Review: I hired International Movers Network to move my household goods from my home I sold in Buford, GA to my new home in Budapest, Hungary. I payed for a full service move where the movers did everything from taking pictures off of the walls and wrapping them to the full service unpack on the receiving end. I was encouraged by the mover to purchase insurance on valuable items which I did. I paid for the insurance through the International Movers Network to their affiliate insurance company. When my items were delivered the unpacking team noted broken items. Once the job was completed I contacted the moving company about my claim and they referred me to the insurance company. The insurance company denied the claim and said the damage was not covered under the insurance I purchased because it was due to improper packing. When I contacted the moving company they said they would contact the insurance company and get it resolved. This has been going on since November [redacted] of last year. Finally they said it was the movers that International Movers had subcontracted who were responsible and they were going to pay me by May [redacted] and just back bill the movers. May [redacted] came and went and they continue to stall. This has been over 6 months, I have over 50 emails I can provide where I can show my diligence in trying to get this resolved, and I can show emails from the movers where they agreed it was a legitimate claim and would pay by May [redacted]. I do not think they have any intention of paying me and have stalled far too long.Desired Settlement: The insured amount of my loss is $2,200. Since they have drug this out for over 6 months now and I have sent over 50 emails to take care of this I would also like and additional $500 for my aggravation and mental anguish. I am a 100% disabled combat veteran and live off of disability. This amount of money is almost a months pay for me. I informed [redacted], [redacted] of International Movers Network of this fact and he was not sympathetic to my need to get this resolved quickly. He has been a terrible business man, not followed through on his word, and is completely unethical in his business practices.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The amount due me is $2200, the business offered me $1500. I want an additional $500 for my efforts and aggravation. I am owed $2200 for losses and want $2700 for a total settlement after my 74 emails and over 6 months trying to resolve this. The business came back with an offer $700 less than the official insured items loss and I came back with an additional $500 on top of the loss. The business is trying to low ball me and I will not accept less than the insured loss of $2200 at a minimum and for me to be satisfied with the businesses handling of the case I want $2700.

Review: I chose International Movers Network to relocate from the US to the UK, on our contract regarding the storage of goods it states " • Load goods and 2 dirt bike into truck at origin, load into wood lift van and 30 free days storage". When my container arrived to the UK, I received a bill of £415.03 (approx. $651.22) for storage. After disputing the charge and days of emails back and forth, I received a "discounted" storage charge of £248.35 (approx. $389.68). International Movers Network feels that somehow it's my fault because they sent me the invoices way in advance and I shouldn't have questioned them, I should have just paid. Their explanation is the "30 days of free storage" begin from the day they pick up the goods at origin. So basically my free storage is the transit time, because my goods did not arrive in the UK till Nov. **. I was under the understanding that I had 30 days from Nov. [redacted] to make the final payment. Now their agent partner on the UK side is giving me deadlines to pay the £248.35 (4 days) or I will incur more storage charges, so at this point I have no choice but to pay it so I can have my goods delivered and not be charged even more storage fees. I am filing this complaint because the contract and especially the "free 30 days storage" section is very misleading and I feel I got ripped off by IMN. Another detail, my total charge for the container was approx. $6.000, I paid half in the US and half in the UK, as agreed with the agent, a few days after I received the invoice. As proof for my complaint I have:

- emails with IMN

- emails with the UK agent

- invoices

- payment receipts

- contract

Thank you for looking into this matter!Desired Settlement: I would like a refund check from IMN totaling £248.35 (approx. $389.68), delivered to me in the UK(they have my address). That was the payment demanded by their agent here. It wouldn't hurt if they disclosed EXACTLY what the "free 30 days storage" mean so other customers don't fall for that trick like I did. Transit time does not mean "storage".

Business

Response:

Please find few dates for your record September ** we have picked up the customer goods. Loaded to vessel October ** Arrive in the port of UK November ** Invoice paid in full on December * As you may calculate free storage the customer received from us is more than 30 days. IMN, complete all what we had agreed.

