Review: We would like to dispute a charge that we have with ITechLine. We use [redacted] antivirus and internet security to protect our computer and were having a problem with updates. In April we contacted what we thought was [redacted]. It was actually ITechLine, a deceptive company masquerading as [redacted]. The woman on the line told us that we needed to pay another 199.99, an amount identical to our [redacted] payment. Both my wife and I said several times that we had already paid 199.99 for a year’s worth of service. We did pay them using [redacted]. Since we thought that we were speaking with [redacted], we planned to get our money back from them after they searched their records showing we had already paid. We called [redacted] about this contact with ITechLine and found it was not [redacted]; so we tried to stop our [redacted] card payment to ITechLine. The [redacted] representative said that we needed to wait until it was posted, which happened several days later. Then we started the dispute resolution process with [redacted] about ITechLine, we think around April 22. [redacted] has closed the dispute.

At the time we thought that ITechLine had corrected the updating problem, but we continued to have the same problem. So they not only did not fix it but also charged us for it. Since then we have learned the company is very deceitful.

My husband called ITechLine accidentally last week when he wanted to speak with [redacted]. The ITech person showed him a "Trojan" on our computer and tried to sell him a "one time Microsoft" fix for $199. We realized that [redacted] was not talking with [redacted] and immediately stopped the conversation with the technician. [redacted] then scanned our computer and found no Trojan or other problems.Desired Settlement: We were recently billed for $199.99 on the credit card for the "work" which was NOT done in April. We do not want to pay it. Thank you. [redacted]

Review: Itech Line fraudulently held itself out to be [redacted] company when asked. It further used fraudulent sales practices in falsely reporting that there were "foreign countries" hacking into my daughter's computer, that "60% of the files were corrupted and if 40% more were, then all of the information would be lost." It used vexasious, fraudulent and misrepresented facts to scare a teenager. Further, it logged into my teenage daughter's computer unathorized, in order to obtain private and financial information. Likewise, the company holds itself out to be located in "[redacted], MD" but it has no employees except in India. There is no live person, just an email and that goes to India. TD Bank has been advised of the $199.99 debit, which is pending now, and is being disputed do to the fraud of Itech Line and its lies, misconceptions and misrepresentations in the location, identity and purpose of its company. I want my daughter's $199.99 returned immediately.Desired Settlement: Return of $199.99 taken fraudulently from my teenage daughter.

Review: [redacted] sent me to microsoft for technical support. Instead of reaching microsoft, I reached Itech Line and they informed me 55 hackers had tried to access my system. They led me to believe they were a microsoft support site, when in actuality they weren't. I was frightened that my computer would crash again, so I was taken for $199. for my desk top and $199. for my lap top. After much haranguing back and forth, they said they would reduce the total $100. They wanted my acceptance that I was satisfied with the service which I would not accept, and finally to get them to quit calling me and emailing me, I said 'yes.'

I told them I wanted to cancel the contract and have reported this to my bank/credit card company. In addition, they had badgered me from around 10:30 A.M. 11/16 to nearly 4:00 P.M.

The worst part of it all was they misrepresented themselves, which I told them.Desired Settlement: I want them to cancel this contract and take the charge off my (now closed) credit card.

Review: November 11, I thought I was contacting [redacted] Security concerning my computer. I found myself talking to iTechline. When I inquired I was told they are associated and work with [redacted]. They then proceeded to tell me my computer had been severely compromised and my banking and private information was at great risk. They were very persuasive, slick, and forceful. They took over my computer and ran some kind of program that made no sense to me and said there were 1,200 or more sites at risk. I know very little concerning computers and thought I was talking to a technician from [redacted] and the next thing I know I am buyng, for $149.99, iTechline's protection service. Something did not seem right about the whole experience. Too fast, too slick and too forceful. Today, November 12, I contacted by credit card company and asked them not to pay iTechline. They were very helpful. A representative from my credit card company and I called iTechline and had a three way call. They refused to cancel. My credit card co. advised me to watch for the $149.99 charge, call them immediately and they will do their best to get my money back. I now see, on line, that this is what iTechline does. Many, many complaints. I am adding my complaint and hope that something is done about this sleazy company fast talking and swindling people.Desired Settlement: Stop this company from doing more damage to unsuspecting people.

