When we started we had no electric, no heat, and no water during the first month to month and a half in that time I used my generator and a torpedo heater while we were working, now mind you we had zero and below zero temperature days in the month of FebruaryDuring this time we were cutting out doorways and making larger openings which includes taping and using joint compound to fill the seams and also we textured the walls of the whole first floor of about rooms which was not included in the contract, this took days to dry due to such cold weatherThere were also a few other things that were not included such as electrical work, plumbing, and re drywalling another roomDuring the process after a month and a half ruffly the home owner has brought young children to the construction site nearly everyday leaving them run around in an unsafe environment at these times we could not continue working while the children were thereAlso anytime we have asked for material [redacted] (project supervisor) would only bring me few things not what I have asked for for example I have sent her text telling her I need at least (2) pound bags of thin set mortar and she only brought one pound bag I exclaimed I need more than that so she brings me another pound bag finally after or days she got all the mortar I needed, its things like this that are a hold up I cannot make progress if I don't have material I needI may be somewhat tempermental but that's because I am a boss not an employee, and there very well was some material left including electrical wire plumbling supplies, ectFor all the extra work I did and utilities not being on I owe [redacted] nothing I gave her a bid originally that was around $more than what I wrote the contract up for she asked for a deal that's what I gave her, in return I lost money she got a better deal from me than any contractor would have gave her I am sorry things did not work out, I have never had a problem with any of my customers like this before

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not satisfy my complaint.  I attempted to attach documents, but it kept timing out.  I will be happy to send you a picture of what he claims to be the half way done project and a copy of the contract showing the amount of $5200 with a down payment of $2800, which is more than the half he claims was paid.  He also claims he purchased alk the materials for the project, which is a lie.  I have messenger conversations that I can mail to you as well if you would like.  He cashed my $2800 check on 10/14/16 and apparently only purchased some of the materials needed, as he is now telling me he can't finish the job because he has no money for materials.  He was supposed to start work on 10/24/16. He didn't show up until 11/16/16 to demo the porch.  He ignored my requests for a refund and never mentioned at that time he had not purchased all the materials.  He didn't show up again until 11/28/16 to frame it and put the deck on.  That is when he finally responded to you claiming he was half way done.  There was no railing, no steps or roof, so very far from half way done. I then have messenger conversations that prove he told me he wasn't going to finish the job until I paid him half the remaining balance. A clear violation of his own contract.  He then went on to complain about having kids and bills to pay and he was broke and had no money for gas or additional materials.  If you note in his response to you, he claims to have bought all the materials.  He asked if I would give him some money if he worked on 12/3/16. Told him I would not leave a check and it would deoend on progress when I got home from work.  I consulted with others in the meantime and was told he cannot ask for more money and the $2800 deposit was to be used to purchase. all the materials for my project. He claimed to not have enough gas to get home, so I gave a check for $100 to be deducted from the bakance due....definitely not a gift! He laughed and said this won't do any good.  I don't have money to buy more materials to finish the job.  Told him that was his problem and that $2800 was more than enough for materials.  He now will not be back until he can hmget money off some other poor soul that trusted his line of ** sales pitch.   resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I  reviewed appear below.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have a signed contract with this contractor saying that he would finish everything , all the house was included and I can prove it . By saying I bring small children is just trying to give excuse . I paid him 350 dollars extra for my electrical work . I have witnesses and signed contract to prove it . Not even once I have delayed him in materials . He had put my tiles the wrong way and saying floor is not level then why would u put tiles when it's not level . He was all about money . I have fixed 15 homes , have LLC and attorney . If this is not resolved I will take this to my attorney . The day he took his tools off my other contractor saw goes missing . I am not saying he stole it but all suspicion goes on him as nothing happened before like this . He has no problems taking the job in the first place and kept lingering till spring time , once he starts getting work he did this . My 70 percent of work is not completed and I have pictures to prove it . I offered him that he can come and finish to the point I don't lose money and that is also because police has suggested me to see if he responds , not getting any response from him . I want u to take an action . Keep in mind that contract was signed 20 th jan , all utilities are hooked up after a month . He still had 2 more months but they quit coming and missing days . All they did is plaster , paint tiles in kitchen . I owe him only last deposit . I am taking this to the court cuz it's not fair . We paid him 2nd deposit when nothing was done but to just honor the contract we did it . Same wat he should be doing it.

Also anytime we have asked for material [redacted] (project supervisor) would only bring me few things not what I have asked for for example I have sent her text telling her I need at least (2) 50 pound bags of thin set mortar and she only brought one 25 pound bag I exclaimed I need more than that so she brings me another 25 pound bag finally after 3 or 4 days she got all the mortar I needed, its things like this that are a hold up I cannot make progress if I don't have material I need. I may be somewhat tempermental but that's because I am a boss not an employee, and there very well was some material left including electrical wire plumbling supplies, ect. For all the extra work I did and utilities not being on I owe [redacted] nothing I gave her a bid originally that was around $4000 more than what I wrote the contract up for she asked for a deal that's what I gave her, in return I lost money she got a better deal from me than any contractor would have gave her I am sorry things did not work out, I have never had a problem with any of my customers like this before.

Review: I had a contract with JB Remodeling in Johnstown, PA to replace and paint my balcony railing. As requested, I sent a check on 9/3/2013 for $1000.00. It was cashed on 9/10/2013 by [redacted] the owner (I have a copy of it). The work was to be done by [redacted] nephew, [redacted] on 9/9/2013. It was never done.I called several times over the last 7 months and heard many stories. I spoke to [redacted] today, 4/26/2014, and said I want my money back. [redacted] spoke with his uncle, [redacted] after our conversation and was told, in different words, "no way, I will not give the money back". I have 2 different addresses for this company: 1. 632 Virginia Ave., Johnstown, PA 15906 and 2. 129 Joseph Ave., Johnstown, PA 15902Desired Settlement: I want my full $1000.00 returned immediately.

Review: I have hired this contractor to do my job . He has given 25 percent wheb the work started and according to the contract he has been given 25 percent second deposit after week and a half even though his work was not far from being done . He made us believe that' that's how he operates and he will complete his work , now he left us with 70 percent of work incomplete . Just today he took his tools and took off . We have put too much faith in him and him bringing receipts and giving him reimbursement , his workers are pathetic , don't know what they are doing, I have to say all they did satisfactory is paint job I would not work with him again , guy is very temperamental and acts like a boss then an employee . From right to the beginning he is stressing me out . My materials I am pretty sure they are using on their other jobs cuz not even once it happened to me that contractors I use else where haven't returned the stuff they don't need , with them everything getting used with no returns . It alarms u that why there is nothing left . They don't put an 8 hour shift and leave early and them blame on others to justify themselves .Desired Settlement: I need him to compensate me for breaking the contract financially and having others to complete it . It is a waste of time money for the house which was supposed to be done March 20th and it's not completed . Refund amount 2500 dollars .
