To Whom It May Concern,

First of all, let me say how sad I am that we will not have the opportunity to work with these clients.  We struggled constantly with their schedule problems and payment issues.  When signed her daughter  in August 2013 and graduated her in January...

2014.  They had to make a double payment just so that she could graduate as the account was delinquent at that time.  We did everything humanly possible to keep them current with their payments but the account went delinquent after graduation.  If an account is delinquent more than three months they are turned over to a collection agency and that is exactly what happened.  Sam spoke with her mother many times as you will see when you review the documentation, trying everything to stop this from happening.

They are in collections.  If she paid off the collection company (564.00), she would owe approximately 400.00 to reinstate her contract with us.    They take a big percentage over 30%, which means we have not received our full tuition.  We did our job, we have documentation that she enjoyed her classes- and graduated.  Because of the skills she has from her classes- she could go to any agency and work.  Her mother stated that is what she wants to do.  She wants that, but was not willing to pay for the services that she received.  She has avoided her obligation for tuition.

I would like the opportunity to represent her daughter.  She is the one that has been hurt by this.  She is a beautiful young lady and worked very hard to overcome her shyness.

Please let me know what documentation you need.  I have enrollment agreements, contracts, documentation of all collection calls, email communications, etc.   I will just go ahead and fax it all to you.

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Deborah Cameron  Director

A full credit of $2250 was processed to Ms. [redacted]' Visa ending in 9304 on 12/8/15.  Ms. [redacted] should check her credit card statement for the credit.Unless we hear further from your office, we will consider this matter closed.Sincerely,[redacted]President

We contacted the company we used for billing and collection,
[redacted], and learned that they have previously
responded to this complaint (Case ID [redacted] Revdex.com serving
Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois).
A copy of their response...

is attached.
We have nothing further to add to their response, except for the fact we
believe the time period may have expired for their offer to settle the matter
for $400 and sign a Mutual Settlement and Release document.  You would need to check with them to learn if
that offer is still available.
Otherwise, we stand behind their response as accurate and more than
reasonable.Sincerely,[redacted]President

We received your letter concerning Mr. [redacted].  Mr. [redacted] signed a contract that clearly states on the front, in the largest type on the page, what he needs to do to cancel the contract.  Mr. [redacted] has never canceled his contract and prior to this email, we have had no correspondence...

with Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] has not received a single letter from our office, nor has he been assessed a “fine”.  We do not even have a method of assigning a “fine” to someone, nor have we written him, so are not sure to what he is referring.  Based on this letter, we will consider this notice of his desire to cancel his contract and he will not be eligible to return.  We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and giving us the opportunity to assist Mr. [redacted].  Sincerely, [redacted]President

The (SOP) for MTM agency is to send professional photographs to their website where Tim the "agent" will call and tell the talent to come in for a free photoshoot and audition, dressed to impress. Tim, someone who isn't a professional photographer will take five snapshots of the individual in front of a room full of people auditioning simultaneously. After learning the history of the company and spending an hour and a half there listening to him talk about show business and movie stars, he will then give talent a piece of paper saying to come back for a second audition to meet with Janet who will ultimately decide if the person is ready to be signed. Janet will send talent a text message requesting the person to arrive 15 minutes early. When subject arrives early, then has to wait until after scheduled time by the agency, to then meet up with Tim aka the salesman. The person Janet hired to do her dirty work. The second audition is just a way to get talent back into the door where they sit down and get the sales pitch. The agency categorizes talent on an ABC structure. A-already signed with agency. B- no professional experience but strong desire. C- applicants who they believe they cannot benefit from their services.

The agency makes money two ways, through the talent who has paid their company or someone else for training, already marketed in the industry, who will provide agency with 20 percent of their profits or through training talent directly. The process is pretty simple due to the application process online, however it's just a scheme to make the agency money and fill Janet's pockets so she can display [redacted] bags on her desk while pretending to be busy.

In the Janet's world it doesn't matter how pretty you are, who took your pictures, or the time it took to audition on two different occasions. She will still avoid looking you in the eyes and put Tim up for the job to tell you, that if you believed in yourself you would pay their company to train you so you are up to their standards.

