Review: I took my car for repair to him and have not received it yet and it has been over 30 days. He will not give me my vehicle back and I have paid him $1050. I told him that I am coming to pick up my vehicle but he has moved it to a vacant house. Some parts I have been stolen of the car. I have taken pictures of this How do I get my car back and my money? He won't return calls and he's never at the shop. Is he allowed to move my car without my permission?Desired Settlement: I want my car back as well as the money that I have paid him.

Mr.[redacted] had his ford explorer towed into my shop for repairs, the customer stated to me that he had a bad engine that needed replacing.I gave him a guote for the engine and labor, the customer gave me the ok so I ask Mr.[redacted] to pay for the engine and pay for the labor after the job is completed. So we purchase a used engine and install it,but after starting the used engine it was making a noise, the customer call checking on his truck and we explain to him what was going on with that engine and ask him to come by so he could see what was going on,the customer came by,he heard the noise and I explain to him that the junkyard would replace the engine.during that time I lost part of my finger and I was out of work so we got behind not just on his truck but other customers and Mr.[redacted] was aware of that.when I came back the customer was complaining about the time it was taking to complete his truck.when I came back we replaced the used engine with another engine that engine was making a lite noise so when Mr[redacted] came to the shop checking on his truck we let him hear that noise.I explain to Mr[redacted] that I had contacted the junkyard for a refund on that engine because that was two engine that we had got from them and we were loseing time and money.Mr.[redacted] wife came by demanding the truck,I told her that I was dealing with her husband.

I contacted a different junkyard about another engine, while waiting on the junkyard to get back with me on how long it would take to get me another engine a friend of mind that has been in business for over 30 years came by and I ask him if he could listen to the noise in that engine,he told me what the noise was and he could fix it,the timing chain.I was willing to pay to have that fix so he could get his truck.

When Mr.[redacted] came by I explain what was going on and he was ok with me taking the truck to Mr.[redacted]'s shop.he then ask where the shop was located and I gave him all of the information.

5 days later I gets a phone call late in the night that someone had towed Mr.[redacted] truck from Mr.[redacted]'s location..

Mr.[redacted] came by my shop asking for the hood, battery and keys. I ask him if he would sign a release form stating he took his truck on his own without repairs being completed before I would give him anything. his wife told him he didn't have to sign anything because that was his truck.

I have all of the dates and times on the invoice.

Thanks,

Review: My truck stopped on the freeway May 23, 2012. I had it towed to J&J Services, LLC. The mechanic told me my engine needed to be replaced. A week later my truck is towed to [redacted] Ford because the new engine that was supposed to be installed wasn't working with the truck's computer. After repeated calls to check the status of my truck, the mechanic said the truck was taken to another Ford dealership in [redacted]. After getting the run around for a month, I called [redacted] to see what the initial diagnosis was on my truck. After investigating, I learn my truck was "dumped" at [redacted] Ford since May 29, 2012. There wasn't a new engine installed and the owner left the truck and didn't come back to pick it up after [redacted] gave their diagnosis of the problem. The owner said he would pay the fees to get my truck out of [redacted]'s lot so I can take it to a reliable mechanic and he has not gone to pay the fee for two weeks. I call the owner daily and he makes an excuse of why he hasn't paid to get my truck out of [redacted]'s service lot. All the owner and mechanic had to do was admit they could not fix my truck and I would have taken it somewhere else. No harm no foul. I don't appreciate being lied to and given the run around for three months now.Desired Settlement: Pay the service fees from [redacted] Ford so I can get my new mechanic in to get the truck fixed.

