The business contacted Revdex.com to inform us the issue has been fixed

Greg Nelson the owner call me and said it was all a mistake and my account was paid in full Please call him and verify this, and if nothing has changed I will drop my complaint against this company

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Regards, [redacted] ***First off he said he came out a few weeks ago???I don't think so.A guy did come out over a month ago when the bees were still there. They DO NOT call before before someone comes out.On Tuesday he shows up without calling and I told him I was going in the shower and he could look back at the roof.Slammed the door in my face and told me just to 'fix it'IS A LIE!I wish I went with another company-This company has be nothing but trouble. From destroying my Dish TV Antenna to leaving nails all around my house.I'm done with this company!!!

Phone message: We did everything that the contract stated We got him financed and signed the paperwork stating that he was happy with the job before the funds where released Now all of the sudden, he has issues I don't understand There was no leaking There was a decorative thing he wanted up on the roof (purely decorative) it had nothing to do with the roof itselfHe had it and I didn't want to put it up there because I could not guarantee it would not leak and apparently now this is an issue Again we did everything that we were supposed to and he signed off on it

I responded on 6/14/to customer explaining that we found the return was rotted and not just a repair It was beyond the scope of the contract and I offered options & I never heard back from the customer

We have no record that the customer called in March but did have several emails back and forth with the customer in September to ask more details about his concerns (see attached) Yes he did reach out to us in September and when we went to the house there was a bee issue that we needed to be resolved before looking at this further We were notified the bees were gone and said we'd have someone get back out there and look at the issue I did go back and look at the issue a few weeks ago but Mr [redacted] was not homeI couldn't find anything wrong with the roof. After receiving his threatening email, along with him being verbally abusive to my staff I went to his house myselfI knocked on the door to explain to him that the issue is NOT a roofing issueIt is a siding issue (trim work) that WE DID NOT DO Mr [redacted] refused to come out of the house, he slammed the door in my face and told me just to 'fix it' I then left him a detailed message of my findings Again, NOT a roofing issue, not part of what we were contracted to do and there is absolutely nothing wrong with his roof I can certainly fix his siding/trim issue but it is not under the roof warranty, it would be additional services that he would need to hire us for and pay for.As it stands now, I really don't want to work with this customer again He was rude and extremely abrasive with my staff Called several times, yelled, threatened and said he'd continue calling daily until I (Greg) answer the phone No one in my office needs to deal with a bully like Mr*** What's even more odd is that his email of 10/30/stated that he wanted it resolved THIS WEEK Which is it, yet he threatens legal action and is abusive to my staff without giving us even hours to respond to his 10/email I prefer not to deal with such an arrogant person so my file is closedI am NOT LIABLE for his siding issueGood luck Mr***

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards, [redacted] ***As we discussed I was very dismayed that Greg waited one year since my final letter to him and close to months from the time the Revdex.com closed the case against him to formulate a response I also consider the tone of the response to be hostile, dismissive, and condescending There are several problems with his response as well: The claim that all work was completed as described is false Aside from numerous first hand experiences, photos show evidence that this is untrue In addition, an inspection by another contractor to complete and/or repair the work not done or done poorly by Greg is included here for consideration; the total for the corrections is $7, I plan to get another estimate this spring As a homeowner, it is unreasonable that I be expected to instantly (or otherwise expertly) recognize all areas that may or may not be complete or completed poorly In fact, I believe you will find that I did in fact immediately and repeatedly point out more areas of concern than might be expected All were subsequently ignored. It is true that Greg arranged financing I was required to sign a statement that I was satisfied with the work before the loan company would release the funds However, as is shown in the letter to Greg on 11/7/14, (provided here), I had a litany of complaints that Greg stated he would not address until the funds were released and he had been paid for the jobUpon my rejection of this premise, Greg stated his crew was too busy to correct them at the time He did show up and repair two issues; one was cosmetic, and while I was lead to believe the other was cosmetic, it later became apparent that a genuine repair was required, as a leak eventually occurred (see incident folder January 2017, including video)I held out until 11/18/for more repairs to be completed (they were not)The forms offered no space for “contingency” items and I signed the contract and released the funds in good faith that Greg would complete the workAs is apparent from the evidence presented, Greg did little to nothing to address my concerns in the 2+ years since receiving his payment. It is not true that “all of a sudden” I have issues While it is true that at the exact time of completion there was no leaking, correspondence and photo evidence clearly shows issues were either imminently present or developed over the course of the past yearsIn any case, the year workmanship and year material warranty should cover them It is not possible that these problems existed before Greg’s installation, as the entire roof structure was replaced.Greg’s contention that the “decorative thing” was not part of the roof as it was is untrue It became a accessory element only after Greg completed his work There was not a single discussion about Greg not wishing to put the cap back In fact Greg and I had several discussions about the re-installation of this item In any case, it is not unreasonable to expect to have such a major feature of the roof be re-installed In addition, Greg’s contention that this item could cause leaks is without foundation, as it would be installed on top of a completely singled area. Finally, even if I “signed off on it,” subsequent discovery of problems should be covered under the warranties provided by GregHere is a link to the collection of material I have on my complaint against Greg’s Custom Exteriors (# [redacted] ) There are images, PDF documents, and videosGreg was shown many of the items in person Greg personally witnessed the leaking from the February incident and blamed it on extreme weatherSubsequent events have proven that claim to be without meritHe refused to come look at the other leak events Greg ignored nearly every call I made to his cell phone or his office When he did respond, he failed to show for arranged meetings I can contact my cell phone company to retrieve records of the call times if it is necessary The letters mention a few of the appointments he did not show forHe received the pictures you see here as part of the Certified Return Receipt letter sent in December

