Kernersville Chrysler Dodge Reviews (22)

Review: I purchased a used 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class car from Kernersville Dodge Jeep Ram on Saturday morning 1/24/15 the SAME day less than eight hours later the car was smoking and leaking oil everywhere, the Brake cable would fall each time you stop and restarted the car causing the brake sensor to flash consistently in the dash board, The key to the car was broke so the car was not open to lock or unlock.I took the car back to Kernersville Dodge on Sunday left a note for the service department stating everything that was wrong with the care. I also expressed that I had the car less than 8 hours and it was Smoking and leaking oil. On Monday morning 1/26/15 I called and spoke with Lennie in the service department he told me that they would take a look at the car and give me a call back. No one ever called me back so I had to constantly call them. The following day I spoke with Lori who expressed to the that they found the problem the car had a OIL leak and the brake cable needed to be repaired she then expressed to me that the repairs would be $700.00 plus dollars so I asked her that these repairs would be done at NO COST to me because I had the car less than 8 hours and it started leaking oil everywhere. She went on to say that I only paid $5000 dollars for the car so What was I Expecting?I called back numerous and was told that they were aware of the leak they tired to seal the leak but the seal must not have taken. I continuously had to call back just to get someone to give me some answers each time I called I was passed around from one person to another. I finally spoke to Jeff on 1/28/15 at around 10 am after not hearing form him and I expressed to him that if they wasn't going to fix the car when they knew it had a Oil leak that I wanted to get my Money back he expressed to me that he doubt if that would happen. Kernersville Dodge knew the car had a bad oil leak and they put it on the car lot to sell to a customer anyway knowing it was not in working condition.Desired Settlement: I paid $6,027 dollars CASH for this car and I would like to have my money refunded. I have been without a car I just want a refund so that I can purchase me a reliable car.

So this matter started 1/24/15 the same day I purchased the car.

We are truly sorry that those issues were not handled properly at that time, but in January 30th our service manager tried to correct the mistakes and issues with the car. The car was delivered to the customer and we have not heard from the customer ever since in the assumption that the problems were fixed.Again we are aware that this issue should of been handled with more care, comprehension, and professionalism in our part. Review: I recently made a purchase of a vehicle from this location. Based on what the car needed repaired and agreed upon with manger [redacted] that all would be taken care of. Prior to purchasing the car 2004 [redacted] it would be serviced and assured that all would be handled. After taking the vehicle back several times to get all things serviced as discussed prior to the purchase. Brakes were never replaced as [redacted] said they would be. The customer service has been by far one of the worse experiences ever. We we're contacted more than 3 times about the mess up of the paperwork. Our original sales associate quit during this time because he could not continue to lie to his customers and not hold the end of the bargain. I will never be a customer of this business again and neither will I refer friends and family.Disappointed Customer.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed back for the brake service that was supposedly done by KCD

Response:

Dear [redacted],

After reviewing our records, it is our position that:

1. [redacted] did purchase a 2005 [redacted] from our dealership on 3/13/2014.

2. Fixing the brakes was never mentioned or agreed upon by management. As part of the purchase agreement we agreed to fix the rear driver's side door handle, check the CV joints, replace the motor cover and to detail the car. These services were itemized on the "we owe" sheet and signed by the customer.

3. Per service records dated 3/20/2014 all agreed upon service was performed. Brakes were checked additionally because the customer mentioned hearing a noise (which is also why the CV joints were checked), with no issues being found.

We are a full-disclosure dealership that makes every effort to disclose the true condition of the vehicle at the time of purchase. All of our pre-owned vehicles are sold as-is; all customers are offered the chance to purchase a service warranty. Unfortunately it is the buyer's responsibility to have a vehicle inspected independently if they have concerns and to bring those concerns to the negotiating table. This did not happen in this case. There is nothing we can do further since we have no way of proving the brakes were in fact faulty when we sold the vehicle and have evidence from our shop that they were inspected.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

This is not true.

I would not be taking the time to file the complaint if I was a satisfied customer. the vehicle has to be taken back to the dealership several times as we noticed what was discussed with [redacted] (manager) since Scott (our initial sales rep) quit during the process of the purchase. We spoke to [redacted] face to face more than once and we stressed how the vehicle was not serviced as it was suppose to be and he ([redacted]) agreed that all would be done. If proper maintenance and service was done prior to the sale of the car there would have not been the need for us to have brake service done on the vehicle immediately after the purchase date.

Again, I would not be wasting time to submit this request if what was discussed was taken care of and we were satisified customers.

Please let me know if receipts are needed.

Response:

I apologize that you are dissatisfied with our response but there is nothing more I can offer.

Brake maintenance was not listed in the we owe sheet, of which a copy is attached. It is the customer's prerogative to review this document during signing the paperwork that finalizes the sale and to approve it. I have a record from our service department stating the brakes were checked and no issues were found. I understand our service department is capable of missing things but this never happens when they are asked directly to do something by management. The Service Writer and her team remember performing the post sale repair work on this vehicle and maintain that the brakes were checked as well as the CV joints.

If the vehicle had not been repaired to your satisfaction it should have been brought back here to our service department so we could fix the issue. It was not. We have no way of knowing the integrity of the shop in which the brakes were repaired - it may be that they took advantage of you. Had the brakes been bad when we received this vehicle into inventory we would have fixed them; it is our policy that all used vehicles pass a state and drivability inspection before they are sold. I cannot reimburse customers for maintenance work determined by our service department to be unnecessary.

Review:[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

My point is not about a refund or asking for anything else. It's really about the principal. Brake service are considered to be part of the safety inspection before the car is placed to be sold. This issue should have been resolved without the customer involvement.
