Hillside Printing

We took our art business to Hillside Printing because our regular printer was having technical issues and we had a timeline we needed met. We went through what we needed done and sent high resolution pdfs of the 5 prints we needed done. We ordered 100 prints at 11x14, so not a common or inexpensive size, also with a paper upgrade. This was a pricey order but we had an art show a couple of days away and needed them specifically for this event.

When we picked them up they were sealed and we could only see one print without opening and possibly damaging the rest in transit. The exposed print looked good and we paid for the order and went on our way. Due to time restrictions we didn't have an opportunity to open the package until the next night at the event and were shocked with the other prints as they were so dark and miss-colored we could barely make out the pictures and none of the colors that were visible even matched what was submitted. We immediately emailed the company and were responded to that nothing could be done until Monday. We lost out on hundreds of dollars in sales and had to have one of us miss half the show to travel down and back up the island to get an emergency batch printed on a rush from our regular printer who was thankfully up and running and fit in our order last minute.

When we went in later in the week to discuss the obvious color and tonner error and show the other printers flawless work as an example of what we had expected from the pdfs submitted we we were offered a reprint at a slight discount or nothing at all.
