In March of 2013, King Heating met with us in our home to estimate the cost of adding air conditioning to our home. We were currently running window or portable units and the cost was very expensive. The salesman Ralph assured us that using an air handling system would be efficient in our home, due to us having a boiler for heating and no duct work available. Although we were prepared to put in the duct work needed to install a forced air system, Ralph assured us we did not need to. So in April their team came and installed the air handling unit in our attic space. Beginning January 2014, we had water dripping from the duct work in all rooms. Service calls were made and several attempts to tell us that it was normal, told to keep our vents open, etc, the problem has persist for 5 years. In February 2015,we were remodeling our children's bedroom, full tear out to put in new insulation and windows, etc. We removed the ceiling and carefully moving the duct work, we had enough water to fill a large garbage can full and then some pour out of the duct work. All the insulation covering the duct work was soaked. When called, they did not seemed concerned and possibly did not believe, until they physically came and saw for themselves, and also received photos and video. After many attempts, to redo duct work, install dampers, and a heating system the water still persists. We have also re insulated the attic and brought up the R value to R49. Still I have water dripping from the vent as of November 2018. When called today I was told that it is an "internal issue with the house", "they have never had this problem with any other installs", "they have gone above and beyond", and "completed the work to the best of their capabilities". Not even concerned when I said I would be contacting my lawyer, Revdex.com, etc.

In regards to case ***, King Heating, Cooling and
Plumbing has done their due diligence to rectify any and all problems regarding
HVAC instillation and service work done at the *** residence (***
Ave. in Oak Forest). Our team of experts, with a combined 120 years of
experience in the industry, has gone to the *** residence on 13 different
occasions since the original installation date of 4/30/2013. Over the course of
5 years and 13 visits, King has spent thousands of dollars trying to make our
duct work compensate for the homeowners house issues. King has also made
recommendations for the homeowner to use a dehumidifier, which the homeowner
refuses to do. King had Home Energy Control, Inc. (a Revdex.com A+ rated company) come
to the *** residence for an estimate in which they found multiple issues
with the attic, (unrelated to our duct work) where our duct work is. Home
Energy Control, Inc. gave Mr./Mrs. a written proposal (which can be
provided, if needed) to fix the multiple problems they have with the attic, and
the customer chose not to move forward with the repairs, and still have not to
this day. King Heating, Cooling and Plumbing has installed hundreds of jobs
similar to and exactly like this with no problems at all. At King Heating,
Cooling and Plumbing, customer service/satisfaction is the foundation upon

I am rejecting this response because:

King Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing fails to recognize that before they came into our home in 2013, there was absolutely no duct work and no air handling unit. In 2009 we had completely renovated our home with the much anticipated delivery of now 9 year old twins.

We had previously installed all new energy efficient windows and doors. We also gutted walls and insulated them. We hired a roofing contractor that came in and installed vents and soffits to provide proper ventilation. This contractor also installed blown in insulation to provide an R49 value to the attic space. There were no "house issues" prior to King Heating installing the cooling system.

We have every document to every service call beginning on May 15, 2013. Beginning with the first due to the system being overcharged and to assess issues with the lack of proper CFMs being supplied to our back bedroom.Soon after it was discovered that during the 2015 remodel of this same back bedroom that we discovered the many installation issues that caused significant damage. We can provide all documentation, photos and video footage if needed.

I also had another HVAC company that is Revdex.com accredited with an A+ 5 star rating come to inspect my home on January 10, 2017. Stating that the duct work was not sealed correctly causing insulation to get wet and condensate, with the recommendations for repair. This documentation can be provided as well.

As for the proposal from Home Energy Control Inc. (HEC). The company was hired through King Heating. It is not currently Revdex.com accredited and SEC compliant. They currently have a 1 star rating. Also, it has been discovered that the employee that came to our house to perform the energy audit no longer is employed with HEC due to negligence. I have made phone calls and emails to the installation manager Bobby of King Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing that went without response. Although based off of the proposal from HEC we had another energy company come out on August 28, 2018. They performed an air sealing audit of our home. Based on those results they sealed all accessible ceiling and wall penetrations throughout our home. And also insulated, as stated in our complaint, our attic space with blown-in cellulose insulation to attain and R49 rating. Additionally they installed an 80CFM ventilation in the same room 3 feet away from the register that currently continues to drip with water.

