[redacted] signed up with our company for assistance with his home on February [redacted] 2014. I have attached correspondence from Home Affordable Direct to [redacted] and to WELLS FARGO showing Phone calls , Faxes and email in reference to client. CLIENT WAS APPROVED FOR A TRIAL MODIFICATION he did not...

accept. The Modification would have saved the homeowner $316.47 per month with a new monthly payment of $922.53 old payment $1239. Was advised by [redacted] that he wanted a principal reduction and would not accept anything else. After client had not accepted the trial the lender WELLS FARGO then ordered a SALE DATE FOR APRIL **,2014 . I had advised client that he should accept the modification and we can try to work with WELLS FARGO on possibly offering a PRINCIPAL REDUCTION or a lower payment than already offered. In order to do this we would need ALL the required documents to do so . I had stressed to client it was very important to consider taking the modification or they ma y not stop the scheduled date of sale for APRIL **,2014. We had advised client of ALL other options available and of possibly having to file bankruptcy to stop the sale . It was not a guarantee. We had gone over the documents with the client let him know that the Profit and loss he has supplied was showing a negative amount of over $1100. DEBT TO INCOME RATIO client did not want to revise. All documents that were received from client were submitted to lender .We were advised by WELLS FARGO over the phone and in WRITING that [redacted] was not eligible for any assistance due to him not accepting the Trial Modification in conjunction with that their were also judgments showing on his title . With these judgments a modification would not be an option. We had explained the situation to client he insisted that a modification was an option and provided a document that he stated showed a clearing of judgement. These documents were sent to lender on [redacted]s behalf. This also was de clined by LENDER. At that time Home Affordable Direct instructed [redacted] to file Bankruptcy to stop the sale of his home and to allow us time to see if anything else could be done for the client. [redacted] declined to file bankruptcy and sent a us a letter by fax to stop working on his loan . We honored his request . Letter is also attached in this email. As to complaint against Home Affordable Direct we had communicated fully with client and lender and had worked vigorously on a resolution for [redacted]. We are stating the accusations and complaint against our company is FALSE. Thank you for your time if you have any further questions please contact me at ###-###-####

Review: Company promised to assist with mortgage adjustment, but received money, tried to get more then stopped contact when a contract was requested by me. Now after trying to contact via phone and emails, there is no response. I am now out of money with incomplete processing and at risk of losing my house.Desired Settlement: I would either request a return so that I may pursue a settlement and/or adjustment with the mortgage company

Review: I was contacted by this company by phone for foreclosure help. I paid them a refundable $2000 and was told if they couldnt help modify my mortgage I would be refunded. I submitted paper work ie; pay stubs, bank statements. I was in contact via email with a [redacted]. As of July ** I was told he was on a leave of absence by a [redacted]. [redacted] advised go give him a week because they were closed for a week and backed up. I called back and kept getting told by the same woman someone would call me back. When I questioned the woman on the phone she said the office inMelville was closed and the files were taken to be processsed elsewhere and someone would be in touch and they were not taking on any new clients!!!! As of today I cant get in contact with anyone and feel I have been scammed by theses people. I am requesting a refund of my $20000 and for these people to be investigated. The office is closed and I dont know who it is tha keeps answering the phone at the ###-###-#### number, but they are able to transfer me to different extensions when I call. Please help. I am disgusted!!!!Desired Settlement: $2000 fee for foreclosure modification that I was told was refundable if I got a denial on my modification.

Review: My daughter and myself gave this company 1500.00 in cash for a modification service for our home in [redacted]. Sent them everything they asked for and when we didn't hear from them in a while we called and got an answering machine. We haven't heard from them in apprx. 4 months and I am very concerned because I could lose my home. Also when my daughter called [redacted], his phone was shut off and I also could not get in touch with [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like a refund and for this to be known to the public that this is a poor company and a possible scam.

Was denied x2 my property has a IRS lien and nothing will go forward until this is resolved... Home affordable direct knows this but yet they stalling telling me that there working with the bank to go forward I have spoken to bank and lawyers and they have said with an IRS lien on any property bank will not grant any modifications at all, this company is fraud and have not help me really at all but took my cash and homelessDesired Settlement: Want my refund..

Review: I WENT TO COMPANY INQUIRING ABOUT MORTGAGE LOAN MODIFICATION.. THEY TOOK $2200. FROM ME AND NEVER PRODUCED . IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A COMPANY TO CHARGE YOU A PENNY UNITIL IT GIVES YOU A WRITTENOFFER FOR A LOAN MODIFICATION

OR OTHER RELIEF FROM THE LENDER. I WENT TO THEM NUMEROUS TIMES WITH REQUESTS FOR MY REFUND.

