Jefferson Capital Systems Reviews (%countItem)

I use to have a credit card with *** that ended in ***. Due to Financial difficulties I was unable to satisfy what owed to ***. The account was sent to collections soon after that Jefferson Capital Systems LLC. bought the rights to the account and they owned the account. The Ref # with Jefferson Capital Systems LLC was ***. On 05/20/2020 I paid $174.23 to settle the account with Jefferson Capital Systems LLC. I received a letter from Jefferson Capital Systems LLC. That stated "thank you for your payment , This account has been settled in full." My credit report reflects that the account is in Derogatory status and says its a charge off account. I disputed the account status with all the 3 major credit bureaus only to get a letter from *** stating they would not update account status with the credit bureaus because they no longer owned the account and stated I would have contact Jefferson Capital systems. I have Contacted Jefferson on 07 occasions and they kept telling me to go back to premier bank to have account updated . I did what they recommended but only to be told to go back to *** bank .Then *** sends back to Jefferson Capital Systems because they don't own the account. I have contacted Jefferson Capital Systems 7 times. They are unwilling to update the account that they bought from *** bank and report to the 3 major credit bureaus that the account has been settled in full. They tell me they will not update stating that account has been settled in full. They keep telling me to file dispute with the credit bureau. By Law they are required to report that the account has been settled in full. Jefferson is unwilling to assist me with this matter after buying the account from *** bank. Before I paid I was told that this would be deleted off my credit report which they absolutely told me before I settled the account.

Jefferson Capital put collection on my credit reports without my knowledge and in doing so, this violated the FDCPA Collection Practice by placing a collection account on my credit report without sending a letter to me. I checked & can't verify their registration in New Jersey; Both would be FDCPA violations. The only information of this debt I have, is reported on my recredit report with a partial account number.
I request that Jefferson Capitol verify the following information:
1. Full original Account Number
2. Date original Account was opened
3. Any written agreements between myself and the original creditor stating this debt is owed
4. Full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt
5. Date of the first delinquency
6. Dates and times of any phone calls made and to what number in attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to an agency, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by FDCPA law.

If Jefferson Capital Systems is unable to provide the above identifying account information, this account must be deleted from all CRAs. Jefferson Capital Systems also failed to follow FDCPA by not sending a letter giving the consumer time to dispute or validate the alleged debt within the allowed 30-day time frame that is allowed by law.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

On Feb 18, 2020 I filed a complaint with CFPB case #200219-4762645, due to Jefferson Capital Systems ("JCS") trying to collect a debt not owed. After 3 notices of dispute, and during 4 months after disputing the unrecognized debt "JCS" never provided proper validation, and never provided any evidence to prove, any binding liability, after never providing any proper validation as FTC Attorney *** describes in his opinion "JCS" was obligated to remove the account from my credit report not later, than 30 days according to the FCRA and FDCPA, and keeps violating the law by not removing the account reported as BBVA USA, that "JCS" clearly claims ownership, and to be the Current Creditor, as he has been doing for the last year. In addition to that "JCS", from the moment the consumer notified formally the dispute of the account had to place a note on the account about the dispute no later than 30 days as per the two Acts referred above mandate. The evidence provided shows 4 months showing no dispute. Jefferson Capital Systems has continuously been violating the FCRA, and the FDCPA. Attached you will find the detail, and evidence, to prove the multiple times that JCS violated the law, and keeps violating the law.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:
The response is absurd, and clearly false as proved with the evidence provided at first. Their answer is fraudulent, and with perverse intentions, as they clearly have the control and decision to ask the CRA to remove that account because of ownership.

My demand is clear, and legally supported as you may see. This company wants to avoid compliance to the FCRA, and the FDCPA. And now they also want to confuse the Revdex.com and lie with these statements as it has been proved. The complaint has not been addressed according to law, but evading it.

Please refer to the documents I provided as evidence, to support my complaint and my demand for action as I will do legally at court if not resolved with the always helpful mediation entity in the Revdex.com.

Thank you

Sincerely

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

As the Revdex.com can see in the evidence I provided, Jefferson Capital Systems is registered by the CRA as the owner, since the day they claim ownership to them.

What JCS is saying are half truths, and indeed BBVA never verified such account as mandated by law, before the supposed sell to JCS. As the owners I am claiming this to JCS, as well as will follow any legal avenues needed against the registered owner of that reported account.

Revdex.com all the evidence was provided from the beginning about ownership, which they can not neglect as they are doing trying to affect me.

Sincerely

this company is currently reporting on all three major credit reporting agencies. I never had a debt nor contract with this company.

Despite being told via phone and credit reporting agencies that this debt is not MINE, this debt collector has failed to remove this collection from my credit report. I was unaware of this debt until a credit search was done. I've never been notified of this debt and given a chance to dispute it prior to it being placed on my credit report. This debt collector failed to validate this debt PRIOR to placing it on my credit report. Shame on you for attempting to capitalize on others ignorance of how illegal what you are doing to so many others is! Not me, not today Jefferson Capital!

