After market wheels/tires do not automatically void the service contract. The service contract you purchased allows a limited size above the factory set which was the case with the wheels that were on that vehicle at the time of sale. You proceeded to install wheels/tires that crossed your service contracts threshold and is the lesser of two reasons they caused them to decline you. The main reason was that you lifted vehicle. Even though you were completely at fault, the service contract company was kind enough to refund the warranty in full. This is your vehicle which you bought last year. We will not pay for any repairs.

Good Afternoon, All vehicles are sold As-Is. You purchased an 8 year old vehicle with 90k As-Is. This vehicle was purchased over a year ago. Any necessary repairs or maintenance for this vehicle are the sole responsibility of the owner. We consider this matter closed.

the sale Mr. [redacted] told our manager that he inspected the vehicle at a service shop. According to Mr. [redacted], his main concern was an alleged oil leak.  This vehicle was sold as-is. Hello,We just checked with Wells Fargo. They posted the Gap refund of $586.49 on March 12th. You can verify by calling customer service at ###-###-####. The cancellation was dated for Dec. 17, 2014. If you would like to see a copy of the check or the invoice date from the Gap provider please come in...

to the dealership and speak to Fahad.Best Regards, **

I am rejecting this response because: First and foremost, yes, I bought a USED vehicle which was already past its manufacturers warranty of 3yr/36k basic and 5 year/100k powertrain when I purchased it from you. In addition, the truck was lifted PRIOR to me purchasing it from you which voided the warranty well before I sized the tires from 33" to 35". What I do with my truck and my tires once in my possession is my business and my business alone. Yes, because I had to purchase new tires I went to a 35" instead of the 33's you put on. That's my right to make that decision on a truck that I own that no longer has a warranty to void. Now, what YOU do prior to selling the truck and tires to me is a whole different story and the story you have told in your shady dealings is pretty dishonest and speaks for itself. Nobody is saying anything about the weight that the tires can hold, yes they are rated to handle the WEIGHT of my truck. The tires that YOU put on are only to be filled to 65 PSI. A Dodge Ram 2500's door jam sticker clearly indicates the tires must be filled to 75 PSI cold in the front and 80 PSI cold in the back. Anything inflated lower than that will send an error triggering the TMPS alert. YOU or the tire shop YOU hired put on tires with a maximum PSI of 65 then YOU or the tire shop YOU hired then overfilled those tires to 80 and 75 PSI. You did so in an effort to keep the monitoring system from sending a notice to the vehicle.  Need I point out that overinflating tires past their maximum pressure will change how the vehicle handles, rides, steers and brakes. Under no circumstances should tires be overinflated. That will put the driver (ME) at risk of a blowout and will diminish the ability for me to control the truck. How funny that after all of that you expect ME to give YOU an apology and remove my ACCURATE reviews? If anyone is owed an apology, sir, it's ME. And how strange that I should have to file a complaint with the Revdex.com to even get a response out of you? Strange indeed. You think that you can go online to peoples complaints and reviews and bully and undermine them into submission or just going away (I've ready all of the other complaints and reviews you have responded to), don't count on it with me.

Review: I would like to file a Revdex.com claim against Kareem Auto Group located at [redacted]

I purchased a 2004 [redacted] F14 4x4 from above dealer on August 8, 2015 for the base price of $14,7630 (total contract price $19,240.63, see attached). At the time of buying the truck [redacted] (Sales person for Kareem Auto group) offered an extended warranty from Warranty Solutions; being an older truck I purchased warranty for the price of $2,117.00, as well as GAP insurance and Anti-theft.