If an individual doesn't have what it takes I get it, but they have no right to play with people's emotions or break them down. They have no right to attack someone's work, their passion. It takes courage to even apply for an agency and the arrogants of their company is highly insulting. The only reason I spoke to Janet personally is because I walked in her office myself and told her how this process is wrong. They are not there to help, they are there to judge. Janet's nose is so far up in the air she can't even look you in the eyes unless you approach her yourself. After looking through my professional photographs she said they were selfies.

I understand, either a person has it or they don't, but in no way does that give Janet's agency the power to make people feel less than or inadequate. Tim has no right to play with people's emotions by requesting a second audition to then tell them they didn't make it, not even a minute after sitting down in his office. Time is important in this world. The time it took me to drive down to their agency to be ridiculed by two different individuals, could of been used to pursue other agencies who actually believe in people, not money.

John Casablancas is a place to be trained, not a modeling agency. I feel as they run their business under John Casablancas for credentials, even though it's MTM agency.

Misrepresented a audition and callback for modeling/acting opportunies for my child Charged my Debit card $370.00 without my authorization Business represenative contacted me to schedule and audition for modeling opportunities for my 10 yr old daughter. Set-up audition for Friday, 08/08/2014 at 7:00 pm at Cary location. My daughter was told she mad the cut after the audition and we were told that we had to return the next day to discuss modeling opportunies for my daughter. We returned at 3:20 pm on Saturday, 08/09/2014 and met with [redacted] Senior Admissions Represenative. She told us we had to enroll my daughter in thier Pre-teen modeling and acting training classes in order for her to audition for modeling/acting opportunities. The cost for the 7 month program is $2,280.00 and she must complete 10 weeks of training before she can be offered any modeling and acting opportunities. The whole meeting was a set-up! I thought I was going to talk about a modeling or acting job for my daughter based on the audition and we were not told any money would need to be paid upfront at the audition. We were not told we would have to enroll in classes to be considered of modeling and acting opportunities and we were not told any money would need to be paid. On Saturday when we met with [redacted] I told her that I was not prepared to pay anything that day as I was not told that was a requirement for my daughter to obtain modeling and acting opportunities through John Casablancas. She showed my several payment options and I told her I could not afford to pay any of them. She asked me how much could I pay on that day to hold my daughter's spot in the class and told me if I did not pay something on that day, my daugther would loose her spot and have to audition again. I told her to wait while I checked my Bank Account via my iPhone to confirm what I could pay. I told her I could pay $200.00 on that day 08/09/2014 and I could pay the remaining $170.00 on my next payday on 08/15/2014. She agreed to these amounts and told me they would hold her spot. She then took my Debit card out of the room and while she was gone I checked my Bank Account with the Wells Fargo banking app. and to my surprise, she charged my card the full $370.00. When she walked back into the room, I said, "you just charged my card the full $370.00 and I did not authorize that amount!" She then apologized and walked out of the room again then cam back to tell me, I would have to wait until the Corporate Office opened on Monday morning to get my money back and then it could take 7-10 days. I told her that was unacceptable and I could not afford to be without the money that long. She then walked out of the roon again to "check with [redacted]" and came back and advised me she will contact me 1st thing on Monday morning at 9:00am and the Corporate Office will refund my money on Monday, 08/11/2014. It is now 10:09 am on Monday, 08/11/2014 and I have already called and left a voice message fro [redacted] but not one has contacted me from John Casablancas and no money has been returned to my acocunt. From the voice message when you call John Casablancas at XXX-XXX-XXXX, the office does not open until 2:30 pm today but I was told they would contact me at 9:00 am today. Also, the contract that I signed on Satruday, 08/09/2014 can only be cancelled in writting by certified of registered mail within 3 calendar days of signing. Obviously if we signed on Saturday afternoon, I could not have a certified letter delivered on Sunday. They are only open Mon-Thurs. from 2:30pm-9:30 pm based on the telephone greeting so that leaves me limited opportunity to get a certified letter delivered and signed for at John Casablancas. When I look back on the whole experience, we