Very reliable & honest company, provides great reliable service & a well done roofing job.

Did an excellent job on my new roof. Completed in one day and they cleaned up spotless when they were done. Very Professional.

New roof looks beautiful so we decided to have the ceiling fixed in the garage and Beto did an excellent job. You can even tell it had been repaired. Highly recommend.

Thank you so much for the feedback. We take great pride in the work we do and if you have any concerns or questions please don't hesitate to let us know at 317-677-4755

I signed a contract with Hoosier Contractors in July 2017 for repairs to my home roof, roofs on two out buildings, gutters on the home, and some interior damage due to roof leaks. Insurance adjuster came out and met with the representative of HC to review the damage and submit estimates for the damage. Photos were taken of the exterior and interior damage at the time of the estimate. I asked the HC representative at signing how long he thought the work would take, he responded that he thought it could all be done in a day.
When the insurance estimate came back for the work, HC felt there were some repairs that were not addressed in the estimate and at their urging I engaged a public adjuster firm to negotiate with the insurance company. The public adjuster firm was ***.
I would note that another HC rep said it looked like everything would be covered.
Initial approval for funds came from my insurance company 8/24/2017. The roofing work was started on 11/29/2017 and the house was completed 11/30/2017. The roofs on the other two buildings had not been included on the work order for the roofing crew and there were insufficient materials to complete the two out buildings. The out buildings required another wait for materials and two more additional work days.
After much prompting gutter installation was scheduled for either late December or early January. I was informed at scheduling that only 88 feet of guttering had been approved by the insurance company. I elected to replace all gutters at an additional cost out of pocket.
In February, interior work had still not been completed. I was informed by the public adjuster from *** that the insurance company needed a second estimate for interior work. I told the adjuster that they should send someone out to look at the damage as it had worsened due to the delay in installation of the roof. No one came out to reassess the situation.
On 2/28 an interior crew member was sent out to do the repairs to the ceilings. He looked at the damage and said he could not do the repairs because they were beyond the scope of his written instructions. He took photos and sent them to HC. I discussed this issue with HC office personnel and with the company owner with no satisfaction. The interior repair worked sent updated photos to the company owner who later called me and said “You have mold, you need to get every living breathing thing out of your house right now.” He said I needed mold remediation.
Said mold remediation was not covered by insuarance as it was never addressed in the original estimate even though it existed in much less seriousness. The delay in getting the repairs to the roof allowed more water damage to make the situation much worse.
Now I am $3000 dollars poorer due to mold remediation and still do not have my interior damages repaired. I would not recommend either Hoosier Contractors or *** to anyone. They have refused to acknowledge responsibility for increased water damage to my home.

Hoosier Contractors Response • Jun 22, 2018

The mold was already present in Ms. home prior to her signing a contract with Hoosier Contractors. Once mold has begun to grow, simply replacing the roof will not correct the problem. We did in fact replace the roof and did our best to protect her home. Her own insurance carrier did not pay for the mold as they realized it was a preexisting condition and something that Ms. had been living with prior to the claim. Hoosier Contractors is not a mold remediation company and we cannot address issues that were not part of the contract Ms. signed. We notified her of our concerns at the start of our relationship and she did not address them then. We have worked with her to protect as much as we could but this is beyond what our company does. Ultimately, if someone notices mold growing in their home getting that taken care of right away should be the absolute first priority.

Customer Response • Jun 22, 2018

I would like to respond to Hoosier Contractor’s response to my review of their company.

Point 1. Hoosier Contractors had no less than 3 persons who participated in the review of the damage to the interior of my home. The first person came when I signed the contract, the second when the insurance adjuster came to make measurements and take photos etc., the third came out and examined all the damage when we signed on the paperwork for ordering shingles for the roof repairs. Hoosier Contractors has photos on file of the interior damage in July of 2017 when the repair adjuster was present. These photos show minor water spot damage and a few dark spots present on the ceilings. No mention was made of mold by any of the parties involved with the adjustment process.

