They were very professional, competent, and provided a high quality installation after removing the old foot drivewayThey were careful of the trees and shrubs lining the driveway, and made sure to provide the proper slopes to facilitate the planned drainage for the propertyThe work was inspected by Billy after completion, and I have signed up for a continuing program by Kaplan

Over the summer, Kaplan did a great job on the driveway Scheduling and tearout was done quickly The laying down of the drive way also happened quickly with the least amount of discomfort to us or neighbors however, sealcoating the driveway as recommended is still a problem I have been calling since September to get the driveway sealed (as recommended by Kaplan) and here it is late October and still waiting for the scheduling to occurr Its getting colder so I have serious concerns on the integrity of the job Cant give it as the follow up service is seriously lacking!

I have contacted the customer and agreed to send a crew back to repair his driveway and sealcoat the drive at no cost

I made appointment with Kaplan sealcoating to have my driveway sealcoated, as a result of the flyer they mailed me including the price they would do the work forThe day before, they verified the appointment and gave an approximate morning time they would arriveI wound up staying home and waiting for them all day and they never showed up, or even gave me a courtesy call that they wouldn't be able to make itAfter about days later they called and said I was scheduled for tomorrow and requested I contact them to verify if that was agreeableI called and left a message saying that last minute notice wouldn't work because of other plans I had madeThat next day I came home from those plans only to find a Kaplan truck in my driveway, and a employee filling the cracks and sealcoating my driveway, which caused a inconvenience as one could imagine!
The actual work was good and the employee was friendly, and as it turned out I was happy with the job to finally be done, although it was a surprise and not at all professional as I expected from KaplanI paid the employee with a check for the price agreed upon on the flyer Kaplan mailed to me, and thought that was the end of itThe real schock came a few days later when I received an invoice from Kaplan stating they received the $agreed upon price on their flyer which CLEARLY stated crack filling was to be included, but now they wanted $more for crack filling, in addition to the $ I thought this was absurd, and actually a ploy to extort more money from me, and told them so! I haven't heard anything more from them since I wrote them days ago stating the aboveI just thought this post might help other people who are considering hiring Kaplan for their services in the future

kaplan does not stand behind their work and very discourteous ***update 9-6-17*** after getting the run around and their story keeps changing, they have completely ruined our labor day weekend first, they were to "repair" our new driveway on friday, no show at pm friday night, we were told they were coming on satin the afternoon, they showed up in the morning, not prepped for the work that needed to be done we were told lars was to come out on monday, and no one came lars just left, and now the story has changed he is satisfied with our lumpy repair job, he now told me he is part owner, and he is happy we paid for a new driveway last summer, we have had nothing but blown of calls, the entire company does not stand behind their work we have been dealing with jason ***comi know there are a lot of people in my local highland park groups and nextdoor groups that have had a lot of problems with this company this was not a cheap job, and it looks horrible I will make sure to post photos on *** *** *** *** and in my local groups this has been a horrible experience bottom line, they made a mistake, and instead of replacing the driveway, they are trying to "repair" it they claim to be in this business for a long time, this mistake was an obvious one and should never have happened if you are considering this company, please read their reviews on the internet we should have**
***july 17, 2017*** just got off the phone with brenda we have been sitting on a brand new driveway we paid in full last season that is pouring water into our garage because of the pitch in addition, they did a very sloppy job initially, see photo we were told months ago back in febthey would be replacing the driveway no one ever followed up we are now told they will repair the new driveway by cutting it and sealcoating over this we as paying customers who expected a new driveway should not be receiving a repaired driveway with a seam that is sealcoated over I will pass this onto my local groups for highland park and highwood on *** *** we have been treated as if they were paying us for the business unreal I would never recommend this company to anyone if you cannot even make a driveway pitch away from a garage then you should not be in this business at allevery time we have called they act like they have no idea what we are talking about when a man came here and said the grading is offi would rather my money back than a repaired new driveway???? they offer no money back for the inconvenience, the water into our garage, no money back for the fact that we paid in full for a new driveway????? that they messed up? go somewhere else Their "repair" has made our NEW driveway worse

I had Kaplan sealcoat my driveway last year They recommended that I need a full replacement of my asphalt at the time I was not in a position to do that last year, but they gave me a good plan on how I can handle it the following year (this year) They have already followed up to see when I would like to schedule it and gave me a fair quote vs the others I got an estimate from Their staff has been very attentive and professional

my yr old driveway has large cracks , Kaplan sent out an inspector, and he agreed they would repair my drivewayI also signed up for their annual sealcoating and prepaidbut they are terrible about returning my calls, I'm lucky if they return out of calls, they have said they would repair my driveway last week but they didn't showthey don't return calls, customer service is terrible

Kaplan did a great job on both my driveway and my neighor’s They were extremely accommodating with our many schedule changes based on several other projects that were simultaneously being scheduledBoth driveways look great! I am completely satisfied

All looked good on the day of installation of asphalt driveway until the crew left and it started to rain in buckets (9/05/2018)My driveway is flat so it had to be pitched so as to drain water away from house and rear sidewalkThe low point of the pitch was about feet short so at least 1/of my driveway water flows right on the rear sidewalk and not further back so as to drain into yard Kaplan inspector came out to see the problem and said the job should be scheduled mid October, At the writing of this review, I am waiting scheduling of repairWhen the job is to my satisfaction, I will write another reviewAlmost Satisfied

This company fails on being a services company:
1) The product (in my case a new asphalt driveway) started to crack after a year and even after a sealcoat
2) Communication: During the original install, the Kaplan team was terrible in follcommunications and was generally not responsive Even with my faulty driveway, while they did agree to replace it they are not responsive on clarification questions after weeks of calling an emailing No accountability
I would not recommend anyone to work with them

This is the second time I've had to report Kaplan to the Revdex.com I have tried multiple times leaving messages for a return call also multiple emails to speak with someone regarding my driveway that was installed last yearWe have had problems such as asphalt cracking and with the expensive additional top coat we purchased No one should ever have to deal with company that will not respond If I knew the owner of this company I would strongly inform him or her they should now be in business if this is how they treat their customers My mistake was not reading other customers reviews about Kaplans poor customer serviceNO ONE should treated this way
I have patiently tried working with this company but enough is enough