Customer signed a contract for roof work Work has been completed, customer paid what he felt was reasonable which was NOT the final price as agreed There is an outstanding balance of $ A lien will be placed upon the property if not paid in full by 9/12/per General Provisions and Disclosures signed by the homeowner

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meI do plan to have the work inspected in the near futureRegards, [redacted]

No the leak was not from the roof, it was from the siding, which I explained over the phoneYes I agreed to fix the leak at NO COST but did not agree to fix the ceiling at no cost The leak that caused the ceiling damage was NOT from the roof My warranty does not cover damage by another contractor, and I did not install your sidingI was trying to help resolve the issue and have done just that, fixed your leak that resulted from a siding issue installed by someone else

The work is complete 9-28-

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
" Tear off section that meets the house in the back from the wall to valleyInstall ice + water shield to entire section and up wallinstall shingles to match." This was to fix a leak not damageThere was nothing visible to anyone that pinpointed the leakThe only signs were the water damage inside the houseThe contract doesn't state that repairs are not warranted and I was never told thisIf I had been told I would never had Greg do the workSecond " repair was caulking between the shingles and J channel all roofers know this is NOT a proper repair.

We did the job last year and there was no evidence of any critters housing there. I was contacted in June via email about concerns. I went to the house on June 24, and replied to the email with this: I'm looking at the house right nowYou have a major squirrel
infestationThey are eating the fascia boards and some of the rafter tails, causing some of the nails in the plywood to pull outYou also have pidgeons and other birds coming in and out from several areasOnce they vacate we can perform the repairs.I never heard from the customer after I went to the house on June 24, and never had a reply from my email until yesterday.Yesterday I was asked again about the repairs via email & I again replied with: Have you taken care of the squirrel and bird problem? If so we can be there by the end of next weekTotal cost for the repair work will be $500.I also called the customer yesterday to explain that there was NO evidence of critters when we did the estimate in Oct and NO evidence of critters when the work was completed in 2015. This is by no means my fault or blame. The critters clearly caused the damage AFTER our work was done & sometime in

We did not install the roof we were only asked to do the repairs We did the repairs months ago and with the significant amount of rain this year if our repairs were faulty the customer would've seen evidence of that immediately, not months after the fact Yes Brian did go back out
recently and determined the leak is not the same area we repaired it's a NEW leak We tried to explain to the customer that we don't warranty repairs PLUS this is a new leak that needs repair which is not covered under the initial $paidNo refund will be issued We were contracted to do a specific repair which we did No refund will be given Our file is closed

Revdex.com:

The signed contract from June 23,does not include gutters. I have contacted the customer to discuss this matterIf she needs gutters, or additional work there is additional charges she must pay.Customer had the roof work completed the week of 9/6/and has waited several weeks to
inquire? Not sure why she didn't ask this question when the work was completed over months ago

work was completed 7/14/

We did complete the roof and had no issues. Customer did request shutters and when we went to measure the shutters the customer told my lead crew member that she didn't want us installing gutters, she hired another company to install a door AND shutters, that was in early Feb 2017. She
acknowledged that we were at the property but doesn't recall the conversation because she now (several weeks later on 3/27/17) calls to ask about the status of the shutters. We advised that she cancelled the order with us so we closed her file out. We further advised that her shutters would need to be custom ordered and will take several weeks. We were never paid for shutters, she isn't out anything other than some wait time. We offered to place the order but it would take weeks because of the custom order (the shutters are not a standard size). Unfortunately she is not happy that we don't have control over the suppliers wait time on special orders. As for scheduling delays, this is NY and we are at the mercy of the weather, which impacts not just our schedules but how quickly our suppliers can ship items to us. Customer was very difficult to work with and appears to be upset that she didn't get immediate gratification

