I am extremely dissatisfied and invested a huge amount into this service and do not feel that their refusal to refund me is fair I work in customer service and anytime a client/patient is unhappy with the service they received, we refund their money/investment, regardless of the contract I have several national media contacts who are happy to disclose the poor customer service of IJL

I also dispute IJL's claim that I am not eligible for a refund just bc they can provide the servicethey have showed they were unable to provide the service the entire time I was a memberthey were unable to provide after both of my complaints to themand my account has been on hold for a long time bc I was pursuing a dispute through my credit card company this whole timeafter so many months of horrible customer service and not getting any service provided I am not sure why IJL thinks I would want to start using their service nowthey have shown me no proof that they can get a match I would like, have friendly courteous staff interact with me, or deliver the dates they promised. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.It was never noted that a match would be provided that was not in the same city as myselfWithin the contract it is noted that *** ** is a city of service, and the expectation would be that part of that service would not include people 2+ hours and state lines away.A provision in the contract allows for a person relocating more than miles away to cancel the contractIf the expectation that miles beyond a city of service is too far away to participate in the service then matches farther than miles away would be considered outside of my cityDating a person in the same city as yourself is a very common practice therefore the expectation whether stated or not in the contract and should be treated as such unless otherwise agreed upon by both match parties.I gave no indication that I would be willing to travel hours to see a match, and repeatedly requested for matches within my city to no availOne match was as far away as *** ** which is as far away as *** ** with whom I was also matched with a person thereVery few people intentionally start a long distance relationship, so it is unreasonable to believe that a company meant to match people with the goal of a relationship would not assume thisIt is my belief that IJL did not actually have available matches within miles and instead of disclosing this and offering to cancel the contract with a refund they made matches knowing they would not result in a relationship due to being outside of the requested areaIJL failed to deliver the services on the premise of basic common sense and customs and therefore defrauded me of the cost of the contractThe contract does not state a policy on this premise one way or the other and in such event common sense should prevail.Regards,*** ***

It’s Just Lunch regrets to learn of any dissatisfaction that the consumer has experienced with her membership as this is not the norm with IJLThe consumer has expired and no longer has an active relationship with It’s Just LunchShe joined June, 22, for months, dates, matches and
months of hold timeHer membership terms are for whichever comes later unless hold time is exceeded at which time the membership expires regardless of time or dates remaining. She was welcomed by her Private Search Dating Director and Certified Life Coaching *** on June 24th at which time we reviewed the expectations of the program, the recruitment and selection process and how the overall process would work for the consumer At that time she was also scheduled for her Dating Coaching Session and Face to Face Appointment with our Dating Coach *** which was conducted June 29th, 2016. The consumer was presented two matches, both of which she declined; one due to age of the match and one due to attractionAt this time the consumer became concerned about her membership and was escalated to our supervisor team to resolve her concernsIn the resolution process we were informed by the consumer to not contact her further, and IJL has respected this requestWe urge the consumer to reach out to us directly to resolve her concerns as our goal is to promote fun and excitement and a proactive approach to one’s personal life and to provide a positive dating experienceThank you