Within approx. 1 month of buying the truck I noticed the transmission seemed to be slipping; I called Kareem Auto Group and the stated I needed to bring it back to Sacramento to have "their" mechanic look at it. I worried about driving it that far, but I did and [redacted] looked at the transmission and stated it may need to be flushed due to the truck having over 100,000 miles. I had this done at [redacted] in Vallejo. This seemed to help, but on May 15, 2016 the transmission was slipping in to neutral as I was driving. I took my Truck to [redacted] in Vallejo, the mechanic stated that the transmission was shot and I needed a new one. He called [redacted] and had their representative come out to look at the transmission. The Representative for [redacted] denied the claim based on not have the stock tires and rims on it. The mechanic from [redacted] called me and stated what the representative from [redacted] said, I then called [redacted] and told them that when I bought the truck it had after-market tires and rims on it! They then in turn stated that Kareem Auto Group should never have sold me the warranty because it was never valid.

Also the "AS IS" Buyers guide is wrong. The vin does not match for a 2004 [redacted] F150, it belongs to a [redacted] Tahoe (see attached)Desired Settlement: Resolution to this situation - refund me the full price of warranty $2,117, see attached. Have Kareem Auto group pay for new transmission, cost based on verbal from Broadway Auto $3,600.

Business

Response:

As per the guidelines stipulated in the vehicle service contract you voided the service contract by lifting the vehicle. Although you voided the warranty through your own actions the Service contract provider had already agreed to offer you a full refund (as you are well aware). Secondly, this vehicle was purchased August 8, 2015 in normal working condition. If you are currently experiencing transmission slipping, it is due to modifications you have made to the vehicle.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:. I waa td by warranty adjustor that the.warranty was voided because it did not have factory rims. As I told.him, I brought it with after market rims. I sent a picture to kareem auto aa directed to prove how I bought it. NOW kateem auto is changing the reason my warranty was voided. Also I have had issues with transmission since I bought the truck. It was noted and I was instructed to take it to Their mechanic COOKS.... So kareem auto knows the truck had issues. Also the "as ia" has rhe vin number of a [redacted] tahoe. I still think Kareem Auto should pay something for transmission. If they were a.goid, reputable dealer.they.would work wirh.their customers instead of putting the blame on tge customer. I am rejecting this response because I was told specifically by warranty representative that warranty should never have been sold to me because truck was sold with aftermarket rims. This is an issue we will never agree on. I just know I won't ever give Kareem Auto business again.

Review: I purchased a '07 [redacted] Wrangler in March 2015. The purchase price was increased from the advertised price when I had applied for the vehicle from $17987 to $20087 before tax. When I got there, one of the owners came in and told me he increased the price overnight. A few days later while talking to the salesman that sold us the vehicle, he informed me that the owner had instructed him to not give me the 2.99% APR that I had qualified for and to charge me a higher rate. The vehicle hard started when I did the test drive but they told me that it was just how vehicles are when not started everyday. Ive only owned older vehicles so I didnt know. Vehicle also jumps severely out of 1st gear. They go through a private auto shop across the street that an employee told me they had an "understanding with" and refused to let us go to a different shop for a 2nd opinion. Before I picked up the vehicle they took it to "their" shop and they claimed nothing was wrong with the vehicle. Once I signed the papers one of the owners came in and bragged about how he took the [redacted] to Tahoe for the weekend and played in it. Had I known this before I purchased the vehicle I would not have bought it because who knows what damage he caused to the vehicle over the weekend. Especially if it was after their "inspection" that I was never shown paperwork for. They not only did not disclose all the issues with the vehicle but they talked about some issues that the vehicle was going through when I had talked to them at a later date knowing that they had hid them when they sold me the [redacted]. When I had said I was upset about the vehicle and the issues since the moment I drove off the lot, they told me that to not dare try to pursue any issues or sue them because they have so many lawyers that I would lose and don't stand a chance. They also said that many people have tried and none have succeeded. This upset me because they basically threatened me to not sue them.

