Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.The total cost was build plus cost, as he said, but it was all paid in the draws outlined in the contract He received all of his money due to him in the draws, plus we ended up paying much more out of pocket than was in the contract On the walk through, which serves as a second contract for this build, he takes responsibility for finishing our final grade, burying our sump pump lines, cracks in the concrete, and the missing side splash I will also add that in his cost breakdown you can see where we paid $1,for a culvert below our driveway that was never completed Therefore per both contracts, he owes us for all of the items previously mentioned We have had multiple estimates now and have been told by multiple professionals that the outside work was all subpar and is going to require a lot to fix it The newest estimate we received for the final grade and culvert is going to be about $10,because the original people screwed it all up so bad This estimate is from another professional, custom home builder In regards to the concrete, I put our last initial in it right after is was poured, the cracks clearly came at a later time and we were nowhere near it Dave was actually the person to point the first crack out, take pictures and tell us that they needed to have it fixed Clearly these were done by contractors, there were MANY contractors around after the pour, so I'm not sure why they are saying there weren't I actually have pictures that I took every day and I'm sure I could easily pick one out with their contractors there post concrete One crack was at the back of the driveway, where we've never driven (even to this day) and it was clearly run into, one is on a step leading to our bedroom that we weren't anywhere near, and the third is on the other side of the driveway where it was clearly hit by someone working in the yard As outlined in the contract, any work that was not completed correctly is to be corrected and paid for by the builder This also includes our bathroom sidesplash and downspout in the front that isn't even connected to the line that runs it away from the house (causing water to gather by the basement) Finally, in regards to them being easily accessible, please note my multiple screenshots that include unanswered texts and texts that show how often they were on vacation and unresponsive If you'd like documentation on the contracts, I will happily send it with the highlighted portions showing that we are owed all the previously listed items Regards, [redacted] ***
Again I am sorry that there is this misunderstandingThe contract clearly states cost plus buildThere is still a balance due of over $this is after the over $in discounts we gave you to help you outAs explained several times before until this balance is paid nothing else would be done on your projectThe outside work was done to the absolute best it could be given the very wet lot conditions and winter time that it was finished (this was to get you into your home by end of year as you repeatedly requested, record timing months from footers being poured)Again you were only charged for the work that was already performedThe work you are stating that is not complete with the exception of the side splash is all work that would be performed at additional cost to youAgain being the cost plus arrangementAs for being accessible by phone email or text during the project we were extremely availableIn fact I would say that we had more communication with you than any other customer of oursI know this is probably in part to you living right next door to the project and this being your first home build so we tried to facilitate that as much as we could while still being fair to our other customersThe concrete was left by finishers in perfect shapeThe only person I know that was even there during the curing stages of the concrete that the complaints are about were you all (reason we know this is because you put your initials by the garage door)Thank you David Bauer