were mislead and manipulated by John Casablancas. The whole audition and "callback" was a scam to get us to enroll in training and pay money. Also, the audition and callback were scheduled on the weekend to allow limited time for cancellation of the contract. I am very concerned and upset about the finacial transaction and how we were manipulated and mislead.Desired SettlementFull refund on all charges to my Debit card and immediate cancellation of the contract signed on 08/09/2014.Business Response /[redacted]/We received the letter from your office concerning Ms. [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] did come to our office and agreed for us to charge her card for $200. When the person she spoke to ran the card, she accidentally ran it for $370. Ms. [redacted] notified her of the mistake and it was agreed it would be corrected on Monday when the Accounting Office was open. No one from Accounting is available to run credit on Saturday. Monday morning, as promised, the Director contacted Ms. [redacted] in order to get the full credit card number and have the credit issued. The full credit card number is not stored in the local office for security reasons. Ms. [redacted] refused to give the credit card number to the Director and proceeded to speak to her in a loud and unprofessional manner. After repeated attempts to help Ms. [redacted], Ms. [redacted] finally said she had disputed the charge with her credit card company and was canceling the contract, which she did. The Director apologized again for the confusion and Ms. [redacted] hung up on her. Again, we sincerely apologize for the mistake of running the credit card for the wrong amount. The employee has written a statement taking full responsibility for her mistake. She has been a valuable and trusted employee for almost 10 years and made an honest mistake. We apologize for any inconvenience our mistake may have caused Ms. [redacted]. Sincerely,[redacted]Member Consumer Response /[redacted]/The contract has been cancelled by me in writing and I did open an investigation with my Bank to dispute the unauthorized $370.00 charge to my debit card by John Casablancas. Since no one from John Casablancas Modeling & Career Center contacted me on Monday morning at 9:00 am, as promised by [redacted] with John Casablancas Modeling & Career Center, I took matters into my own hands to ensure no further charges to my account from John Casablancas Modeling & Career Center and to protect myself from further fraud. I did cancel the contract as I am not interested in conducting any future business with John Casablancas Modeling & Career Center. They do not conduct business with integrity and transparency to the customer. I noticed the response from John Casablancas Modeling & Career Center did not include a response regarding how they conducted the entire fake audition and call back! If they were a reputable Modeling Agency they would be up front about the costs involved and not present themselves as a Talent Agency when they are simply a school. If they would be up front and honest and explain the benefits of formal training in modeling and acting instead of lying to perspective customers and presenting it as an audition and callback: I would not have been so upset. They intentionally mislead potential talent and try to pressure them to pay money on the spot. The way they conduct business is a disgrace to other REAL Talent Management Firms. The part that hurts the most is the disappointment for my 10 year old daughter. She is very talented and excited about possible opportunities to model and act. I made this incident with JC a teachable moment for her on the type of Company and people you do NOT want to be involved with or associated with for any reason. She now understands the importance of integrity and professionalism in business. I am glad my Bank was able to correct the unauthorized charges to my debit card and I cancelled the contract. Thank the Lord for letting me experience this issue before getting locked into a contract with this terrible Company. I pray my complaint will help others to avoid John Casablancas Modeling & Career Center. ThanksFinal Business Response /[redacted]/We received Ms. [redacted] response to our letter and once again apologize for the mistake on the incorrect charge to her credit card. We made an honest mistake and it was corrected very quickly by her actions. Regarding her opinion of our company, we are sorry Ms. [redacted] has a negative opinion of our company. We truly wish everyone we come in contact with has a positive experience, but understand that when we are dealing with human beings, that is impossible. Although we attempt to avoid it, we will make mistakes, as will others. We try our best to take care of our customers and potential customers and obviously failed with Ms. [redacted]. For that we apologize. Sincerely,[redacted]MemberFinal Consumer Response /[redacted]/(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I have already resolved the issues on my own! No furter contact or communication is wanted or needed from John Casablancas.