Review: I called [redacted] Antivirus due to PC problems, and a rep told me it was a "Level 5" repair and told me to call for 3rd party service at ###-###-#### called iTechline, which I did. They scammed me into fraudulent services, stating my PC and laptop were highly infected (50%-60%! which I now found is false cannot occur) and that 6-7 foreign hackers were in my systems. They would repair for $199.99 each. They scared me into thinking my personal info would be taken and I allowed them to remotely enter and "fix" the problem. I since called [redacted] and they say it is a scam, they do not admit that a rep there gave me that number though. I called and cancelled [redacted] card and am starting a refute on the charges. I am now going to try and find if they compromised my identity. and my husbands who is also a Veteran and we are scared.Desired Settlement: Put them itechline out of business, they are a fraud.

Review: Company sales and tech. Rep misrepresentation of the company. Failure to allow customer to view and agree with contract required aknowledgment prior to purchase. Rep. Agreed to terminate agreement and contract. And allow full refund. Failure to do so by rep. And company.Desired Settlement: Full refund

Review: am very disappointed in [redacted]!!! Somehow it got overlooked that we didn't switch the email address on that account we had No clue that anything was going on until the website was shut down! I didnt even recieve a phone call! A rep said they tried to call 5 times really?!?! And didnt leave a message? The computer with my cr was broken. They couldn't do anything without cr. I filled out form sent in with my licence still heard nothing about that. Finally got computer working got cr now the site is gone! Really I have to start from scratch after 4 years????Desired Settlement: I want my website back!

Review: I contacted what I thought was [redacted] Tech Services and got transferred to a 3rd party that was supposedly contracted by [redacted]. ITechline I have learned is not affiliated by [redacted]. The problem was a slow computer. They ran a "Tree" program that suspiciously started turning red at the end of the run. I later asked to have it run again and in 3 sessions with them, they never did the Tree scan again. I called them last one day before my subscription expired for a slow corrupted computer and it did not work much better after they finished. But, after finishing with them, I had programs that no longer worked. I did not have another two hours to spend with them in front of my computer and without being able to use my computer. So, I tried to resolve the issues on my own. No luck. I called them back and they said they could not help since my subscription had expired 10 days ago. I paid $199.99 for this 90 service that has left me in worse shape than when I started.Desired Settlement: Either refund the $199.99 I paid and I will find someone I can trust OR give me complimentary service that will restore my computer without having to lose the work I have performed since the last restore done by them.

This company will scam you as much as you let them! Do not trust them with your computer!

Review: I called whom I thought was [redacted] Computers, because I had a BRAND NEW computer that I was having a hard time setting up, This company even asked for my Dell password and accessed my account and gave me an old service order number from an old claim, proving they accessed my account. They then had me believe that my computer was infected and I had to pay a THIRD PARTY 199.99 to have them take care of this problem. They stated that my [redacted] Prefered ACcount was only good to pay for the computer not this type of service. I believe that they did take care of a problem we could have had, but they illegally accessed my account and had access to all my vital information like ss#, address, etc... They led me on to believe that I was dealing with [redacted]. I called back to ask questions and they hung up as soon as I asked my first question. I will dispute the charge with my credit card company becuase I then accessed the REAL [redacted] and had to pay them 239.99 to check my computer for any malware of the likes. I can not believe that they are allowed to pretend they are other company's and access personal information.Desired Settlement: I would also like to see an end to their business. This is horrible to lie and deceive people.

Review: The microsoft issue was that I was unable to use key code to install Office 2011. The tech man told me that my system had been hacked into by the Chinese and that I must get the hackers out of my network and that he would do that and install my product for 199.00. I allowed him to go into my computer to determine this,, thinking that I had contacted a Microsoft authorized company. I almost went ahead with it but I quickly checked online to see if there were any complaints against this company and I found the exact complaint. I got back to the tech and told him to forget it. I called Microsoft and the tech installed the software for nothing and told me tha my computer was not infected. These other companies are not Microsoft they just say that they have Microsoft techs and they are outsourced possibly as the tech had a strong accent. The guy lied to me to get me to give him my credit card number, I consider this theft. As you cannot file this type of cpmplaint here, I would call it innappropriate conduct as he was quite rude to me as well and spoke to me in a demeaning an demanding tone of voice. I felt coerced and abused.Desired Settlement: This company should be cleaned up and investigations into illegal activity should be made immediately, as there are customers that are being abuse dand stolen from

Consumer

Response:

The company should not lie to the customer and tell them that there is a virus in order to get money for something that does not need to be done. I think the company should clean itself up and monitor its tech people better. The company (Itech), should investigate itself, that is what I meant. I don't know how the Revdex.com can make these people be more ethical but it is my hope that my complaint will help stop this kind of activity and that other people do not get their money stolen. What they are doing is theft or extortion. It is criminal. If I did the same thing I would be put in jail.

