Thank you for contacting Peoples Gas and allowing us the opportunity to review Mr[redacted]'s account.Gas meters are mechanical devices and unfortunately can stop functioning properlyThe gas meter at this property registered little to zero gas consumption from 05/08/through 03/26/2017.?
Peoples only billed for estimated usage from 03/08/through 03/26/A letter was mailed explaining this to the customer, along with a calculation of estimated consumption charges for that time.? Mr[redacted] was provided with a direct phone number to discuss the charges and any possible concerns, such as the change in usage patterns that he advises of in his complaint.On 08/14/and again on 09/18/Peoples attempted to also reach the customer regarding their concerns and left a voicemail with a direct number for call back.Peoples would appreciate the opportunity to review the customer’s concerns directly with them and to work towards a resolution on this matter.The customer may contact me directly at ###-###-####.Thank you, Kristen ECustomer Relations

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address Mr[redacted]’s concerns.? ? Peoples Gas did conduct maintenance of Company facilities near [redacted] in March of this year.? This work resulted in some of the Customer’s property being disturbed.? We apologize for any
inconvenience this may have caused and for the delay in having the property returned to its original condition.? ? The Company will conduct all necessary restoration to the customer’s satisfaction as soon as possible.? ? [redacted]This letter is in response to the complaint dated October 15, for [redacted]ID: [redacted])Thank you for taking the time to contact Peoples Gas and providing us with the opportunity to review Mr[redacted]s concerns.On October 13, Peoples discovered a leak on the customer's service line at 1[redacted]The gas was turned off for safety and the owner was notified to contact a plumber to have repairs made to the service lineOnce repairs are made, and before service may be restored, the company must receive a Service Installation Record (SIR), from a certified DOT plumber, confirming that the necessary repairs have been made.Except during the winter season, when confirmation that the service line has been repaired is received after 2:P.Mthe service is scheduled to be restored the following business dayDuring the winter months, the company does restore the gas service the same dayWhen Mr[redacted] contacted the company for service restoration, the representative he spoke with incorrectly advised him that gas service would be restored that eveningThe company apologizes for the inconvenience and has followed up with the employee involved for additional training.On October 14, the company received a completed SIR and a reconnection order was scheduled for October 15, Gas service has been restored as scheduled.I hope this information has been helpful; however, if I can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact me directly at ###-###-####, Monday through Friday, 7:A.M- 4:P.M.Sincerely,?

On July 13, the Company issued a monthly invoice for the service period 6/10/??" 7/12/2016, which requested the payment arrangement amount of $due by August 4, 2016.? A ten-day termination notice was also mailed on July 13th.? The notice was sent to the mailing address [redacted] and requested payment of the past-due amount owed on the payment agreement of $by July 25th.? On July 21st at 5:PM and on July 22nd at 9:AM the Company attempted to contact Ms[redacted] by phone to advise the gas service was pending disconnection; however there was no answer.? On July 28th the service was turned off due to non-payment.? On the day of disconnection an online payment was scheduled to process on July 29th for the amount of $206.00.? Ms[redacted] contacted the Company the following day, Friday, July 29th, and a representative scheduled the service to be restored on Monday, August 1stOn July 29th a supervisor referred Ms[redacted] to contact her post office if she is not receiving mailings from Peoples and was having issues with the post office boxIt is Peoples policy to reconnect service for non-payment the following business day.? Ms[redacted] contacted Peoples on Friday, July 29th and the earliest available date to restore the service was Monday, August 1st.? Per Peoples tariff the account is subject to a $reconnection fee, which will be billedThe bill due date for Ms[redacted]’s account is determined by the meter reading schedule, which can vary month-to-month.?