Point 2. Hoosier Contractors did in fact replace my roof and did a fine job. However, monies were first released by my insurance company in August 2017 and the roof was not replaced until November 29 and 30, 2017. During the time between the approval of initial funds and the installation the area received a substantial amount of rain. Hoosier Contractors had contracted for the roof installation and did not take any action to further protect the house or prevent further damage to the interior of the house.

Point 3. The insurance adjustment documents allow for the removal of five areas of the ceiling drywall, removal of insulation over the areas, replacement of the drywall, and painting. Hoosier Contractors was aware of the scope of the repairs to be made and in fact had scheduled an interior contractor to make the listed repairs. The interior contractor came to my home finally on February 28, 2018. He looked at the damages and stated he could not do them because they were beyond the scope of the damage listed on his work sheet. The repairs were based on the photos taken in July 2017. I had advised the public claims adjuster that he needed to have someone come out to review the scope of the work as conditions had worsened due to roof replacement delays. It was at this time when the interior contractor took new photos and submitted them to Hoosier Contractors that the word mold first came into play. Hoosier Contractors at this time referred me to mold remediation specialists but still were planning on doing the repairs once remediation was complete.

Point 4. My insurance company did not refuse to cover the mold remediation because of it being a pre-existing condition. The primary reason listed for the refusal was that the amount approved for the repair had been signed off on Hoosier Contractors prior to the interior contractor coming to the home.
If someone had come out to review the interior damage as I had suggested, perhaps the second submitted estimate might have been sufficient to cover both the mold remediation and the interior repair.

In my opinion, Hoosier Contractors is trying to pass the buck to me, the homeowner, and failing to accept any responsibility for the damages. There was never any mention of concerns regarding mold prior to Februaray 28, 2018 when the company owner became aware of the presence of mold.

We are very pleased with the work performed by Hoosier Contractors. From the first encounter at our home to completion of the roof repair, drywall repair, and painting, the experience was uneventful and seamless. Everyone was professional and always available to answer questions. I would not hesitate to contact them again for any future needs.

Hoosier Contractors Response • Jun 11, 2018

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are glad to hear that we were able to make this process as easy as possible for you. We are always available at 317-677-4755 if you need anything in the future.

The project started in August 2017 and was complete in April 2018. All of the other reviews where they say they take your money fast and then don’t respond are true. I wish I had listened. I only got them to finally do the work when I told them I had someone else to do it, then they showed up and didn’t finish. The pictures make for a good story that I can laugh about now, but save yourself the trouble. Do some research and learn from my mistake.

We are apologize for any inconvenience or delay that may arise as a result of this process. While this process can be time consuming we always want our clients to know that they can reach out to us anytime to answer any questions. If there are any more concerns or questions you may have please call us directly at 317-677-4755.

Hoosier Contractors appeared unsolicited and informed that the roof of my property sustained the damage. They said that they will assume all the responsibilities dealing with the insurance company if I will sign the contract with them.
I asked if this contract can be void in case they will not the job and was given positive answer.
Fast forward 3-4 months no work has been completed and after multiple promises to finalize the questionable items with the insurance company they completely disappeared.
At that time I contacted the insurance informing them that I will hire different company to complete the job.
Recently I received the note from their attorney asking if I intend to breach the contract and sending copy of the contract that upon close examination shows small print stating "Hoosier contractors are entitled to any payment insurance company makes to the owner". This is pure scam and using pressure tactics to sign contracts in order to illegitimately infuse the profits without doing the work.