Full description in attached document.Desired Settlement: This vehicle has only caused me stress, anguish and grief that should not be needed for a vehicle that was promised to be safe, reliable and have no issues. I have feared for my safety while driving this vehicle since leaving the lot so I would like a full refund for everything I have paid thus far on my loan and deposit so that I can purchase a reliable vehicle that I can drive without fearing for my safety and the safety of my family or pay repairs on what I described in the attached document.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: the vehicle was sold to me in an unsafe condition AND [redacted] autos ales KNEW about many of the dangerous problems with the vehicle. Also the nonchalant threats I recieved once those papers were signed from the owner was very outragious. They made me feel as if once those papers were signed I could do nothing and was screwed. This business should go under review for the cars they sell including paperwork and their "inspections" on the vehicles that I never saw or recieved any paperwork for. The car fax report doesn't mean much when people can hide issues by not reporting them to insurance companies.

Review: We bought a 2005 Lexus March 7, 2016. On the drive home, (with in an hour)the car started having major driving and mechanical issues. The tire pressure light, check engine light, traction control lights came on and the suspension went out, then the car started bouncing. I called the dealership immediately and they said they would look at it. Unfortunately we live about 3 hours away and driving the car was dangerous. We could not afford to have it towed back to them. I took it to our mechanic and he found major problems that had been covered up. Our mechanic also said one of the problems involving the evap system was confusing because it could not have passed the smog control in that condition. When we looked at the car on March 7 the back passenger door would not open or close. We were told they would fix it properly. We went to the bank and came back 4 hours later to purchase the car and were told the door had been fixed. It did open and close at that time (one time). The next day the door was not working. Our mechanic said (and took pictures) the wires in the door had been cut and an improper actuator (locking motor) had been installed and put back together shoddily. Our mechanic took pictures of the door mechanics and sent an email to Kareems asking the dealership to pay for this repair. I emailed Kareem with all our concerns and asking them to pay for door lock repair. Kareems service department had to have seen or done the shoddy repair. Kareems called me and in a 2 minute conversation said under no circumstances would they pay anything for this repair. [redacted] ([redacted]) said the car was Sold As Is. The car has been under different repairs for 30 days now. Our mechanic is appalled at the the condition and the cover up done to make this car for [redacted]e. Our 4 major concerns involve the evap system and smog cover-up, suspension breakdown, and door lock. I understand the Sold as Is but when you pay almost $15,000 the assumption is that it will be drive able for more than one hour.Desired Settlement: Pay for the cost of door lock repair.

Response:

I am puzzled by the inconsistencies of your opening statements. You said you live "3 hours away" and started having "major driving and mechanical issues" within "an hour" That means less than 60 minutes. According to this complaint you called our dealership and we instructed you to immediately return so that we could try to assist you if there was a problem. You stated that the "car was dangerous" and you couldn't "afford to have it towed back". Somehow you proceeded to take it to your mechanic? You decided to either drive for an additional 2 hours or had it towed for that distance instead of bringing it back to Kareem Auto Sales which was a distance covered in less than 60 minutes. This just doesn't add up.When you originally saw the vehicle you complained of a crack in the dashboard. We have sent you a check for $300 to cover the costs of replacing or refurbishing that piece. The vehicle was sold as-is, that means once you leave the dealership with the vehicle in your possession you are the sole owner and responsible for any future services, repairs, or accidents. We sell used cars. The vehicle you purchased is 11 years old with 125k miles. It is reasonable to assume that repairs may be needed at anytime. All of our customers are offered the opportunity to purchase a service contract.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:Addressing the issues of how we got home is not relevant to the complaints we have made. Your dealership was closed during our drive home. My first call to you was the next day. Our complaints are as follows: 1. Fraudulent evaporative systems codes and smog certification. 2. Back door lock repair guarantee 3. Suspension failed after one hour driving I just noticed the complaint that was logged with the Revdex.com previous to ours was almost identical to ours. It states huge repairs needed immediately after purchase, smog certification, and evaporative system issues. In the previous complaint it states an investigation was conducted and it is believed that Kareem knew of the issues regarding the evap system and did not disclose them. Our mechanic has stated in a written statement, and is willing to testify, that the car we purchased could not have passed a smog certification in the condition it was sold to us. Under Kareem’s ownership it was given a smog certification only 61 miles prior to our purchase. The car was purchased As Is, but the seller is responsible for providing a legal smog certification. It has cost over $1,200.00 to bring the car to smog emissions guidelines and new suspension. Our out of pocket for these two major issues has been $320.91 Regarding the back door lock repair Kareem guaranteed the lock to be properly repaired at time of purchase. It was a condition of sale for us. The back door lock was not fixed with proper parts and wires had been cut to put in the wrong parts. Our mechanic took pictures of the shoddy repair. We have paid $544.65 to have it put in working condition. We have the paid receipt. Your response to the complaints and issues is the car was sold AS IS. AS IS, does not legalize fraudulent representation and or false statement and advertising regarding a legal smog certification. In our favor we have our mechanic (a smog expert) who has taken pictures and is willing to provide statements or testify in our favor. You sent us a check for $200.00 (not $300.00) for the cracked dashboard replacement. At the purchase you said you would take $200.00 off the purchase price or Kareem would replace it. We choose to pay full price but when Kareem could not replace it we asked for the $200.00 as per our agreement. Our only resolution at this level is our reimbursement of door lock repair ($544.65) and evaporative system and suspension repair costs ($320.91). The total for resolution is $865.56