Replying to this complaint on this ford explorer,on May 23,2012 customer call asking if I could take a look her truck, the truck had stopped on her then she had the truck towed into the shop,we took a look at the truck on May 24,2012 and found out that the engine was locked up,the customer ask how much would it cost to replaced the engine,I gave her a quote $1,460.00,customer then told me that they didn't have the money, she then ask if we were sure if that was the problem,I told her yes that was the problem.on May 27,2012 we then had the truck towed to ford, someone from [redacted] ford call and stated that the explorer had a bad engine,we contacted the customer they stated that thy would get back with us.the customer call wanting to make payment arangement,no money was ever given are change hand not even for the 4 hours labor cheking the truck out,at $50.00 an hour that would be $200.as for as the truck being at a dealership in [redacted],not true.I feel as we did all we could with the truck after being told that they wouln't have the money to repair the truck...

The owner isn't giving actual true accounts of the business transactions. I have listed the order of events regarding my truck:

Wednesday, May 23, 2012

- My truck is towed to J&J Services

Between Friday, May 25 and Friday, May 31

- I'm calling for a status report on my truck. I am told my truck is at [redacted] Ford because the new engine will not "talk" to the truck's computer.

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

- My truck delivered to Ford. Per [redacted] Ford's service delivery records, which they keep for every vehicle that comes on their lot for service

- [redacted] verifies a new engine was not installed but that the old engine was in and assessed it needed to be replaced

*Upon repeated status update calls, the issue from J&J Service was that the new engine wasn't "talking" to the truck's computer

Friday, June 1, 2012

- [redacted] Ford's service rep called [redacted] to get the diagnostic fee of $140.91 paid and pick up the truck. [redacted] from J&J Service didn't reply.

Between May 23, 2012 and Friday, July 20, 2012

- I would call the owner and his staff for a status on the truck. Repeatedly, they said the truck was either at [redacted] Ford, and then the [redacted] Dealership because [redacted] Ford couldn't figure out the issue or back at J&J, the original place of service.

Between July 23 and August 6

-I continued to call the owner after learning my truck was dumped at [redacted] Ford and left without further follow up. The owner repeatedly said he would go an pay the fee and never did.

My issue is since I originally had the truck towed to J&J Service for repair, why was my truck dumped at [redacted] Ford since May 29, 2012? I was told repeated lies about the actual whereabouts of my truck and the supposed service being completed.

I'm asking for the $140.91 diagnostic fee to release my truck from [redacted] Ford. The owner states a $200 maintenance fee when [redacted] did all of the work to assess the problem with my truck. J&J Service pays [redacted] for the diagnosis and I get my truck back so I can actually get it repaired!

If J&J Services could not fix my truck they should have been up front and honest and not dump my truck at [redacted] Ford!

Responding to the complaint, yes the customer brought her car in on 3/12/12 for overheating problem,we noticed that the engine had we first did a presure test on the engine, while doing the test we notice a leak between the intake and engine, that let me know that the intake gasket were bad,we talk to the customer about what we had found and what it would cost to repair, the customer stated she didn't have that much money, she gave the ok to repair the car.while taking the car apart notice that the engine had gunk bad on the inside, the engine had been ran extremly hot,we tried to remove as much of the gunk that was builed up.after replacling the gaskets and starting the car to hear it run we noticed that the car had a mist in the engine.call the customer to let her know her car was ready to be picked up.when customer came to pick the car up we explain what the overheating had caused, could have warped the heads that cause the mist, the only way we could determind and make sure if we would reomved the heads and have them check.the check engine light remain on from when the customer brought the car in.we repaired the bad intake gasket stopping the overheating, the customer ask about the check engine light, cylinder 3 and 6 were misfiring, explain to customer that that could have came from overheating the heads causing leaking valves on those two cylinder, customer didn't want to here the truth from where she had ran the car extremly hot, they don't understand that the engine is aluminum, dont take much to mess one up.the customer then paid for her repairs and took her car.On 5/10/12 the customer call me stating she was on the freeway headed to [redacted] and her car had stop on her and she had her car towed to another shop, she stated to me what the guy had told her,I told her at the time if I was something that we did I wouldn't have no problem repairing, she had the car towed to my shop.on 5/11/12 we got the car in and started checking it out noticed a water leak,(BOTTOM RADIATOR HOSE)had blown a big hole causing all the antifreeze to leak out.that what cause the car to overheat and shut down again...

