Home Inspector Consultants Reviews (%countItem)

Home Inspector Consultants, Highland, IN shared excellent information during first telephone contact. The inspection (Bill W.) was scheduled rapidly. He explained thoroughly each item he checked:, why, what was positive, and what future maintenance was advised. When an issue was noted, he went even deeper into the matter. I learned so much! I felt like I got my money's worth in education alone.
The inspection report was thorough, professionally and expediently done, plus it came with a year-long home warranty. Great company to work with. Kudos to inspector Bill, who kept smiling in spite of my massive questions, each of which he thoroughly addressed.
The issues discovered were graciously addressed by the sellers, which saved me almost $20 K when I was strapped trying to buy a home during Stage 1 COVID-19 parameters, and my income was greatly reduced. 5 stars

My new property was inspected by, Home Inspectors, prior to purchase on, 3/25/20. Upon inspection, I was informed that everything within the units were good to go, and working properly. Since I moved in last week, I’ve experienced rails in bathroom, not properly installed. All are currently on floor, as they have fallen, with a touch. The biggest concern comes, as all 3 refrigerators were cleared by inspector, as working. This is not the case. Refrigerators in 2 units have not been working, since I’ve moved in. In addition, they weren’t plugged in during inspection, so not sure how they were cleared. Within my week of living at property, I’ve place multiple calls and emails to Michael, Jon, and ***. I’ve only heard from Michael, once within this week. Any other correspondence, I’ve had to initiate with no assistance from, Home Inspectors or their vendor for warranty services, RWS Home Service Contracts. RWS sent one email, and has only been available to speak once, to inform me I had to find my own repair person. RWS, does not have technicians in my area, which was not disclosed when then sold me warranty. I find this very odd, since they knew the address, prior to offering warranty. Furthermore, you’d think after coming off a holiday weekend, someone would be in touch. This is not the case. I have tried multiple times to call them with the repair person, I was able to find for next steps. It’s been crickets. I’m constantly being told by ***, of Home Consultants when I reach out to them, Michael is the owner and makes the decisions, but he is not available. Home Inspectors did not do a proper inspection, and sold a warranty that is pretty much fraud, as none of what I was told has come to fruition, including them having a technician to service need. I have a tenant slated to move in w/no refrigerator. I have lived in my unit a week, no refrigerator. Current tenant refrigerator, doesn’t work properly (corrosion, doors not closing, doesn’t get cold.

Hello,

It's my understanding that this complaint has been withdrew by the client. I would be glad to further assist in this matter if necessary. Again, I believe this file has been addressed.

We had this company come out to do our home inspection prior to purchasing our house. They provided our report that had incorrect information on it such as age of air conditioner as well as we had problems within the house we felt should have been caught in the inspection and prevented us from paying for the repairs. When trying to contact the company initially they seemed as if they were going to be helpful. They informed an owner would be contacting me and to be patient. After about a week I emailed asked for an update and received no response. After two weeks I emailed again as they do not have a number to contact directly. The number they provide is dispatch who was very rude when trying to reach someone to resolve the issue. I’ve waited two weeks and had zero response.

Dear Revdex.com Dispute Resolution and to those who may be concerned,

This letter is in response to the complaint filed by *** in reference to the Revdex.com Case # ***

On June 10th, 2019, our company conducted a home inspection for our client, ***, at ***., ***. The appointment start time was at 9:30am and lasted to approx. 11:30am.

Our services included a 90 day mechanical warranty through Residential Warranty Services. The policy has a maximum policy amount of $500 for the mechanical warranty which, according to RWS, was utilized by the client. This occurred around July 18th. The claim may have been approved for the HVAC or for the plumbing issue, we are not certain.

The client contacted us on August 5th about an HVAC issue. According to the client, the furnace blower motor was replaced and wheel cleaned and the air conditioner refrigerant added to the ac unit itself as there was a leak. The client was instructed to follow the same protocol to properly address the concern by communicating their concern via email. Once received, we would then go through our company process to address the concern. The client was instructed to make a warranty claim on the items and that we would contact them.
According to the report, the furnace and air conditioning were functional at time of inspection. However, in the report it was recommended that the furnace cabinet was dirty. It appeared to be from construction debris and that we recommended service & cleaning. See Furnace image.
The air conditioner was also functional at time of inspection as it was 70outside and cooling the house. However the report noted there was debris / cottonwood attached to exterior AC unit and that we recommended servicing & cleaning of the unit. See attached Air Conditioner image.
As far as a refund for neglecting to identify the issues of the furnace and air conditioner, we believe that would be baseless. The home inspection, and the client, agreed that the furnace and air conditioner were functional at the time of inspection. The furnace was ran through a full cycle and visually inspected. We did recommend that the furnace be cleaned and serviced. The air conditioner was operated, the system cooled the home, and it was serviceable at time of inspection. We recommended in the report that the air conditioner be serviced due to the debris / cottonwood.

The defects that occurred several months after our inspection are no fault of our company and its due diligence.