We fulfilled the terms of the contract pertaining to the roof and the work that she has paid for. We told the customer that we had to order the shutters. Original order was incorrect, we advised of that and she was impatient and told us she was going with someone else. That was completely fine with us since she had NOT PAID FOR THE SHUTTERS.No, I did not hang up on the customer. I said I was not going to entertain her need to argue. I told her that we had notes in the file that SHE cancelled the orderAfter nearly minutes of trying to explain to the customer the documentation we had in her file, she only wanted to continue to argue. I said good day and ended the conversationThere is nothing to reject. The roof was done, warranty is in place, it didn't blow away or leak with the recent SIGNIFICANT storms in March so that should suffice to our workmanship. Sometimes we are unable to please every customer but it's not for lack of efforts

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards,
[redacted]As we discussed I was very dismayed that Greg waited one year since my final letter to him and close to 6 months from the time the Revdex.com closed the case against him to formulate a response.  I also consider the tone of the response to be hostile, dismissive, and condescending.   There are several problems with his response as well: The claim that all work was completed as described is false.  Aside from numerous first hand experiences, photos show evidence that this is untrue.  In addition, an inspection by another contractor to complete and/or repair the work not done or done poorly by Greg is included here for consideration; the total for the corrections is $7,741.   I plan to get another estimate this spring.  As a homeowner, it is unreasonable that I be expected to instantly (or otherwise expertly) recognize all areas that may or may not be complete or completed poorly.  In fact, I believe you will find that I did in fact immediately and repeatedly point out more areas of concern than might be expected.  All were subsequently ignored. It is true that Greg arranged financing.  I was required to sign a statement that I was satisfied with the work before the loan company would release the funds.  However, as is shown in the letter to Greg on 11/7/14, (provided here), I had a litany of complaints that Greg stated he would not address until the funds were released and he had been paid for the job. Upon my rejection of this premise, Greg stated his crew was too busy to correct them at the time.  He did show up and repair two issues; one was cosmetic, and while I was lead to believe the other was cosmetic, it later became apparent that a genuine repair was required, as a leak eventually occurred (see incident folder January 2017, including video). I held out until 11/18/14 for more repairs to be completed (they were not). The forms offered no space for “contingency” items and I signed the contract and released the funds in good faith that Greg would complete the work. As is apparent from the evidence presented, Greg did little to nothing to address my concerns in the 2+ years since receiving his payment. It is not true that “all of a sudden” I have issues.  While it is true that at the exact time of completion there was no leaking, correspondence and photo evidence clearly shows issues were either imminently present or developed over the course of the past 2 years. In any case, the 15 year workmanship and 30 year material warranty should cover them.  It is not possible that these problems existed before Greg’s installation, as the entire roof structure was replaced.Greg’s contention that the “decorative thing” was not part of the roof as it was is untrue.  It became a accessory element only after Greg completed his work.  There was not a single discussion about Greg not wishing to put the cap back.  In fact Greg and I had several discussions about the re-installation of this item.  In any case, it is not unreasonable to expect to have such a major feature of the roof be re-installed.  In addition, Greg’s contention that this item could cause leaks is without foundation, as it would be installed on top of a completely singled area. Finally, even if I “signed off on it,” subsequent discovery of problems should be covered under the warranties provided by Greg. Here is a link to the collection of material I have on my complaint against Greg’s Custom Exteriors (#[redacted]).  There are images, PDF documents, and videos. Greg was shown many of the items in person.   Greg personally witnessed the leaking from the February 2015 incident and blamed it on extreme weather. Subsequent events have proven that claim to be without merit. He refused to come look at the other leak events.  Greg ignored nearly every call I made to his cell phone or his office.  When he did respond, he failed to show for arranged meetings.  I can contact my cell phone company to retrieve records of the call times if it is necessary.  The letters mention a few of the appointments he did not show for. He received the pictures you see here as part of the Certified Return Receipt letter sent in December 2015.