I never stated the radiator was bad,I told her the radiator hose was bad and I also told her if [redacted] had check the car he would have seen that, customer then stated I don't know whats going on,at that point their wasn't anything I could do.to this day the car still sitting here.the customer text me threating me with what she was going to do.I call her and told her that her car was ready to be picked up.

If the customer want the car repaired I'm willing to help her as much as I can...

Response:

We only check the truck out after it was towed in,the engine timing belt broke,so we call and gave her the amount it would cost to repair and at that time she stated she didn't have the money to repair the truck, about two weeks later her husband call wanting to know if we were sure that that was the problem,he wanted a second opinion and we had the truck towed to the ford dealer.

We didn't charge her anything.if you need anymore information feel free to call...

Review: I had problems with my car overheating, I called [redacted] and he said to bring it in,this was on 3-12-12, he looked @ my car and said it was the intake gasket that was causing it to overheat...I let his shop replace the intake gasket, he called and said the housing around the thermostat was cracked and that would be another $200 I told him I will come and get my car, he said let me call the junk yard, supposedly they got one for $100, after that repair, I left the shop and noticed my check engine light on, I immediately called [redacted] and he told me to bring it back in...the guy he had working on my car name is [redacted], he said it was the 6 cylinder, I had them replace that, the check engine light was still on, they told me the it was because the 3rd cylinder was oily and to get some seafoam from advance auto parts and put it in my gas tank, that would clean the cylinders off and the check engine light would go off, I did that twice and it was still on...I notified [redacted] that it was still on..they said I needed all kinds of things done to my car, I felt like they were trying to nickle and dime me to death. I was on my way to [redacted] on May 10, 2012, my car shut off, I had it towed to [redacted] @ [redacted] in [redacted]. I was told on 5-12 it was my engine, the owner of [redacted]) said whoever worked on my car left all kinds of bolts loose and that caused antifreeze to leak on my headgaskets and caused my engine to blow, I went to J & J services and told [redacted] what [redacted] said, he said have it towed to his shop and if his guys messed up my car he would take care of it, I had it towed on 5-15 and he still has my car, never once has he called me on the status, I had to call him every week, he always said give me a few more days...I eventually became frustrated of hearing the same story week after week and I called his shop on 7-14, they didn't answer so I texted his cell phone and I was straight to the point on me wanting my car repaired by any means necessary, I threatened to call the Revdex.com, and any news media who will listen and the cols dispatch, he called me after reading the text, he said it was my water pump that caused my car to stop on 5-10 but the engine was going to need replaced soon anyway and he was doing me a favor and to give him another week, today his receptionist called me and said they found the problem with my car...its the radiator, it has holes in it and that caused the antifreeze to leak out and made your car run hot....I'm guessing she doesn't know that he told me on 7-14 it was the water pump causing my car to run hot...anyway I don't trust anything that he says now...I personally don't think its [redacted] who caused the damage to my car but the guys (who I don't think are certified mechanics) he has working for him, that still makes him liable for what they do wrong. The intake gaskets, the motor, the water pump or the radiator, whatever the trouble may be I just want my car back!Desired Settlement: I would like my car back, immediately, and repaired properly. Thank You

Response:

[redacted]'s response to my complaint is full of untruths, more then half of what he said he told me is not true, its news to me, he didn't personally tell me my radiator had holes in it but his receptionist did, and he told me his self that it was my water pump. My daughters husband's aunt is a attorney, I will be contacting her asap to see my options are, I have been without my car for 3 mos now and I find that ridiculous and bad business. I have ph records and paperwork to validate what I said to be the truth. I'm not trying to cause any problems for anyone, I just want my car back, with a working motor of course!
