I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: The people from Kiwi Energy come to my door, state that they are not trying to switch my utility provider only to give me a refund that I am entitled to. When I asked if the company that provides my utility service will change I was told no, which is a false hood. They try to make it seem like nothing will change with my service but in reality I will be paying their company instead of [redacted] or [redacted]. Furthermore I have told representatives from this company on repeated occasions that I am not interested in their services , and to never knock on my door again. All these requests have been ignored. The persons are quite aggressive with their tactics, and even after telling them of my lack of interest, and closing the door, they would continue to knock on my door. This is beginning to border on harassment.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is that no one from this company ever contacts me again.

Review: [redacted] #[redacted] a representative for kiwi energy came to my home on November *, 2014, he had my son sign an application for natural gas and electric service. My son is a minor and has a mild touch of autism and not to mention that he is not the person responsible for any bills in this home. I did not authorize this at any moment I have contact my utility companies to not honor this application. I am contacting you because this is not good business practices. He had my son get him my utility bills and completed this application with the information from mybills. I called the number he left on this application and left him amessage that this application is not valid and that he better cancel this application. On the application there are initials which state that he is 18 years and older and the representative initialed it my son did not. He con him into telling him that I will be reimbursed. I did not authorize any part of this agreement. This has to be illegal and Fraudulent. Sincerely,

Review: Kiwi Energy persistently sends sales reps to the address and pressures us to change energy providers. They misrepresent themselves as [redacted] associates & call in stating they are from [redacted]. They misled senior citizens into tricky sales. They stated to my father that he was being charge 5 per cent New Jersey taxes cause [redacted] had him listed as living in New Jersey. But he receives his [redacted] bill at his address, which is in NYC. I called [redacted] and they stated all the information Kiwi Energy stated is FALSE. Sales reps want to view bills to place you as a Kiwi Energy customer, once they get your account number your trapped. They use high pressure sales tactics and spread false information.Desired Settlement: Stop sending sales reps to my address. Do not knock on my door, call or mail us advertising materials. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Greece, NY. A representative came to my door on a SATURDAY over Labor Day weekend and asked to see my [redacted] bill!!! Told the person I was not about to do that. Oh yes she had a name tag from KIWI ENERGY and a number to call to verify but even this felt suspicious to me! She seemed surprised by this. (Really?) And secondly If this company IS legit, this is a very poor business practice. No one should ever supply a door to door sales person with any kind of account information!!!

Kiwi energy rep came to me that I have a out of state supplier and Energy is the local supply and I'm supposed to sign up with Kiwi energy for Less charge on the bill their rates are good and offer is good but I didn't like the part that the representative was present in my their rates are good and offer is good but I didn't like the part that the representative was present like [redacted]

Review: I requested to be unenrolled from the company and the program they provide. It was done immediately and now I recieve a letter form my energy company that THE COMPANY contacted them and reenrolled me without my consent. This is not the first time that Kiwi Energy has made unauthorized claims to accounts. I would like to be placed on a DO NOT CONTACT list for ALL utility services. Calls are not effective and my requests are constantly ignored.Desired Settlement: I would like to be placed on a DO NOT CONTACT list for ALL utility services. Calls are not effective and my requests are constantly ignored.

Business

Response:

Please note that the enrollment letter was sent you in error, you are going to receive another letter asking you to disregard the enrollment notification. You will not be switched to Kiwi Energy. As a courtesy we have added your contact information to our Do Not Contact List. We are truly sorry for this inconvenience.

Review: This company claimed to have better prices. They gave me a speech on how my gas/energy bill would reduce and instead my bill doubled.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the difference in my bill and I want to IMMEDIATELY freeze my account with them so I can be able to switch to a better supplier.

Business

Response:

Our internal audit confirms that the customer has agreed to enroll with Kiwi Energy for monthly variable rate service. Under this type of service, the customer's price each month is modified to reflect the current market costs associated with with electricity commodity service. Thus, the price charged each month for electricity used in February, for example, reflects the actual market costs experienced in February. On 02/**the customer has called to complain about higher energy costs, as a courtesy Kiwi Energy has applied preferred variable loyalty rate which is subject to the same rules. Kiwi Energy understands the customer's frustration with the changing market rates and as a courtesy Kiwi Energy will issue an additional adjustment check in the amount $27.10.

We regret that customer's recent experience with Kiwi Energy was a negative one. We work very hard to ensure that our sales and customer service teams adhere to high standards of quality, courtesy and professionalism. We appreciate the feedback and we hope the adjustment offered will resolve the current complaint.

