Review: THIS COMPANY ILLEGALLY SIGNED US UP FOR THEIR GAS SERVICES. WE DID NOT AGREE TO SWITCH FROM [redacted]. WE JUST CALLED [redacted] TO STOP ALL ACTIVITY FROM KIWI. WE IN FACT TOLD THE PERSON AT THE DOOR TO GO AWAY AND LEAVE US ALONE. UNKNOWINGLY, THEY TOOK A BILL FROM AN ELDERLY MAN, MY HUSBAND, AND SIGNED US UP ANYWAY. IN FACT THEY EVEN GOT HIS NAME WRONG - HIS NAME IS [redacted], NOT [redacted]. WE DO NOT WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH KIWI. IF WE SEE THIS REPRESENTATIVE AT OUR HOUSE EVER AGAIN WE ARE CALLING THE POLICE. WE CAN'T EVEN CONTACT KIWI TODAY BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE HOURS ON A SATURDAY. THEY ASSIGNED US WITH CR [redacted].Desired Settlement: CANCEL OUR CONTRACT AND LEAVE US ALONE.

Kiwi Energy received the above referenced complaint and appreciates the opportunity to respond. As requested, the enrollment has been cancelled and the customer will not be billed by Kiwi Energy. We have also removed the customer information from our marketing lists.

In regards to the unauthorized enrollment, Kiwi Energy is currently investigating this incident. Although this agent is no longer with our organization, however our quality assurance team is conducting a thorough review of agent’s performance. Since this incident, our management team has authorized additional resources to strengthen our training and quality assurance efforts.

Review: Last night ( Wednesday February 24 after 8pm ) a sales representative from Kiwi Energy came to my house and introduced herself as a representative of [redacted], stating that prices were up because of the energy suppliers, so she wanted to see my bill. She then explained that my prices were to high and told me about Kiwi Energy, she then told me she work there and that with her service I could get prices for gas and electric as low as $ 18.00 a month.

Then she continued talking and talking and talking and everything happened so fast, I couldn't even have the time to think about this when she already had the papers filled. Next day (today) I tried to call them to the number they gave me on the statement but I couldn't get through.

The Sales rep didn't mention anything about three days to cancel this enrollment, so I just read that part on the statement today, also she made a "mistake" on the date on the enrollment, she wrote that I enrolled on Feb **, but that is a lie, it was yesterday Feb [redacted]. Of course she did this on purpose so It would be too late for me to cancel.

This was very dishonest from this company and all happened to fast. This has to be illegal.Desired Settlement: I want this contract canceled as of today for misrepresentation and misleading. And I want this cancellation confirmed in writing or email.

Kiwi Energy apologizes for the inconvenience. Our records show that on 03/**/16 during a routine quality assurance call per customer’s request the enrollment with Kiwi Energy was cancelled. Based on customer’s feedback, it appears that the sales representative did not properly communicate about our services. To prevent misinformation and provide customers with transparency during enrollment, at the point of sale customers must complete third party recorded verification call. During the call, customers must acknowledge their understanding of key points of service, if the customer is unclear or does not want to move forward, the enrollment is cancelled. Further enrollment review concludes that the customer completed the third party recorded verification and agreed to all main points of service. The customer also received a copy of the terms and conditions of service and another copy was mailed to the address on file. This account is now closed.

Review: On September **2013, a salesman named [redacted]came to my door and stated that by signing up with Kiwi energy I would save every month on my electric bill. He told me worst case I would save 5% and I would receive that in cash back rewards. The first two months there was no savings compared to con Edison. The third month they charge me 30% more than con Edison. I contacted Kiwi Energy and they told me that con Edison's new rate would be 48 cents per therm. I contacted con Edison and they told me that was not true. That would be a 300% increase and there would be outrage.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the amount of money it cost me with this esco company

Review: A sales person came to my door, I did not buzz them into my building, they knocked directly on my front door. Already this made me feel unsafe. They identified themselves as part of an ENSCO contracted by [redacted]. I asked if he was selling something, and he said no, he wanted to save me money. He spoke extremely quickly and evasively, refusing to answer my questions straight on and refusing to let me leave when I was in the middle of something important. He tried to come into my house and talk to me there, told me the rest of my building was switching over, and when I said I didn't have copies of my bills, he said to go find them, et cetera. I felt extremely pressured and coerced the whole time. When I gave him a copy of my bills he had me call the company and then they finally, when I asked, identified themselves as Kiwi Energy and not a part of [redacted]. I did not confirm that I wanted to sign up for this service but after reading the other complaints I am concerned that I have been signed up anyway without my permission, or that this company now has my information and will use it in some other way. I want the company to confirm that I have not been signed up for anything, and I do not want to be contacted ever again. Furthermore, I believe that this company should cease to send fast-talking conmen door to door trying to coerce people into signing up for their services without saying honestly what they are doing or that they are selling something, and they are not authorized by [redacted] to come to private residences and try and get people to buy their services.Desired Settlement: I want this service canceled immediately for misrepresentation and coercion, and I want not to be contacted again by people advertising or selling these services. They misrepresented themselves to me and made me feel threatened and uncomfortable. They should be identifying themselves as Kiwi Energy, not as [redacted]. I should not be pressured into signing up for something I don't want by a coercive sales representative.