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I called ** on 5/3/16 as per his request. He asked a question regarding the amount of money for our resolution. I told him it was as requested initially $865.56. I also told him we were just notified by bay area fast trac that our traded in 2001 4 runner had been in violation while crossing the bay bridge. The total was $31.00 for that violation. He said our Bill of Sale was proof that we did not own the car on that date and not to worry about it. ** said he would present the owners of the dealership with the amount I stated and would see what they say. He said he would get back to me.

We have reviewed your complaints. We reject your allegations, they are untrue and unrepresentative of the facts at hand.

Review: I purchased this used vehicle with my PREGNANT wife and I on 8/12/2014,The dealer stated that all their used cars to include this 2002 [redacted]are run through their contracted mechanics and inspected to have no major problemsleaks, etc... even showed us the inspection sheet. We traded in our perfectly good[redacted] type-S because the intent of this purchase was for a SAFE,RELIABLE, 4-doorlarger car for our expanding family, with this being our first child. The dealer sold usthe car for 1500$ above value due to its appraised "excellent" condition, took our trade infor 1000$ below value. Upon the conclusion of our used vehicle purchase the handling sales manager when inquired about the extended warranty, that we purchased, strangely advised us not to file any claims under 30 days of owning the car because they would deem the problems as pre-existing conditions. Needless to say at 27 days I took the car in because I saw there was transmission fluid sprayed up underneath the car and it had a burning smell.I had the certified [redacted] Dealer Fairfield do an inspection, and they found a mass of problems wrong with the car, to include, Valve Cover Gaskets Blown,Shift Shaft Collar worn,Shift seal failure, DANGEROUS excessive play in linkage, power steering pump leaking, ALL the drive belts and timing belt dried and cracked (specifically verbally by dealer stated to have been inspected and in good condition), PCV valve leaking, all fluids (brake power, power steering etc) dirty, MAIN shaft seal leaking. What they dont tell you about your warranty is an Certified vehicle inspector comes out for a claim, which he did, and deemed the problems LONG TERM/PRE-EXISTING, therefore denied coverage. Upon approaching KAREEM AUTO SALES INC. The manager stated "Used cars are going to have leaks", and it is not their problem, and kept repeating deafly "its a simple oil leak" and he would get me a "good price on repairs at THEIR contracted mechanic". Car is at dealer in no condition to operate 2 months now.Desired Settlement: Full refund and undoing of the whole car contract (purchased for $10000) and giving me my old car back and paying diagnostic and inspection fees (835.56), Or They pay for the complete repairs to the [redacted], which was more than I can even list in the description above, that was sold to me which is more than we even owe on it (over 6000$ in repairs) plus diagnostic and inspection fees (835.56).