Sincerely,

Review: Two women came to my door in the early evening (after business hours) stating they wanted to see my [redacted]/electric bill to 'process a rebate' that I was entitled to. They said they were with kiwi energy company and made it sound as if they were already supplying my electricity in conjunction with [redacted]. One of them took my name, phone #, and [redacted] account number. I asked to take a picture of the ID of the woman taking down my information (Shanon) and she said "I do not authorize that." At that point I became suspicious and asked them to leave.

I called [redacted] the next morning to inquire about what had happened and they said my power is coming through [redacted] at present but there are other independent energy supply companies (ESCO's) including Kiwi who can potentially become my power supplier. It seems these women were there to sign me up / switch me over from [redacted] as my power supplier to Kiwi as my power supplier ([redacted] would still be involved supplying the meters/wiring/hardware but the actual power would come on a seperate page of my bill and would be from this indepenent ESCO called Kiwi).

This was not made at all clear and I have no desire to change anything about the way my power is provided.

I asked [redacted] what precautions should be taken and they put a block on my account so that no changes can be made without my removing the block.

This is a very misleading tactic. It leaves me worried about what this company will do with the information they collected (name, address, phone #, information from [redacted] bill including account number).

I want to have it on the record I did not and do not agree to any kind of involvement with this company.Desired Settlement: Stop deceptive door to door advertising

Make sure my information is erased from your records

Do not contact me again

Business

Response:

We are sorry to hear about your experience with the sales representatives.

Based on the information provided, we have established that your utility

account was not used to enroll with Kiwi Energy. We would like to point out that Kiwi Energy

cannot accept an enrollment without completed third party recorded

verification. At the end of the sales

presentation, the customer will receive a call for an independent verifier, who

will confirm several key points of service. If at any point of the verification

process the customer does not agree with one of the statements/questions, the

enrollment will be cancelled. Although

our Quality Assurance team did not identify any other negative feedback but

both agents were retrained and are being monitored for compliance. On behalf of Kiwi Energy team please accept our sincere

apology for any inconvenience this situation may have caused.

Review: On Friday , September **, 2015, 2 o'clock p.m., a Kiwi energy representative named eric m[redacted] rep Id # [redacted] ,of that company and not [redacted], the default nyc electricity company ,knocked on my door, upon answering he asked if I was aware of a notice on my [redacted] bill that there might be savings I am passing up on. He asked to see the bill, I thought he was sent by [redacted] being that he was interested in the bill. I allowed him to see the bill so he could show me the notice. He then told me he was from kiwi energy and that with the market being deregulated there are ways to save money that I wasn't aware of , that their market price rate was going to be lower than the default nyc electricity company market price rate because kiwi services brooklyn which is a closer source according to him and [redacted] is far away and that's why the market price rate is so high, which I don't think is true. He said he was trying to get everyone switched over to [redacted] from kiwi in the entire building I live in, which made me think there was only one company available to service brooklyn. I had to ask a few more questions to figure out they weren't the only company servicing gas and electricity to brooklyn as an esco. At this point I guess the representative was misinformed on what he was saying but he then made the mistake of promising me a rate of 5.5cents per kWh to a 9.5 cents per kWh while the paper agreement said variable rate so I still figured their variable rate was not so bad but upon further thinking I believe I was not informed enough on the competitive rates of other escos to make this decision, I was not even aware of the fixed rate option. the representative discussed electricity but not gas and he changed the gas without giving me an estimate on those rates, leading me to believe the gas price might be higher than the electricity. Either way , the representative gave estimates he promised me to get for an indefinite time that he made up because he doesn't know what the variable market price rate will be he is just trying to promise a price lower than [redacted]'s current market price rate. I find this practice of promising a fixed rate, which he wrote down on my bill and then saying it was variable later, very dishonest. I believe my choice needs to be more informed and I will look into which esco can be right for me by comparing rates and not by having a representative give misleading and dishonest information. Therefore, I wish to cancel and terminate my service with kiwi energy ny llc. The representative also asked for me to say he was not there when the third party called but did not leave my home and had a script sheet he wanted me to read along and say yes to every question . I thought this was a common practice and it would speed the process but upon reading into this I realize this is an aggressive tactic to ensure the customer will agree all the way through. Please Revdex.com address the fact this company uses representatives that are consistently dishonest even though the company may be honest in it's terms, people are confused by their representatives due to misinformation, aggressive tactics and Good old fashioned lying. Please once again I want to cancel any service or agreement I may have signed. I will mail , call and do everything possible to terminate before the 3 day cancellation window which today Is day 1.Desired Settlement: Assist in cancellation, If not possible then have company contact me to cancel my service agreement with kiwi energy ny llc. Today is day 1 of my 3 day cancellation window so I am responding in a timely fashion and would appreciate this matter be resolved before the deadline.