The verification agent instructed the customer that the enrollment with Kiwi Energy will not go forward. I had a representative come to my home and pose for [redacted]. He proceeded to confuse me, promised rebates and lower prices. Also, the representative asked me to lie on the phone and say that he left the house whereas in fact her was still there. The opposite happened. My bill is higher than ever. I am switching to a different provided ASAP.

Review: A representative of kiwi energy aggressively approached my apartment with knocking and ringing at my door for one to two hours. A friend staying with me at the time and allowed the lady representative in. I saw her and said I didn't want anything to do with it. The lady representative asked for my personal account information from him and had him forge my signature and fill out paperwork that clearly was not his to do so. Although the paperwork was incomplete and forged Kiwi energy still put the additional payments onto my electric bill even after I contacted the representative and kiwi energy with no response back explaining the situation. I am still waiting to get this awful "company" to get off of my bills even though I didn't sign or give any information. the person staying with me gave her a [redacted] bill from my refrigerator and she filled out the form with it and had him sign and forge my initials.Desired Settlement: I expect a letter, email and phone call proclaiming their fault in the situation and have all my personal information completely expunged from their data base. As well as a full refund for all charges present or otherwise to my account. ALL of which was without my consent what so ever.

At Kiwi Energy we understand that choosing an energy supplier should be transparent and easy to understand process. That is why we provide our customers with several opportunities to review the enrollment. At the point of sale the customer has to complete third party enrollment verification, during the verification call the customer has to verbally endorse his/her understanding of the key points of service. A few days after the enrollment a welcome package which includes terms and conditions of service is sent to the customer’s address on file. Account audit confirms that the third party verification has been accepted and on 2/**/15 a welcome letter including terms and conditions was sent to the address on file. Another letter describing our loyalty program was mailed on 3/**/15. In regards to the sales representative, customer’s feedback was sent our quality assurance team for further review. Based on customer’s statements, it appears that another household member has authorized the switch. As requested, the enrollment with Kiwi Energy has been cancelled and a one-time courtesy adjustment has been applied, Kiwi Energy reserves up to 30 days for processing. Customer’s contact information was added to our Do Not Contact list.

Review: Kiwi is being billing me for gas and Electricity supply for 2 years at a double rate of the one available by [redacted] and [redacted] . They committed to provide this services at lower cost than the one being paid at the origin of contract to those [redacted] and [redacted]... my investigation shows that im being bill double the rate and this year alone it cost me over 800.00 on over charges and Kiwi is refusing to refund... will refer to district attorneys office and investigation will be initiated..Desired Settlement: Kiwi must refund any amounts billed over the current market price charged by [redacted] and [redacted]

At Kiwi Energy we understand that choosing an energy supplier is an important process. Before a new enrollment is accepted (in addition to written materials) customers have to complete recorded third party verification call. During the enrollment verification call customers must agree to all key points of service including a statement about our monthly variable rate service. Shortly after the enrollment is accepted, customers receive our welcome letter which includes another copy of the terms and conditions of service, cancellation policy, consumer bill of rights and other information about Kiwi Energy products and services.As noted, the customer agreed to enroll with Kiwi Energy for monthly variable rate service. Under this type of service, the customer’s price each month is adjusted to reflect the current market costs associated with the commodity. Thus, the price charged for electricity used in January, for example, reflects the actual market costs experienced in January. This has been well documented (See, Case [redacted] – [redacted] d/b/a [redacted] for Waiver of Tariff Rule 46.3.2, Order Granting Request For Waiver, issued January **, 2014) as the cost of natural gas has increased significantly due to a variety of market factors which Kiwi Energy has no control over. Thus the prices charged by Kiwi Energy were consistent with current market conditions and costs.Kiwi Energy is working directly with the customer to resolve this dispute.

Review: A man came into the apartment building (not sure how he did that in the first place) and rang my doorbell claiming to represent [redacted] of New York. The man asked to see my Power and Natural Gas bill to, in his words, "address an issue with my billing".

The salesman:

-entered a private building without ringing the outside doorbell (gaining illegal, unwanted access to the building)

-misrepresented himself as a [redacted] employee when he is actually a Kiwi Energy ESCO salesman

-lied about [redacted] trying to get in touch with me regarding an "issue with my billing" while maintaining himself as a rep for [redacted]

-indicated that I needed to change my ESCO service to Kiwi Energy out of necessity

After he asked to see my personal bills, it became clear to me that his entire presence was a scam and immediately removed him from my apartment.Desired Settlement: I want Kiwi Energy to be sanctioned for greedy, deceptive sales tactics. This person entered the premises without permission and proceeded to falsely represent himself as [redacted] employee to deceptively con me into changing my energy billing.