IJL is unable to provide me with matches that meet the requirements in which I fully discussed with the multiple dating directors that were presented to meI had little to nothing in common with the dates that I was set up with by IJL and these dates agreed as wellTherefore, IJL was not able to provide me with appropriate matches that met my minimal requirements.I was also lied to by one dating director who stated that all members of IJL pay for the serviceI met matches that did not pay for the service who were provided my IJL.I will only accept a partial refund only.*** *** [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted]. Please add your rejection comments below. I just read the response provided by IJL and feel that it does not capture what actually happened. I received 4 matches from IJL, the final two did not meet the criteria I had previously set forth.  So that was a total of 4 matches, 1 turned down due to attraction and 3 due to not meeting my criteria. I attempted multiple times to reach out to IJL to resolve the situation, as both they and I have previously stated, however, my experience in dealing with their customer service was not satisfactory. The only option I was given about how to correct the difficulties I was having was to assign me to a new dating coach. That was the only option given. As I outlined in my first message, that was not a reasonable solution given that the services offered by the dating coaches did not match the description I was given when I signed up for the service. I was promised a warm and close working relationship with my dating coach in order to facilitate appropriate matches. This was not the result I had with either of the 2 dating coaches I worked with.  When I called IJL after the problems I experienced with the second dating coach I was told my only option was to work with a new coach, and that I could not receive a refund. I spoke with multiple customer service representatives, each of which told me that my only option was to be assigned a new coach. They were unwilling to accept feedback about their fraudulent claims, and failed to take responsibility for the inadequacies in the matches I was given.I was frustrated with their lack of helpfulness, as well as the rude behavior I experienced on several of these calls. I asked to not be contacted by them after speaking with 3 separate customer service representatives, none of which had been helpful. At that time, because no one was willing to work with me to find a reasonable solution I contacted [redacted], hoping that [redacted] would help me to gain a refund given the fraud perpetrated by IJL.  After several lengthy rounds of back and forth through [redacted] was ultimately unable to help me gain a refund due to the contact I signed. I am reaching out to Revdex.com at this time because the contract I signed promises services I was not given.  I feel that IJL did an extremely poor job of acknowledging and working on this with me. Their response troubles me because they continue not to acknowledge the extreme problems in their service. I was told by them that my membership would continue until I was given 4 matches, even after the 6 months had passed. So, I am still an active customer who never benefited from their services, not used their services.  I demand a refund as I never went out on a date and never received a match who met my requirements (which IJL promised they could deliver on). These folks need to be held accountable for their poor and fraudulent behavior.

As stated previously, It's Just Lunch (IJL) sincerelyregrets any dissatisfaction the Consumer may have experienced.  However,the Consumer was fully aware of IJL's matching process before she ever enteredinto the agreement for services.  In fact, at the time the Consumer joinedthe service, the Consumer participated in an interview with Merchant’srepresentative to discuss, among other things, what she was seeking inpotential matches, her dating history, her personal hobbies and interests andher dating  goals.  Despite the interview, the Consumer was under noobligation to join It's Just Lunch.  The Consumer did not receive thecontract until the interview had already taken place. Once the Consumerreceived the contract, she had as much time as she required to review the termsnoting any questions she may have had. The Consumer specifically stated to IJL's representative that she assumedseveral things about IJL's matching process.  It is important to note thatIJL explained its matching process to the Consumer during the initialinterview.  The Consumer entered into the agreement of her own accordafter receiving the details of IJL's service.The Consumer stated she does not feel IJL's matching process is adequate. However, IJL has been in business for 24 years with thousands of successstories.  IJL has matches to provide to the Consumer in accordance withthe terms of her agreement.  Accordingly, she is not eligible for arefund.  IJL can and will service the Consumer's membership to fulfillmentand looks forward to providing the Consumer with a positive dating experience.

The IJL website and staff present a false representation of this business.  They do not provide expert matchmaking, the 'certified life coach' was a shallow joke, and I have given them much honest and open feedback - to no avail.  This company is taking advantage of people and not delivering anything close to what is promised.  I accept that I made a mistake signing up - and am willing to forfeit the $500 indicated for doing so.  It is abundantly clear from the Personal Face to Face Interview, from the "coaching session" and from the ludicrous lack of relevant information about the first proposed date that what is actually provided is an extremely superficial version of what is promised.  The company is a farce, ripping people off.  If I were paying $50 for each of four dates - what the heck, minimal matching wouldn't be serious - but for $700 per date, the utter lack of expert matchmaking is unacceptable.  I will not engage in the so-called services of this company and should receive the $2300 back.  It is a scam.  Indeed, they should be prevented from taking advantage of others.

and working with a certified life and dating coach for $2800.00. The membership is for 6 months, 4 dates, whichever comes last. The consumer was presented with 4 matches she declined to meet, her feedback is the most important part of the process and the more open, honest and specific the feedback is the better we can fine tune the matching process. The feedback we received ranged from “too old” to “let’s try again” to “my ex-husband and I are attached, I told IJL you had big shoes to fill”.  We contacted the consumer to work further on her concerns, however, she requested no further contact from IJL. IJL does wish to continue working with the consumer and providing a positive dating experience. IJL is able to provide the services under the terms of the membership agreement and a refund is not an option.  Thank you.

