Review: Purchased [redacted] Deal from Its Duct time for whole house duct cleaning. Upon arrival bait and switch on price. Nothing in fine print. I purchased a [redacted] "Deal" for whole house duct cleaning from It's Duct time for 49.00. I was stood up on initial appointment, and rescheduled. Upon arrival the technician was presented with my coupon and stated that it was for a maintenance cleaning only, and that it should have been explained when the initial appointment was set up. It was not, even on the multiple times I spoke with their representative. My wife is out one day waiting for someone that never showed, even after multiple phone calls, and I was out .5 day for the make up appointment that was disappointing. The tech explained that he is subcontracted out by the company "It's Duct Time" and that this is a frequent occurrence. There is a fine print section on the coupon, and it makes no mention or reference to "If your ducts have never been cleaned, it will cost you $220.00 to have it done." To sum up, I am out $49.00, a day and a half wages and my ducts never got cleaned. Oh and when you do call them (1-888-533-1811) you get a call center. Good luck getting them to contact you back.Desired Settlement: I would like my 49.00 refunded to my credit card, or give them the option to make good on what their deal states " VOUCHER FOR A WHOLE-HOUSE AIR DUCT CLEAING AND DRYER VENT CLEANING FROM ITS DUCT TIME " Their choice.

Response:

Seriously....passing the buck to [redacted]? They only hosted the vendors deal and language. The liability rests with the company stating one thing and coming to my house with a bait and switch tactic, not having a customer service center (but a number at a call center where someone has to be reached to call you back and that could take an hour or longer). It's Duct Time hired subcontractors to do the work, it did not state this in their living social deal, I was left with the impression that it was local, and still was up until the communication from Revdex.com of MD stating I needed to take it up with San Diego. As far as I am concerned, I rendered payment to [redacted] who in turn rendered payment to It's Duct Time. However you choose to see it, the company got paid for services it misstated and were not rendered. It could not be cleared up while the subcontractor was at my house, as the call center could not get someone to call back while the technician was waiting. I held him up for an hour (as I was angry about being taken advantage of).Someone needs to do something, either refund my money or make good on the service I paid for.[redacted]###-###-####[redacted]Dundalk, MD 21222

IN RESPONSE TO THIS CUSTOMER'S COMPLAINT, OUR COMPANY HAS AGREED TO GIVE THE CUSTOMER A $49.00 CHECK AND TO COMPENSATE FOR THE INCONVENIANCE WE ARE OFFERING HIM A FREE ELECTROSTATIC, LIFETIME WARRANTY FILTER THAT WILL BE SENT TO HIS HOME. CUSTOMER IS HAPPY AND THE REFUND CHECK SHOULD BE ARRIVING TO HIS HOME WITHIIN 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS.

Review: This compnay is a scam.

They offer their services through living social and [redacted] and they never show up. They have changed their name 5 times to cover up their tracks. The more I dig into this company the more bad news I find. The Revdex.com actually has known about this "company" but hasn't been able to keep up with the rate that this company changes its name. Here's a link talking about this scam.

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want what was promised. I want either a refund or an electrostatic filter (which was offered as a remedy to the hourly wages I lost from having to leave work early- twice) But mostly,

I want this company shut down once and for all.

Review: I purchased a [redacted] for a full service cleaning from It's Duct Time (I.D.T.). I called them before the purchase to find out about hidden costs. I was assured the only costs would be $20 per extra return...totalling $40 out of my pocket at the time of service (plus the initial cost of the $49 for the [redacted]). Before initial appt. time I was called and told my tech went out of town on family business and another company would be taking care of my appointment. It was agreed that the other company would honor prices I was quoted by I.D.T. Day of appt. the other company shows up to complete service and informed me that it would cost around $325 to fully complete the services I was expecting. No where on the coupon does it mention main lines to and from my unit, nor was it mentioned the day I called to question ALL costs above the coupon price. Tech informed me that this is typical of companies to fail to mention that the main lines will cost more above and beyond the intial price. I was furious and called the number for I.D.T. off of my coupon. I spoke with a girl and explained my situation. She said she would see what she could do and call me back. The next day after no response, I called back. This time I spoke with [redacted], who claims to be the manager in charge. I explained the situation to her and that I wanted to know how she could remedy the situation. We talked and it was agreed that they would send out a tech to complete all services without further costs above what I was intially quoted. I was given the new appt time and made sure it was on a day that I did not have to work or have any other obligations. I was told that someone would be there between 9-11A.M. and that I would get a call prior to tech arriving. It is now morning of my appt and I have not heard from a tech about arrival. I have now talked with [redacted], manager from initial call. She has informed me that the tech had informed her that he cannot make it to my appt today (it's only 11:30 A.M.) because he has other jobs that he needs to do that are not on I.D.T.s schedule. She informed me that she is going to have to do something about this tech and let me know when they can reschedule an appt for me to have services completed.Desired Settlement: I have a daughter that suffers from allergies and asthma. We have been in our house a year now, and we do not know if the ducts have ever been cleaned, and if they have when it was done. I would like the services to be completed so that I know they have been done and we can keep up on a regular schedule of the service. I am not settling for a filter or a refund from the company like others have. I will only settle for the services being fully completed to give me assurance my daughter is going to be able to breathe with no complications from our air quality.

