I have attached the contract from It's Just Lunch and there is actually a stipulation that I can get a refund less $500 if they are unable to provide services.  I would also like to mention that I received an email from Cherline from It's Just Lunch on 7/30/2015 that was actually addressed to "[redacted]."  This is unacceptable service.  Everyone makes mistakes, but one would think if you have an already unhappy, dissatisfied customer, you would at least take the time to review an email before you send it and make sure you have the correct client name!Thank you for your assistance with this matter.[redacted]

There is no cancellation option in the membership agreement and accordingly under the terms of the membership agreement lJL is able to provide the services and accordingly a refund is not available. I am rejecting this response because: IJL has made promises like this over and over again.  All the response says is they regret their actions.  I see nothing being done that tells me they're fixing it.  I've been a member for 6 months now.  I was promised ATLEAST 10 dates in 1 year.  In 6 months, I've had 3.  My last date was 2nd week of May - 2 months ago.  This is completely unacceptable for the amount of money (~$3000) they charged for personalized service.   From what I can tell based on other people's complaints I've seen online, this is very typical behavior for this organization.  They charge the money upfront and don't deliver.  They don't have any type of refund policy in place - so if you're not happy with the service - you just have to suck it up and deal with the fact that you just got duped out of thousands of dollars.   In my case, I was forced to join [redacted].com.  How is it that after spending so much money on this dating service, I am having to find my own matches?

I am really dissatisfied with It's Just Lunch. I haven't even been on my first date, and I already know I am not ready. I felt pressured on the initial sales call and having just had my wife of 10 years walk out of my life, I was in a state of insecurity and very vulnerable. In fact, I feel I was taken advantage of when being pushed to sign up as the solution to my problem, instead of actually taking the time to get my stuff together and find healing before dating again.

A simple "put your membership on hold" was not what I wanted to hear. I spend almost 3 grand for this service, and the only thing I got out of it was a few phone calls and a quick Skype video call. They only have a 3-day cancellation window, which is archaic and beyond ridiculous. Every other company I have ever purchased from honors a customer's request for a cancellation/refund within 30 days, some even to 60 days.

I do not recommend this "matching service" at all. They don't even have any matches in my area (Southern Oregon). They only service the Portland area, so I don't even know why they thought I was a good candidate in the first place. They refuse to give me my money back, even partially. I feel scammed.

Avoid It's Just Lunch. It's not worth it. And and the end of the day, it's much less expensive to do the work yourself and actually ask a girl out to lunch yourself like a real man should!

I am rejecting this response because:to be clear, after being ignored for several months, or falling through every possible crack in your system I wanted my money back because no service was provided during that time. I have only continued with this company because I was denied any refund. I am and continue to be unhappy with this company and it's customer service. I would consider this resolved out when I get my money returned. I'm not however willing to just waste $2800. I am still requesting my money returned for poor service. Until then I will continue to spread the word that this is a terrible company and they treat their clients as if they are not valued and their business is unimportant!

session, working with a certified life coach and matchmaker throughout her tenure with the company, meeting with our Membership Consultant for her in person Personal interview, ability to date in every corporately owned IJL location and involvement in the matching and selection process,The consumer has attended 2 date introductions, completed her Coaching Session, completed her Personal Interview and declined 5 matches thus far. We have contacted her to review the concerns outlined in her complaint and her concerns have since been resolved and additional membership time was provided to the client. Review: The complaint concerns misrepresentations and fraud by It's Just Lunch (US) LLC. They purported to have a business office in Los Angeles, but apparently operate out of Florida. It was represented to me by the sales person conducting the interview that they would not take money and sign a person up for the dating service unless they had 5 individuals in the area who met your criteria at the time of sign-up. That was a false statement and they now claim that they have one year to set up 5 dates, and those dates do not necessarily match with the individual's criteria. I have asked for a refund and been flatly refused. I paid $2,800 for the service and am totally dissatisfied.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of the fee and termination of the service. I have already made a request and the supervisor has stated that I am not entitled to any refund.

It’s Just Lunch is a dating service for busy professionals. We have been in business for over 22 years and have arranged over 2 million first dates for our clients worldwide. We have clients that date across the US as well as several international locations. It’s Just Lunch has a local representative in every market our clients are dating in that meets our clients in person. The consumer has met with our local representative and completed her Personal Interview with It’s Just Lunch. The consumer signed an agreement for 12 months, 5 dates, whichever comes later. The consumer received a copy of the agreement via email prior to signing the agreement and had as much time as necessary to review the agreement and ask any questions pertaining to the terms of her membership.

The consumer has had 2 date introductions, with positive feedback from her first date, as well as 3 remaining introductions. It’s Just Lunch does have available matches for the client which we continue to work on scheduling and availability and therefore a refund is not appropriate. It’s Just Lunch looks forward to the opportunity to schedule her remaining date introductions and provide a positive dating experience. We are committed to helping the consumer achieve her overall dating goals.