When I called King Heating on November 13, 2018 to tell them that the ducts were still leaking. Their response was unfortunately very short and rude. The two managers Ken and Bob stated that there is nothing else they would do for us. I should have contacted Revdex.com after the initial installation for the way they left our home (e.g. holes, cuts, etc.) in our brand new ceiling. I now have water stains around every register in our ceilings.

Therefore we reject King Heating response and ask that they issue us a full refund, repair our ceilings, and remove the system completely from our home.

The main purpose of this complaint is to point out that even though all of the recommendations and fixes were performed by us the homeowner, at our own expense, to remedy the "house issues", the original issue remains. With this being said we decided to lodge a complaint with King Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing. This is not how a Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics recipient should conduct themselves. At this time all signs point to issues with the Mechanical installation and not the environment in which the system is installed.

King Heating, Cooling and Plumbing is currently working with Mr./Mrs. to resolve any and all issues regarding Case ***. King has hired an independent, (Revdex.com A+) 5 star rated insulation contractor who is in the process of evaluating the *** home to find a solution. We will continue to keep all parties that are involved updated on any and all developments.

Jeremy performed yearly maintenance on our vac. he was courteous and clean. was thorough and timely. I would recommend his service.

Shawn and his colleague installed our new ac. They were very professional and polite. They answered all our questions clearly and courteously, and made sure to explain exactly what they had done. I think these gentlemen are a credit to King and are why I would not hesitate to recommend King to family and friends.

I found Andrew to be very informative and he repaired my AC unit fairly quickly. He also gave me some suggestions about my current filter usage and future changes to both my AC and furnace units.

Jeremy *. is a true professional, he arrives on time, and will even call you in advance , when he is on his way. I was so impressed with Jeremy when he reconditioned my commercial air and heating unit. That when my next issue came up with one of my Rental Units, I called King Heating, and asked for Jeremy *. Specifically !! And he did Not disappoint !!!

Very knowledgeable... saved us from getting potentially very sick..detected the furnace was slowly leaking carbon monoxide..just recently our purchased this home and shut it off. Boy was I happy.. have two children at home..really appreciate his expertise and ultimately helped me/my family stay save in our home. He stayed with me while I inform my home warranty and made sure if I had any question to please call him..very professional and seemed very caring about my situation, stars for sure..

This is to commend "Jonathan", the King Heating and Cooling technician who came out to do the $39 *** furnace inspection at my home today. He greatly exceeded every expectation that I had for good, thorough and efficient service!
He arrived and went right to work. My home is in a state of remodeling, dust everywhere and most of my floor is covered with drop cloth or other protection; yet, he still put covers over his shoes as he entered my home. He inspected the furnace, tubing and vents, checked for harmful gases, identified potential issues, investigated them, communicated with me and showed me everything that he was doing every step of the way. He doubled checked his theory and was extremely thorough, but efficient in determining the source of the issue and potential remedy.
He ended his visit with the same gracious demeanor and friendly smile that he displayed throughout the entire visit. He made me genuinely feel as though it was actually his pleasure to inspect my furnace. Wow!
There is future work that will need to be done involving my venting system. He has given his company the upper hand in getting the work that must be done.
I hope that this young man will be highly commended and compensated for his work and work ethic.

The unit installer, Terry ***, who came to our home was one of the friendliest and efficient service men we have had, He quickly got to work to remove the old humidifier and install our new one . He finished and had it working immediately all within an hour. We appreciate his manner and the proficiency of his work.

King & Raymond was very helpful to get our water heater working again. Now we can have hot water showers. Anyone looking for a good reputable company call King and ask for Raymond. Thanks

King is a very caring business - from the phone reps to the technicians. We’ve used them for years and won’t use anyone else. Work is completed expertly and professionally, and it’s always reasonably priced. Jeremy recently completed a service call for us, and he was so thorough and patient with us - and he really knew his “stuff” - a perfect fit for King! This company has our complete confidence, and I would recommend it to anyone needing air, heat or plumbing service.

My furnace was serviced by Jonathan. He was very professional and provided great service also explaining the condition of my unit and any recommendations.

Corey was at my home on 10/31 to get system ready for winter season. His professionalism and attitude were very refreshing. He took the time to explain many details that I was not aware of.
