Howard Johnson Express Inn

Review: we reserved a two double bed room. we are given room 322. upon entering the room we are overcome by the smell of human urine. we immediately call the front desk. no one answered. I walk down to the office and tell them the condition of the room. they state there is only one more more room available and it is only one bed. we stay only cause we are tired and do not wish to drive all over looking for another room. we could not sleep under the covers, if the room was that dirty what is under the covers. the smell was horrible and the room was dirty.

I know this was our decision to stay but no one should be given that room.

I was charged for one night's stay for three rooms at 85.44 each on [redacted] on my [redacted] card. I never made reservations for this date and I have never stayed at this hotel.Desired SettlementI would like a full refund to my [redacted] account.Business Response I show Mr. [redacted] was contacted and a message was left asking him to contact Howard Johnson Customer Care on 7/27. They charged for wrong year and wrong date.I would like a full refund for the 3 nights that I was charged on [redacted] Business Response The guest booked through Howard Johnson on either the website of through the 1-800 number. He did not book directly with the hotel, thus Howard Johnson Customer Care has the information about his booking. From their records and their response it seems that they see three valid reservations. I have typed out the terms and conditions below. When we looked at the reservations we saw that they had been made through either hojo.com or the 800 number so we referred him to customer care so that they could investigate and urged him to contact his credit card company of he thought someone had stolen his card number. When he spoke to customer care he said that he booked through our desk for 2015 even though they had already verified that he had made the reservations with them. We know that this was not possible because we cannot book more that 50 weeks in advance. I understand that Mr. [redacted] is upset that he did not use the rooms that he reserved but the response from customer care does show that there was a valid reservation made.Consumer Response I have heard from Howard Johnson Express Inn, they told me I had to contactcustomer service because a reservations had been made on line. Customer servicetold me I had to deal directly with the Inn, the Inn then said the would not reimbursethe charges. The charged me for three rooms for the night of [redacted] although thereservations I asked for were for 2015.I am not at all satisfied with the way my complaint was handled.[redacted]Business Response [redacted],Each Howard Johnson hotel is independently owned and operated under a Howard Johnson franchise. This means that the property's management is responsible for meeting Howard Johnson standards and for day-to-day operations. After thorough review, we feel the best resolution would be achieved by direct communication between the property management and Saeqa.
