NOT a Locksmith, They are CROOKS!
WARNING, Keyme is NOT a Locksmith! Do NOT Call them. All they do is Call a Real Locksmith for you, then Charge you 3x the Amount. They are CROOKS who are currently under Criminal Investigation! You Have Been Warned!

Terrible
Just more than terrible. I decided do not waste time for searching where I can duplicate a key and came at Menards because I used it before many years ago. My troubles started when I wanted to pay - did not accept my cards. For 15 minutes with a help of stuff finally I made a payment. Then I got a few emails. They were confusion. They charged me for a third key a half of price (should be free). Then I checked other stores and find out that Walmart, Home Depot do it immediately and lower price. I cancelled my order in Menards because of over charge and wait time. I came at Walmart and a young man did it for me during five minutes. Very accurate - he very thoroughly sanded them. When next day I got keys from KeyMe and tried them - it was difficult. I touched teeth of key - they were very sharp. You know expression "paper cut". Now I know - "key cut". Don't recommend this company.

Worst Locksmith company ever
My 78 father was locked out of his house after visiting my mother in the hospital. My niece's were with him and called KeyMe. My father has a security screen with a deadbolt and a door with the same type of locks. They sent out one of their least experienced locksmiths. He had some trouble unlocking the first set of door locks, he did open the security screen locks but couldn't get open the door lock on the door. He then proceeded to drill out both locks with a 1/2 drill bit. Left metal shavings everywhere, damaged the door and charged $350 for his service. Now they have had this happen to them 1 time before, which we called a locksmith and he came out and got in the same doors open in under 30 min. I have asked for a refund for at least half of the $350 dollars, Because I had to replace the locks. They wont even pay for the locks. I would never recommend this company to even make me a key. Please find another locksmith unless you want to be way over charged and then have to pay even more for damage cause by the m[censored] they send out to destroy your locks.

"Duplicate" not like the original key
Received my (alleged) "duplicate" key in the mail, for a 1996 GMC Sierra P.U. When the key would not work on either the door lock or the ignition, I compared to the original used at the KeyMe kiosk at a local Kroger. The KeyMe "duplicate" keys has a total of 14 raised spots or ridges, for lack of a better terminology, which do not exist on the original key. After putting both keys in a vice, side-by-side, I identified the raised spots, keeping the key from turning in the lock, and was able to carefully get rid of those high spots, or ridges, using a Dremel Moto-Tool and a tiny diamond grinding bit. Now, the KeyMe key works smoothing in the lock, but no thanks to the incredibly inaccurate technology in the KeyMe kiosk that formulated the geometry of what the duplicate key should look like. WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS "SERVICE". IT IS VASTLY OVER-PRICED AND DOES NOT WORK. FIND A COMPETENT LOCKSMITH/KEY SERVICE.

Didn’t make what I asked for
I needed a key made for my car. I was quoted on the phone $180 for the service fee, a key fob and programming. Guy came out to make the key using a key fob. Said he couldn’t make the key fob with the fob he had but could with another one but he didn’t have it on him but he made me a regular key without asking me first. Then he tried to get me to pay him $200 for the key(the key I didn’t ask for). Talked to his supervisor, Bar, he tried to sell me the regular key and a key fob for $270! Saying I was getting a good deal. I said no because I asked originally for a key fob not just a key. Then he said he’d charge me only $150 for the key and an extra $100 to have a key fob made on Monday or Tuesday. I agreed because I needed the key on Monday for work. The company is calling me a liar saying I never asked for a key fob. If that’s the case then why did the technician try making me a key fob in the beginning? Also, the key is bent and is hard to turn in the door and I have to push it hard into the ignition to start it. The lady who called me today not only called me a liar but tried to say I bent the key. This is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with, they are rude and unprofessional and I will let everyone I know not to do business with them. Don’t use this company or any of their kiosks to make keys.
Didn’t make what I asked for

Keys work on many unexpected things
I had a key made at a key me kiosk and it didn’t look very much like the original. I stopped by a relatives house on my way home and they key worked in their door. When I got home they key worked in many locks not just the one I needed a copy of. Makes me wonder how many thieves use these keys.

Slow Pay
I was asked to go out to a site the very same day the work request was posted to fix a problem. It has been 3 weeks and they haven't closed the work order approval to start the payment process all this for a (what they called a quick 5 min job that turned in to almost an hour) They have a no star review option.

I have ordered a number of keys from the KeyMe kiosk at Bed, Bath and Beyond in Glendale, AZ, and recently ordered four car key duplicates. About two weeks ago, I got into my car with one of those keys and then could not get it out of the ignition. I called KeyMe customer service and the customer service rep suggested I call one of their recommended locksmiths. I asked how the charge would be handled, and he didn't know, but he suggested that I go ahead and get the locksmith and then call the next day to find out about reimbursement.

Having no other choice, with the car running or the battery draining when the motor was turned off, I called the locksmith. He came out promptly, took about a half hour to remove the key and showed me how the three keys were inaccurately cut, comparing it to the new one he had cut for me and showing me the discrepancies of all three new keys. He charged me $204.

Next day, called customer service to find out about how I would be reimbursed and again, customer service rep seemed confused and said she would make out a form and send to "Corporate" and they would call me within 48 hours. I knew then I was in trouble and it's about twelve days later, no call.

So I will spend however long it takes today to find out how to get reimbursed for this. The keys cost $90 (oh and the kiosk really encourages you to make extra keys!). So I'm about $300 out.

Went to Menards to get a couple keys copied. They directed me to the KeyMe kiosk. Went through the procedure and the machine told me the keys would have to be mailed to me because they were "uncommon". They're not. One is a common Schlage and the other a common Pella. This is convenience? I should have just gone down to my neighborhood Ace.

Review: Keyme is not just a store front. They have an iPhone app which allows you get a duplicate key by means of a photo. They claim it is a secure way to get a copy. But how do they confirm that the party making a copy request is the orginal owner of the key? On Friday, Feb. **, 2015, I had someone gain entry to my house with a key they revealed they got with the Keyme app.

I am horrified. We have to deal with cyber security and now we a service provider which will make keys for anyone without confirmation of ownership.Desired Settlement: Discontinue provision of this application.