AND WAS TOLD I WASNT GETTING MY REFUND. THEIR ACTIONS WERE ILLEGAL AND I DO NOT WANT T O EVER DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN. [redacted] REQUESTS I GIVE THEM A CHANCE - NO WAY. THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS AND I WILL GO TO ALL EXTREMES TO EXPOSE THIS UNTIL I GET MY REFUND. AGAIN- IT IS ILLEGAL TO TAKE CLIENTS MONEY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP IN THIS MATTER.Desired Settlement: I WANT MY FULL REFUND OF $2200.00

Review: My fiance and I got help with this company in the spring after calling a number for [redacted] help for homeowners. I spoke to several different representatives thought two main contacts were [redacted] and [redacted]. we signed a contract with them as well and gave tehm a check of over $3100. I last spoke to [redacted] via email July **, 2014 when he responded to my email letting him know I mailed off the requested information. After we spoke later that week by phone inquiring about some information on one of the documents sent. I then reached out on August [redacted] inquiring about what the next move should be because we had received documentation from our lender requesting more updated information. I reached out via phone 4 different times to various extension and only ever got voice mails. I also reached out to [redacted] on his cell phone and again was not able to reach anyone and left messages again. Normally when I would reach out I have never had issues reaching someone and the bank has received documents I have previously submitted. We have been getting the run around from our lender in the past and not much has changed working with this company. I am disheartened to know a company advertised to be affliated with [redacted] help for homeowners was a scam and fraud. Now we are back to square one and if we lose our house have no where to go with our kids. We worked hard to get this house and have worked hard to keep it this is extremely unfair.Desired Settlement: I would first like a refund of our money that we paid and since a lawsuit was filed if damages are awarded we would appreciate being compensated, but most importantly we would genuinely like assistance from a reputable company or a lawyer in trying to save our house. We have been fighting with the bank to no avail and we were not at fault of anything more then falling behind initially because of a car accident and loss of income. Can someone please contact us on our next move.

Review: I contracted Home Affordable Direct to help me apply for a loan modification. As a requirement, I provided bank statements on a monthly basis. One morning, I went to their office to speak to my rep. and found the [redacted] shredding papers and packing stuff in a hurry. The [redacted] claimed they were relocating and that I would hear from them as soon as the move was complete (he even took a copy of the paperwork I wanted my rep. to file...) Throughout the following weeks I e-mailed them to no avail. My biggest regret is that I gave them a deposit. At the time I did not know this was a scam. NEVER give these companies any money.Desired Settlement: I provided a fee of $2,000.00. According to our agreement "if the company was not able to settle with the bank" I would be entitled to a full refund.

Review: I engaged the services of Home Affordable Direct to help me modify the mortgage on my primary residence in [redacted]. [redacted] who is one of the leaders of the company promised me to get my $3,200 a month mortgage to about $2,500 and the new principal balance of my loan to about $390,000. In addition, I also asked [redacted] to help me with a $200,000 TD Bank home equity judgment that was about to be won against me. He promised to send someone to court to negotiate on my behalf. He charged me $275 which I paid on the spot for that service. He never sent anyone and the judgment is now on my credit for collection. As for the loan modification, the company got me a temporary interest step up program where my interest rate will start at 3.25% and go back up to 5% where it started after 7 years. In the end, I ended up with a payment of $2878 - almost $400 more monthly than [redacted] promised and a new principal amount of $469,000 which is $79,000 more than [redacted] promised. When we last spoke we agreed that he would debit $1,000 from my Chase checking account if he could get the payment down to the $2,500 and the principal to $390,000 as he promised. He did not do any of these things and now the loan modification is completed. To add insult to injury his company debited $1,500 out of my account out of the blue. He claimed that they tried several times and their check was bounced. Of course his company never called me to complain about the 4 or 5 bounced checks because they knew I did not authorize this $1500 to be taken out. In the end they charged me $2,775 for simply mailing paperwork to HSBC and get a mediocre deal. I will end up paying more in the long run with this deal. [redacted] claimed that they are entitled to get paid in fully because they got me out of foreclosure. This was not the deal as I could have gotten myself out of foreclosure and have done so before. He grossly misled me to believe that he could get me a way better deal then his firm did.Desired Settlement: I am seeking a refund of $1775 because Home Affordable Direct only earned the initial $1000 that I paid for the modification service since they did not deliver on their promises. I've tried to work this out wit [redacted] personally as I was instructed but he has consistently ignored my texts and dodged my phone calls only picking up to tell me that he will call me back but never does. At some point he said he would mail me a check for $500 acknowledging his company's wrongdoing but I never received that check. I reported the unauthorized debit to Chase but was told that I have to work it out with the company since I was doing business with them.

Review: I listen to [redacted] am radio station most of the time when I'm driving to work and coming home from work at least 5x/wk and I heared home affordable direct advertisement regarding how they can help home[redacted]s modified underwater mortgages. This was in middle of 2013. Since I trusted [redacted] reputation as a company, I called home affordable direct to discuss my situation. I explain my case but actually have second thoughts about them for it is too good to be true to get modified in 60-90 maximum once the papers are submitted to the lender. So I just leave my phone number to [redacted] the agent I spoke to and to give me time to think about it.

