We were super impressed. Everything that Kayak has said they would do, they have either met or exceeded our expectation. We are so happy we bought a Kayak pool. It was a painless process from start to finish. We are looking forward to opening our pool & enjoying it next Spring.

We LOVE our kayak pool! From the salesman, to the finance department, customer service and installers, we knew exactly what to expect and were kept in the loop the entire way. Our pool was installed a couple of weeks later than expected, but it was because of rain and couldn’t be avoided. No heater needed, when they said it would hold its heat in they weren’t lying, we live in Ohio and used the pool until October! We look forward to many summers in our own yard!

We have had our Kayak pool for 2.5 years. This has been an uneventful experience, which is good. The pool is easy to open and close. The tarp that came with pool only lasted 2 winters. We live the frogger system.

From meeting with the Salesperson, to the installation of the pool, the process was seen less. Thank you, Kayak.

They do not do what they say.we have ordered a pool through them in July, which the fuy promised 14 to 21 days our pool would be completed. It is now way over two months.when they installed our pool, the next day after filling it, we noticed a leak coming from where the pump is.we have called the customer service, and we have been emailing to let them know.2 weeks later they send someone to look at it, the service guy said that they cracked rhe skimmer, which leads to the pump, and they tried to basically glue it with sealant. They could not believe they would leave a cracked part on our new almost *** pool.there are two poles missing on our pool too, which we have yet to receive. The customer service is so bad that they laugh, when you have a problem, or hang up on you if you start getting upset with them. When they gave us a date the pool would come in, they didnt even know that they had to take a test to install the pool here through our city. We had to tell them after the hoa told us. They finally signed up to take the test, and rhey failed. The second time they passed. They kept prolonging the delivery date. We are yet to hear back on the part that is leaking, they wont answer emails anymore, I called and when they hear its us the customer service will always say, they are in a msnagers meeting. We are losing water everyday. They are the most horrible people to talk to about a problem, and they don't care about your problems after they have their money.they said weather has been a factor to the late delivert but it has been a pretty dry summer after july.after the official ordering if the pool. Customer service stinks.

I ordered a pool they told me it would be installed no more than a month later. It’s been 2 months still no pool. They told me they wouldn’t charge me until it’s installed but they took the whole amount *** from my lender. And I have no pool. They came to install but ran into a rock and said they can’t break it up. So I have to hire someone else and pay out of pocket. But they took all the money already.

It’s still not fully installed because I was never told I had to wire the salt system, plus I had to order more sand than they told me I had to and I got stuck with paying for 2 loads of sand. It has been a problem the entire process with this company! So I have to get an electrician out there for a second time because they only stated in the paperwork I got that there is only one specific outlet needed to be wired up for the install. It didn’t mention anything about having an Electrition wire up my salt system. They told me someone would come set it all up, then I get there and it’s laying on the ground have hooked up I called and that’s when they told me I had to have an electrician wire it up, they do not do that. So that’s more money out of my pocket.

I purchased this pool at the end of last summer. I had a t-valve go bad. Contacted Kayak Midwest. They said the installer should come out and look at the pool. Instead he said, “yes, sounds like the t-valves is bad. I’ll just call and say I looked at it. Then you can call me and I’ll walk you through it. I don’t want to drive 100 miles.”
I spent a lot of money on this pool. It has a ten year warranty and I feel I shouldn’t have tot be the one to fix it. I have called over and over to Kayak Midwest. No one gets back to me. They give me the run around.

A part has already been ordered and we are sending an installer out to fix the issue. This has already been expressed multiple times to Mrs. D.

Kayak Pool did reach out to me, however, I never hear from the service person and that’s why I have to call back on a weekly basis. Therefore, Kayak needs to do their part and reach out to the service person to call me. This has been on-going for well over a month. My pool is not functioning as it should be.

Regards,

Patricia D

Very please with our Kayak pool & ongoing service questions. I would recommend.

We are so glad to hear that you had a great experience with us! Thank you for the review!

