We have spoken to Equifax and they will not remove the credit pull.  John K[redacted], President called the customer and left a voice mail, explaining the situation.

We want you to know we did in fact have a $25,000.00 winner at this Wal-Mart location and we are very excited along with the winner. I can assure you that the winner in no way felt this mailer was false advertising or deceiving in any way. Again we apologize if you felt the mailer was deceiving. The purchase price of the vehicle was $17,554, less a manufacturer rebate of $1,750, for a total purchase price of $15,804.  Ms. [redacted] "proxy," Lazlo, was on site and inspected the vehicle.  As agreed, we sent all the respective DMV, licensing and taxes to the customer's closest DMV...

office.  It was the customer's responsibility to take the vehicle to her local licensing agency to complete the process.

I am rejecting this response because:Regardless of the fact that John K[redacted] and David Y[redacted] have tried to explain that a hard credit hit is not that big of a deal....it is.  I will not fault Equifax for not providing a remedy to an issue they did not cause.  Credit is the basis of everything and mine has been altered for the next 2 years by Kiefer Nissan without my authorization.

I am rejecting this response because: No attempt was made to make any finance options known to us whether applicable or not. Instead however our credit union received a response on our behalf from Kia, unknown to us, declining their offer. It was known at the start of our car buying experience that we would like to finance through the same credit union. The offers from the credit unions became known to us only after purchasing the vehicle. Kia knowingly neglected to inform us of our options. When working with one of the credit unions we were able to refinance despite the excess additional costs associated with it as well as the refused help on Kia’s part to provide the purchase invoice.