Hoosier Contractors Response • Apr 21, 2018

Unfortunately the delays in this process are a result of the insurance company. We have attempted to explain this. We do not collect any money until the day the work begins. We would be happy to move forward with this process if the customer is prepared to. Please call us at 317-677-4755 so we can discuss our options.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have already made multiple prior attempts to reach the business for any updates. Insurance company did not have any records about business contacting them either. Too much time passed since the last communication without any updates. Why would the business try to collect the money for the job they did not complete? Hoosier Contractors showed the damage to the roof initially, yet they thought it is ok to wait and not return the calls for 9-10 months before trying to collect the money ? If the roof was really damaged- how can you wait that long without causing further damage to the house and the interior? If the roof was not damaged- are they running a scam operation?

I did not want to take a chance and hired somebody else to replace the roof after reaching out to the insurance company.

Regards

Hoosier Contractors Response • Apr 24, 2018

It sounds like the biggest concern is the lack of communication since September. During that time we were simply waiting on a response from the insurance adjuster to resolve the additional items that the customer was seeking to get covered. They refused to take the next steps in our process until this was completed. Given that these disputed items being negotiated were part of the potential roofing project no work could have been completed until that was done. We were put in this holding pattern at the customer's behest.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Incorrect. Insurance company was always responsive. They do not have any records of Hoosier Contractors trying to move the process after the initial contacts. There were no reasonable actions taken by the Hoosier Contractors to resolve the situation. Initial insurance check was mailed to me in July. I did not cash it until I needed to pay the contractor who actually did the job in December. So the excuse about insurance company dropping the case is incorrect. My multiple calls to the Hoosier Contractors office and sales rep were answered with promises to look into the matter, but no solution ever provided and no calls were ever followed up on.

If Hoosier Contractors are so customer service oriented, why not making every reasonable attempt to fix damaged roof within reasonable time frame? Or house can be ok 10-12 month with damaged roof? Why the first contact was made by the attorney clearly trying to extort the money for the job that they had no intention of completing to begin with?

Regards

Hoosier Contractors did a great job on our roof! Great price and even bettet clean-up. Strongly recommend!

Thank you for the review. We are glad to hear that you had a great experience.

Had hail damage to my roof. Went with Hoosier Contractors. They did a fantastic job. They were responsible for negotiating with my insurance company, etc. I did nothing. The roof looks great. THANKS, Hoosier Contractors.

Thank you for the review. We are glad to hear that you had a great experience.

We hired the above company to replace our siding and roof after a hail storm in April 2017. The agreement was that they'd get both the house completely wrapped and roof our whole house. per the signed agreement if they didn't get the insurance company to pay for all of this we were out of the contract. The roof was replaced per the agreement. Hoosier Contractors was unable to get all of the siding for house replaced. Therefore we opted to go a different route for the siding replacement. According to our insurance company, the payment for damaged siding was submitted to Hoosier Contractors. We are still waiting on our refund of $4,976.35 from Hoosier Contractors. We have sent e-mails, called, and sent a letter in the mail. When we call them everybody is "busy" including managers. We don't get e-mails returned either. We have been told by the company that our account is closed and everything is done. We have been waiting on this money since August 2017.

Hoosier Contractors Response • Jan 04, 2018

Hoosier Contractors has contacted this customer about the refund in question. After speaking with the customer and explaining that not all funds have been released from the Insurance Company, we are not able to refund an amount that we have not been paid on. The funds we have received from the Insurance Company does not equal the RCV claim amount. We spoke to the Insurance Company and the Adjuster will call the insured to explain in detail. We also explained to the customer that once the work is complete, the IC will release the remaining funds. After explaining this to the customer the funds have not been released by the Insurance Company, Hoosier Contractors believes there is now a better understanding.

After speaking with Hoosier Contractors, we contacted our insurance company. Per the insurance company we had to contact *** Adjusters as they were listed as our 3rd party reps. which was contacted by Hoosier Contractors. Stefano from *** informed us that the remaining amount on the claim was $3306 and some change.. He also informed us that the replacement cost for the roof, siding, gutters and paint were paid out on the initial check from our insurance company. By our calculations there is still roughly $1600.00 that is unaccounted for. Stefano was supposed to get in touch with Hoosier Contractors and inquiry about the initial payment of the siding, gutters, paint and why there is no refund for services not performed. We have an e-mail from an employee of this company stating the amount to be refunded and we have yet to see it.