Response:

Kiwi Energy has received the above referenced complaint and appreciates the opportunity to respond. As requested customer’s enrollment with Kiwi Energy has been cancelled. We would like to point out that every new customer MUST complete a very thorough verification process; at the point of sale the customer will have to complete recorded third party verification where the customer will be provided with questions/statements regarding rates, our affiliation and other key terms of service. If at any point during theverification call the customer is unsure or does not agree, the third party verification agent will cancel the enrollment. In this case the customer has agreed to all key points of service, we also understand that choosing an energy supplier has to be clear process therefore the agent was pulled back and retrained. To ensure compliance, our quality assurance team is monitoring this agent.

Review: An agent was standing in my hallway, outside my door as I came home from work. He at first told me that there was an error with my [redacted] bill and that I was owed money back. He then asked to see my [redacted] bill so he could correct the error. He then asked me to fill out some kind of reimbursement form. I stopped there. Something seemed fishy. If this guy was truly correcting a billing error, shouldn't he have my information? With every step, he tried to extract new information from me, my [redacted] account, my name, my address. I told him I needed to think this over before I went any further. He gave me his card with his name and number barely legible, though it says something like [redacted], agent number [redacted]. I [redacted] this when I stepped in my door (luckily I didn't let this charlatan in, as he had requested) and found that others were given this same false sales lead, which is basically intended to get me to switch to [redacted]. Beyond fraudulent practices. This business should be warned not to do this, and be shut down if this happens again. Really rubbed me the wrong way.Desired Settlement: I would like a [redacted] to call me at ###-###-#### to apologize for the company's shady sales representative and to promise never to send one to my building again. If I do see one in my building I will call the police.

Business

Response:

We are sorry to hear about your experience with the sales representative, rest assured that we have taken appropriate steps to address your concerns. Additionally, your information was added to our Do Not Contact list. The sales representative was retained and will be closely monitored by our quality assurance team. To clarify; [redacted] offers 100% renewable electricity (monthly variable rate) and we reward our customers with 5% CashBack (based on total supply costs) payable after 12 consecutive billing cycles or 7% Retail Gift Card Rewards payable as soon as $25 has been accumulated (initial reward) and $50 thereafter. Once again, we are really sorry for any inconvenience this situation may have caused and we appreciate your feedback.

Review: Kiwi Energy advertised providing utility supply service at a lower rate than that of the utility provider ([redacted]), which would have resulted in lower utility bills. Contrary to what I was told, my utility bills were increased and upon further inspection, I discovered a a new item titled "KIWI ENERGY Supply Charges" in the Account Summary section of several bills with an average amount of $87.00! The service was not what they claimed it would be, in fact, it was the exact opposite.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the charges.

Business

Response:

Our enrollment records confirm that the customer has enrolled with Kiwi Energy for monthly variable rate service. Under this type of service, the customer’s price each month is adjusted to reflect the current market costs associated with the commodity. Thus the prices charged by Kiwi Energy were consistent with current market conditions and costs. Our review process confirms that in addition to the application the customer has alsocompleted a recorded third party enrollment verification. During the verification call, the customer has agreed to a variable rate service and has accepted all other key points of service. A cancellation request has been received and processed for this account. As a onetime courtesy customer’s gas invoice will be re-rated based on 0.39 cents per therm. Kiwi Energy reserves up to 30 days for check processing and delivery.

Review: I signed up with Kiwi Energy over the summer(2014). Didn't really have an issue with my bill until Dec 2014. Here it is March 2015 and my bill just came in and they are charging me .21 cents a therm, when [redacted] is only charging .08 cents a therm. When I signed up with Kiwi they promised to be lower or comparable to the energy company([redacted]). When I spoke to [redacted] today, they told me I paid over 437.00 more for this bill that is due in March than I would of paid with them. My electric bill alone this month with KIWI is $906.00. This is robbery. Now I am going to go back because my last 3 bills have been crazy high.Desired Settlement: I would like for KIWI to adjust the last 3 or 4 bills to a comparable rate to the utility company([redacted]) that was promised. 21 cents per therm is not comparable to 8 cents to therm.