IMN is refusing to refund the storage fees I had to pay as a strike back for my complaint. The representative first said it was my fault for not paying right away and that they've done nothing wrong(I have email correspondence to back the claims up). They basically wanted me to pay fees that were not supposed to be there, without questioning them. Following that email, I filed the complaint with Revdex.com because they lead me to believe they had no intention to make things right. Shortly after, the representative emailed me back and said he will contact their agent in the UK to sort out the refund, at which point I came back here to withdraw my complaint but I was unable to do so until the issue was resolved. When they found out about the complaint, they changed their minds in retaliation to my complaint and said they are no longer willing to refund the fees(that should have not been applied in the first place). Per my contract with IMN, I was supposed to have 30 days free storage. I only got 9 days, after that I got hit with storage fees. My goods arrived to the UK 11/**/14 and I started getting charged as of 11/**/14. Per our contract, I had up until 12/**/14 free storage. A screenshot of the contract is attached. My intention is not to hurt IMN's reputation, I simply want them to honor the terms in our contract, which does not describe transit time as storage. Thank you!

The free storage was in our contract as part of origin. The customer fails to pay on time, with no additional fees. The customer didn’t comply with payment terms as per sign contract.11/* the customer paid only 50% of his invoice.11/** the customer email to us, “Thanks [redacted], I'll put the check in the mail tomorrow. I am sending it to you, as I did before, right?”11/** the customer clam to pay to our agent overseas in order to expedite his door delivery.12/* payment received by our agent. What have we done wrong by waiting so much for payment?

Dear Ilana,

I was very satisfied with my relocation using your company. I was particularly happy with the fellows who packed my shipment. Everything was received in good order in London, UK. I would be happy to recommend your company's service to anyone undertaking an international move.

Sincerely,

David Andrews

I'm very happy with the service that I was provided by IMN.
The delivery people on both ends was very professional, and my stuff was pack well and got herein good condition.
Thank you

Review: International Movers Network gave us a bid for the overseas delivery of household goods. We knew from previous experience that the shipment would take about six weeks and that is what the representative told us on the phone. The shipment also took almost exactly six weeks, but we were told that we would have to pay a substantial additional amount--in cash--to receive delivery of our household items for two weeks of demurrage. When the [redacted] was confronted about this on the telephone, he became uncontrolled and loud, claiming he couldn't have any idea how long the delivery would take.Desired Settlement: The demurrage costs in this case can only be explained as fraud or incompetence. International Movers Network should refund the $1550 (1165 Euros).

Business

Response:

Hi,

Our contract indicate clearly demurrage fee as excluded.

None of our stuff promise to customer 6 weeks.

Vessel schedule are done by shipping line not be IMN.

Our office, e-mail to the customer, on line tracking on July ** 2014.

All dates can be seen on line.

Thank you

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The representative with whom we were working stated, upon my inquiry, that the shipment would take approximately six weeks (which was then absolutely correct). This leads to the reasonable suspicion that the original offer was padded to make it appear as if International Movers Network was offering a good price for the services provided, the fallacy of which only became apparent when the demand for an additional 1165 Euros was presented two days before the shipment was to be delivered. I don't know what a third option for understanding this would be beyond (1) intentional deception or (2) gross negligence. And yes, the tracking number was sent and I don't dispute the date of July **--however our shipment was picked up on July *. It took over two weeks and we only received it after inquiring why we had not yet received it.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

Hi,

No one from our company confirm or guarantee 4-6 weeks.

We follow shipping line schedule and that what we had provide to the customer.

As per customer reply, he did received e-mail that informed him how to track shipment and estimate arrival date.

1165 EURO was charge from shipping line, our agent send a proof to the customer.

What we have done wrong?

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

The claim that no one from International Movers Network told me the shipment would take six weeks is a lie. Prior to our shipment being picked up, [redacted] told me we could expect the shipment to take six weeks. Any claim to the contrary is a blatant attempt at deception. The offer we received gave no indication of a time limit for the shipment to reach its destination. If it had been stated that there would be additional charges after four weeks, we would have known before that something wasn't right. The shipment did not even reach the country of destination within four weeks, to say nothing of clearing customs and being delivered to us. These facts make it difficult to believe that this could be anything but a willful padding of the offer to make it appear less expensive than it was going to be. The most innocent explanation possible is that it was a gross miscalculation and thus dereliction of duty to the customer. International Movers Network should be held liable for the additional expenses which were incurred.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Dear John,
The movers were very friendly and professional, and the communication throughout the entire process was just excellent.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone making an international move!