Hoosier Contractors has been in contact with both Stefan from *** Claims and Mr. regarding this claim throughout the process. Stefan has spoken to Mr. on multiple occasions regarding the additional amount that will be released by the Insurance Company once the remaining accessories are completed by the homeowner. After speaking with Mr., we do not feel there are any further issues. We will gladly take the time to speak with Mrs. to clarify any misunderstanding.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this response/resolution is satisfactory to me.

After Stephon taking the time to explain what is going on. Now it makes sense.. When we could get Hoosier Contractors to talk with us, all they would say is your account is closed with us.. That really doesn't give us much information.

Regards

Representatives have been very professional and very good at explaining the process for our roof replacement.

I would highly recommend Hoosier Contractors to anyone needing a roofing job completed! I give them a five-star rating for all aspects of their business - especially for being the most customer-focused contractor I've ever worked with. They put on a new roof and gutters for me recently and I can't be more satisfied. Their roofing and gutter crews were fantastic - extremely courteous, efficient, and hard-working. From their sales rep who first came to my door offering to work with my insurance company to replace my hail-damaged roof and gutters, to the Account Manager who guided me through the entire process, to their office staff (with their great customer service), I just can't say enough about how easy they made the process for me. I feel extremely fortunate to have had Hoosier Contractors handle my roofing job!

Hoosier Contractors Response

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review. We are glad to hear you are satisfied with your experience with Hoosier Contractors. We truly value each and every customer.

Hoosier Contractors is a very professional service. They arranged the scheduling of all subcontractors and fought on my behalf to have home damages covered by my insurance company. Their workers started replacement of my 2-story roof early and finished same day! They did a wonderful job cleaning up after the job was completed. Everyone that I have spoken to at the company has been very friendly and helpful.

Hoosier Contractors just replaced my roof and everything was done in a timely fashion once they started and on to the interior painting and finally the gutter work.. I would recommend them as the sales staff did what they said they would .

While removing my old roof before installing new roof the company damaged my wood siding and several trim pieces. they sent someone to look at damage and wanted to just paint over However I have *** coating on my house that was installed five years ago that carries a 25 yr warranty and states any damage that needs to be done to keep my warranty intact must be completed by *** . I contacted company many times and they even told me to hold off on getting repaired that they could send someone to fix the damage but all of the sudden they changed course and threatened me with court. Now they say It was *** s fault for improper install five yrs ago ( NOT TRUE}. I had to go ahead and get damage fixe due to impending winter weather . the company has also not finished the roofing portion of the job in different location on roof but have not come back to fix as of this time but would like payment for the job which I have not done. I payed a pre payment but still hold check from insurance.

Hoosier Contractors Response

The damage that Mr.’s is referring to was the result pre existing conditions that were not caused by Hoosier. We have offered solutions to Mr.s that he considered unsatisfactory and we are both currently working to get this matter resolved. In fact, this has been an ongoing discussion with Mr.’s attorney.

Dear Revdex.com, I am not satisfied because I am sure the damage was done by Hoosier contractors and have enclosed pictures of the damage that was so bad they tore some of the trim pieces 4 or 5 feet high. this kind of negligence was due to the roofing crew being in too big of a hurry while tearing off old roofing. they did not take their time and the company knew it was their fault

That is why they wanted specifics in one email In regards, as to the damage and even went as far as calling *** for an estimate (which I have included some email correspondence where they say they have called *** from ***)

However once they got results they thought estimate to be too high thus they changed their strategy to saying it was Pre-existing to which I say once you see the damage any reasonable person would conclude is just not possible. I also included email from *** (*** ) ***s representative saying the way way *** was applied five years ago could not be the reason for this damage , to which I strongly agree

