Inspections of the Complainant’s property revealed damage due to a plumbing water leak and damage due to the peril of wind and hail. Estimates have been provided for the repairs of this damage which includes the removal of the damaged sheetrock.
The complainant believes she has coverage for mold and/or algae testing and remediation of mold and algae. Her policy does not provide coverage for mold or algae testing and/or remediation of mold or algae no matter what the peril. Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: Texas Farm Bureau has no facts in their response. Ford did not say the damage was caused by water over time like Texas Farm Bureau tries to bend the facts. They have confirmed that the damage is due to excessive water in the fuelEvery response Texas Farm Bureau presents is based on speculation. No facts. I am attaching receipts to show proof of my maintaining my truck. I am also attaching Ford Motor company provided recommended service schedule. If you look at my maintenance, it is done prior to the recommended mileage. So Texas Farm Bureau claim that the damage is due to lack of maintenance is a lie. Once again an excuse to try to get out of paying my claim. They are grasping for reasons not to pay. Since it seems like we are allowed to speculate in our claims, I would like to suggest that Texas Farm Bureau does not want to pay my claim because they reward agents, adjusters and employees based on claims NOT paid. I have no facts to support this but neither does Texas Farm Bureau when they make their excuses to deny my claim. I believe that their continued excuses and changing their reasons for my claim being denied supports my speculation more than their claim I do not maintain my truck. I have provided proof. Maybe they will provide some proof. They are big corporation, I am a small consumer. Maybe they feel like they can just push me aside with mere speculation. Texas Farm Bureau changes their stance every response. First they claimed there was no water in the fuel. I provided proof, facts, that excessive water did exist. Their sample procedure is very pro Texas Farm Bureau and anti policy holder. Next they claim that the station where I last filled up with fuel did not have any other complaints so I must not have excessive water in my fuel. Again, this is speculation. Who is to say more people didn't get excessive water but couldn't track it to that station? The documentation provided from Ford also indicated that the damage did not have to be from the last tank of fuel. Texas Farm Bureau based their denial on a small (maybe ounces) sample of fuel taken from the highest point in the engine they could take a sample, days after the claim was filed. Another Pro Texas Farm Bureau move to allow excessive water to settle out. Anything to deny a claim so the employees, agents and adjusters can get a bonus maybe? Now Texas Farm Bureau is claiming that they will not pay my claim because I did not maintain my truck. I have attached the recommended maintenance schedule for this engine from the manufacture and also my receipts for maintaining my truck from Ford Quicklane in Humble. Performed before the recommended maintenance schedule

Our initial response still remains

We have reviewed the complaint and our file. The claim was handled properly from the stand point of investigating the loss, inspecting the claimant’s vehicle, and paying for the loss. We issued payment for the repairs along with a copy of our estimate. We also cashed out the rental
with a check for $for five days based on hours of labor on the estimate. We provided Mrs*** with a letter and directions to provide the shop the estimate so they could order parts and schedule her vehicle in for repairs. Mrs*** appears upset because we would not authorize a rental for the weekend when her vehicle was drivable and not in the shop. It is standard and preferable for repairs and rentals to start early in the week when the shop has the parts and are ready to work on the damaged vehicle. When we communicated this information to Mrs***, it appeared to upset her

Our estimate listed parts and prices that are acceptable in the repair industry. In fact, the Toyota repair facility confirmed they could repair the vehicle from our estimate According to *** *** Toyota of Katy, their estimate was written under the guidance of *** **, all new
parts. This matter has been resolved for an agreed amount and a release was taken

To Whom It May Concern: Your letter of January 29, to Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Companies regarding the above referenced complaint was forwarded to me for a response Texas Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company insures Edwin Baker under the above-referenced Auto Policy.

