Homeowners Financial Group USA Reviews (26)

Review: Feb/May 2014: This company presented us with documents for a re-finance of our home in which figures and percentages were written and presented on paper which we still have. We were unecessarily strung along and were denied any definate reason why until I confronted the presenter ([redacted]) in a series of texts, emails and telephone calls. My fiance, [redacted] also assisted with this. [redacted] admitted that the delay was due to the company or him not locking in the figures and percentages that were agreed upon. Due to the increase in mortgage rates, and the companies refusal, the whole deal was out the door. We agreed upon a refund of our money spent when we received another call (a month later) from [redacted] stating the rates had dropped and a new cash out re-finance was agreed upon. Again documents were exchanged and signed and all documents requested were provided. We were strung along for the next few months without any definative reason why. When confronted, [redacted] lied and twisted the truth until we finally put a date for this to end which was this last week. 7 months of hell we went through and completed every part or task we were asked to do. We have not heard from this company since and would like the Revdex.com to assist in having the company honor the contract which we still have on paper. Both the first and second. If they cannot, we would like all our expenses in this matter paid for as it was a breach in their contract which led to the fault of this agreement. This is the our first step in mitigating this issue before we bring a legal representative into the matter.Desired Settlement: We would like the refinance completed immediately with a significant reduction in costs and/or commissions, to include, but not limited to money paid to Homeowners Financial Group, [redacted] or any person/entity associated with and related to as indicated on the documents presented to us.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

I had the absolute worst experience dealing with Homeowners Financial. My husband and I are teachers and we went through a program called Homes for Heros so we could start the home buying process. They connected us with Homeowners Financial. They were extremely unprofessional. The loan officer could literally care less about customer service. I waited almost a week after getting my documents to her until I emailed her and asked her if we qualified-she then said Ill look today-sorry for the delay. She calls and says "Sorry you have too much student loan debt you need 10,000 down payment." We went through a different company and happy to say, that we just moved into our new home! We were approved for 200k and the other company got us the Home in Five grant for our downpayment. DO NOT DEAL with this company. We are so happy we went with Alliance Home Loans instead!

After working with Homeowners over the past 5 weeks, on a simple home purchase, I am completely disappointed in their professionalism, communication skills and customer service. From day 1, the experience was similar to dentist, and in the end, made car buying seem like a day at the park. Constant resigning of 'lost documents', lost Power of Attorney doc. submitted 3 weeks prior to close, caused 2 full signings (2 actual full signings) - ended up at a coffee shop at 8pm Friday night for the final act. Just wish anyone, in the first 5 weeks, gave 1/4 the effort they gave on Friday at 5 when I was seriously walking, from the 'should have been', 'slam dunk', of a deal. Constant finger pointing from Title Company, whom Homeowners chose, back and forth, never once were they on same page, literally and figuratively. We heard every excuse in the book, felt like a high school teacher the day the project is due. In the end, I had to copy and paste emails just to show what was asked for, what was said, when they said we would do this, do that, right down to the many "I will call you today", that turned into 3 days later, numerous times. I felt like they were doing me a favor in having them work our loan. Every step of the process was like that nasty wisdom tooth that just won't budge! Most unprofessional experience in the home mortgage world I have ever experienced. Nearly walked from the deal just so they would not get paid their outrageous fees, will forever wish I had. I feel by closing the deal with 'them' I have just fueled and condoned their hideous practices. This 'vent' is to, in some small way, hope I can keep someone from thinking twice before working with them, or in the least, run when you get the 'feeling'.... you've been had.

This was my very first home and I am so happy I went with this company. I was very nervous about even getting a loan as my credit isn't the best and I didn't have very much money to use for the down payment. Plus, I decided I wanted to buy with only two months to spare, so I was on quite a deadline. When I first spoke to Laurie, she was super friendly and very efficient. I think she was more excited than me when I found out that I was approved for a loan and I loved that excitement. Laurie and her team (Ronnie and Dawna) were amazingly personable and crazy quick to respond to my questions and concerns once I found a place and the process began in earnest. They kept me updated on what stage the loan was in (the videos they sent were very cute) and were always upfront with what they needed. Even with my so so credit and a FHA loan, they were able to get me a fantastic interest rate. Laurie is big bundle of positivity and I loved her energy and excitement about where the process was. They helped me go from initial bid to clear to close in only 25 days!! They worked their butts off for me and they now have a customer for life.

Austin B[redacted], Sarah S[redacted] and their team made our loan process smooth. They were friendly, explained the process in a clear and understandable way, and found us the most competitive rate and closing fees out of all the organizations we shopped around with. Austin and Sarah took the time to explain all of our questions even no matter how technical or how confused we were. They helped us to keep moving forward and even got the title company on track. We felt Austin and Sarah were truly looking out for on interests and representing us. They were the only group we talked to that we felt communicated honestly with us from start to finish. We hope to use again and recommend to everyone!

Had been working on a refinance and the loan officer said not to make the current months payment. Days before closing, the loan officer sent an email stating that the refinance wasn't going to work.
