Review: I had approached Honda Of Manhattan for getting on lease Honda Accord. Accordingly I provided all the desired details and was assured that I will get vehicle on lease. I provided a check of 500 USD to the showroom which was en-cashed. However before collecting the vehicle I was informed that it was not possible for them to provide me vehicle on lease as my H1B visa expiry was due on Nov 2015. Since it was not possible for them to provide me the vehicle, I requested them to return me my money since they had en-cashed my check. I was told that they will return it to me in 2 weeks time, I was okay wit the same and left the place. It is now more than a month since I have been trying to reach them on a daily basis. They promise me that I will receive the check within next couple of days every time I call them. But I have still not received the check.Desired Settlement: I need to receive my refund check of 500 USD as soon as possible.

Review: On July *, 2015, a salesman [[redacted]] discussed a car - Honda Fit 2015 EX Blue. We agreed on price, and he received deposit of $520 from me by charging my credit card. The car was never physically present, and I surely never had test drive of that car. It was promised to bedelivered next day (July *) and be available for my pickup after 2pm.Next morning, July *, [redacted] called me and informed me that the car is not available, and likely not be available for several days to come.I attempted at least 4 times to call Honda Manhattan management after that - with no avail. My calls never went beyond operator. I left my #, but no1 called back. Therefore, I cancelled my purchase, and informed [redacted] about it over the phone. I requested refund of my $520.[redacted] refused to process cancellation and refund and insists that the car was fully purchased, even though it was not and is not available.I also emailed the dealership about this, but I have no confirmation or response from that either.Desired Settlement: I want refund of $520 within 3 business days.

Review: My vehicle broke down in Manhattan and was towed to Honda Manhattan @ [redacted].I own a 2005, CR-V with 235k miles on it. The transmission went' and they said they could get me a used one for $3575 to which I agreed on November [redacted].I was told that the tranny they got did not fit,and now, the cost went to almost $5k.I told them that $5k was too much to spend on a vehicle of that age and that many miles.(10 yrs & 235K mi)Finally on November [redacted],[redacted] offered me $1k for the vehicle, and I accepted. Since then, I've been lied to and given the run around with no end in sight. I've contacted both NY and CT consumer affairs and I thought we had reached a settlement as I received a letter from CT consumer affairs saying a settlement was reached and was called on 2/**/15 by [redacted]. again I am getting the run around and still no check. I offered to drive back to NY to exchange title for the check and they give me a runaround. This has been going on since November 2014.Desired Settlement: I just want the money ($1,000.00) that was offered for my car that they have possessed from November [redacted].

Response:
At this time, I have been contacted directly by Honda Manhattan regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
They claim that they need time to get check from headquarters in New Jersey ([redacted])but they want the title first. I do not trust them, as they have been lying for 4 months about the check being in the mail, or it was [redacted], etc. I told them I would drive from Connecticut when they get the check and I would give them the title. An even exchange. This seems to be a problem for them. I do not believe they have any intention of living up the agreement they made.

I just wanted to let you know that today I drove to Manhattan and received a check in the amount of $1,000.00 from Honda Manhattan. I also had NYC consumer affairs working on thisissue, they helped broker the title issue and it is finally over. I would like you to know a couple of things, though:[redacted]: They actually sold the car over 4 months ago to the service station around the corner from their dealership. This man told me that he had already repaired the vehicle and was giving it to his son, but couldn't register it without the title.2nd: He was the man that I actually received the check from; his business around the corner.I just wanted you to know, for possibly future reference, the type of deceitful people we were dealing with.
