Review: In early May my fiancee and I hired this service to mow my elderly parents front lawn. The lawn is small (25' x 50') and has 2 small hills. My father is 84 and it is just too difficult for him to mow. Their website (justmowinginc.com)advertises a price of $18 when using a commercial mower and $23 for hand mowing for an area less than .17 acres. When I called to hire the service I made it clear the lawn needed to be hand mowed because of the hills. My parents witnessed the company using a commercial mower on the lawn. The workmanship of the mowing was deplorable. We have pictures of the lawn after the work was done to show that some areas were not cut and others were shaved down to the dirt. I immediately called and cancelled the service explaining why. The woman I spoke to was a bit rude and said we would be billed for $25 for cutting the lawn. I told her what their website said as well as the wrong mower being used. She did not believe me and brushed me off. She said she would have to look into it and have some one call us. I never received a phone call back from them and tried to contact them with no response. On July 19th I received a bill for $53. $26.50 for mowing the lawn and $26.50 for cancelling the service. At the time I was willing to pay the $25 mowing fee just to be done with this even though that was not what was advertised but $53 is just an outrage.Desired Settlement: The lawn had to be recut and had to be reseeded. We will cover the cost to repair the lawn if the bill is cancelled. Otherwise we will have to charge them for the repair and recutting of the lawn.

Review: I made a verbal agreement with Just Plowing on 1/2/16 over the phone for plowing services for a property that we own and live in at [redacted].

I purposefully chose a local, eastside business to give our business to.

Just Plowing mailed a paper contract on 1/5/16. I received the contract on 1/7/16 and put it in the mail signed on 1/8/16.

I received a phone call on 1/18/16 from Just Plowing's office manager asking me to submit the signed contract or plowing services would end. I told her I made a copy of the signed contract and already submitted the forms. I took photos of my files and emailed them to her.

She received the emailed photos and verbally confirmed that she found the signed paper contract.

During our first plow on 1/11/16, I introduced myself to the driver, Jacob. We spoke once more while I was leaving to drop my son off at preschool on 1/13/16. Without prompting, Jacob was apologetic for not plowing earlier, but had gone to help his grandmother out in the [redacted] area. I understood and had no complaints.

One other time as the snow was piling up and Jacob was running out of places to push the snow, I approached his truck and told him he could push the snow under out basketball hoop. He obliged for the remainder of services.

I am a stay-at-home mom and was present for each of the thirteen (13) plows during January and February. I kept tally marks on our calendar and dates plowed on my Notes app on my iPone. When I would leave the house for school drop offs and pick ups, it was obvious that no one had plowed in the 20-30 minutes I had been gone.

On March 7, 2016, I received the only bill of the plowing season in the mail. It was a busy day and my husband opened the bill the next day on March 8, 2016.

To our surprise, the bill was 43% higher than expected. Instead of $286 for 13 plows, we were being billed $506 for 23 plows.

During the plow season, we were plowed twice in one day on 1/18/16, yet on our bill, there were seven days that claimed plowing services two, three and even four times in one day. Those plows simply did not occur.

I called Just Plowing on March 8, 2016, left a message, then emailed the company per their voice mail greeting since they make it clear that email is the best way to contact the company. In my email, I relayed the major discrepancy in the number of plows received versus the number of plows charged in the bill sent to me. I expressed that I would like to pay my bill, but I request a rectified bill for 13 plows at $22 per plow, totaling $286.

Mr. N[redacted] wrote in one email, "I reviewed your account and I was able to remove these charges from your

account because either we don't have enough documentation or I read the

drivers notes wrong as to if he plowed it or not, or I had applied the plow

to the wrong address."

He reduced my bill from 23 plows to 17 plows.

My records are complete and accurate, and he admitted in his email that his records are not accurate.

I did not receive 17 plows. I received 13 plows.

I requested an accurate bill reflecting 13 plows at $22 totaling $286 again on March 10, 2016.

I received a reply email from Mr. N[redacted] saying, "I didn't' admit any kind of lack of documentation, I have reviewed your

account and adjusted your bill according to what our records show. I

emailed you the adjusted bill. We are confident in this bill . thanks"

At this point, I feel we are at a stalemate.Desired Settlement: I would like Just Plowing to send me a corrected bill for the following thirteen (13) plows/dates instead of the inaccurate seventeen (17) plows totaling $374.