Review: This company advertised a coupon for discounted duct cleaning services. Upon seeing the coupon, I called to make an appointment and the first available appointment was over three months into the future. I booked the appointment and put up with allergies every time the furnace came on for three months. When the appointment finally came, my mother was in town visiting me. She was in the home when the "technicians" arrived. She watched everything they did. They did not even hook the equipment up to my main air duct. They hooked it up to a return vent. They ran the equipment for a few minutes, packed up and left. I had left a check for my mother to give them. As soon as I arrived home from work, she told me they really did not do anything at all and what they were doing was not at all the proper way to clean air ducts. This is a fraud service by people who do not know what they are doing. I put a stop payment on the check the next day, as my mother was furious that they would even take payment for what they did. They were also supposed to clean the dryer vent but did not. I called to complain a number of times and got the runaround until I became very demanding. I was finally sent a refund. I am more concerned about their lack of integrity, cheating San Diegoans of their right to have a service properly performed when they pay a company. This is an out and out fraudulent company. Now I see they have 40 complaints against them.Desired Settlement: Expose this company and their fraudulent practices.

Review: On 4/10/13 purchased a voucher from livingsocial for It's Duct Time for whole house air duct cleaning and dryer vent cleaning. Sched appt for 4/17 btwn 3p&5p it was a no call no show. Called company and they ask me to resched didn't know why they did not come. Resched for 4/19 btwn 10a&12noon, no call no show. Called the company and ask them if they didn't call customer when they where not coming. The lady ([redacted]) told me that they had noted that they tried to contact us. The truck had broken down. I told her both my husband and myself had been their and gotten no calls. I checked my husbands phone showed a miss call but no message. I aplogized. We rec'd a message about an hour later. She ask me to resched I told her I would but if this happen again I was contacting Revdex.com. Resched for 4/22 btwn 2p&4p. At 3:55 I called to see if they where coming was told they would have the tech call me. At 4:30 my husband called they told him that the tech was calling. At 4:55 call back told them I wanted to talk with a manager told me no manager in the office but they would have one call. About 5mins later the tech we told him we where going to cancel and he hung up with no reply. Called back to company and told them I want to still speak with a manager [redacted] called me back. She said all she could say was that she was sorry and that she didn't know what I wanted. I told her good customer service. I told her I was turning this into Revdex.com and she said she would be waiting for the complaint. As if I won't turn it in. More info not enough room.Desired Settlement: I am getting a refund from [redacted]. But I would like it noted that this is not a reliable company. And that this company does something to better there customer service. After 3 no call no show I think they should be doing this service FREE of charge with no complaints from them.

Review: I purchased two [redacted] vouchers to have my HVAC ducts cleaned. My initial appt was scheduled for July 19, 2013 between 8-10:00am. I took half a day off from work and the technician no-showed. When I called Customer Service at ###-###-####, I was told a dispatcher would call me back with an update. 2hours later, I was called and told the "machine" was in the shop and my service would need to be rescheduled. My apt was rescheduled for July 23rd and I asked to have a supervisor call me back. On Monday July 22nd the supervisor called @ 3pm EST asking about the nature of my problem. I explained the situation and asked that she confirm the technician would be at my house the next morning as scheduled. She reassured me the technician would be able to provide the service the next morning. To compensate me for the half day I'd missed from work, she promised to send me an electrostatic filter for one of my air handlers. The next morning I again took off a half day from work and again the technician no-showed. When I called Customer Service, they reassured me I was on the schedule and the technician was simply running behind schedule. Several hours later the supervisor called to let me know the technician's truck was actually in the shop, so they weren't going to be able to provide the service. Frustrated at this point after now missing a full day of work, I requested a full refund in additional to the electrostatic filter previously promised. I have received the refund check; however, I have not received the filter promised. I feel it's impossible for this business located in CA to remotely manage independent contractors located in NC and want to let others in my area know to avoid this service company.Desired Settlement: In addition to the refund check which I have received, I want them to send me the 20x20x1 permanent electrostatic filter they originally promised to send on July 22 as compensation for the time I missed from work. I would also like this company to stop doing business in NC as they have no physical presence here. I would also like them to stop offering [redacted] vouchers which they don't have the "bandwidth" to fulfill.