It’s Just Lunch thanks the consumer for the additional information and provides an additional response as follows:

The consumer has received the services provided for under the terms of her contract. IJL is a matchmaking service. Each time an introduction is provided, the consumer is receiving the services. The consumer has received two date introductions and under the contractual obligation with IJL and has 3 remaining over the course of the remaining 8 months of active membership time available to her. The consumer’s membership provides 5 dates over the course of 12 months, which is a great expectation to set as you never know where the next date may lead!

The introductions the consumer received were described in detail to the consumer before she accepted, scheduled the date and attended the introduction. Each date is carefully selected per IJL standards, as well coordinated by the dating director and, while not required to do so, met many of the key parameters the card member discussed with IJL.

The foregoing notwithstanding, IJL does not exclusively select matches based upon a client's specified criteria. The consumer’s contract incontrovertibly records this fact as follows:

IJL introduces members based on the judgment of IJL’s employees who may take into account the general criteria and guidelines specified by its members ("Date Introductions"). Client shall be solely responsible for his/her interaction with other IJL members. IJL makes no guaranties or warranties with respect to these Date Introductions. (Emphasis added)

IJL makes no guarantees regarding the compatibility between the consumer and any other IJL member. IJL truly hopes our clients will connect; however, personality and attractiveness are subjective to each individual. IJL works to introduce its clients to other IJL clients, who based upon IJL’s interactions with each, IJL believes is a good match. Furthermore, the contract does not have a satisfaction guarantee. Please make special note of the portion of the membership agreement that states, "IJL makes no guaranties or warranties with respect to these Date Introductions."

The contract is sent to the consumer via email, before the card member signs the contract. consumer had as much time as she required to review the terms of the contract and note any questions she may have had. Additionally, her e-signature at the bottom of the first page of the contract represents her acceptance of the terms and conditions of the contract and acceptance of the membership. The contract states "Client agrees to the above terms and enrolls as a member under the following membership"

IJL has matches which it is able and will present to the card member to fulfill the 12 month 5 date introduction agreement entered into by IJL and the consumer. With respect to the refund policy, in addition to any state mandated cancellation policies, IJL will only offer a pro-rated refund in its discretion and only if it is unable to provide the services under the terms of the contract, which IJL is able to do. IJL has and will provide introductions in accordance with the terms of the consumer’s contract. Accordingly, a refund is not available.

I am rejecting this response because: There were fraudulent representations made in inducing me to enter into the contract. First, I was told that they did not accept you unless they looked at there current members and could identify at least 5 dates that would fit within my criteria. It was never suggested that they used their criteria not mine. Second, they represented that they had a Century City office and attracted a large number of members from the Westside. Instead,l they have apparently an office in Pasadena, but everything is coordinated through Florida. Third, they misrepresent the men that they are setting you up with. They expressly state that they have a personal meeting with each member face to face where they take their own picture of the member, but do not share it, and confirm all of the information. They also spent an hour with me making sure they understood my criteria, including that I was seeking a Jewish member, someone who lived on the Westside, and most importantly someone who was in good shape and exercised and was active nearly every day. The second person they set me up with, who had canceled on one occasion, was described as someone active who hiked, cross country skied, etc. Instead, the person I met was so obese and appeared to have hip and/or knee problems and could hardly walk from the door of the restaurant to the parking lot behind. He could never have done a hike. His interests were eating and drinking wine. I asked to cancel based on misrepresentations and asked for a pro rata refund. Instead I was told they had a year which they could extend to set me up with whomever them chose and that if I said no and rejected a date it nevertheless counted as one of the five dates under their contract. I have since reviewed the reviews on yelp and found that there are unanimous complaints about the company at least in this area. They sign you up late at night with all of these promises, give you no time to read the contract, and make fraudulent representations to induce you to sign by e-mail their contract. This is an entirely fraudulent operations and if they haven't been sued it would only be because of the cost of suit and people being embarrassed to admit they were screwed by a dating service.