Our driveway was plowed only once on:

1/11/16

1/12/16

1/13/16

1/14/16

1/17/16

1/19/16

1/21/16

1/25/16

2/10/16

2/12/16

2/16/16

Twice on 1/18/16

13 plows X $22 per plow = $286 total price for plowing

Review: Back in November of 2014 I contacted Just Mowing/Just Plowing to plow for me during the winter. They had me sign a contract that spelled out their terms and conditions which I was fine with. They showed up once, possibly twice in November. Since the time they plowed in November they haven't shown up since and we've had plenty of snow in December and early January 2015. I've been shoveling the driveway. I tried emailing the contract to them again on January 8th 2015 and didn't get a response until five days later. During those five days I contacted someone else to do the plowing. Now I get a bill saying that they plowed NINE times which is a complete lie. They also want a $48 contract cancellation fee. Which they will not get along with the $12 for the nine times they claim they did my driveway. They violated the terms of the contract not me. Why would I pay for a service that I didn't receive and a contract cancellation when they broke the terms of the contract? It's seems like it's some type of scam they have going. Force you to sign a contract believing if you do so you'll receive product then you don't get the product and they try and charge you a cancellation fee. I've saved every (6) email that they've sent me and the ones I sent back.Desired Settlement: I just want them to quit emailing me and billing me for services not rendered. It's that simple.

Responding to my customers complaint. Here are the facts The customer signed and returned the contract on 12/1, he had contacted us on 11/14 for a quote on 11/15 we left a VM with our price and the customer signed up with a verbal contract. As per our verbal conversation the customer was added to our route list and a contract would be mailed within the few weeks. The contract was mailed 11/27. The customer emailed the contract back on 12/1. That was the first email we received from the customer, and first correspondence since 11/15. We scanned the contract into our system on 12/1. We never heard another word from the customer until 1/8 when the customer sent this email? With the contract attached, this was our 2nd email from the customer. No mention of poor service or no service being performed? From: [redacted] [mailto:[redacted]] Sent: Thursday, January 8, 2015 2:06 PM To: [redacted] Plowing contract I’m not sure if you received the attached signed plowing contract that I that I emailed in 12/1/2014. Please confirm that you received this. Thanks [redacted] Because we had the contract and we were in the middle of a big storm we didn’t’ respond back to the customer until 1/13 after the storm. Saying we had it. At this point the customer sent his third email back to us saying I found someone else. When I asked the customer to verify his address his response was why? He wouldn’t even provide his address to review the account? Never once did an email complain about a lack of plowing or bad service. The contract the customer has Lists our office number, my cell phone and a plow hotline number in addition to our email address all on the top of the page!! The customer had plenty of opportunities to call us or email us , when a customer is missed we send out a truck immediately and fix the problem. But we had no problem reported, the customer went almost 2 month without complaining? Our contract has a cancelation clause and it the customer initialed below the cancelation section as you see in the attachment. The customer agrees to give us 14 days written notice and then pay 4 plow penalty. It is very expensive to line up plow driver and plow routes and we hire drivers based on the contracts we sign. So we can’t have people signing up in October and Nov and then cancel when they find someone cheaper or do it themselves. We agree to plow for the season for said price and they agree to pay a fee if they cancel. That is what the customer agreed to. We also provide our customers with three phone numbers and an email to contact us. This customer choose not to contact to us to report a problem and then just hire someone else and somehow feels they don’t owe for the plows we did and the cancellation fee which is very black and white. In my emails from the customer he said we plowed 1 time, and that was it and he would pay me for once. On his complaint to BB he says we plowed once maybe twice? So what is it? Once or twice? We would have worked with the customer on plow dates but he wouldn’t even give us his address at one point, so it is hard to work with someone that is that difficult. Response:

Like I said, I did contact them when I resent the contract and didn't receive a response for five days after I had six inches of snow in my driveway and I had to get someone else to do it. Secondly the attachment/contract has my address on it, why would they need ask for my address? Yet he doesn't mention the other eight times he's trying to bill me for that he didn't plow. If anyone was being difficult it was him. He's running a scam. He said he would look into whether or not they actually did my driveway and get back to me. Yet two weeks later he never got back to me. Bottom line, I already spoke to lawyer and he said they voided the contract so no big deal. If he wants his $12 for the time he actually did plow he can send me updated invoice and I'll pay for the service he did (not claimed he did).

Response:

The bottom line is the customer had a contract and to cancel the contract it is a 4 plow penalty. The customer also said in his first complaint we had been their maybe two times, now in his last complaint he is only offering to pay for one of those times. In order to resolve this dispute we will agree to waive any contract cancelation fees along with additional plows that we did if the customer pays us for the 2 plows that they acknowledged we did. If the customers pays for two plows we will remove all other charges on this account [redacted]ManagerJust Mowing Inc