Business

Response:

Kiwi Energy has received the above referenced complaint and appreciates the opportunity to respond. In July of 2014 the customer has enrolled with Kiwi Energy for variable rate service. Under this type of service, the customer’s price each month is adjusted to reflect the current market costs associated with the commodity. Thus the prices charged by Kiwi Energy were consistent with current market conditions and costs. Kiwi Energy did not provide any guarantee of savings in its offering to the customer, or in any way guarantee that its rate would be lower than the utility. Choosing an energy supplier should be an easy and transparent process, that’s why at Kiwi Energy every new customer must complete an independent verification process. During the verification call the customer must confirm his/her authorization to switch to Kiwi Energy. All other key points of service including statement about variable rate service also requires customer verbal confirmation. As per customer’s request the account has been cancelled, additionally Kiwi Energy has reached out to the customer to discuss billing. A one-time adjustment was approved to assist the customer with increasedenergy costs.

Review: On September *, 2014, a sales representative from Kiwi Energy came to my door in the later afternoon. He said he was "from the City," flashed a letter on City of Buffalo letterhead, and told me that, "We want to give you a refund since you've been operating under old utility codes." He proceeded to gather information about my gas and electric supplier and estimated usage. Only at the very end did he tell me that the only way to receive this alleged "refund" was to switch my energy suppliers to Kiwi Energy. (He also failed to mention that I would have to use them as my supplier for over 12 months before I would see any "refund" at all.)

When I informed him that I was NOT interested in changing my supplier, he would not leave. It got to the point where I had to allow him to call in the change just to get him to go away.

On September *, I immediately called to cancel Kiwi energy as my supplier.

As of November *, I am still listed on Kiwi Energy's books as being supplied by them for my gas utility. The representative I spoke with today said that there was a "communication issue" between Kiwi Energy and National Fuel that caused my account to remain open despite being cancelled.

I am not happy with the misrepresentation of the company by their sales representative, nor am I pleased with the fact that I have to have them listed as my supplier, even for one billing cycle.Desired Settlement: I would like my gas and electric accounts returned to my original suppliers. While I would prefer not to have to pay the bill for the cycle at all, as my "contract" was obtained fraudulently, I know that is not likely to be possible.

Business

Response:

Kiwi Energy has received the above referenced complaint and appreciates the opportunity to respond. Per customer request, account cancellation was processed for both gas and electricity, both accounts are closed and the customer was not billed by Kiwi Energy. As a courtesy, customer contact information was added to our Do Not Contact list. We are sorry to hear that the experience with the sales representative wasn't a pleasant one. Concerns raised have been properly addressed with the sales agent and our quality assurance team is monitoring agent's compliance. If you have any additional comments or concerns please feel free to contact [redacted], [redacted] at ###-###-####.Sincerely, Kiwi Energy Team

Review: I was told that my bill/charges for services, would not go over $19 each month and that I would receive 50% or greater after 3 months of service, as a cash back service if I sign up for their services.

I not only have not received any cashback, but also my bills are 5 times greater than they ever were and I am being charged as much or more than the electricity I am receiving.Desired Settlement: that the charges that are other than the charges for the electricity be returned to me; that the agreement I was told be honored.

Business

Response:

Kiwi Energy has verified the enrollment records for this customer. Our records show that the customer has completed third party voice verification where the customer has agreed to a variable price plan and 5% Cash Back via our loyalty program. During the recorded verification process the customer was informed that 5% Cash Back will be paid after completing 12 billing cycles and not sooner. The customer has accepted all key points of service.

Kiwi Energy did not provide any guarantee of savings in its offering to the customer, or in any way guarantee that its rate would be lower than the utility rate. Kiwi Energy understands that choosing an energy supply it’s not an easy process. As a courtesy, Kiwi Energy will adjust one third of the supply costs during the 06/**/14 to 07/**/14 billing period.

Review: Cancelled contract well within stipulated time period with written notice.

Called salesman directly the same day that it was signed to inform him that we are cancelling the contract and he acknowledged our intent.

Called company directly to inform them that we are cancelled the contract and they confirmed that the contract was cancelled.

Received notice from our energy provider, National Grid on 9/**/13 that our energy purchasing will be transferred to Kiwi Energy Inc.

We immediately stopped that attempt by Kiwi Energy to transfer our gas service and I called Kiwi again and they confirmed that the contract was cancelled and said "not to worry about it"

We received another notice from National Grid on Saturday 12/[redacted]/13 that Kiwi is making another attempt to transfer our gas service to them.Desired Settlement: Stop all current and future attempts to transfer our service to Kiwi Energy! THE CONTRACT WITH KIWI WAS CANCELLED!!!!

