Review: On October 1, 2013 I called [redacted] I talked to a **. [redacted] and explained to him that I wanted to have a concrete cutting company cut a hole in a concrete building for a new garage door. I asked him if Inland did that kind of work and if he could offer a condition report on whether we could cut the hole. [redacted] said he would have to meet me at the job site on October 2nd at 9:00 am(the phone call was over and the meeting was set).Myself and my tenant on October 2nd waited at the job site from 9:00 am to 9:20 am and [redacted] had not shown. I called him to ensure that he was going to make the meeting and he told us he was running late and requested we wait a little longer. Which we did. When he arrived, he looked at the proposed hole cutting area for 10 minutes, never got on a ladder only inspected from the ground and then informed us that his fee would be $400.00. At that time we informed him that if we were going to go ahead with the project we would call him. NOW COMES THE PROBLEM. On October 4th we received via [redacted] a 3 page letter from [redacted] and a bill for $300.00. In his cover letter he mentions that "he has not fully anylized the structure or investigated all aspects of the construction" but on the other hand page 2 is a $300.00 bill that consists of a $3.00 charge for when I called him the first time, a $30.00 travel time charge, a $27.00 administration fee, among others and an engineering review fee of $130.00. [redacted] also states that the $300.00 is due now and he cannot proceed unless it is paid. He also includes a signature line for my approval you would think that he would have me sign an approval letter rather than send me a bill, when in fact there was nothing agreed upon. I have reason to believe that if I do not pay this bill he will turn it over to a collection agency and or try to destroy my good credit rating. On the initial phone call there was no mention from [redacted] that there would be any billing.Desired Settlement: We would like to have his bill retracted as we were only asking for a bid on if he could do the work and its cost if so. Once again he made no mention of me being billed to drive to the site. We are not familiar with a company by the name of [redacted] which is who he billed it to. We also would like you to stay in the loop until this is resolved.
