Review: I purchased a 2015 Kawasaki 310x jet ski from this business. I initially left a $1000.00 deposit on my debit card with them and agreed to bring in the balance of $1000.00 upon time of pick up. When we went to pick up the jet ski we sat and finalized the paper work and my husband handed $1000.00 cash over to one of the employees. The transaction was conducted the jet ski was released to us as agreed. A few days later we get a call from the dealer stating we never gave them the $1000.00 cash. We were skeptical in dealing with them because they told us to lie to the financing bank and tell them we gave them $3005.00 as a deposit and that we already had the jet ski in possession when we didn't. The only receipt they gave me was my debit card receipt. I did not get any copies of the paperwork I signed as I asked for it several times, including the warranty information. Now I've received a bill for the $1000.00 my husband gave them cash.

I purchased the bike I take it out to use it the bike over heats and shuts of I call them and they tell me its under warrantee but sounds like a maintenance issue I said I just bought the bike 2 weeks ago , the person at the service dept says oh we charge to look at it we won't charge you too much we know you just bought it . I take it to an authorized dealer that works on polaris bikes who's willing to look at it and use the warente coverage not like these theivs at island powersports , till now the bike is not fixable they say they cannot find out whats wrong with it this place says who ever preped the bike didn't do it right . it hasn't even been 6 months and I would like my money back I tried calling island powersports back and the same guy from service tells me oh wait 3 weeks to drop of the bike were busy and we will charge you too look this is nuts.Desired Settlement: I want my money back they can have the bike back its in mint condign maybe used for 2 hours if that.

Response:

Please see attached invoice. The unit was purchased in March, not July as stated in the complaint. If a unit sits and is not used for a period of time it can have fuel issues which we explain to all customers. Also, yes a unit is under warranty for defects but the warranty does not cover issues from lack of maintenance and this is what he was told by our service department. He is more than welcome to bring the unit in and we will look at it and no cost, if is a warranty issue it will be repaired at no cost, if not, we will give a free estimate to repair.

Thanks,

I know you have store policy , but I would like you to speak to a manager you can plug the bike in to check the hours it has been on it would show about 3 hours I haven't been able to use it since I got it , what could you do for me believe me I'm not the type to make up complaints and go threw a head ace for no reason.

Review: To Whom It May Concern:

On Saturday, August *, 2014 my wife and I entered Island Powersports looking for information about a wave runner and the possibility of trading in our old Yamaha wave runner towards the purchase of a new wave runner.

Sale person; [redacted] explained to us that the trade in was no problem and showed us a new 2014 Kawasaki wave runner. It appeared to be a fair price and we were going to purchase it. We gave him a $2000 deposit toward the new wave runner and the old wave runner would be taken when the new wave runner was delivered.

After the Sales person; [redacted] took our deposit he then informed us that the price of the new wave runner would depend on the condition of our trade in. He also then informed us that there would be a $150 charge for transportation of the old wave runner but would be wave if we purchase the new 2014 wave runner. We did not feel comfortable with that deal and did not want to purchase the new 2014 Kawasaki. It was at that point when [redacted] informed us the store was closing and he would have to speak with his boss about the trade in and return.

At no time did [redacted] tell us we had to wait for his boss approval or the cost of transportation prior to us giving him the $2000 deposit. This was made know only after he received the $2000. I personally spoke to [redacted] twice (8/*/2014 and 8/*/2014) and told him we did not want the 2014 Kawasaki wave runner and please return my deposit. I was told he had to speak with his boss and later told that returns are only done on Saturday.

As of August **, 2014 I have not received my return deposit of $2000 and he does not answer my phone calls.Desired Settlement: We did not purchase or want the 2014 Kawasaki wave runner, as such I would like my $2000 deposit refund.

I have received a phone call from [redacted], [redacted] of Island Powersports the day I file the complaint. [redacted] apologize for the confusion and said my $2000 deposit was refunded 4 days ago. I check my account that day and there was not a refund and/or credit. I waited 2 additional days and still no refund. Thinking that I might not be looking in the correct location for the refund, I call the credit card company. I was informed by my credit card company that NO refund was issue by Island Powersports.

As of this day, 19 days have passed and I still have not received my refund/credit.

Sincerely,

Review: I recently purchased a brand new 2015 [redacted] kx 100 dirt bike from Island powersports on thursday 6/*/2015 . I Bought the dirt bike home between 7 - 8 pm that day and was having problem with it immediately , so I bought the bike back to island powersports the very next day which was on friday 6/*/2015 . The sales person that sold me the dirt bike said that they were going to take a look at the dirt bike and call me back when they figure out the problem. They I called them back on Monday 6/*/2015 and they told me the engine on the dirt bike was blown and that I would have to pay of pocket for them to fix it. I feel that this isn't fair because I didn't even have the bike for 24 hours and the engine is now no good anymore.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to replace this dirt bike or just fix it.

