[redacted] contacted Member Service on 5/23/2017 for a request to cancel her membership do to a move to Oklahoma.  Member Service gave the requirements stated on the agreement for a early cancellation which are as follows.  Move out of the area more thatn 25 miles from International Fitness...

club proof of address would need to be submitted. Once that verification was received a request for $899.00 which is minus the $100.00 ealry terminaton fee. Then the request would be submitted to Senior Manager for approval.  All of this information is on the agreement which was signed by [redacted].On 6/12/217 International Fitness was notified by their bank that [redacted] had done a charge back for the purchase of her membership in the amount of $999.00.  On 6/20/2017 Member was emailed informing her that she still owed the $100.00 fee. [redacted] stated that she would not pay the fee and felt that it was not owed. The terms of the agreement were explainded again. [redacted] disputed the fee, and she was told that if the fee was not paid it would sent to a local collection agency.To date we still have not received verification of the move, which put this account in default. International Fitness did give all respect to this member and has not request repayment of the $999.00 do to lack of proof of move.  The only request is the $100.00 early termination fee to be paid.  We have tried to work this out by not submitting $999.00 for repayment but requesting payment only for the $100.00 early termaination fee with out proof of move submitted.

I am rejecting this response because:I never once said I would be paying it, I had tried to cancel every time on the phone you guys are crooks and putting words in my mouth. My girlfriend even tried to call on my behalf to cancel

The account will be cleared of all fees. Procedures are, members to pay the annual fee while the account is frozen, but in this case it seems that the account should have been accepted to be cancelled, upon the request and the paper work filled out and processed. The employee that spoke with Lindsey...

was doing the correct job as many members like that we do this so that they are not obligated to rejoin with all the fee's required. Unfortunately it just did not work out the way that it normally is set up in Lindsey's case.

 Today, I spoke w/ manager Nikki at International Fitness and she has agreed to cancel the gym memberships for both me and my boyfriend, [redacted], at no additional cost to us. Nikkihas also agreed to refund us back $198.00 out of the $237.80 charge that I am disputing. The $198.00 that she has agreed to refund back to us is for the $99 enrollment fee we each had to pay at sign up. Nikki has also stated she will be putting a note on her desk as a reminder that way when she does receive contact from my credit union regarding the disputed charge, she will go ahead and refund us back the $198.00.  If you need to contact Nikki, you can reach her at International Fitness located in Springfield, OR @ (541) 741-[redacted].