I have this account on my credit report from Jefferson Capital Systems for a few years. It showed up as an account with Verizon Wireless opened June 1, 2018. I had an account with Verizon that was paid off and closed in 2016. I called Verizon and they had no recollection of my account being bought by Jefferson Capital Systems. This year, they started calling me every few weeks about collecting the debt. At first I figured I could just pay to get it off my credit because I have been trying to work on my credit reports. They told me first that they cannot schedule payments, they cannot use debit cards ONLY take my bank account information and that is what was fishy to me because I have paid legitimate debts before and they were the complete opposite. Another red flag to me was when I gave them an amount I could pay and the guy told me no and that I had to pay a higher amount. I started contacting them on my own and asking for more information to be verified, but they keep giving me the run around. I need this collection off of my account because I don't know what this collection is and I cannot get any information from the company no matter how many times I call about it and it is getting frustrating. This account is the only derogatory account I have and it is messing me up from getting a house this year. I do not know what else to do or who else to contact. This company is not helpful at all.

Jefferson Capital Systems LLC put a notice on my credit report when I did not receive any letter from them. It is for a debt I DO NOT owe. It has been paid in full. So now my credit report is wrong. They need to contact people by mail and not just mess up someones credit. Would like it taken off and they send me a notice in mail for what they think I owe.

I recently checked my credit reports and found a collection account from Jefferson Capital Systems. They are reporting the account without ever contacting me by phone or mail, which is a FDCPA violation.

Jefferson capital continues to call me everyday harassing me about a debt that I have been trying to settle but a different amount then they would like. At this time with the COVID 19 I am unable to do that amount. There asking for personal information about my working and finances back which I am not willing to discuss...just to resolve the the debt. They are really out of line!

Customer Response • Jun 29, 2020

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:these dates they are referring too is in June. I reached to Jefferson Capital myself as I had settled another debt back in April and May time frame to settle. I did not request payments at all being that I did not want to agree to payments if I was not employed. So a settlement at the time was 4K which *** told me that may can get closer to 5K to settle. But iN the mean time they were harrassing me from the Law Department to make arrangements which would be common sense at this time with COVID 19. Jefferson capital has a history of reviews that shows how they are with clients. They were calling me atleast 3 times a day and sometimes would not even say anything.

I am looking to possible settle this account for less than 7K at this time or I will relook this account after I am back from COVID 19.

Sincerely

I am not liable for the debt with 12 Verizon Wireless. I do not have a contract with Jefferson Capital System. They are on my Credit twice with reaging it as well with two different account numbers.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

I received a letter in the mail about a debt that was due. I called the agency immediately and asked them to validate this debt that was due. I received a letter on April 10th, 2020. I sent a certified letter on April 15th, 2020. I never received my debt validation and this organization placed the debt on my credit report. This is a direct violation of the Fair Debt Collection Act. I also called the company asked to validate the debt where they tried to get me to settle and I informed them that I was not acknowledging this debt and that I would like for them to validate it. Nothing has been sent to me since that day. Yet, this debt was placed for collection on my credit report. I am demanding that this debt is removed from my credit report. I will consider any contact not in
accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Act, a serious violation of the law & will immediately report any violations to my State Attorney General, Revdex.com, Federal Trade Commission, & the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau should it become necessary to take legal action to protect myself.

This collection agency has illegally re-aged an old debt that is out of it's statute of limitations. This account was originally opened in 2012 but this collection agency re-aged it to say that it was opened on July 23rd, 2019. This agency must be held accountable for breaking the FDCPA.

In June 2019, a collection was added to my account from Jefferson Capital Systems for $434. The only reference number I have is *** from my credit report, I have never received a letter or call. I have attempted to dispute several times because I have no knowledge of this debt. I was not given notice that the collection was being added to my credit reports, which is a FDCPA violation. I am requesting the following information: 1. Full original Account Number 2. Date original Account was opened 3. Any written agreements between myself and the original creditor stating this debt is owed 4. Full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt 5. Date of the first delinquency 6. Dates and times of any phone calls made and to what number in attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to an agency, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by FDCPA law. I also was not given the 30 day period to respond before the collection was added, which is a right guaranteed to me by law. If the above mentioned information cannot be verified, your collection must be deleted from all 3 credit reporting agencies. Thank you.

Jefferson Capital Systems LLC added a collection to my credit reports without my knowledge! I’ve also been searching online and can't verify their registration in the state of Texas. BOTH are FDCPA violations!

Jefferson Capital put a collection account on my credit reports without my knowledge and in doing so, this violated the FDCPA Collection Practice by placing a collection account on my credit report without sending a letter to me. Also, there is NO verification from the TX Secretary of State that they are registered in Texas which is also against the FDCPA!

I request that Jefferson Capitol verify the following information.

Thank you for your time and I appreciate your help. Thank you and have a great day!

first off I have no binding contract with this collections agency that keeps reporting negative items on my credit report, they also filed to contact me five days before they sent notices of the debt to home. they also never identified who the original creditor is and the debt owed. they never provided me with options to dispute any claims towards me. they've also filed to provide my signature indicating me to debt.

This company has contacted me several times concerning an "outstanding" debt that each time they contact me the dollar amount changes as to what I exactly owe. When I ask for information to be sent to me concerning this debt for me investigate and then I can resolve by paying or providing proof this is not my debt I have yet to receive anything. Their customer service is very abrasive and not helpful at all.

My credit report now shows derogatory actions for a debt they could NOT and REFUSED to verify. This needs to be fixed.