Review: The sales guy knocked on the door several times and carries around a sample [redacted] bill. Once you answer the door, he starts telling you about the graph for electric usage should be in color and asks to see your bill. I don't have a bill handy, so he says pull it up on the phone, then it doesn't come up on the phone, so then he keeps being persistent about getting a copy of the bill, so he asks if he can come in while I look it up on the computer. I look it up, and no surprise the graph is NOT in color, so then he says he needs to do a switch. I'm told that he just needs to verify the switch to "[redacted]" and at no time until it was too late, did I realize that I was being scammed. They force you to do a verbal "yes" to all of their answers, but by that time it's too late and the lady on the other end is reading so fast, you don't even know what she is saying. Their customer service is conveniently closed as well to immediately cancel the processing of this service.Desired Settlement: This needs to be stopped. I want my service with Kiwi canceled and switched back to [redacted] immediately! If they were actually selling a legit product there would be no need for these tactics.

Business

Response:

Kiwi Energy is a New York based Energy Service Company with a focus on providing environmentally conscious products. In efforts to guarantee transparency during enrollment, each new customer has to complete a third party recorded enrollment verification. During the verification process each customer must confirm full understanding of all key points of service otherwise the enrollment will not be processed. At the point of sale the customer will also receive a copy of the terms and conditions, another copy will be mailed to the customer’s address. Our records confirm that this enrollment with Kiwi Energy has been cancelled and customer’s contact information was added to our Do Not Contact list. All records pertaining customer’s enrollment with Kiwi Energy including the recorded third party enrollment verification will be reviewed by our compliance team. Additionally our Quality Assurance manager is reviewing performance of the sales representative in question.Kiwi Energy would like to apologize for any incontinence this situation may have caused.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. They are correct that I had to verbally agree to terms over the phone and it appears this was just an issue with one sales person.

Sincerely,

Review: On October [redacted] at approximately 4 pm, a man named [redacted] with a New Jersey State driver's license claimed to be an agent with Kiwi Energy (Agent ID: [redacted]). He asked me if I was an account holder with National Grid. He wanted for me to show him a copy of my electric bill so that he could have the account number. He did not have the phone number for National Grid and said he'd call his "boss" for the number. He called National Grid assuring me of a "shortcut" to get a hold of someone on the customer service side. He did this by calling National Grid on my behalf and stated that he was not a current customer. Once he handed his "company" cell phone over to me (which was on speaker) he told me to not alert the National Grid service person that he was also on the line (in this case-able to hear my information). While I went through the process of getting my account number, he started to check boxes on a form called "Statement of Understanding" which was lettered to the prospective customer (I was not informed of the nature of this agreement) and continued to fill out my information under the statement, "I confirm that I have read and understood the above information." I did not provide a signature.

After Providing [redacted] with my account number, he contacted a Kiwi Energy associate and put me on the line with her. She failed to introduce herself. I asked to speak to one of her supervisors and she did not cooperate.

This experience was unpleasant, a waste of time, and an un-welcomed solicitation outside my front door. I have no interest in Kiwi Energy, and will deny any and all voluntary participation in its programs, memberships, rewards programs, etc. I do not wish to be contacted by Kiwi Energy in the future unless it involves the removal of my personal information from its databases.Desired Settlement: I wish to no longer have any interactions with Kiwi Energy Sales associates or with Kiwi Energy as an entity. Please remove my information from your databases.

Business

Response:

We are sorry to hear that your experience with Kiwi Energy sales representative wasn’t a pleasant one. As requested we have added your information to our Do Not Contact list. Based on your feedback we have provided additional training to the sales agent in question and we are monitoring progress. Once again thank you for your comments, Kiwi Energy appreciates your feedback.

Review: Someone came to my door demanding to see my gas and electric bills, claiming that there was a building-wide problem with [redacted] services he needed to resolve. He then pointed out some nonsense on my bill suggesting that I was being overcharged on a technicality and he needed me to fill out some forms to resolve it. At no time did he say h was from an outside supplier and was looking to get me to switch energy providers. He was pushy, insistent, and told me to lie to the person who would call me from kiwi energy and say he had left the building when he has not--he wanted me to take the phone call right in front of him. I refused to do that. When the call came I told the woman what had just happened, and answered no to all of her questions--I was very clear in saying that I DID NOT want to switch providers, and told her that the sales person at my door had been duplicitous and a bully. We ended the conversation with my not switching to KIWI. Then today I get a slip in the mail congratulating me on switching to KIWI ENERGY NY LLC. I immediately went online and switched providers for my electric. I want confirmation that I am NOT a KIWI customer on ANY platform. This is no way to do business--the salespeople lie and harass to secure sales, even instructing potential customers to lie to KIWI employees and use intimidation tactics to get potential customers to comply.Desired Settlement: Ensure that I am in no way a Kiwi customer, as I never agreed to be one. Review your sales tactics, as they are disgusting.

Business