Review: I purchased a voucher for a whole house duct cleaning through [redacted]. My initial appointment they told me had to be set up approximately one month later. The night before that appointment at 6pm I received a call saying that the appointment needed to be rescheduled. When I called back the next day the girl who answered the 1-888# said she didn't see any notes that it needed to be rescheduled and they should be coming. By the end of the day when nobody called or showed I called back two more times before some other girl called me and said she was the ONLY one that did scheduling, she apologized and when I explained my need to have this done ASAP was due to severe sinus problems that I feel the dust in my apartment was contributing to, she said she would have them do a free sanitization service for my inconvenience. That appointment was set for 5/28. On 5/28 after I had taken the day off of work (for the second time) and had a friend come to take my kids to school so I wouldn't miss the appointment, I sat around waiting with no show. When I called, the girl at the 1-888# said my appointment was not in the system and rescheduled me for today 6/4. on 6/3 I called them to verify my appointment and they said that yes it was scheduled. Well today is 6/4 and day three now of a no show and when I called I was told "oh no one has shown up? Oh well the truck broke down" which was amazingly fast that she found that out, sounded more like a rehearsed excuse. I asked to talk to a manager and the young girl told me that there was no one else to talk to but her. I told her that there was no way that she was the only one to speak to when she was just answering the toll free customer service #. She offered to reschedule me for a fourth time and I told her I want a refund. She agreed to give me a refund and made it sound like she was doing me a favor because I wouldn't have to go through Living Social. This did me NO favor seeing as how I have taken 3 days off of work to get this done.Desired Settlement: I would like an actual manager or owner of the company to set this right. I have taken off three days from work to get this done, I have had to find friends to bring my kids home one day and to take them to school another day all to sit at home. Obviously they knew they had made a mistake the first appointment or I would not have been told I would get a free sanitization with my service. I work in retail as well and would be fired if this is how I treated clients.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I asked for the refund due to the fact that after the third no show on their part, I figured that was the best I would get. I did not and will not agree to the fact that the refund made me "happy", if it had I would not have contaced the Revdex.com. I feel that due to the fact that I had to take three days off from my job and get someone to take my kids to and from school for me, that they inconvenienced me more and cost me an estimated $250 (pay lost), that the refund just simply doesn't cover. I am disappointed in this business and would strongly suggest that other consumers steer far away. Regards,[redacted]

Review: I bought a $49 voucher for a whole house air duct cleaning and dryver vent cleaning from this company through [redacted]. I scheduled an appointment that was more than a month out on August 15th 2013 and the waited for them on that day. They never showed and never called. I called them after 30 minutes past the start of the appointment and after waiting 10 minutes on a switchboard waiting service with a message saying I was the next caller. I spoke to a person who said the appointment schedule was messed up and they need to reschedule. It was rescheduled for August 22nd. They did show up this time but upon arriving stated the coupon does not cover the "mold" they have found which was not shown to us and that would cost around $300 to clean plus they "really needed to open up other piping and ducts to truly clean everything" which would cost another $200. After we told them we just wanted what was called out on the coupon of cleaning the whole house ducts and dryer vent they were annoyed and finished up the quoted 2 hour work in 20 minutes and left. After reviewing their "work", the dryer vent was not cleaned and they barely looked like the ducts were touched.Desired Settlement: Would like my $49 I spend on the [redacted] voucher back.