I am rejecting this response because:-"we would have the repair made at a shop that we regularly do businesswith, at OUR EXPENSE." Disagree-That is a straight lie, they never offered for any kinds of repairs at their expense, they offered to "get ME a good price on repairs at their contracted shop" never was it offered to pay for therepairs otherwise it would have been resolved already. And "main transmission seal, and shift shaft collar replacement is hardly just "an oil leak"-"This vehicle (my trade in) needed extensive mechanical and body work inorder for it to meet our standards for resale." Disagree-it needed new seats due to tears in the leather, and had fading paint (i have old before pictures so you can see the before condition),thats hardly extensive mechanical work the motor and transmission and entire drivetrain are in perfectly sound condition.-"Mr. [redacted] declared that he had extensive knowledge of these vehicles" Disagree- "I said I had owned one before, that hardly qualifies asextensive knowledge" I am not a factory trained [redacted] Technician.-“,took our trade infor 1000$ below value” Disagree - As a matter of fact, based on KBB (since that seems like what youare using) your vehicle was in fair - poor condition (once again, trade-ins are appraised on conditions, not retail units), the $6000that we paid for your 2004 (10 years old!) 151k mile! vehicle was above it’s market value. -Disagree "my vehicle had 94k miles, here it is [redacted] soyou should make sure your talking about the right vehicle when references are cited by being accurate. (It even says the mileage on the sales paperwork as well). Appraised trade in value was 7500$ but minus 1000$ for a paint job and minus 500$ for seats equaling 6000$ which as you can see what they are selling it for. Which is more than the amount the vehicle we purchased from them.- "No one advised you to wait 30 days", Disagree- this is a lie because the associate did advise this to us in a semi serious tone with a direct statement when questioned about the warranty-"Franchise Dealerships make much of their profit in the service sectionconvincing uninformed consumers that their vehicles are “dangerous”in need of “massive overhaul”."Disagree-[redacted] of Fairfield has an extensive track record of excellentbusiness practices, as in they have performed many repairs at ZEROcost to their customers along the lines of "massive overhaul" sothat is improper to state that [redacted] of Fairfield as well as ALL dealerships have unethical businesspractices. Consumer states: The company has contacted me and resolved my issues.

Purchased a 2007 BMW 525i a couple of months ago from them and I am overall pretty satisfied with my new used car. For being a 2007 it was in amazing shape seems like this dealership knows how to buy clean quality used vehicles. They had the carfax history report readily available for me and they weren't your typical pushy annoying salesmen who love to BS women into buying something. Angelo was there to let us check out the vehicle inside and out and provided us with the key to turn it on and check out under the hood. After the car checked out OK we took it on a test drive. I appreciate that even on the test drive Angelo wasn't hitting us with the typical sales pitch. He was making sure that we tested everything out on the test drive to insure its working condition and answered any questions that we had about the car and the dealership. The process of purchasing the car was the quickest and most easygoing experience that I have had. Kareem Auto Sales actually surprised me with how customer service oriented they were and the standard they hold themselves and the dealership to. I would most definitely recommend anyone to purchase from them. You don't have to be scared they aren't like most of the other vultures on Fulton ave. Thank you to Angelo and the rest of the Kareem Auto Sales Team!! :)

First of all, I'd like to say that I chose this dealership after reviewing several in the area, based on the courtesy they afforded a woman who had a complaint on this site. So earlier this month, armed with all of the information I had gathered on buying a used car, which I had painstakingly acquired under the preface of "I am a single woman and none of these dealerships will DARE take advantage of me," I went to Kareem Auto. There, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting with a young man named Mike A[redacted]. Let me tell you about Mike: He was kind, upbeat, hilariously funny, patient, he knew his job and had impressive knowledge of cars in and of themselves, and he was impressed with the information I had compiled and humored me by working with me right down my list of physical items too check, i.e.: Belts, hoses, fluids, flaws, tires (There was much more. I had it to detail). On that day, I purchased a 2006 Toyota Scion along with a 3-year extended warranty which covered virtually anything and everything that could or may go wrong and came away feeling like not only had I just got an awesome car, I had made a new friend.
Bottom line: If you need to buy a nice used vehicle and want to have a pleasant experience while you do it, go see Mike A[redacted] at Kareem!