Review: I went to the ** website to get help wiht aprinter problem. Thinking the thec I was speaking with ws an ** employee, I allowd him access to my computer, He asked me if I use my computer for banking or shoping. He said my computer was infected with hackers who were trying to steal my data and he could fix it for $199. When I wnet to put in my credit card information, the site was labeled ITech Line, not **. I told the tech I was not comfortabel becasue I did not know who he was, and he got agressive with me stating "YOU CALLED ME AND I AM TRYING TO HELP YOU" I HAVE [redacted] SECURITY FOR MY COMPUTER AND HE SAID THAT [redacted] ONLY CONTROLLS VIRUS, AND THAT HACKERS ALEREDY HAVE ACCESS TO MY COMPUTER. I disconnedcted the call and consulted [redacted] who told me it was a scam and that my computer was safe. I am afraid that when ITech Line had access to my computer that they downloaded some information, I have no way of knowing.Desired Settlement: I would like to be certain that they have not retrieved any information form my computer but I am not sure how to find that out.

Review: Engaged iTechline on Sep 19 to resolve an issue with my PC. They indicated they would have it solved in 2 hours. After 3 hours, I told them it was time to quit and cancel the transaction. I spoke with the manager on duty and he indicated that the transaction would be canceled and that he would follow it up in writing. The confirmation was never sent.

I called back on Sep 26 and spoke with the same manager. He indicated that billing made an error and accidentally processed the transaction but that they would once again process the credit. I was told once again that they would follow up in writing and it was not received. Incidentally, I also called on Sep 23 to request the credit memo and was promised a written response; nothing received.

iTechline's own refund policy is 507 days to process refunds. They are outside of their own policy right now; I have waited 7 days, the credit has not been issued; I have received no official communication stating it has been credited.

Professionally, this company has a lot to be desired, on my final call with the manager on Sep 26, he faked a "technical issue" with the phones so that he could get out of the corner his lies placed him in.

I request 2 things. (1) Credit issued immediately' and (2) Letter of apology from whoever is responsible for their corporate responsibility/ethics office. This I worked with needs remedial training and should not be allowed in front of customers. Absolutely no excuse for the way their actions.Desired Settlement: I request 2 things. (1) Credit issued immediately' and (2) Letter of apology from whoever is responsible for their corporate responsibility/ethics office. This I worked with needs remedial training and should not be allowed in front of customers. Absolutely no excuse for the way their actions.

Review: On August 30, 2013, I was having a problem with my computer and tried to contact [redacted], the manufacturer of my computer. I thought I had reached [redacted] but I later found out that the company was ITech Line. The company took control of my computer and stated that it had been hacked. For a fee of $199.99 they stated they would remove the hacking and provide 3 months of technical service. Still thinking it was [redacted], I agreed and allowed them to remotely "repair" my computer. Only after they had taken my credit card information and receiving a confirmation did I realize that this was not [redacted]. About an hour later, I received a call from a person stating they were from [redacted] and that there were additional problems with my computer licensing and, for an additional charge, they would restore my computer. At that point I realized that this was a racket (how did this person know my phone number) and hung up on the person. When I tried to log on to my computer, I received an error message stating I had an invalid copy of Windows7. This had never happened before. Fearing that there may be more programming left my computer, I took my computer in for repair and to remove whatever programming ITech Line may have left. I replied to a confirmation email from a [redacted] at ITech Line stating that this was a fraudulent order. When I checked my bank, they had charged me $199.99 five times. I again emailed [redacted] about these charges with no reply from him or from anyone at ITech Line.. My bank removed four of the charges and stated I should try to contact the company to resolve this dispute. Since I did not get a reply to my emails, I have tried to contact the numbers for ITech Line Customer Service (###-###-####) and Tech Support (###-###-####) but the phone goes to music and does not even ring.Desired Settlement: I want ITech Line to reverse the charge on my credit card since they did not perform the stated service. The repairs resulted in additional damage. I do not want the three months of technical service. I am fearful of allowing this company access to my computer ever again.

Review: This computer repair company who claims to contract through [redacted] offered me a service which did not work. I allowed them to work on my computer for a charge of $199.99 with a promise from this company that the service that they were offering would not allow computer hackers to get into my computer. This service was supposedly a much higher security system that would protect my computer from online hackers forever. (their words) I contacted customer service to let them know that the product did not work for me and requested a refund. The person I spoke with said that a refund is not an option. I would like to get my money back because I do not want the service. My service is supposedly still under contract as I had a 90 warranty starting May 25th 2013. Hopefully this company will have the decency to refund my money for a service that does not work.Desired Settlement: To get my money back

