Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 11, 2014/06/18) */ We do apologize for the delays in getting the vehicle to the customer, but we had to make sure the car was safe and would pass a State safety inspectionSome of the parts had to be ordered and some of the work needed required that the car be sent to the Nissan dealerThese are the reasons for the delays, we wanted to insure a safe vehicle would be sent to the customerThe registration has been completed and the customer has acknowledged receipt

Honolulu Volkswagen is not at faultMr [redacted] opted out on the recommended diagnostic in replacing his steering control moduleHe stated he will fix it himself and that he was a mechanic which was notedMr [redacted] Armasiu had his vehicle towed a few days later at Honolulu Volkswagen due wanting to reprogram his vehicleUnfortunately, we weren't able to reprogram his key due to the ECM not workingWe recommended he replaced the ECMAgain, Mr [redacted] opted out on the recommended diagnostic to replace ECMWe compensated him on the diagnostic

Unfortunately, Mr [redacted] purchased a new [redacted] on December 4th which is prior to him receiving this offer with [redacted] of AmericaMr [redacted] will need to contact [redacted] of America to dispute the matterListed below is the contact number [redacted]

After reviewing the customer history we find that the vehicle was in on 01/11/ with notes that the vehicle was towed in with all dash warning lights on and a dead batteryWe have no history showing customer authorization to replace the bad battery at that timeIf the check engine light nor any other dash warning light are now on it would be due to battery issuesWe are happy to check customers battery and check for any fault codes at this timeAs far as any body panels not being correctly aligned sine last reoairs we are happy to inspect them at no charge.Thank you,Brian B [redacted] Honolulu Cadillac, GMC, Buick

I am rejecting this response because: It does not sound sincere at all. She makes it sound as though it was not a big deal. It's a very big deal to me because I trusted *** when he told me he ordered my car in April of this year. I also trusted him when he told me it would take approx months to get my car and that he was following up on the order every week, but could never give me an ETA

Bought a brand new GMC acadia and its been a nightmare! The service department has the worst customer service Ive ever experienced! Even if this company was going to pay you to take one of their cars, Id run the other way and never look back! Thats how horrible they are! Ive actually looked around for hidden cameras b/c I thought I must be on some prank TV show b/c this can not be how they actually treat their customersIm totally serious when I say its been an absolute nightmare dealing with the service departmentDo yourself a favor and go to any place other than here

My car went in 7/6/for a steering geer to be fixed, it was released 7/15/days to be fixed, there is still a poping sound at high speed, the same sound when I took it in the previous time, I am just tired of going in for the same problem and paying for it

I am rejecting this response because: As already stated in our original complaint we took our VW van to Honolulu VW times over the course of a month period and they were unable to repair anything we paid them for which is why we kept bringing it backThey had our van for a total of daysTo date, the air conditioner, door lock, speedometer, coolant leak and loss of power have not been fully resolved/repairedHonolulu VW charged us for unnecessary work when they told us the power decline we experienced after picking up the van from them was due to "very old" sparkplugs and sparkplug wiresHowever, the existing sparkplugs and wires were only months old and had only been used for less than miles as documented by the invoices previously submitted from Honolulu VW and S*** Auto RepairThe last time we took the van to Honolulu VW on 6/15/they kept our van for days and they told us they had test driven it for miles and that everything was fixed with the exception of a replacement part for the speedometer that they claimed must have been defectiveBased on the mileage documented by Steve's Auto Repair on 8/10/and the shortest distance from Honolulu VW to our home they could not have test driven our van so claiming they drove miles was NOT TRUE Most importantly after days they returned the van and it caught on fire putting my husband's life in dangerWith our experiences to this point, of their dishonesty, their risking my husband's life and their failure to resolve/repair anything they were paid to repair we refuse to take the van back to them to resolve the foregoing issuesHonolulu VW has done nothing but told us untruths time again, and most importantly, could have killed my husbandThus, we are not willing to have anything we drive be worked on by Honolulu VW ever againWe are currently pursuing getting our money back working with Visa so it simply is not true that we did not let Honolulu VW know of these problemsI called Honolulu VW on 7/11/asking to have the manager call me backI don't recall her name, however, this was a womanI left a total of messages for her and to date she has not returned my callsI spoke to Gary D*** on Monday,7/11/I believe contacting them on the first business day after the van caught on fire constitutes bringing it to their attention right away as did the multiple times we needed to return because their repairs failed
We are the original owner of our VW van so we have been maintaining our "nearly year old car" for about yearsWe did everything Honolulu VW recommended, paying over $8,including $for a speed sensor they told us is probably defective, so they were ordering a second one, which we have never receivedWe immediately called Honolulu VW after the van caught on fire driving home from picking it up from their facilityWe are currently working with Visa refuting all chargesWe recently contacted National Volkswagen of America at 800-822-and talked to KyleHe listened to our situation and said they can and will file a complaint against Honolulu VW, however, the National company has no recourse for a VW out of warranty
I will attach the most recent letter we sent to Visa proving that Honolulu VW did not test drive our van prior to returning it to us as was indicated on their invoice #opened 6/15/to 7/8/2016, picked up 7/9/It is likely that the fire and resulting hazardous situation caused by the inadequate and/or possibly negligent repairs by Honolulu VW could have been prevented if Honolulu VW test drove the van prior to returning it to usClearly, if they had test driven the car a mere few miles, they would have discovered the inadequate repairs that led to the van catching on fire and risking my husband's life