Review: I joined this service in March of this year with the promise of being set up on 10 dates in a years time at a cost of $2800.00. I have been set up on one date and provided feedback after that I didn't understand why we both had to venture to [redacted] Philadelphia when we both lived in the Philadelphia suburbs minutes from one another. Although I live in the suburbs, to get to Philadelphia in the height of rush hour can take upwards of 1.5 hours. I received information about my next date and told that this person live within a half hour of me so they wouldn't expect me to venture that far to meet him. Sure enough, the location was set to [redacted] again and I politely responded immediately that this was not feasible (as I stated previously) and that I wanted to know how the locations were determined (I have email chains I can forward). This complaint was issued more than a week prior to said date. I was told this would be looked into and I did not receive a response back until I reached out when they said nothing could be done and I could either cancel or reschedule. I said my situation did not change and that I wanted to discuss this in more detail as I felt the level of customer service that one would expect after paying this much for a service was not there. I got an automated reply that this would be looked into. I tried to call the local office and corporate in Florida and would never get to speak with anyone. Someone from the local office called last week while I was at work and I called them back this past Monday and I am still waiting for a call back (after they say they would respond within 24 hours). I am beyond disgusted and frustrated and although there is a contract, it states that if they are not providing me with the agreed amount of matches then I can get my money back. This should have been a enjoyable experience and I really don't have any trust at this point that they will live up to their contract obligations if they cant respond to simple concerns from me. I really do not know what to do, I work very hard for my money and I really feel like I was taken advantage of and would just like the relationship to me terminated and my money refunded. They just responded with another no reply email to contact the Philadelphia office and pretty much ignored my email and the voicemail that I left this morning....

I am following up through email regarding the message that I left this morning. I have to say what started as a minor question/concern has escalated to a point where I no longer feel that your company is not meeting your end of an agreement we entered into two months ago. I did no pay 2800.00 to have been on one date in two months. I have no idea what happened with the second date after I provided feedback that the location would be very difficult for me to get to based on where I work and rush hour traffic. This concern was made to [redacted] after my first set-up when we both lived in the [redacted] area and were sent to [redacted] Philadelphia at the height of rush hour on a Friday evening. I was told about the next next match and not to worry that he was a half hr from me and didn't know why I had to travel so far for my first date based on both of our locations. I then received an email again with a date scheduled in [redacted], totally disregarding my concerns about the feasibility of getting there. I informed the office right away and was told it would be looked and remedied since the date was scheduled for more than a week away. I did not hear a word back until I reached out a week later and was told that nothing could be done and to either reschedule or cancel. I informed them that my situation not change and heard nothing further about rescheduling this this match at a more feasible location or anything else for that matter from the office. I have never dealt with such atrocious customer service from both the local office and corporate office. If you care so much about customer service you would have reached out to me personally to discuss this further. Instead all I received was an automated email response. The Philadelphia office left a message and I did return their call but have been waiting since the beginning of the week for a call back. At this point I am done with the games and being taken advantage of. I put trust in your company to help me find a a meaningful relationship and you completely disregarded it. As I stated in my message I am requesting a refund of my membership cost. I would like a confirmation in writing by end of business on Friday May 23rd when I could expect my credit card to be refunded or I will proceed with legal action which includes a formal complaint to the Revdex.com along with assistance from the consumer protection division of my local news channel. I work very hard for every penny I make and will not stand for being taken advantage of in the way that your company has. Again if I don't receive confirmation from you about a refund of my money please expect further action, both legal and otherwise.

I filed a complaint (ID [redacted]) to this company and reached out to the Revdex.com saying that the company did reach out to me to try to resolve the complaint. Empty promises were made to me by [redacted] (an additional match including being set up with a new dating director) on May 22. I had initially requested a full refund but as he sounded sincere in our conversation I was willing to give the company another chance. I asked for this in writing and was promised a written email stating that would be sent to me no later than May 23. As this was a holiday weekend I figured it would come the beginning of this week. As of yet I have not received anything else from IJL. I reached out to [redacted], the supposed supervisor of the Philadelphia area a total of two times and he had yet to respond,. As soon as this complaint was closed out, the company went back to their normal ways of not responding and at this point I am done. In the almost 3 months that I have been a member I have been on 1 date. They act concerned when a third party gets involved but go back on their word after the fact.Desired Settlement: In essence I feel that they are setting up dates knowing full well my concerns about the feasibility of the location especially when my matches are so close in distance to me. I don't feel like its right that we should be traveling over an hour to meet when we live much less than that from each other. I honestly feel that I have a right to question the service I have been receiving since I have invested so much in it. I am a normally calm and level-headed person and it angers me that it had to get this point where I am in need of a 3rd party to help me. Anything you can do would be so greatly appreciated. I don't even know the steps I would need to take to find a lawyer but at this point I would be willing to pay the money.