Bought a 09 Mazda CX-9 from Kareem Auto sales, was generally satisfied with the vehicle, about a week after purchase I went to use my third row seats only to discover that the seat belt buckle was destroyed, called and spoke to the owner Al, who said that he would do nothing about it since I had had the car for a week and could have broken it myself and now want to blame him. I then asked if his vehicles were inspected before sale, he said yes of course we check everything, so I then asked if his records would show that all the seat belt buckles were inspected and found to be in good working order? He said he had "his guys" inspect the vehicle and could not speak about what they found or didn't find. He would not work with me to resolve the fact that I couldn't use all the seats in my vehicle. Wasn't even willing to look at the buckle, I didn't and don't want money, I just wanted a working seat belt buckle so I can use all my seats. The seat belt buckle is not my only problem with this vehicle but the one that is most pertinent, and a huge safety concern.

Review: I purchased a nice 2004 Volvo XC90 from Kareem Auto Sales in May 2014. Al and the other staff were great to do business with. The paint on the car was in very good condition with only a few minor blemishes. Al offered us the Cilajet Surface Protection for an additional $649.00 plus tax.We liked the outstanding shine and protection offered so we added it to our purchase. The Cilajet was installed by [redacted] at our home on May 28 2014. Later we noticed water spots and the Cilajet finish was not shiny we contacted [redacted] then [redacted] and then Kareem's to have it corrected. On July 10 2014 we took the car to Kareem's to have the Cilajet fixed by [redacted] and [redacted]. When we got the car back the water spots were still there and the paint now has fine swirl pattern scratches all over the car. I took photos and sent them to ** and [redacted] at Kareem's on July 14 2014. There has no response from them yet on how they want to resolve this.I also sent the photos to [redacted] at Cilajet LLC, 20924 Normandie Ave. Torrance, CA 90502 to ask for help and to get the business address of [redacted] the Cilaget agent for the Sacramento area. There has been no help from Cilajet either. See photos on [redacted]Desired Settlement: Requesting refund of Cilajet purchase price $704.16 $649.00 plus tax $55.16 Repair of damaged paint and trim estimated at $1500.00

Thank you for your help.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! WE WENT AND LOOKED AT A VEHICLE THAT WOULDNT GO INTO 4 wheel drive High. Had the service indicator on. Mo made a big stink and acting job that he would get this taken care of and give us a call back on Monday. We wanted to buy the car and now I found out the car was sold. How can you sell a car knowingly has mechanical issues. He gave us a good speech about how they want to be known as doing good business. This is not good business. BAD BUSINESS!!!

Review: I purchased GAP insurance through Kareem Auto in Sept of 2014. The cancellation policy allowed for a prorated cancellation of the contract at any point. I requested a refund on December 17, 2014 and again on March 1, 2015. The refund was to be sent to [redacted] Dealer Services and nothing has been received nor have I gotten any response from Kareem Auto. The credit should be in the amount of approx. $636.49.Desired Settlement: I would like the requested refund processed.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Never had a smoother sales experience. I was in and out with the car I chose in less than an hour. Very professional, fair market value on the vehicle, no hidden fees. I will not only recommend this dealership, I will be a repeat customer for years to come. Thank you [redacted]!