The initial conversation with the IJL representative is a massive sales session with many comments about how they will be able to find an excellent match for you and will be very selective in the process.  There is flattery about how YOU are the sort of person who men in your category are looking for, etc.  It's a lot of hype that plays on a person's hopes.  The promised services (interview, life coach, etc.) are all in the future when one signs up.  You have 3 days to change your mind - before any of these so-called services (in fact ludicrously superficial and worthless) begin. This is the worst dating service I can imagine - and it constitutes unethical robbery.  I cannot say strongly enough that this company should not be in business.  I want my money back.  As I've stated before, I am willing to forfeit $500 for my initial foolish judgment.  It is abundantly clear that the company's selection of 4 dates for me will be based on none of the criteria I would want - and that they therefore will not be able to deliver what was promised. I want the remaining $2300 returned.

As the consumer is aware, IJL providing matches is providing the services under the terms of the membership agreement. The membership agreement the consumer signed and entered into states “Before receiving a Date Introduction, an IJL representative may present Client with one or more candidates for Client’s evaluation for a Date Introduction (a “Match”).  If Client accepts the Match, IJL will schedule the Date Introduction.  Client may decline or pass on a Match for a Date Introduction and such action will not be counted as satisfying the number of Date Introductions that IJL has agreed to provide to Client.  However, IJL is not obligated to present more than eight (8) Matches in fulfilling Client’s four (4) Date Introduction membership at any time.  After presenting eight (8) Matches, any further Matches presented to Client will be considered to be a Date Introduction and will be counted as satisfying IJL’s obligations to the Client regardless of whether or not the Matches result in Date Introductions with the suggested Match(es).  Once four (4) Date Introductions and six (6) months (“Term Months”), whichever comes later, have been provided or have passed, IJL will be deemed to have fulfilled its obligations under the terms of this Agreement and this Agreement will expire.”  The consumer is not eligible for a refund and IJL will continue to provide the services under the terms of the membership agreement. Thank you.

Consumer's membership is for 6 months, 4 dates, 6 matches, whichever comes last. She is currently on hold and not accepting matches. IJL has and is able to continue to service the membership and a refund is not appropriate. IJL has lived up to the contractual obligation and when the consumer is ready to accept further matches she would need to contact IJL to return to active status. Thank you.

In response to the consumer’s further statements all IJL Members do pay for membership.  Her contract clearly states “Client may be matched with other It’s Just Lunch Clients and with non-It’s Just Lunch clients (“Participants”) procured for the Client outside of the It’s Just Lunch Client database.”  It’s Just Lunch recruits for our clients, which is one of the benefits of the consumer’s membership. We apologize if the consumer has not liked the dates she has been on, this is still dating, and there may be a bad date here or there, but as long as the consumer is open and honest in their feedback with IJL we can take that and fine tune the dating process. We look forward to working with the consumer and providing a positive dating experience. We are able to provide the remaining services under the terms of the membership agreement and a refund is not appropriate. Thank you.

Here is a final response for this complaint:It’s Just Lunch regrets to learn the consumer is not satisfied with our response. However, she entered into an agreement with the locations clearly outlined and had as much time as necessary before entering into the agreement to ask any questions about our matching parameters. IJL has provided the services, the consumer provided positive feedback for 3 of her 4 dates and we consider this a success. We wish the consumer the best in the future.Thank you,Julie