Regards,

Review: I scheduled an appt on 5/23 w/ Its Duct time for air duct cleaning after purchasing a voucher on groupon for 4-6. I called on 5/23 morning to verify appt and it was confirmed. After waiting until 5:30, I called to see if someone was still coming. I was told yes and that a technician would call me. I waited another 10 mins and no one called. I called again and I was told they could not get ahold of their technician but someone would be calling me back in a couple of mins. I called back after 10 more mins and I was told the same thing again. I waited another 15 mins and I was told that the technician was tied up and they were still coming and they will call me when they were on there way. No one came nor did anyone call. The next day 5/24 I called and stated how no one showed up to my scheduled appt nor did I receive a call. I politely stated my frustration of the situation because I had to rearrange my schedule to fit in this appt. I shared my dislike for this treatment and I was given many apologies. I asked would someone be able to come quickly and I was told a week from that date. I told them to just cancel me and I was redirected to a sooner date the following Tues 5/28 for 4-6pm. I asked the simple question will my services be done on this date because my time is also valuable and I work. I was assured that this would not happen again. On Tues 5/28 I called to confirm my appt early in the morning and I was told that the appointment was still scheduled. At 5pm I called to confirm appointment again due to prior experience and I was reassured that my appointment would be met. At 5:30 I was worried due to past with this company so I called again and was told that the technician would call me in a few to tell me his location. At 5:45 I called for an update because no one called and I was told that the techs were 3 hours behind and MAY still come. After saying they did this to me last time, I was told that they honestly need to reschedule me for a date in June. My time was wasted again.Desired Settlement: It would have been great for the company to make accommodations to correct original mistake such as going past their ref hours due to their mistake. Trying to reschedule me for another date AGAIN is not an appropriate solution. I expect a company to have a conflict resolution system instead of me having to file a complaint with Revdex.com after giving the company ample opportunities to resolve the issue. I noticed the company replies to complaints with general responses but no adequate resolutions.

Review: In March 2013, Its Duct Time sold duct cleaning services through [redacted]. I have bought many certificates from [redacted] and have had no complaints. I was wary about this offer, because it did not specify who the provider was in any meaningful way until after the sale. However, having had no bad experiences, I thought I'd give it a try. I purchased two certificates because we have two separate heat pumps in our home. I have called the phone number listed for this business on the certificate numerous times over the past 6 weeks, attempting to schedule an appointment. Despite repeated attempts to contact the company and many messages left on their answering machine, they have yet to contact me. In my last message, I told them I would contact the Revdex.com and the State Attorney General's office if I did not hear from them. No one has called me. Since then, I have found numerous complaints about this company all over the internet. I have learned my lesson about due diligence, but am still out the $98 paid for services I will never receive. [redacted] will not help with this, since they are supposedly not out of business and it has been more than 7 days since my purchase.Desired Settlement: I would like the funds I paid refunded to me. I have no desire to even attempt to schedule service with this company, since most consumer complaints are about "no shows" when they are able to schedule an appointment.

Business

Hi,Our company has tried reaching out to this customer and left messages, but we will send her a refund of $98.00 in a check form and she should receive it within 3-5 business days. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The company called late at night and left a message on my cell phone only after your office contacted them. The message was very unprofessional, with TV and pets in the background, and instructed me to call them at the number where I had repeatedly left messages. Leaving another message did not prompt anyone to call me. In my opinion, this matter has not been resolved.

Regards,

Review: We purchased a coupon on LivingSocial with a paid value of $49 and a promotional value of $80 for "whole-house air duct cleaning and dryer vent cleaning." We then scheduled an appointment which was cancelled at the last minute due to a "family emergency." We then rescheduled and no one showed up or called on the new date. Repeated attempts to call to to followup by us have not been answered or returned.Desired Settlement: Request a full refund as Company has failed to provide services per contract on several occassions and used false excuses as every juncture.

Review: Like many others, I purchased a voucher on behalf of Its Duct Time for duct cleaning services which were never rendered. The “call center” made the appointment and ensured me I would receive a courtesy call 30 minutes prior to the technicians arrival. The day of the appointment, I decided to research any reviews available for Its Duct Time. The results were very concerning and prompted me to follow up on my scheduled appointment since I intended to take off from work. After repeated efforts to reach someone, the representative at their “call center” informed me she would have the technician call me directly. When asked for the company’s name, she said it wasn’t available to her (Red Flag). She said she would have her supervisor return my call with a company name and contact. To no surprise, my call was never retuned and the technician never showed up.

There’s a lot of scams out there and “its duct time” is no exception. In hindsight, I should have checked the reviews on the internet and the “F” rating on Revdex.com. Typically, I don’t write reviews but felt it was justified if it helps the next potential buyer from this scam. Do not conduct business with this company or seek reimbursement and save yourself the headaches.