September 2013, [redacted] called me and tried to convince me to start the process to get it done before the end of the year since the program can end and change by the next year. He asked me to secure a copy of the following: 2 recent bank statements, 2 recently stabs, recent utility bills, mortgage statements, hardship letter, and to sign the contract to be completed Asap. He told me to set up a meeting with a notary public to have the contract signed and for the payment to be received. Since I don't have the funds to pay home affordable direct using my cheking account I asked if I can use my credit card to pay for the amount of $3200.00 in which he insist the it will be held in a bond in order to process the preceding and it will be refunded if the modification is not possible or met or if I opted to end the modification without any questions or problems. So I gave him the credit card number and was able to collect the $3200.00 fee as agreed. Technically the company prefer check but he made an exception with me. I then comply with all the documents he requested and I met up with the notary public in my house to sign the contract and other documents.

Upon complying the rest of the papers he requested, on September**, 2013 I called him and ask him if I can meet up with him in the office to submit the documents and to be to meet the person whom I am dealing with. So after work I drove to [redacted] to the office of home affordable direct to personally hand him the paper work and to sincerely meet the person and [redacted] of the company who is [redacted]. Since all my paper work is complete as requested, [redacted] re-assured me it will be soon to complete the process in just 60-90 days maximum. I asked him question on how he can help me and the success rate of the company in making the modification happen. He said it is case to case basis and the sooner you have the documents the sooner it will be process. So we shook hands and I shook hands too with [redacted] and they said we will keep in touch in a bi-weekly basis on the status of the case and to not hesitate to call anytime for anything. Weeks have gone by and we exchange conversation about the case. Every time I called he mostly answered and was able to give an assurance that it is under process now. 2 months later I called again to check the status and still the same and he ask again for the recent pay stabs, utility bills, bank statements, and many other stuffs to make sure we are ahead of the game. So I comply all these requirements in s timely manner. Months have gone and there is no good updates but it is still under review and that the bank is the one causig the delay of the process. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt. 60 days have gone and then 90 days no specific updates and I have been dealing with [redacted] my loan officer who deals with calling the negotiating with the lender. [redacted] also can't give any updates but he will talk to [redacted] for anything. Tried calling [redacted] again, his voice mail is even unable to received any messages since it is full. Now comes September 2014 no word yet from home affordable direct but more request for paper works and recent bank statements, utility bills, pay stabs and so on. Then I check the web site of home affordable direct and realized that they are under investigation for fraud and complaints from the costumers. [redacted] on the other hand is no longer working for the company since august 2014 but still reassuring when I spoke to him I'm September that it is still under review by the bank. The last time I spoke to [redacted] was in October and he disclosed that the company is being investigated and he is no longer working there. And sad to say he can't help me now since all the phone lines of the company is no longer working.

So now I need to have some answers to how I can get a refund on the fee I paid worth $3200.00 and how do I go about in processing this complaint since there was no modification. And as per mortgage lender they have only submitted the initial step for the modification that they are representing me. No paper work was submitted to initiate the process with the lender. I also would like to get re-assurances that the documents I submitted with my bank accounts and personal information like social security number, addresses, statements be return to my possession to avoid identity theft.Desired Settlement: I would like the money be refunded to my credit card and to sent back all the documents I sent over to home affordable direct for hippa purposes and to avoid identity theft. Please reply to my email account or phone number once this is read and received. Thank you for your kind considerations.

Review: My husband and I heard a commercial on 98.7 FM early June/July 2013. We called to find out about the loan modification.

We spoke to a [redacted] on the phone. We eventually signed up to have our interest rate and possibly our principal reduced. A closing rep came to our home, notarized the documents and collected 1% of the 3% required to handle the loan modification on our behalf. We sent the requested documents over the next several months. We eventually received a letter from [redacted] stating that the loan would not be modified. Home Affordable Direct advised us that this happens often and that they would reapply for another program. By April 2014, we sent emails and mail which requested that Home Affordable reimburse 100% of the upfront fees paid.

Since then, we sent other requests and spoke to representatives, [redacted], [redacted], [redacted] and the latest was [redacted]. I also called [redacted] and spoke to the [redacted] and he indicated that Home Affordable Direct had missed scheduled appointments and that their callbacks would go to voice mail.

We have not received any additional calls or updates from Home Affordable direct. They are not responding to phone calls, emails or answering the phone.Desired Settlement: 100% refund as promised.

Review: on November 2013 I gave them $1250.00 for a loan modification on my home at [redacted].

I have contacted them on numerous occasions, each time I am told that a new account manager is handling my case then I am asked to submit the same documents over and over which I have complied. I have received confirmation from the account manager for those documents. When I call for a follow up to find out the status of my modification, which takes many calls, I am told excuses that range from busy, not in, new account manager is handling my account or the previous documents have been lost or misplaced and I need to resubmit them again.Desired Settlement: I want my refund for $1250.00 plus interest and an apology

Review: It has been almost ten months since we first started working with Home affordable Direct. [redacted] told us it would take 30 to 45 days. Now we were told the office is no longer open and it is impossable to get a hold of [redacted], unless we call [redacted] . They contact [redacted] and then maybe he calls us back. We gave him $!500 on a credit card for payment and have yet to see anything done. I have a phone number for [redacted]

,Desired Settlement: We want our money back, or the matter resolved as promised
