I gathered all the employees that handled your work order and here are the facts about your case from our perspective, here is a short explanation about what we have done for you: * Duct system & Furnace device: Vacuuming dust and using various devices to perform a high pressure suction in order to eliminate dirtCombined with a rotating brush we also make sure all pollen and other particles are removed *Sanitizing: Minimizes microbial growth such as mold and bacteria in your duct systemAir duct sanitizing is often used when people have allergies or are moving into a previously occupied homeIt is also quite effective in eliminating odors from within the duct work * Dryer vent cleaningLint and debris can build up in the clothes dryer vent blocking air flow and creating potentially hazardous conditions including the possibility for an exhaust fire or carbon monoxide intrusionA restricted dryer vent reduces airflow and causes your dryer to run hotter and longer, substantially impacting energy efficiencyExcess heat created by poor air flow can ruin your clothes, add dollars to your home’s energy bill and increase the wear and tearWe use high pressure air and specialized tools to dislodge the dirt and debris from long vent run * Blower device: Using a high pressure water device, we wash the blower fan from all angles with a water solution combined with a cleaning agentsIt is extremely important to clean the blower motor as motor life and performance will be greatly reduced due to dust and dirt buildupReduced operating performance translates to high maintenance, operating and energy costs * Coil cleaning: There are a number of problems that can be associated with dirty coilsA dirty coil may increase power costs, while decreasing the ability of the HVAC system to work to its full potentialDirty coils may also shorten the life of the HVAC system, while reducing the quality of your home’s indoor air quality * Mildew eliminator and anti­bacterial treatment: Ventilation system cleaning by using Benefect Botanical Disinfectant, organic product, known efficacy in case of mildew concern and or bacteria By choosing those steps, you have saved a lot of money as neglecting the system probably would have caused you much more that what you have paid for On the date of the service (8/3/15), while the technician cleaned the duct system as the coupon ($34) you have offered, he found that the system had not been cleaned in a long time, that there is a concern for the presence of mold and other bacteria that grew in the furnace and therefore contaminated air blows into the house every time the system works Mildew and other indoor pollutants are growing in damp dark places and if not treated properly and at the right time can develop into more places Our technician Informed you in the existing situationHe showed you the current state of the furnace and the duct work also recommended a treatment solution according to his experience in the field and gave you a quote for the project (total $800)It has been explained to you the consequences involved if you choose not to perform the treatment It should be noted that we respect your decision not to perform the proposed treatment, if you would have asked him not to get it done,he would have done it You did not asked to stopYou requested to get the service done and signed the invoice as a proof for your approval before the team started and after the work completed Unfortunately, we see a lot of cases of furnace maintenance neglect leading to: increased strain best cleaning services and customer serviceIn order to resolve the case and to make sure you received everything you paid for we offer to resolve it by sending a team to inspect the work and make sure that the cleaning was handled properlyDuring this visit, the team will check the work to confirm all aspects of your work orderIn case we will identify deficiencies related to the performed services, we will fix them without additional fees to make sure that what you paid for is what you got Since I can not verify the matter of the trash that was left on the steps and the freshly painted ceilings were left filthy (although this can happen as part of our job and we can not avoid it all the times) we will make an exception and refund you 10% of the total payment ($80) to compensate for the inconvenience However the service you received can not be “returned” (like item at the store) exactly like you wouldn't imagine getting a work done from housekeeper / plumer/ home designer / painter and ask for your money back the next day after you changed your mind .The work has been completed and approved by you To address your concern about online reviews, Indoor Air Solutions believe in These are two different words and conditionsTherefore, the contract that was agreed to was fraudulent because the information provided was inaccurate, lacked empirical basis, and was not credibleThe serious issue here is that servicemen are stating things, which may be their opinions, as facts in order to startle and scare people into more expensive programsThey then charge higher than market price for these servicesA comparable cleaning would have been $400-500, not $This company is defrauding consumers by telling falsehoodsThis is unethical.The servicemen also stated he would remove a ball from the vents, and failed to do soThey stated they would fix holes in our vents, they failed to do soThey left a mess and broke registersI have already fixed their discrepancies, so I don't see the value in a visitAdditionally, I am not sure how the business itself would have an unbiased perspective on the matter.I continue to seek a full refund, but would accept compensation that would make this cleaning more in line with the average market costs of the area Regards, [redacted]

Hi ***,Thank you for your prompt response however, you did not address some key items in my complaintWhat is your business license number for Maryland and / or Virginia? What is the renewal and expiration date? Maryland or Virginia do not have a record of your licenseIt is surprising that the Revdex.com itself has no record of a business licenseI have taken this issue up the chain of command at the Bureau You did not address how your staff left equipment, and I ran outside to let them know right before they drove off, how they did not put the vents back on, and more I do appreciate your verification of the UV lightThere was a miscommunication still about the lightCould you give me a situation where you have had customers qualify for the free dryer vent cleaning? Within the past year? I do appreciate your explanation that my warranty will not be voided regarding my unit.