My husband and I never signed a formal CONTRACT as promised. & now were in Collection were been bill $483.41 for services our daughter did notattendedOur daughter received a phoned called from John Casablancas-(Cary,NC) for an evaluation on XX-XX-XX which my husband, daughter and myself went to learn about the company and what they had to offer. We were in a room full of people, and after the Runaway appearance we were told how fortunate our daughter was since she was chosen. And then we were asked to come back the next day XX-XX-XX to finish up, when we got there we met with an employee name [redacted] she took us into her office - she began talking all good telling us how our daughter is going to be so successful model, actor once she completes her training and signed a contract when a client want her to go do a job - she began talking about the company is like she was selling us a car from a dealership she really brainwashed my daugther mind got her so excited. Once she did that she brek down the prices different options program they have we must make up our mind because training will start 03/22/14 she left us in her office so we can make up our mind. We were not ready to do any kind of commitment we were only there to learn about the company, the options she showed us was to pay $370.00 which is due at signing for (registration and books and supplies) and 30 payments of $67.00 dollars per-week,but we had to pay the same day so they can hold a space for our daughter. Mrs [redacted] came back into her office we told her were not ready to do any commitment at the moment and we asked her when will the next training she said why wait is like we did not had the chance to think about it we needed to make our decision immediately is like she knew if we had walkedout to go home we were never coming back we should done that, we told her if we put down $170 & next week $200 she stated ok we also told her we do not want to sign anything no COTRACT until were sure this is the school our daughter wants to do her training, she promised us that on 03/22/14 once our daughter starts her training we will sit down and sign a formal a true contract but since were putting $170 they have to have it in writting she gave us a paper look like a contract which only me signed just showing that we paid $170. Anyway 03/22/14 came and Mrs.[redacted] never sat down with us we asked for her left messages on her voicemail and she was never available and never answered our call we never saw her again we felt betrayed stupid lied to. Then we went online onto the internet pulled up John Casablancas and saw all the complain where they was ripping people off just like us session#9 was the last that our daughter attended but it was to late because we paid up $638 without even doing a true contract. We wrote (JC)we expressed how we felt about the company, and that our daughter will not be coming back and the $638 dollars we paid for showing our daughter how to comb her hair and put makeup on is payment in full. Then we received a letter from (NATIONAL EDUCATION ACCEPTANCE CORP.)showing a balance of $483.41 owing,we called this company many of times no one pickup only a Voicemail which we did not left any messages due to Fraud/Scam Alert, (we also filed a complain with NEA Company) .Were asking (JC) to take $638 as payment in full because a Formal CONTRACT was not DONE as Promised . ACCOUNT#XXXXXXXXX - Thank You.Desired SettlementWere asking that John Casablancas take the $638.00 as payment in full. Because we did not sign a proper cotract as promised this is not professional, we were lied to, and now our daughter is so Terrifed in seeking other Modeling School due to this experiece. Were not asking for our money back, were asking to take it as payment in full and to contact National Educational Acceptance Corp. (NEA) - we believe this is a Collections Agency for (JC) - We do not want this to go on our Credit Report.Business Response /[redacted]/We are in receipt of the correspondence from Ms. [redacted] regarding her daughter's enrollment at our Center. We are at a loss as to how to respond, since Ms. [redacted] is simply stating she does not want to pay for the classes her daughter attended. Ms. [redacted] does state her daughter was taught how to comb her hair and put on makeup. We have enclosed the critiques her daughter completed at the conclusion of each class to demonstrate her daughter not only learned those things, but she learned more and obviously truly enjoyed her classes.Ms. [redacted] also states she didn't sign a "true contract". We are not sure what that means, but if she is implying that the contract is not valid based on her belief it was not a "true contract", we are at a loss as to why she made over $600 in payments. It seems the contract was "true" until Ms. [redacted] decided it wasn't and then she does not want to live up to the terms of the contract. As far as her daughter being "brainwashed", Ms. [redacted] was there with her daughter for every meeting. If she felt her daughter was being subjected to "brain washing", why would she have come back almost one month later to start classes? Ms. [redacted] has made it clear she is attempting to use the Revdex.com to absolve her of a collection matter. It is our desire that our customers are satisfied with the services they receive and obviously, as can be seen by the critiques, her daughter was very satisfied. In an effort to resolve this situation in a timely and amicable manner, we will write off the money Ms. [redacted] owes us and inform the collection agency to let Ms. [redacted] out of her debt. Sincerely,[redacted]Member P. S. We were unable to download the critiques referenced in this letter.