Many issues throughout the "waiting process" before delivery of the pool with misinformation about services that Kayak would and would not provide during the installation process. Very poor communication of updates prior to the pool being delivered. Kayak failed to provide, in a timely manner, the reason for delay of delivery...which was not in any way, weather related but due to problems with the freight service they contract...once delivered, installation person called within 72 hours but was unable to schedule an install date so he said he would call me back the middle of the following week, of which he failed to ever do. So, I called the installation department and was told that they would contact him and the install person would have an additional 24-48 hours to get back to me. After all we'd been through, I wasn't happy giving him up to another 48 hours to call me and demanded a call within 24 hours. Of course, that call never came, so I called the install department back and was given multiple excuses and finally, after a heated conversation, asked to speak with a supervisor. Eventually, Mike called, it was a brief conversation, that included him speaking to me in profanities, telling me to "shut the F up", also letting me know that he will intentionally continue to delay the installation of the pool if we called back with any further complaints and then he hung up. He then turned around and called my wife's phone to try and resolve the issue. I answered this call as well, repeatedly asked him to give me the name of his supervisor/superior which he refused to do. During the conversation, I was threatened by him as he asked, "do you really want to challenge us", and then made comments about knowing my credit score, name, address, etc. The phone call ended with him asking if I wanted them to come and pickup the pool and I replied, yes! Later at 9:30 at night, the installation person tried calling me to schedule a day and time, at which point I told him I was returning the pool. The next day, another representative called trying to "resolve" the issue, but gave no suggestion on what type of resolution he was willing to accommodate, when he asked what I wanted, I told him to refund my money and come and take back their uninstalled pool, which he said they would charge a 15% restocking fee (a policy that had previously been told to me by Leslie in installation and General Manager Mike) that I happily agreed to. I later received an email from him asking us to reconsider and that, despite what I was told by 3 people, he could not take the pool back for the 15% restock and it would cost much more.

We have spoken several times with Mr. L and each time he has become exceedingly aggressive and rude to our staff. Mr. L demanded a date of installation for the 5th of August, unfortunately we were not able to accommodate that. We asked him if the 6th of August would work and he stated no and that if we couldn’t install on the 5th, then get the pool out of his yard.

We are willing to work with Mr. L and have his pool installed, however he will also have to accommodate us as well.

I never demanded an installation date of the 5th and they have not worked with me trying to resolve this issue in anyway. They are in breach of contract due to the lack of scheduling an installation date as described in their contract and they took unauthorized draws on my line of credit, being paid in full before the installation was complete and the pool operational as defined in the contract.

The contract to build and install a pool by Kayak was signed in May. Nothing was mentioned about a possibility of clay soil being a problem or that the soil needed to be tested. After an extended period of time, we received the parts to the pool and the installation was scheduled. We were told the installation would take two days. The installer came to our house and began to dig up the backyard. In less than an hour, they hit the clay soil and a minimal amount of water(less than inch with a foot diameter). They determined that they had to let it dry out. After multiple calls to the installer, they finally came back a week later. Again, they began to dig and said it was to soft and wet(again 1-2 inches in 1 ft diameter), and they halted the installation. One of the crewman said the the pool will sink if it is installed. I called Kayak pools(since the installer is a contractor) and asked to cancel the pool due to the installer inability to dig the hole and loss of confidence since the installer said a pool would sink, and Kayak was offering no fix to this situation. Kayak pools had to be called multiple times before getting any response. When Kayak pools finally answered a call last week, they said they were escalating this to their legal department. I again called Kayak to find out the status and they do not return my call- the company nor the salesman. We are now sitting with a 3 foot deep large rectangular hole in our yard as well as all of the dirt that was dug up sitting on our good lawn, a large mound of sand in our driveway, all the parts to a pool and no pool as well as no idea of the status of this situation. Kayak never tested the soil, and when they were made aware of the situation, they just wanted to still put in a pool that could sink. When we called another inground pool company that does a lot of work in our area- they also stated a sand bottom pool would not work with the type of soil in the area. Kayak is supposed to be an expert in installing these pools, but they are failing to produce a pool after 3 weeks(when they state it should take two days)and we are left in limbo and out $32,000. Kayak has been fraudulent in their business claims.

We have been out twice to install Mr. G’s pool in the past two weeks, however it is entirely too wet at this time. Once the ground is dried, we will install Mr G’s pool and he will have a full bumper-to-bumper warranty. We would never install a pool in a location that is not ideal; we have discussed this thoroughly with our installers and they agree on all counts. The location of the pool is not unsound, but just with the conditions that it is right now.

Unfortunately, we can not control mother nature and at this point we have to wait for the yard to become dry.