Review: I purchased a [redacted] in April for a whole house cleaning from Its Duct Time and I made an appointment right away. The earliest I could get service was June 27. I was scheduled for a 4-6 window and I thought that was kind of late (what if they came at 6pm and it took 2 hrs?) but like an it I didn't question it. I never heard from them again. (Usually you get a confirmation call or someone calls when they are on their way etc) At 5:30 I was getting worried. I called but got a recording that they were busy with other customers. I left a message. At 6:15 I got the same recording and left another message. I left another message at 7pm (but I was not as polite this time) I thought I would get a call the next morning but by noon I STILL had not heard from anyone so I left another message. I called again after 5pm and FINALLY got a live person. I asked her what was going on and she didn't know. I asked her why no one responded to my messages and she didn't know that either. Then she wanted to know if I wanted to reschedule!! (I almost lost it but I stayed calm) I let her no that there was no way in this world I would ever reschedule with them. The more I think about it, the madder I get! I have NEVER experienced such unprofessionalism! I am really upset and disgusted. I didn't even receive a sincere apology!Desired Settlement: I want the $49 I paid refunded.

Review: I purchased the following Groupon: $49 for an Air-Duct-Cleaning Package ($318 Total Value) Which included:

Air-duct cleaning for unlimited supply ducts with one return (a $189 value)

Dryer-vent cleaning (a $60 value)

Air-conditioner or furnace check-up (a $69 value)

Yet All I received was my return & dryer vent being cleaned with a vacuum like machine. I was told the ducts would be an additional $189.00 & no mention of the A/C Compressor being cleaned which per their web-site is the 1st step to having clean air in a home. Either their tech didn't know what he was doing or all the reviews I have read today are VERY True!Desired Settlement: I would like to either have the work completed or a full refund. I waited almost 2 months for an appointment & had to have my husband take time off work to be here.

Regards,

Review: I bought a [redacted] deal for air duct/dryer vent cleaning with this company back in April. This was great, since just the day before my dryer vent had become clogged. I called to set up my appt and was told by the very rude operator that their first available appt was not until June 10(over 2 months away). I informed her that my vent was actually clogged and asked if there was anything sooner, she said no. I asked if there was a local number I could call (apparently company is based in CA, I'm in OK). She haughtily informed me that the number I had dialed was the only number I could call. I asked if I could be put on a cancellation list, she said yes. We hung up.Fast forward 2 months. I called on Friday 6/7 to make sure I was scheduled since I hadn't heard a word from them since April. After talking to a couple of girls it was confirmed that yes, I was on the schedule for 6/10, 11am-1pm time slot. I had a couple of questions which were begrudgingly answered.I had to take off work Monday to be home for the tech. I waited...and waited. At 1:10 I called the 888 number and got an answering machine. I did not leave a message. I called again at 1:15, got a real person, told them my appt window had passed and I hadn't seen or heard from anyone, and asked when I could expect the tech. She seemed a little confused and transfered me to [redacted], who said she was the office manager. I told her my situation, gave her my ZIP code and address, and after a minute she said, "No one called you?" (I should add that someone DID call at 1:20, 20 minutes past my window, while I was talking to [redacted].) I said no, why? She informed me that the tech assigned to me that day had a family emergency and was unable to complete my service that day. ARE YOU KIDDING?! I've waited 2 months for this, having to vent my dryer through the garage like a redneck, and now they don't even have the courtesy to call me when they find out their tech isn't coming in? Unacceptable. We rescheuduled to next Monday. I hope they come.Desired Settlement: IF the tech does not show up on Monday 6/17 I would like a refund. This company seems shady, I really should have researched them more before I bought the [redacted] deal. Shame on me.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

This is an addendum to my previous complaint. Previously, I reported that I had to wait 2 months to get the appointment to get my dryer vent cleaned, then the day of the appt the tech was a no call/no show and my appt was rescheduled to Mon., 6/17. The appt time was 11am-1pm. I got a call around 10 am Mon from the tech, who said he was running late and it would be 1-3 pm. I said fine. He showed up at the house and my husband told him what was wrong (that the dryer vent was clogged). The tech checked the vent, confirmed that it was clogged, and told my husband that unclogging the vent was not part of the deal I had purchased. He said he could unclog it for an additional $150. My husband said no. So, the tech left. To his credit, he did not take the [redacted] voucher number and told us to use it some other time.I called Customer Service repeatedly that afternoon. I got an answering machine every time except the last time; when I asked to speak to a manager I was told that I would receive a call back.I called again yesterday, since I had not heard back from the manager. I spoke to a very reasonable woman who, after I told her the whole story, told me I would be issued a full refund by mail and could expect it in 3-5 business days.

none, it's already settled