To prevent the late payments and late charges in the future we encourage our members to enroll in AssurancePay, our automatic recurring payment program and have their installments drafted on the due date of their choice. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance on this matter. Thank you Sincerely, *** ***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
Ford has provided detailed information about damage caused to Ford diesel engines by excessive water in fuel I have attached the Ford Motor Company documentation along with pictures of the damage to my truck As you can see, the pictures of my truck damage is exactly what Ford Motor Company documents that will be caused by excessive water in the fuel I believe Texas Farm Bureau is doing all they can to deny my claim Even indicating that it would be a waste of my money to pursue legal action to try to get them to pay. I would not ask Ford Motor Company to determine if my insurance policy is right for me, that is not their expertise I do not believe Texas Farm Bureau is more of a expert at determining if my Ford engine has been damaged by excessive water in the fuel than the manufacture of the engine I believe the information from Ford Motor Company, not just the Ford dealer, attached, along with pictures of the damage to my engine, confirms the damage to my engine was caused by excessive water in the fuel The documentation, from the manufacturer of this engine, explains that the damage does NOT have to be caused by the current fuel in the fuel system Texas Farm Bureau waited days to take a sample of the fuel in my fuel system They only wanted a small sample of fuel from the upper fuel filter housing The adjuster refused a sample offered from the lower fuel filter housing This action shows that Texas Farm Bureau is not an expert at how the damage can be caused based on documentation from Ford Motor Company Water settles out of diesel fuel fairly quickly The pictures of the samples of fuel taken from my truck show the separation that occurs The samples can be shaken and the water will settle out in a matter of minutes However, Texas Farm Bureau thought that a sample from the upper fuel filter only, after sitting days allowing any water to settle out, would indicate if their was excessive water in the fuel in the entire fuel system I believe this act indicates that they are trying to deny my claim The response from Texas Farm Bureau to Revdex.com indicates that they know that samples taken from the lower fuel filter housing had excessive water and that metal shavings were found in the fuel system According to the Ford Motor Company documentation attached, the fuel pump breaks down while trying to pump excessive water Again, Texas Farm Bureau knows that there really was excessive water in the fuel and yet they continue to deny my claim. Texas Farm Bureau indicated that Murphy did not have any other complaints about excessive water in fuel However, because of the way that water separates from diesel, how can it be proven that I was not the unlucky one that got a big slug of water from the Murphy fuel tanks? I believe that Texas Farm Bureau knows that the damage to my truck was caused by excessive water in my fuel Even if they cannot prove where that fuel was purchased, they should cover this damage They cover damage to vehicles for non-insured motorist which they cannot be reimbursed for, but are refusing to pay my claim.

Mr. [redacted] reported on 12/21/2015 that his 1977 John Deere 4430 diesel tractor was totally destroyed by fire on 12/17/2015. The tractor was inspected by a representative of Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Companies and it was determined to be a total loss.   The policy carried by Texas Farm...

Bureau Underwriters on the tractor is an actual cash value policy. Several comparable tractors of like kind and quality were found. Based upon our market analysis from those comparable tractors the actual cash value of the tractor in question was determined to be $17,816.67.  Mr. [redacted] stated that he wanted to retain the salvage. Therefore, we obtained quotes from local salvage buyers and determined the salvage to worth $1,350.   After deducting the salvage value and policy deductible of $250 from the actual cash value amount referenced above, Texas Farm Bureau Underwriters issued payment to [redacted] on 1/26/2016 in the amount of $16,216.67.   It is the position of Texas Farm Bureau Underwriters that the amount Mr. [redacted] has been paid reflects a fair and reasonable actual cash value settlement for the property that was lost.
Sincerely,

We have reviewed the complaint filed on behalf of Mrs. [redacted].  Texas Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company youthful operator procedures are to add drivers to our personal auto policies that have had their Phase One (learners permit) for at least six (6) months and have reached the age of...

16.  We offer our members the opportunity to exclude a youthful operator if they do not want to add the youthful operator at that time.  The original information provided to Mrs. [redacted] advising her that their daughter would not need to be added to the policy until she received her Phase Two (provisional license) was incorrect.  However, since the information originally provided to Mrs. [redacted] was incorrect Texas Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company decided to reverse the charges. The charges were reversed on June 2, 2015 satisfying Mrs. [redacted]’s desired outcome.  Please contact us if you need further explanation or clarification.