I was buying a pool, and the man that came to my house Mr. L,showed me how the pool was made and everything. When he came to the part about me providing the Electric to the Pool I told him I had a 100 FT. extension cord that I used for my old pool.I said I bury it so the mower don't get it,he asked how deep I said we just flip the grass over it & he said you might want to bury it about 1 1/2 deep and that will work .I said ok we can do that . So I give him a Check for *** and he leaves. This is on June 20th. A few days later I get a call from Shawn from Kayak Pools about what I need for them to install the Pool. She say the sand, water & electric and I said ok .Well we start talking about the Electric and she says I have to have a special plug for the pump,I said I was told that the extension cord I had would work, and told her I was not having the Electric company come and put a pole in my yard and pay to have electric run from my house . She said well P thats how we do things ,we hung up and the next day I get a call from L from Kayak Pools 317-536-7910.Ext.204 stating that I can use my extension cord only if I sign a paper stating that if my Pump burns up it won't be covered under the Warranty. I said oh no I'm not paying that much for a pool and not have that covered .So then *** H ,Director of Advertising calls me and wants to know what the problem is .So I tell him about the plug Issue and not being told you have to have a special plug like a Dryer .I said *** told me my plug would work fine .So then he says I need to talk to *** to see if he said that ,I said well I had two people sitting at my table when he said that Extension cord would work. So the next day *** calls my cell phone and leaves a message that yes he talked to *** and he said *** admitted that he forgot to mention the special cord. Now come on we talk about the cord ,would you not know ?? Meaning ***.
So a few days later I get a call back from L,saying I can buy a 10 Guage twist lock extension cord at Lowe's ,but I still have to have a pole put in. I said no. I called *** back and told him I just wanted my Deposit of *** back an just be done with it. I have tried to call them and they won't return my calls .I finally got ahold of L and I told her maybe I should call my Lawyer, she started screaming at me about calling a Lawyer I couldn't understand what she was saying ,I hung up the phone.
So the next day I get a call from *** ,stating he found a 75 ft. cord for the pool for *** which they would pay for because they made the mistake, and they went ahead and ordered my pool after I told them not to ,because I felt like I was mislead about the whole plug Issue .I just want my money back from them .I have been so upset about this whole Issue ,I can't sleep at night worrying about it .I contacted L and she said they are not allowed to talk to me and put me through to a Mr. Mike C,I got his voice mail I left a message for him to please call me that was over a week ago .

The rep did tell Mrs that she could use an extension cord. We don’t normally do that because it could burn the pump almost immediately and void her warranty.

After speaking with upper management, we decided that we would let Mrs. W us the extension cord, but that it would have to be a 10gauge with a twist lock and then we would warranty it. I spoke with Mrs. W and she agreed to purchase the cord. She then called me 2 days later stating that she couldn’t find one (they are available on Amazon) and that we are all liars and that she was having her attorney contact us.

I purchased a pool from Kayak in may 2019, from the moment the salesman left my house I have had nothing but problems with the company. We were advised that the down payment agreed upon of *** with the salesman was not enough and that we had to pay *** down. I then received a work change order causing us to pay more than what was originally discussed. At time of purchase in May we were told we would be swimming by July 4th. I recently learned that Kayak is not even licensed in my city to build. We have paid the *** down and it is almost August and we still do not have a pool, Kayak has not even discussed a near installation date with us. I want to terminate the relationship and cancel the order before any work has been done and have been told I will not be refunded the downpayment of ***. It has been a disaster of paperwork and every person I have talked to has a different excuse as to why this is happening.

Kayak Pools Midwest Response • Jul 29, 2019

We're registered for the permit ready to proceed, the pool is in the warehouse ready for installation.

Installation incorrect. Since the date of pool install we have been trying to get them to correct the installation. It was not installed properly, the hoa is not accepting this pool due to incorrect installation and now the city we live in is stating we are in violation of permit. This has been a nightmare for the past 3 summers and looks like there is no end in site.

Hello, we are sorry for the frustrations you have experienced during the process of installing your pool. I am looking into your file and I see that we responded to your concerns right away back in 2017 and we presented you with a solution for your problem in accordance with your HOA. We made a very fair offer to dig up and reinstall your pool and we received no response from you. We reached out via email and phone several times to have this problem fixed right away. After receiving no response for nearly 2 years we noted that your concerns must have been resolved and we closed your file. Thanks and have a great day!

