labor warranty on our work. This is not a labor issue but rather a product warranty issue.  I forwarded the information onto [redacted] at [redacted] which is now the company [redacted], for this warranty issue.   [redacted] assured me they will replace future sashes if needed, in the units if they were to go bad for the lifetime of the windows as long as it is still the original owner. Please let me know if l can be of further assistance,KarenInks Installations

Review: Vendor registered an inferior warranty to the one I had specifically and repeatedly requested for a roofing job at my residence in March, 2016.

Prior to signing a contract, I specifically and repeatedly requested a new roof using fifty year shingles that were non-prorated warranted for labor and replacement. Vendor rep, Ed B[redacted] repeatedly assured me that 'lifetime' shingles are the same as 'fifty year' shingles.

When the roofing job was complete, Ed B[redacted] apparently relayed info to his office worker, Karen, who ultimately registered the job with Owens Corning (OC) under an inferior warranty, OC "Standard Product Limited Warranty".

The fifty year shingle warranty that I had specifically and repeatedly requested, and that Ed B[redacted] assured me is what I was getting, would have been covered under OC "Platinum Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty.

Vendor delayed and initially filed an incomplete warranty registration. When I contacted OC about a month after the installation, they informed me in writing that they had a partial registration on file that did not include my contact information, roofing product/accessories used, number of squares installed.

OC customer service recommended to me that I obtain a written itemized list of materials/accessories used on my job. I made written requests for this list to Inks on March 21, 26, April 19, 28, May 18.

Vendor ignored five written requests from me for the itemized information. It was on their receipt of my May 18 'final request' that I received a phone message on May 24, 2016, from office worker "Karen" in which she stated that she had just now completed my warranty registration in her direct phone call to OC. It took her sixty days to register a warranty.

When I asked her if she could send me the itemized list that would have completed the warranty she refused. She stated that that information was in records held at the owner's home. When I asked her how she could complete the warranty registration now without such information available, she said to the effect that it was none of my business. She became increasingly rude and uncooperative, talking over me and refusing to have a discussion. She finally stated that if I have any questions about my warranty, that I can speak with Owens Corning customer service. Why should Owens Corning inherit a dispute that I'm having with my vendor? OC is a third party here.Desired Settlement: 1. I want the inferior OC "standard product limited warranty" replaced with what I had specifically and repeatedly requested: 50 years of non-prorated warranty coverage for labor and defects. The OC "platinum protection roofing system limited warranty'. The platinum protection warranty requires installation of OC "Total Protection Roofing System", and offers me lifetime nonprorated coverage of materials and workmanship.

2. If the itemized list of materials/accessories that I have repeatedly requested from Inks (and not able to receive) does not comprise the OC "Total Protection Roofing System", then Inks did not install the roof that I specifically and repeatedly requested.

THREE DESIRED OUTCOMES:

1. At no cost to me: Upgraded warranty for existing roof if it currently qualifies for the OC Platinum Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty (requires proof of installation of OC Total Protection Roofing System)

2. If #1 outcome is not an option, then, At no cost to me: a new roof installed to meet the Owens Corning specifications for Platinum Protection Roofing System Limited Warranty. Meet all national standards for roofing contractors. All debris hauled away. Installation to be complete by September 30, 2016.

3. An apology for the neglect and adverse treatment I received

Review: I had new gutters, downspouts, roof and fascia installed the first week in march. I installed gutter strainers on 6-5-16 when I got a closer look at the job. I have a hip roof and in 6 different sections 1 to 1 1/2 inches of water is just laying there the gutters are not pitched the correct way to the drains. Also algae is growing and looks like surface corrosion has started. One downspout is not totally down in the drain. Also there are different places the fascia is wavy not flat against the fascia and not nailed underneath. I have a 10 year warranty on labor! I called and told a Karen of the problems on 6-7-16 she said she would take care of it. Heard nothing. Called again on 6-17-16 talked to a Kelly she said she would let Karen know nothing was done and the office would call me still to date there's been no response!Desired Settlement: I just want the job done the correct and professional way not a hurry get done fast job! That's not asking for to much. I hope they stand behind there 10 year warranty. If that's a problem I would like a refund for the cost to have it done the right way! Pictures don't lie.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: During installation of a new roof they cut the supply cable going from the circuit breaker to the first box in the dining. They did not mention anything about it even that it was obvious that the cable had been severed- it was first when we told them that we had to light in the dining room and kitchen that they pulled up the roof. They then repaired it by splicing the severed wire together in a box hidden in the roof.I mentioned to Mr. [redacted] that the repair did not meet code. Matter of fact the National Electric Code (NEC) article 314.29 states:Electrical junction boxes must be accessible at any time in the future in a manner that does not require the removal of the permanently attached wall (or ceiling) covering. The box Inks installed can only be accessed by either taking the wooden ceiling down or taking of the roof - a clear violation of said NEC code.Desired Settlement: Have an electrician of my choice - not INKS - put a new wire in from the Circuit Breaker to the first box in the dining room.

Response:

We are writing in response to a complaint that was made against our company and the work that was done at the customer*s house on September 2S, 2013. The customer's name is [redacted] and his ID is [redacted]. We were aware that the wire was cut and was repaired. When we asked the customer about it he said that everything was fine and we haven't heard back from him since. Considering that the last time we talked to the customer he was happy with the work that was done and stated that there were no problems, we were surprised to receive this letter in the mail especially since the job was done four months ago. With that being said, we immediately contacted Mr. [redacted] and are in the process of resolving any problems that he may have.