I am rejecting this response because:This is in response to the letter forwarded to us that was written by Indoor Air Solutions and sent to the Revdex.com in response to our complaint.We would like to make the following points:1. We never agreed to a certain payment and then backed out. On the statement we signed for Indoor Air Solutions when they were at our house it is clearly written that the payment is not settled and needs further discussion: “Payment in discussion w/ office – will be determined later date.” 2. The initial service we requested and agreed to – the $73 charge for cleaning the vents, servicing the furnace, cleaning 2 carpets, cleaning all bathroom exhaust fans, and cleaning the dryer vent – was not completed. The carpets were not cleaned. The vents were not cleaned – the upstairs vents were left on our front porch in a plastic garbage bag (they are still there). The downstairs vents were not removed or cleaned. The bathroom exhaust fans were not cleaned. The dryer vent was not cleaned.3. I had agreed to the removal of toxic black mold, which I was told by the technician that we had. The reason I am not willing to pay for the $375 “removal” of this “black mold” is because after he began work, Dennis later told my husband that we didn’t have black mold.4. Per the terms on the contract, we sent Indoor Air Solutions a letter by certified mail on December 18, 2016 (two days after the incident) stating our complaints. We received a response from the company, but the response did not address our letter. Instead, it was a copy of the contract, a copy of a coupon (not the same coupon that we had used), a copy of our letter, and a request for payment.5. After our experience, I researched Indoor Air Solutions online. Immediately I discovered that our experience was not uncommon and I feel it is important for other consumers to know what to expect when hiring this company. While we are now aware we should have researched the vendor, we went into the business agreement assuming that all partiers were being truthful. They were not.We attempted to contact Luis, who only received two of our calls. He said a manager would call back, they did not. He said I needed to pay $600+ for treatment cleaning or $900+ for a black light treatment cleaning. The tech said if I were to agree to this cost today he would take off 15%. I said I was not interested I simply wanted to take advantage of the the coupon option. The tech informed me that if I was not going to address the mold he could not clean my ducts.I DID find a reputable air duct cleaner that cleaned my entire system for about $100 AND BTW there was no mold - this company also asked how he was able to get an iPhone in my duct to take a photo of mold ?This company is a scam - pulling a bait and switch. I don't know if they thought I was an it or just plain gullible.BEWARE”“A complete waste of money. I got a coupon in the mail for a 38$ cleaning of my dryer vent, bathroom fan and A/C ducts and vents. The main guy took a look at my A/C unit and said I had mold and it would cost 575$ to fix. WHAT?! He also said that he couldn't do the A/C vent and duct cleaning due to the mold. WHAT!? Sure there was a small spot of mold (which I easily removed using some natural cleaner later) but I definitely didn't have a huge mold infestation.The guys were in my house for less than 10 minutes. Jose took a shop vac to the outside of my bathroom fan while Alex used a brush to remove some lint from my dryer vent. I could have accomplished both services for free without wasting my time and money on these guys. DONT LET THEM IN YOUR HOUSE.”“I bought a livingsocial deal for the airduct cleaning. I had read the other reviews & thought it would be worth a shot.  I think that the livingsocial deals have put them over their "quota" for scheduling purposes.  I called to schedule an appt the Sunday after I closed on my new house. They confirmed the night before, but then didn't call or show the next day.  When I called their customer service line, they told me my technician was still on his way. My window was 1-5.  At 8:30 p.m., the technician called to apologize because his car broke down & stated that the dispatcher would call me back immediately to reschedule. Noone called. I phoned them the next day and rescheduled for the following Sunday. Again, they confirmed. Noone called or showed up that Sunday either. Finally, I spoke with 3 managers to be "promised" that someone would show up thefollowing Monday afternoon. On the third try, they finally made it. They told me that the coils had "bacteria" growing on them. They wanted $450 to santize them, but were polite when I declined.  