Review: Back in September 2014 I bought a car through kareen auto sales for $19,500 it was a [redacted] 1s250 vin:([redacted]) upon looking at the car I saw no major scratches. I took their word when I asked, "has there been or does the car have a noticeable damage due to a car accident?" the man answered "no, I checked the DMV and [redacted]" and showed me a clean [redacted]. next week I saw the damage on the back which he did not let me see because the cars where parked very close to each other. that I did not have the option of even examining that part of the bumper on the day I bought it. I tried calling and going in with no response. I even threatened to cancel the contract, but they told me it was too late. I even bought an extended warranty with them and they did not want to fix it that way. now its April and Im frustrated by the fact that last month I bought a new insurance with [redacted] and they told me that back in 2012 it was reported to the dmv that there was a car accident. that means that the car was and is worth less now and I got ripped off and lied to by the dealership. on top of that I had to change the water pump on my car, which was not covered by the insurance to diagnose. and when the warranty was over the problem lead me to [redacted] with a $1700 payment. lastly, after I bought the car they did such a bad detail that they ruined my cars paint. I came to this conclusion because there was evidence of compound all over the palce, along with white residue. im 100% sure that was not there when I bought the car and waited an hour and a half to get my insurance across the street. ive tryed to call with no response. even have went in with the simple, "sorry hes not here" or "sorry we cant do anything about it, you should of been more aware" On the positive side, the car has been fun and reliable.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a full or at least a refund for the Depreciation to my car and the damage received. I would consider having them fix the problems at hand. Plus a refund of the useless warranty I bough off them.

Hello Mr. [redacted]We try our best to ensure the satisfaction of our customer’s before and after the sale. We definitely do not like hearing about unhappy customers. It’s unfortunate that you feel this way . I would like to share our side of this transaction and reply to all of your concerns step by step. Perhaps after you read our viewpoint you will come to the conclusion that we did everything possible to give you a positive experience.1. The car was sold for $18,002.91 + tax/lic. We were asking $18,700, but discounted ($697.09) the vehicle in order to facilitate the sale.2. As a service to our customer we provide free [redacted]’s for all of our vehicles. We are not required to disclose history, however as a good faith gesture to our customer we try to be as transparent as possible. We still have a copy of the [redacted] that we gave you. It clearly indicates a 1-owner vehicle and No accident/damage reported. I do not think that you are aware of how [redacted] works. The DMV has not been reporting an accident since 2012 otherwise the [redacted] would not be clear. [redacted] searches and purchase information from all types of sources. Sometimes accidents, transfers, services don’t show up immediately. I think you are better off filing a complaint with [redacted]. Attached is a copy of the [redacted] printed at that time.3. I think most people would find it hard to believe that you were not given the opportunity to fully inspect the vehicle you were purchasing. For instance, after your test drive, I assume that you did not park it back in such a tight place out of fear of colliding with another vehicle. After your test drive you didn’t walk around the vehicle? Pop the hood? 4. Warranties do not cover diagnostic costs up-front. You have to pay for a diagnostic to determine what the issue is and if your warranty will cover it. You purchased a 90 day power train warranty backed by [redacted] for $300. Warranty Solutions is the best Used Auto Service Contract provider available. From what I understand of your statement you did not want to pay the $120 that it would take to diagnose an issue that would have been covered by your service contract and in consequence the water pump failed after the service contract expired. That was a bad decision on your end. If you had paid for the diagnostic, the service contract could have refunded you the cost of the diagnostic as well as the entire service. We are not at fault for that. Furthermore, you purchased a vehicle with 68k miles, a water pump service would have been in your near future anyways. Furthermore, water pump replacements do not cost $1700. Here is a link to repair pal, the very first site that popped up in my goodle search of lexus IS water pump service. They state the average costs for this service is between $387 - $483. I’m sorry if you over-paid that much for a water pump replacement. Here is the link: [redacted]5. We do not do detail’s after the sale. Period. The only thing we might do after the sales is have the dust washed off. The Detail shop that we use is professional and services all the Dealer’s in our area. I agree with your last statement “the car has been fun and reliable”.Take Care.

