[redacted]