Review: I was having computer problems. I called [redacted] my Internet Security provider. When the matter was not resolve. I had to look up the number for [redacted], which I did,on the internet. However, when I entered [redacted], it advertised as being listed as a [redacted] provider. However I got this company called ITechline. They pretended to be apart of [redacted] and charged me $129.99 for this service. I thought that the whole transaction was strange. So, I looked up [redacted] number again. And made sure that I got the correct company. [redacted] said they did not have a record of my call and would always provide a confirmation #. They said they would have helped and would not be charging for this service since I have a two year contract with them and paid for their servicesDesired Settlement: I want my money back

Review: I had a hacker call me on phone and convinced me that they were Microsoft Corp. They took complete control of my PC telling me that they were alerted that a hacker was shutting down my running systems. They had me go to Start menu and RUN "Prefetch", "Prefetch Hacking file", "[redacted]" and "msconfig". I told them that I would not give them any personal info or credit cards over phone. They assured me that they would not ask later to be taken to a website with a download called [redacted]. I/hacker downloaded this [redacted] and it directed me to a page to input my billing info. The downloaded file was called "AA_v3.exe" (I later removed this file). They told me that they were off my PC and that I could put info in without worry. I refused to do so and asked for more details about the callers name and company phone number. At this point they hung up but still had complete control of my PC. I knew I was HAD! I fought them with my mouse to close down PC. I immediately called a friend with internet access to give me the direct number for [redacted] 360. The number that was given was a FRAUDULENT number for [redacted] ###-###-#### but I didn't know that at the time. I called this number and herd the automated info (exactly the same as the REAL [redacted] number ###-###-####) and spoke to a rep about what had just happened. They assured me that they would check my PC and fix any problems. They said they would transfer me to ITechLine, claiming they were a reputable company that they use for an unbreakable Firewall. I was a bit skeptical but I didn't worry because I thought it was through [redacted]! They transfered me and ITechLine took full control of my PC exactly the same way that the Called Hacker did but again I didn't worry. They told me I would have to pay for this Unbreakable Firewall at $199, it was to be for the life of my PC, plus 3-months of free Tech Support if any other problems occured, but assured me that they wouldn't. They gave me a transaction ID number and a special website where I was entered into system with special numerical code in order to get into website at www.support.me they ran a full system scan and the files showed up in RED on my PC, telling me that those were the hacked files. They said that 60% of my PC was taken over by hackers but assured me that my Identity was NOT compromised. Four days later, on November 25, 2013 I went into my [redacted] 360 account and checked my Network which showed that my PC was "AT RISK" I did scans but they showed that there were no viruses, etc to fix. So I called ITechLine ###-###-#### and it did not ring, but played music for almost an hour. I decided to hang up and just call [redacted] direct. [redacted] rep told me that they had no record showing that I had called them on Nov. 21, 2013 and that they would not transfer me to another company for services. Frustrated, worried and fed-up I do not understand, to this day, HOW they hacked the number for [redacted]. I Google searched the company to find that there were other people who were told the same thing about their computer being hacked and taken 60% control of, but identity was not compromised. They too were claiming and complaining that ITechLine is FRAUD! However, in my Google search the other consumers had CALLED THEM! Not the other way around, hacking into [redacted] system or changing phone numbers. I do not know how they did it... for all I know, they were the same hackers who originally called me claiming they were Microsoft. I put this complaint under "A Bait & Switch Advertisement" because I didn't know what it would be called that happened to me, but Baiting and Switching sounds about exactly what happened.Desired Settlement: STOP changing/falsely advertising that you are [redacted] (in Google searches), or any other company for that matter. STOP calling and Hacking into peoples Networks! I want a FULL refund for the $199, plus tax; you wanted my money, and you found a way to get it. Now I want it back! I want someone to contact me on this issue without asking for personal info or credit cards!

Review: I never authorized payment for a renewal contract and they did this with out my permission via my checking account from my original purchase information. In addition raising the price to a rediculaus amount I wouldn't have agreed with under any circumstance. I first notice this today as I was reviewing a statement from the bank because it causes insufficient funds in my account. I did not catch this until today however because I lost my job in January and have been suffering from several disabilities. In addition I was wrongfully terminated from my job as a result. I called immediately to contest these matters and demand they returned my money and they are refusing to do so claiming its five days past their policy for such. I did not authorize this transaction, was not made aware of it and want my money they stole/took with out my permission. Please help me I am in desperate need of every cent I have and the bank charged me 60 dollars too because I was not aware of this.Desired Settlement: At the very least I want to refunded the monies the took for the renewal of the domain names I did not permit! I would take the loss to the bank but I would also like a letter explaining the occurrence so I can show the bank that it was not of my neglect for the insufficient funds.
