Review: After having chimney work (satisfactorily) completed last year, I have been subjected to a barrage of telephone solicitations from them. When I spoke to an office worker, complaining about the relentless calls, I was disconnected. When I called back, unwilling to believe the disconnection was deliberate, the female office worker made a lewd comment and hung up, again!

I am making this complaint because I fear continued harassment and or retaliation by this company.Desired Settlement: No further contact from company and an apology from office worker

First off we had the pleasure of meeting this individual at a fair. She signed up for a chimney cleaning. We called her monthly and spoke to her and she indicated that she still wanted this service done. If we didn't reach her we left messages. By no means would we hang up on someone and let alone use foul language. I am not in the business to lose customers and upset them. I have never ever had 1 concern regarding this kind of a matter. I would be more than happy to schedule an appointment to come over and clean your chimney. It would be my pleasure. Please call me direct and I will schedule a free cleaning for you.Marc###-###-####

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: I had no problem with the work done to my home by Island Chimneys. And while I appreciate the generous offer from Marc to clean my chimney for free, what I wanted and feel I deserved was an apology from the woman in their office who hung up the phone on me not once, but two times!Marc did not create the problem, even though the incessant phone solicitations were annoying. I felt well within my rights to complain about those phone calls and I did so in a civilized manner. Unfortunately, the secretary did not reciprocate.

Review: We hired this company to fix our fireplace.We agreed to the price.We they took a75 dollar deposit from us.Every time it came time to do our job their was an excuse.They told us their trucks broke down.They told us a worker fell off the roof.When the first guy was here we told him we had another company here.he told us that the other company would stake out our house and rob us.well anyway We had enough of excuses.We told [redacted] who said he was the owner we wanted our money back.He told us to call the office.And than hung up on me.So I called the office and found out he was not the owner in fact [redacted] was.So I told [redacted] my problem.He promised he would take care of it.He sent to young gentelmen to my house.they looked at my fire place and said they couldnt do the job for 200 dollars.They wanted 400 dollars.With that they were very rude to us.We asked for our money back.They told us to call the office.When we called the office to ask for [redacted] they said [redacted] wasnt there. When I told them who it was.They started to curse at us and threaten to bodley harm us.We still havent goten our money back.We are affraid theese people will come back and do something to our home and our cars.This was the worse experience ive ever encounted with any company.Desired Settlement: Wish not to be contacted by this company.Want want our deposit back.And want others to know our experience with this company

We had an appointment with this family. We went over and gave an estimate for $185 to do the work. We were suppose to go back and our van broke down. In fact, my van is in the shop getting a new motor. We were suppose to go back a second time and one of my men fell off a roof and hurt himself. We rescheduled for Saturday. I had my [redacted] go over to there home. He assessed the job and it was undersold as my cost of materials was approximately $135 plus labor, gas, etc. He told the [redacted]. that he was sorry but the cost would be $399. She said no and my manager gave her back the $75. In fact she counted it up in front of my manager and his laborer.

The hostile boyfriend called in and threatened one of my workers that he is coming down "To kick the crap out of him." He threatened him and said that he was a part of the NYPD. I believe that this statement is a false fact which is a Federal offense. All his statements are 100% wrong.

We did nothing wrong. They were just aggravated that we didn't do the work. I am appalled and extremely upset at them for making these false statements. This is over a $185 job. That is unreal. My gas tank costs me $100 to fill up. We have every right to say that we cannot do this job. There $75 was refunded. If needed, I will get a signed notarized statement from my men stating that they gave her back the $75.

I am afraid that these people are going to come to my office with bats or something. I am concerned for the welfare of my employees, myself, their vehicles and the other people in my office building. If I receive another threat from them, I will go straight to the authorities. I do everything in my power to please my customers. Customer care is my main concern. That's what makes us "Heights Above The Rest"

Review: I retained Island Chimney to power wash my home. The company van, which was parked in my driveway, leaked and left several nasty stains on the driveway. I emailed the company pictures of the damage and they responded right way they would send someone out to fix. The person who tried to clean the stains off the driveway made it significantly worse. I have emailed the company again, three times, with pictures of the damage their employee caused and asking what will be done to repair my driveway. All three emails have been ignored.,Desired Settlement: I am requesting that Island Chimney complete remove the stains they caused from my driveway without causing any further damage to my driveway.. If they cannot remove the stains, then they must reimburse my costs to have the driveway repaired by a company dealing in driveway repairs.