THEY REALLY IS A SCAM!!! JOHN CASABLANASI am a single parent who allowed my daughter [redacted] to attend John Casablancas Model paid $2500 for the class..Instructors always late plus fail to teach them anything about modeling. EVERYONE IN HER SESSION DROP OUT EXCEPT HER & ANOTHER STUDENT.She was on time and never late. My daughter was very willing&postive until 9/04/13 the staff called & wanted her to started completely over because no one was attending her session. She was emotionally hurt.THIS WASNT OUR FAULT!They RECEIVE MY hard earned money but didnt finish her sessions.which ends in January.Very unprofessional business...please help other parents to not make the same mistake.Desired SettlementI havent received a settlement Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], Corp. OMContact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]We thank **. [redacted] for taking the time to contact us concerning her daughter, [redacted]. We are sorry there was a problem with the enrollment. She states we "failed to teach her daughter anything about modeling". We have enclosed the critiques completed by her daughter that clearly state she not only was learning, but she raves about the instructors and her classes. We realize that she was contacted about having her daughter's class combined with another class, so as to help in the training process. It is our experience that if there are more people in the class, some of the sessions are more productive. The offer to move was optional, not mandatory. When some of the classes overlapped with the classes [redacted] had already taken, she was offered the chance to retake them, free of charge, if she so desired, or simply wait until the two classes were in sync. There was never any mention of "starting over". We are not sure what caused this confusion, but we are more than willing to have [redacted] continue with her original time and date of class, as was originally scheduled. As she may have read on the back of the contract, we do reserve the right to change the schedule, but in this case, we will make an exception. Please let us know if she would like to continue with the original time or move to another. If her desire is to do neither, we suggest she withdraw from the program per the terms of your contract and the appropriate financial adjustment will be made, based on the number of classes attended. We checked with the school and everyone would be really disappointed to see [redacted] leave the program. We have been informed she is a delight to have in the classes. Again, we apologize for any confusion that may have been caused in attempting to move her daughter's class. Sincerely,[redacted]PresidentFinal Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)My daughter [redacted] attended her returning sessions on Sept.28,2013@12:30-2:30.She was very upset. She was in the classroom with younger kids who the instructor([redacted]) asked her to show them the basics of modeling. She is there to learn herself not to be an instructor. She was very upset and complained the program was very unorganized. She did return with her original time and dates. As long as John Casablancas remains productive & professional I([redacted]) have no reason to withdraw her from the class or take further action. Final Business Response We have received the response from **. [redacted] and are confused; however, we believe she is stating she is going to continue with her daughter's program, but wanted to make you aware of her most recent class. Demonstrations are a common educational tool used in elementary, high school and college. We will contact the Center and request [redacted] not be asked to demonstrate again. We hope we understood this correctly and are pleased we were able to resolve **. [redacted] concerns. Sincerely,[redacted]President