Customer Response • Nov 01, 2019

We did reach out after the company agreed to let us pay for a reinstall. We are not willing to pay additional costs or reinstallation on something that was their fault. The HOA and City agree and we attempted to contact them repeatedly with no luck, also the liner is shot as well and they aren’t willing to do anything about the either

I think the quality of pool that they try to sale you is beyond anyone's. With that being said....be sure you understand that they want all the money, with a cashiers check, before the pool is even installed. The hassle that you have to go through, getting electrical set up, sand, permit, 411, water and don't forget they are NOT going to clean up after themselves is not worth it......there is another added expense to remove dirt and the left over sand. Once you give them the 25% down payment don't expect much help from there on or any follow up phone calls. Maybe it was because I was not using their finance company. I had cash. The night they come out to show you the pool information they want an answer like a used car salesman (sorry for the reference) they will tell you that if the permit does not go through that you will get ALL of your money back. Well I did but it took weeks to convince them and calling everyone in the company. Then I had to wait weeks before getting it. READ THE PAPERWORK CLOSELY and keep records of everything said and promised....I may have used them or tried to use them inThe future had I not been hung up on and treated so poorly. All in all I canceled since the pool would not fit where we thought it would due to the easement being more than expected. Friendly customer service they are not. Oh and don't ask them to help you draw it all out for the permit, "they don't do that" either. Anyway too expensive for the headaches....

Hello, we are sorry for all the trouble you experienced working with us this year. We were disappointed that things didn't work out to get you swimming, but the good news is it looks like you received a full refund back in May of this year! We're glad that we were able to get everything resolved for you! Thanks and have a great day!

Purchased pool with end deck The deck was not installed due to unknown water line on property. There was no discussion prior to installation regarding a refund for the deck, I just assumed that price would be adjusted accordingly. Kayak's contract states that all changes to contract must be done in writing . To me that is the only issue at hand The day of installation I asked Lesley M about refund and was told that she would talk to manager and get back to me. She later stated that they felt they had done enough for me and that they were not refunding anything. I then reached out to owner Mike K and he threatened to bill an extra *** for work if I did not stop complaining. He also stated that I declined to delay installation of my pool in order for them to send the proper deck which is untrue. That was never discussed and proven false by repeated emails from me asking them if they could in anyway install a deck for me as planned. I filed a dispute with both my credit card and Green Sky (finance company they use) . At this point I received an email stating that they would not be finishing job. I also paid for backfill services which included all materials. Kayak stated that I need to add draining behind pool and that they would do so if I paid paid for materials.

Mrs. signed a contract with our company on March 8th, 2019. On the same day, our sales representative also drew a lot diagram, showing exactly where the pool was going to be located and installed; Mrs. also signed off on the drawing and location. She then agreed to her credit card being run on March 27111, 2019 in the amount of *** in agreeance that we would be ordering her pool and installing it.

After ordering Mrs. pool, the inspector of her township spoke with us and stated that Mrs. would need additional parts for her pool to meet code. We ordered the parts in order to remedy this, free of charge to Mrs..

We delivered Mrs. pool on April 26°1, 2019. During the delivery process, Mrs. requested that our delivery driver take apart her pool package in order to retrieve some paiis to have them custom painted. We again did not charge Mrs. for this, even though prior to delivery it was explicitly explained that she was to have this done on her own.

Our installers arrived at Mrs. house to complete the installation on May 5111, 2019. Upon arrival, our installers noticed that there was a pipe in the location of the pool site, and we would not be able to install as is. Our installers left and returned on the 7th of May to reevaluate.

Our installers decided that the only way to install and meet Pennsylvania code would be to modify the decking and perform additional excavation in order to install pool. All again at no additional cost. Mrs. agreed; however, she also requested our installers perform additional landscaping of the slope in her yard and even though our company does NO landscaping whatsoever, our installers stated that they would, but that this time it would not be for free. Mrs. was not happy about this and we have been going back and forth ever since.

After Mrs. bonding inspection was completed and we could come back out and complete the pool, we still did not come to an agreement to reevaluate. We would love the opportunity to finish Mrs. pool, by doing the original commissioned work, however we have gone above and beyond for her already and still to no avail of satisfying her. We feel she will only be satisfied if we perform thousands of dollars of additional work for free.

Lesley

I purchased a pool from kayak and the salesman came to our home. When our salesman came to our home I had described what I wanted in detail as to the pool being in the ground. I wanted the platform end to be ground level as it was put into a small hill and then the opposite end would be out of the ground some. Well I’m not sure if he didn’t understand or what but it’s a couple feet out of the ground, I understand it will cost me money but I’m not happy with how it looks at all. We have to use a step stool just to get in it, we didn’t want that. I wanted it to look close to an in ground pool and that’s why I picked Kayak pools because I could put it in the ground.

We had a Kayak pool installed on 8-20-2018 have had many issues with our pool, some were corrected, some have not been. We have yet to be able to use our pool as the foundation for the liner was washed out by rain. have had Kayaks service person at our house to fix the walls and check liner issues on 8-25-2018. Pics were taken and sent to Kayak by us the owners and the service person. Kayak keeps giving us the run around about who and if the liner issue will be fixed. Extremely unsatisfied with