I expect no less than a full refund of the $2800.00 that I foolishly paid for a 1 year membership with this company in March. Once they receive their membership fee they are completely hands off. I can never get hold of anyone to speak with without having to leave a voicemail or email and I am tired of having to jump through hoops just to find out what is going on. I didn't know that you had closed this. I was told to contact you if the business reached out to me. I said they were working to resolve my complaint but definitely have not. Review: I signed up for this service February 1. Was in contact with a dating director and had my first date set up all in a timely manner as expected. I had my first date February 28. I then didn't hear from anyone at the company. I left multiple messages at the Philadelphia phone number and emails to Tia, my director at that time. When my phone calls were returned mid- march my Maria, my new director apparently, she told me Tia was promoted and she was the new director I was working with. Then I didn't hear from her or anyone from the company until mid may despite multiple phone calls to the machine and the customer service number. I found out at that time Maria went on medical leave and I apparently slipped through another crack. I asked to speak to multiple managers because after going for so long without any communication from this company and being proven over and over my business wasn't important I wanted my money back since I was not being provided any service. I was told that was not an option and no money would be returned and that my dating director would work hard to make my experience better. Since I had no choice apparently I attempted to continue with the next step, we made an appointment for which laquana, my new dating director never sent me a place and time for my meeting despite the fact that a day had Been decided on. I attempted to contact her manager- Tia and have not since heard from her. I want my money back and nothing to do with this terrible company. I have not been able to speak to anyone that won't apologize and tell me my experience will be better yet it has only gotten worse and worse. I still wish to get my money back if that is possible, therefore I would appreciate your help in this investigation. This is a terrible company and has proven over and over that they'll take my money but want to provide no service for it.

Review: I purchased a 10 date/year contract with It's Just lunch about 3 months ago. I had my first date on April 11, 2014. Two weeks after the date, I reached out to the company about my next match. I didnt hear back. I reached out again the following week. I never heard back from my dating specialist. I think reached out to the person who set up the contract. I didnt hear back from her. I then left 2 complaints on the corporate phone line. I never heard back from them. I was then contacted by the dating director for the area last Thursday. He left me a message and an email. I emailed him back. I didnt hear back from him. I have emailed him twice since then. I have yet to hear back from him. I started asking for a refund 3 weeks ago. The dating specialist got my email about that bc the dating director mentioned that. Yet she never responded to my emails. Like I said he has yet to respond to my emails since Friday. I want a refund at this point because I dont trust them. Even if they respond now and set me up on a date. Will I have to wait another 6 weeks just to hear from them. I have had one date in 3 months of membership; to me that is unacceptable. I paid alot of money for dates and customer service. I am getting neither.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund.

Review: I signed a 4 month membership agreement with It's Just Lunch. After an extensive profiling session, they guaranteed to set me up on at least 4 dates over the 4 month membership timeline. This membership was $1000 that I paid in full on February 20th. I have not been set up on any dates due to their lack of men that fit my initial criteria. They have been extremely rude or unresponsive since I've signed up for the service. I have called and emailed them dozens of times and have not received any sort of resolution. They are serverly lacking in customer service skills and are not delivering the produce that they promised me.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a full refund of $1000 back to my debit card. On January 29, 2014, I signed up for a dating service called Its Just Lunch (IJL)This service cost approximately $for one yearYes, I could've joined other cheaper services like [redacted].com or [redacted].comHowever, I'm a busy professional and I don't have the time to sort through hundreds of profiles to find a [redacted] that is suitable for youHence the very expensive dating service that cam with a promise of personalized attention and finding [redacted]es that met my criteriaThe service guarantees a minimum of dates in a month period - with an extension on time if they are unable to find datesIt is June 30th today and so far I have had datesGetting them to schedule each of these dates has been like pulling teethI call and email and nobody seems to respondIn the short time that I've been a member, they've transferred me to different coordinators alreadyNobody seems to know what's going on over thereI'm being told there's a list that they work with and depending on where you are on the list, either you're a priority or you're notThis is completely advertisingI have so many emails that I've written to my latest dating coordinator (Laquana) that go unansweredFinally, today I called to make an official complaint against herA nice woman picks up, tells me she's going to transfer me to customer service so I can make a complaint against LaquanaWould you believe that after being on hold for minutes I was transferred to Laquana who came on the line and told me there's nobody else over there that I could speak toAt this point, I'm out of optionsPlease help! Thank you.Desired Settlement: I can just assume the $I spent on this service is lost money and give upOr I can find a way to make them pay for itI would like nothing more than a refund for the of dates that haven't happened yetI would also like to warn others who may fall for this company and spend their hard earned money in hopes to find true love - like I did

I am rejecting this response because: IJL has made promises like this over and over againAll the response says is they regret their actionsI see nothing being done that tells me they're fixing itI've been a member for months nowI was promised ATLEAST dates in yearIn months, I've had My last date was 2nd week of May - months agoThis is completely unacceptable for the amount of money (~$3000) they charged for personalized serviceFrom what I can tell based on other people's complaints I've seen online, this is very typical behavior for this organizationThey charge the money upfront and don't deliverThey don't have any type of refund policy in place - so if you're not happy with the service - you just have to suck it up and deal with the fact that you just got duped out of thousands of dollarsIn my case, I was forced to join [redacted].comHow is it that after spending so much money on this dating service, I am having to find my own matches?