My complaint is that the company is a scam. They took money from me that I did not authorize. This company came to a hotel in little rock, ar. They selected my son for the modeling school. WE were coming faithfully. One time he had to miss. I called the school as in strutted to reschedule. I left my name and my number. They never ever called my back. I received an email saying he missed. I called again left message as they never answer and never return my call back. I never received anything. The next thing I know there was an[redacted] company taking out money out of my account. They forwarded my credit card to someone. I did not authorize that. I want all of my money back from whoever this[redacted] company is and I want the 100.00 back from [redacted] This is a scam of a school. Nothing learned just taking money.Desired SettlementI am seeking a refund for every thing I paid to them. I want the 200.00 something dollars I put up front and the 100.00 I paid for every visit and I want the 93.00 that was taken from me from this [redacted] company.Business Response We have received the correspondence from Ms. [redacted] concerning her payments for the classes attended. Ms. [redacted] explicitly claims she did not authorize [redacted] to take payments from her account, along with other potentially actionable statements. Attached please find Ms. [redacted] signed authorization on February 7, 2014 for her credit card to be charged, where she included the card number, expiration date, her name, address and signature. We have blacked out all but the last 4 digits of the credit card number, for security reasons. We are not sure how she can make such a claim in light of the enclosed documentation. We certainly question the veracity of Ms. [redacted] claims based on the above, but would be happy to reschedule the missed classes, upon her successfully paying all fees due for classes. We shall consider this matter closed unless we hear further from your office. Sincerely,[redacted]PresidentConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)No I do not accept the response. No where do I remember signing that if we stopped coming they would take 93.00 out of my account. I believe it should be null and void and my money returned because my calls were never returned when I tried to do things the right way when I called to reschedule the very first class. You do not continue to take money and we are not attending the school. That is my claim. I could see if I did not call and try to reschedule but I did. Several times. I didn't even see that was the name of the company when I signed. I do not wish for another dime to be taken or try to be taken from me. It clearly says to call if you miss class and I did never ever received a call back. This place is a scam and I am not the only ones that have filed complaints. I do not want another dime taken from me. That is my complaint. When I tried to reschedule you didn't return my calls so contract is over.Final Business Response Ms. [redacted] has responded with the same statements from the previous correspondence. She once again states she doesn't remember signing the form that we enclosed. We do not know how to respond to the fact that Ms. [redacted] "doesn't remember", when we have sent the signed contract.Regarding her phone calls, we apologize if they did not answer or were not returned. Our office was open the same hours as it has been for over 20 years and we reschedule classes every day. In an effort to resolve this situation, we will discontinue any further payments due, per Ms. [redacted]' request, and consider this matter closed. Sincerely,[redacted]President

They are trying to collect on a contract that was canceled.I entered a contract with [redacted] for acting lessons for my son. After the first lesson, we realized that there would be no acting lessons, only modeling. We then decided to cancel the contract. The method for cancellation specified was to send a letter by certified mail within three days of the date of the contract. I mailed the letter within the time specified and have the receipt from the post office to prove it.[redacted] refused delivery three times according to the notes left on the envelope by the postal service representative. They then attempted to place charges on my credit card. When I notified the credit card company of the situation and provided them with documentation, they reversed the charges. However, [redacted] attempted to collect again.[redacted] will not return telephone calls and will not reply to emails.Their collection practices are dishonest.Desired SettlementI am not seeking any type of refund. I have no problem letting them keep my deposit and the money for the first lesson, which my son attended. I only want them to discontinue trying to make further collections.Business Response We apologize for the delay in responding. We did not receive the first notification in January. We have checked with the Memphis office and we have no record of unanswered calls to Mr. [redacted]. The withdrawal letter from Mr. [redacted] was postmarked 10/17/13. The balance owing for the class attended by [redacted], after all of the credit card chargebacks, is $192.46. In the interest of customer goodwill, we will agree to notify the finance company to write off the balance on Mr. [redacted]'s account.Unless we hear further from your office, we will consider this matter closed.Sincerely,[redacted]President Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)They purposefully refused delivery three times of a letter sent by certified mail. In the contract, they specified that in order to cancel a contract, the only acceptable means was by certified mail.By stating a single method by which the contract could be canceled and then obstructing that method through refusal of delivery, John Casablancas was engaging in underhanded practices. In addition, after I had provided proof to the credit card company that no further charges should be made, and the proof was accepted by the company, John Casablancas still tried to collect. They have no claim and they know it. For them to say that they are voluntarily waiving any further charges is insulting and I do not accept their response.Final Business Response As stated in our previous correspondence, the balance owing on Mr. [redacted]'s account is zero.In the interest of concluding this situation, we apologize to Mr. [redacted] for any misunderstandings and never intended to insult to Mr. [redacted]. Unless we hear further from your office, we will consider this matter closed.Sincerely,[redacted]President

Response:

We received your letter concerning Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] signed a contract that clearly states on the front, in the largest type on the page, what he needs to do to cancel the contract. Mr. [redacted] has never canceled his contract and prior to this email, we have had no correspondence with Mr. [redacted].