They did a good job on the normal air vent/return cleanings, but took my air filter out, which desperately needed to be replaced, and left the dust all over the ground. I would never recommend them to a friend. Beware of this company.....”6. We take issue with the statement from Indoor Air Solutions that we are trying to “get away with free service.” We are not trying to evade paying for agreed services as Indoor Air Solutions represents from their response message to our initial complaint – however, we do not want to pay for services that were prefaced on false information that was provided to us about black mold. In the past few months we’ve had a certified structural engineer, electrician, Insulation Company and other contractors do work at our house, as they can attest we promptly and fully paid them for their services and have never been late on any payments. It is our sincere intent that we come to an equitable solution for this unfortunate issue with Indoor Air Solutions. Combined with a rotating brush we also make sure all pollen and other particles are removed.Minimizes microbial growth such as mold and bacteria in your duct system. Air Duct Sanitizing is often used when people have allergies or are moving into a previously occupied home. It is also quite effective in eliminating odors from within the duct work.* Dryer vent cleaning. Lint and debris can build up in the clothes dryer vent blocking air flow and creating potentially hazardous conditions including the possibility for an exhaust fire or carbon monoxide intrusion. A restricted dryer vent reduces airflow and causes your dryer to run hotter and longer, substantially impacting energy efficiency. Excess heat created by poor airflow can ruin your clothes, add dollars to your home's energy bill and increase the wear and tear. I listened to your concerns and offered to resolve it by sending a team to inspect the work and make sure the the cleaning was handled properly.  During this visit, the team will check the work to confirm all aspects of your work order.  In case we will identify deficiencies related to the performed services, we will fix them without additional fees to make sure that you paid for is what you got.  HOWEVER, you refused for the resolution in foul language and threatened that unless you get your money back you will post a bad review.Like I already explained over the phone to you previously the service you received can not be “returned" (like item at the store) exactly like you wouldn't imagine getting a work done from housekeeper / plumber! home designer / painter and ask for your money back the next day after you changed your mind. The work has been completed and this is unacceptable to ask for the money back and finish with a free service.Indoor Air Solutions believe in building trust with our current and potential customers and encourage them to review the service they received unfortunately sometimes people get advantage of the online review tool by posting wrong / false information and mislead others. I am rejecting this response because the argument is invalid. While I appreciate the gesture of 10%, I do not feel that this sufficient.The business argues that the this service was requested. While I do not argue the fact that I agreed to the service and signed the bill, this was after the servicemen stated I 'had' a mold infestation. The business letter states that the serviceman said 'may.' These are two different words and conditions. Therefore, the contract that was agreed to was fraudulent because the information provided was inaccurate, lacked empirical basis, and was not credible. The serious issue here is that servicemen are stating things, which may be their opinions, as facts in order to startle and scare people into more expensive programs. They then charge higher than market price for these services. A comparable cleaning would have been $400-500, not $800. This company is defrauding consumers by telling falsehoods. This is unethical.The servicemen also stated he would remove a ball from the vents, and failed to do so. They stated they would fix holes in our vents, they failed to do so. They left a mess and broke registers. I have already fixed their discrepancies, so I don't see the value in a visit. Additionally, I am not sure how the business itself would have an unbiased perspective on the matter.I continue to seek a full refund, but would accept compensation that would make this cleaning more in line with the average market costs of the area.
