HBF is a Ripoff
I bought a water lily rhizome complete with pot and soil. As advertised, all I had to do was place it in the pond. Long story short, nothing grew. It may have been cooked in transit, but it's hard to say...could have been dead from the get-go.

They put me off with various excuses for 9 weeks, apparently hoping I would give up. As it turns out, in the unlikely event that you can get them to honor their "100% satisfaction guarantee," they issue a merchant credit without shipping costs.

So to get any compensation whatsoever for my lost time and money, I'm being FORCED to do even more business with them? Gimme a break.

Holland Bulb Farms will remain forever on my "do not buy" list.

Criminal Company tries to steal your money!
I ordered stock and three of four items were flat out incorrect. They shine you on, asking for photos when I had already sent them with the first mailing. Three months later and TWO complaints with the Better Business Bureau, plus threatening them with bad reviews, they finally paid, refunding one item first and then finally, under duress, the remaining two.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are the worst I have ever ever used. For anything.

I wanted massed effect. Only a few came up.
Planted several hundred crocuses. About 20 came up, so effect was nothing like I expected. Yet they are going to subtract cost of the 20 from my refund. Ridiculous. Spoiled my garden scheme, and say, we will not reimburse you for the few that did come up. And now they offer me replacement bulbs or a merchandise credit, so I have to purchase more of their product. No refund to my card. I would rather not do business with them again. Phooey. Do not do business with them.

Terrible. They do not back up their product.
Spent a lot of money on bulbs and bare roots. One crocus bloomed out of over 100. They won't make it right because they think the growing season is over. They should have sprouted this spring, because I planted them last year, when I got them. I couldn't plant them immediately because I ordered in January. They claim they were stored and they should have bloomed last year. Well, they didn't. I planted them last year, and they should have bloomed this year, their first growing season. Not according to them. Absolutely a scam!

Does not have 100% grow warranty
If you do not look at each bulb when it arrives and tell them withen 5 days of the order ,even if the order arrives early there 100% grow Guarantee is not honored . My bulbs arrived early , put them in open box in Downstairs Garage, cool and dry. I ha 1 tulip that was moldy , did not call it in but when I finally planted the Daffodils , there were 2 bad so I called the company for the 100% grow warrantee , They would not honor it because I stored the bulbs that were delivered early which I could not plant . Try , no run to another company to buy bulbs

Holland Bulb Farm is a scam now - DO NOT ORDER!
Ordered and paid on September 13, website said they would ship to my zone (Colorado) in September. It is October 21, order is still "shipping pending". No one answers the customer service 800 number, the chat is never staffed and I emailed more than a week ago and still no response. I think they just taking orders and money but not actually in business anymore. Would give them a zero if I could.

Bulbs small didn't grow. Don't buy bareroot from Holland Bulb
Bought 12 daylily bulbs back in 2018. I spent over $64. The bulbs were small but I planted them as soon as I received them following the directions fully. I keep waiting for them to grow. I have a very hard time understanding why none of them grew. I've been a gardener for over 15 years. While I understand they won't guarantee after the first year I kept hoping, was struggling with polymyalgia rheumatica so was overwhelmed by health issues so didn't follow through. My recommendation is to pay more for plants and avoid bareroot.

Actually, a ZERO is my rating.

Poor quality tulip bulbs which never bloomed. The plant came up but the flowers were all dead. My other bulbs that I bought from Lowe's and planted at the same time bloomed beautifully.

ABYSMAL customer service! I asked for a refund and for an extra bag of bulbs for my time and efforts. AT THE CORPORATE LEVEL I was talked down to by the customer service manager and told the following: (mostly blame the victim kind of stuff)

1. I'm in a zone where they sometimes don't grow well...(WHY DO THEY SELL TO ME
IN THIS ZONE THEN?) I've successfully grown tulips in this "zone" for many years.
2. received a lesson/lecture in gardening. (I am an accomplished gardener & have never had
problems growing tulips, except this year when I ordered from Holland Bulb Farms.)
3. I should have read the website. (Like all consumers do, I suppose.)
4. I'm the kind of person that likes to get something for nothing out of businesses.
(Hmmmm... never even met this lady and she believes she knows me. Weird!?)
5. Since I "threatened" her, she'll reimburse me and throw in an extra bag. (Didn't happen,
just told her that I had no other recourse than to write a bad review.)

Don't WANT extra of your bad product! Don't want to deal with your HORRIBLE customer service operators ever again!

Hey HOLLAND BULB FARMS...you missed an opportunity to keep a life-long customer and to get a great review by making a customer happy. Was a bag or two of bulbs really worth it?

WE OWN A BUSINESS and are very successful because we do EVERYTHING WE CAN to keep our customers happy. It's CUSTOMER SERVICE 101.

MY NEW FAVORITE FLOWER SOURCE!!!
I cannot live without flowers, and I order from several companies. Last fall I discovered Holland Bulb Farms while browsing online. EVERY order I have received from them is of the highest quality. The bulbs I have ordered almost burst out of their "skins" to grow thick, lush and beautiful!

Then why did you only rate them as the lowest level?

Holland Bulb Farms is an excellent business. Their prices are very fair. If there is a problem with an order, they will right it that day!

Review: I purchased bulbs in January and I didn't know I needed to place them in soil. There was 2 feet of snow of the ground. If I would have known I would have

placed them in soil. Now the bulbs are so far gone there is nothing I can do.Desired Settlement: I just would like new bulbs please.

It is hard for us to provide a guarantee on something that was not given the chance to grow, as they were not able to be planted. However, we are an understanding company and now know that you were not aware of the time they needed to be planted.