Business

Response:

The unit the customer bought and was informed of this, is a 2 stroke competition (race bike) bike. if not properly broken in and/or maintained the top end of the engine can seize. This model is for race/performance use. The manufacture ([redacted]) does not offer a warranty (only against defects) on any of their models that are race units. please see attached checklist that shows the customers was informed of the warranty on this unit. The vehicle is currently in our service department to determine the cause of the vehicle not running. We will know in a day or two the reason for the failure and inform the customer if it is a defect from the manufacture or not.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because

No Island powersports (didn't) give me any information on this dirt bike that I purchased from them, actually when my boyfriend and I picked the bike up from their dealership the sales person that sold us the bike only gave us the temporary certificate of registration and the license plate(Nothing else!) . My boyfriend already has knowledge on these 2 stroke dirt bikes because he owned a few of them in the past as well as supersport bikes, but as far as our sales person giving us any information on this dirt bike that is a false statement! (If) my boyfriend didn't know anything about this bike and blew the engine up on his own (than) I wouldn't have to be doing this right now or getting Revdex.com involved but thats not the case , the case is that my boyfriend didn't even ride this bike for 2 minutes or had it for 24 hours before something went wrong with the product. Like I stated before our sales person didn't give us any information or paperwork for this bike besides the temporary registration and the license plate. When we picked the bike up she didn't go over anything on the bike ,all she did was hand me the temp registration and license plate and a young man from the service department helped my boyfriend load the bike on the back of our truck. The very next day we dropped the bike back off because it was giving us problems and the guys down at Island powersports told my boyfriend to leave the bike there and they are going to take a look at it, 2 days later I got a call from island powersports and they said something about the engine being blown and it would cost us $200.00 just for them to open the engine and take a look at it. So on monday 6/*/15 my boyfriend and I went to island powersports to talk to someone about this bike and plead our case, my boyfriend spoke to a guy in the service department which was a very very nice guy and he told us to go speak with a [redacted]. My boyfriend spoke with a [redacted] which was also was a very nice guy and he told us that he was going to open up the engine at no charge and take a look at it to discover the problem….. Don't get me wrong Island powersports is a Great dealership and the guy in the finance department really worked his butt off in getting me this loan for this bike with the least amount of cash down but I'm not here to try and get over on them but whats right is right and whats wrong is wrong and This bike definitely not right!

Response:

Again, we have not made any determination yet. Once the top end of the engine is opened (most likely today) we will know what is going on. I cannot make any determination until this is done. We will contact the customer as soon as possible.

Review: I bought a 2015 kawasaki jet ski and a trailer on August 2015 . we went to pick up the jet ski at the dealership and they didn't explain anything about the jet ski even they knew it was our first time . Also they gave us the wrong trailer, after 2 weeks they came to my house to replace it. After having the jet ski for a month the dashboard control stop working, we call the dealer and we were told that they were booked for the season, that we could ride it like that, we finally got an appointment to bring it in late September, they made us go twice because the technician was on vacation and they only have one person. Finally early October they took it. We didn't hear frim them in a month in November I call to see how it was going but didn't get any answers, call back same month a couple of times but still not specific answer. After two and a half months they call me to pick it up, when we got there they told us that we own them $180.00 for replacement of battery wich we had no idea that they did because they never told us, at the moment we didn't have the money because we didn't know and never expected it because we only rode it for 1 1/2 month. We told them we didn't have the money at the moment that we would be back the following week.

On January [redacted] 2016 we picked uo the jet ski and find out there was a damage to the body of the jet ski, showed to the manager on duty who told me " tough luck" there's nothing they could do, but when my husband push the issue he told him he would fix the damage on condition I would pay him $45 a day for storage, at that point when we refused he became belligerent and very loud and started to cursed and told my husband to get the f[redacted] out of his dealership , I felt threatened cause there was a number of his coworkers with him.

So I left.

Im very upset and very disappointed, now I have to pay to fix something that I didn't do its not fair I would never ho back to ISLAND POWERSPORTS and I will make sure to tell everyone what they did to usDesired Settlement: I just want the damage to be repaired

Review: I put a down payment of $200 on a bike on October ** 2013 and then two Days later I decided not to buy it at this time and ask for a refund.

It's now October ** 2013 and no refund so far.Desired Settlement: Refund the money