Review: My husband and I purchased a 2004 Lexus ES330 from Kareem Auto Dealers in Sacramento. An hour off the lot, the check engine light came on. We took it to our mechanic to have it checked on 1/18/16. The code was [redacted] The mechanic found a tear in the intake boot. We called Kareem that same day to only get a phone call back on 1/19/16. [redacted], our finance rep, told us to bring it in and they would take a look at it. The car was brought back to Kareem on 1/21/16 where they replaced the damaged boot. The next day, thinking that everything was fixed, we took it to [redacted] to have the timing belt and water pump replaced costing us over $836. On 1/24/16 the check engine light came back on. We took it back to [redacted] on where they determine that the evaporated hose was torn and the hose to the filter box had been JB Welded. They stated then that this car should not have passed smog. On 2/5/16 we took it back to our mechanic where he confirmed that due to the tear in the evaporated hose along with the torn intake boot, this car should never had passed smog. After an extensive diagnostic evaluation that there is an additional $5000 worth of work this car needs. After speaking to an attorney, I was advised to call the dealer about returning the car. On 2/12/16, I called [redacted] and told him my frustration of finding out this car was not able to pass smog and the fact that they never paid the [redacted] transfer fees as per our contract. He only stated that they have proof of a clean smog check but didn't offer any other assistance. I called again and spoke to the manager [redacted] who told me that they will take the car back, that they would only consider it a trade in for another car on their lot. When I requested to have a copy of the smog certificate, he said they no longer have that as it was given to [redacted]. According to my attorney, they legally must keep a copy in the file. When I asked who completed the smog check, I was told it was done by an independent licensed mechanic – no name was given. My only recourse in this matter is getting my money back.Desired Settlement: I would like to return the car to Kareem for a full refund.

Response:

Hello,

*This vehicle was sold as-is.

*It has been smogged by an independent smog facility in CA. It has also been smogged recently by the previous owner(s) on 08/27/2014 and 11/19/2012.

*On the sales contract (553) section 2. A. Vehicle license fees you were charged an estimate of "$0". On section 2. B. Registration/Transfer/Titling Fees you were charged "$15" and the [redacted] was paid $15 as stated clearly on your copy of the vehicle registration card.

*Our vehicles are sold as-is with no returns.

Best Regards

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

Kareem is stating that this car was sold as-is and has a clean smog. There reason to believe that the "check engine" code was cleared prior to the sale because there would be no reason for the check engine light to come on an hour off the lot. The [redacted] did their investigation, and though I can't reveal the details of the report, it's believed that Kareem knew of the issues regarding the evaporation system and didn't disclose it.

Review: On 31 July 2015 I purchased a 2010 Subaru WRX from Kareem auto sales. The staff was very helpful and nice, but failed to disclose that the vehicle purchased had an accident that had damages over 750 dollars. By law, police accident reports are required when damages exceed this amount. While the vehicle itself has been alright to drive, I just recently tried to resell the vehicle to another private owner and to a dealership, which both denied my trade in due to the negative car fax report that was pulled. I as a customer was not disclosed this information at the time of purchase and feel as if I had know this information up front, I would have made a different decision in this situation. I spoke with the dealership on 30 September 2015 and confirmed that they did not present a car fax or disclose to me that there was an accident on the vehicle. At the advice of my military and civilian lawyer, I was told to contact the [redacted] for resolution. I do not want to cause any major lawsuits or take legal action, and I believe that this can be resolved with the Revdex.com and the dealership itself.Desired Settlement: I desire to return the vehicle and warranty to the dealership and receive a full refund back to the lien holder. I wish to take my business elsewhere and do not feel safe having this vehicle since I was not told about the accident beforehand. If that cannot be done or even a partial refund be accomplished, I will take civil legal action at the advice of my attorney.

Attached is the SIGNED carfax history report that was disclosed to you at the time of sale. "I spoke with the dealership on 30 September 2015 and confirmed that they did not present a car fax or disclose to me that there was an accident on the vehicle." This is a false statement.Carfax reports are listed on our website and signed during any sale of a vehicle. If you need any further assistance please contact us at [redacted]