Thanks

Hoosier Contractors Response

Unfortunately, the issues and repairs requested by the homeowner are a result of pre-existing issues that are outside the scope of the agreed-upon services. In light of that of, Hoosier is still in

communication with the homeowner with regards to his concern and are working with him to get this resolved in an appropriate and timely manner."

dear Revdex.com; the company has done absolutely nothing to resolve this dispute, they just keep saying it was a companies fault that has nothing to do with their own damage that was
Regards,
committed by their workers . it seams they are trying to just wait out any complaints coming in by trying to scare with letters from attorney. I totally reject their argument and just wish they would come finish the work they have not finished and then agree to some kind of settlement on the disputed 1375 dollars of work that had to be done because of their damage to my siding

Again they have never even finished the original job let alone the payment dispute. This company deserves an F on the Revdex.com website.

Installed a new roof. Did an excellent job. Informative and timely. Would definitely hire again.

Hoosier Contractors put a new roof and new gutters on our home. Shortly after the roof was completed, we called to have a piece of flashing fixed. The company did send someone out to fix the flashing. Shortly after the fix, however, the issue with the flashing came back. When the company sent a representative to collect the final check, he also noticed the flashing, took pictures, and said he would report it to the company to fix. We have called the company 5-6 times to have someone come fix the flashing, all since August. Each time, they say they will send someone out, however, no one has come out.

Hoosier Contractors Response

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have reviewed your request and after investigating we will be scheduling a representative to inspect/repair your property in the next 5 business days.

Hoosier Contractors (HC) roofed my home but damaged the mortar where the flashing attaches to the chimney. I was alerted to this by a chimney expert a few days after they completed my job, and when I called HC they sent someone out about a week later… and they admitted they did it wrong and they promised to fix it. 5 months passed by, during which time I periodically called the company, and the receptionist continually assured me they would fix it soon. Finally, I came home from work one night after the sun had set and they were working on the roof in the dark! Two men had torn out all the new flashing and damaged 6 tiles on the roof, re-flashing again in the same exact location and this time it looked absolutely wretched. They did not speak much English and I don’t speak much Spanish, but as far as I understood they said they would come back to replace the damaged tiles in the next few days. They never did fix the damaged tiles, but have attempted to invoice me twice. In response to the first invoice I sent photos showing the date, laying right next to the torn tiles. The apparently sent someone out again when I was not even here, and they added some more tar to cover up the horrible gaps in the flashing. It looks a bit better but I sent new photos with newspaper showing new date, and still damaged tiles. They say they will contact me to look at it together, what dates are good? I give them a list and the dates start going by, no contact. I contact them by email again, they say they thought it was taken care of... With insurance and my contribution I paid $8,500 to HC and they have left 5 completely broken tiles on my roof.

Hoosier Contractors Response

Hoosier Contractors prides itself on holding their employees and subcontractors to the highest industry standards and anything less is unacceptable. Hoosier is one of a few roofing

contractors to achieve the Master Elite contractor with GAF in Indianapolis and has won multiple awards.

Hoosier has reviewed this homeowner’s concern and it has been resolved. As always, the most important work Hoosier does is ensuring our customers receive the best service possible. Hoosier

Contractors sent someone to Mr. property on multiple occasions for inspections and to fix any issues that may have occurred. We were able to pin down the concern and get it corrected.

We appreciate the feedback on this matter and will absolutely address with our staff to prevent this from occurring again.

Ryan from Hoosier Contractors came through our neighborhood and recognized potential issues with our roof. He did a free inspection and found hail damage. He helped us file an insurance claim and they handled everything from then on. Communication was great and they helped us pick the best roof for our house. They included upgrades that other companies who did neighboring houses did not do. Very satisfied with quality and service and will recommend.

Hoosier Contractors Response

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are glad to hear you are happy with your new roof and overall experience with us. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you in the future.