Review: A representative came to my door, [redacted]. She flashed a badge and said she is following the ** state mandatory enrollment into local energy companies with. She said she let me to believe she was with [redacted]. She then insisted I give her a copy of both my [redacted] bill and [redacted] bill. She said this was mandatory and she was going through the building getting everyone switched over. She then inappropriately asked to enter my home. She told me that this was MANDATORY by the state of**.

She started enrolling me in something she said was mandatory. Little did I know, she was signing me up for a different energy company. She didn't explain anything that was being done and had me sign a contract. I realized that she purposefully folded the contract over the billing information. Furthermore, she put me on the phone with the "company" and every time she spoke she muted herself so she would not be recorded.

I am extremely FURIOUS for being deceived. I can only imagine how many of the poor people in my building were mislead as well.Desired Settlement: I would like IMMEDIATE cancellation of the contract. and to be notified immediately by the company.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], it took them this long to "cancel" my account, which I actually was able to do myself because they took too long. I still received at least 5 phone calls from the company not knowing I had cancelled my account. The company should definitely be audited further. as this representative did this to the entire building which is full of alot of elderly people.

A representative came to my home, 8pm, asking to see a copy of both my light and gas bills to verify a specific code from each and indicated that she was there to assist me in getting service delivery charges eliminated from my bill as well as get me a rebate check for overcharges. She went through her ritual with an individual on the phone who then called me when the representative left my home to verify that I was the account holder and to ensure me that I would get a rebate check in the mail. Her final statement to me was "Welcome to Kiwi Energy". I was not told, even once, by the initial representative that her ultimate goal was to have me sign up to switch energy serivce companies. I tried reaching out to Kiwi Energy myself via the toll free number provided and have not yet been able to reach anyone. Since this occurred last night, I am well within the 3 day window to have this transaction cancelled and would like for it to be.

Review: A representative from kiwi [redacted] came to my door on Nov ** 2014. He make his presentation of his company that he represents he compare his company rate and the rate that I was receiving and their rate was cheaper. So I decided to join their services. I ask him if they will pay my cancelation fee for my other supplier he said yes. So he went and completed the pay work. He told me that he will contact customer service for me and before he leave I ask him again and he said that someone will contact me. As he went n see the neighbor I contacted customer service and the agent I spoke to said they do not pay the cancelation fee. I ask [redacted] for my info back and he refuse to give it to me. So I call the company back. They ask him to bring back my info he crumble some and he said he got rid of the rest. I will never recommend this company to anyone and watch out for [redacted].Desired Settlement: I need to get my information back.

Our records show that the customer was enrolled on 2/**/2015 (electricity), the supply service was scheduled to start on 03/**/2015; this means that the first bill for Kiwi Energy electricity supply would be generatedaround 04/**/2015. The customer chose Kiwi Clean product with Ecogold 5% Cash Back, which means that after completing 12 consecutive billing cycles the customer would receive a check for 5% of the total supply costs. Per customer request, on 03/**/2015 a request to cancel supply service with Kiwi Energy was processed. Customer service supervisor will contact the customer to review billing.

Review: I did not sign an agreement for service with this company. I specifically told the sales rep I did not want the service . Instead he put the order in without my consent.Desired Settlement: I want it in writing that they had no right to start a service without my permission.

Review: A sales person from this company came to my home assuring me that they were affiliated with my current energy supplier and that because of my home address, I qualified for some sort of energy program. After seeing that I was hesitant, he then said I would start receiving rebate checks immediately if I enrolled and that it would change nothing. I've received nothing from Kiwi. In addition, I was told by their sales person that my energy bill would be significantly lower due to the enrollment in this program, however that was not the case. My energy bill has doubled since Kiwi Energy has been supplying service. Now I'm told from my current energy supplier that because the service wasn't canceled before the start of the new billing cycle (I was off by 5 days), they get to charge me another whole month of supply charges.Desired Settlement: I'd like to be compensated for the overage they charged my account. My supply service charges have never been that high. At the very least I'd like my "rebate checks" they promised I would receive. Not only was I lied to about their affiliation with my current supplier, they never made good on their rebates or their assurance to lower my bill. Their sales person mis-represented their service, the benefits associated with it as well as their affiliation with my supply company. I cannot believe I let them into my home.

Two people came to my door, presenting themselves as neutral parties, and telling me that my energy bills had "not yet been adjusted", leading me to thing that they worked for [redacted] or for some regulatory branch of the government. Upon being told to wait for a phone call and "say that we've left the apartment even though we're here doing paper work" it became clear that I was actually signing up for Kiwi Energy...at which point I found this website, and cancelled the process.

Even if Kiwi has lower energy rates, their business practices are unethical, if not illegal. Don't do business with them.

Review: We had a sales person at our house and she promised cheaper prices and better savings. After receiving bill my bill about 30% bigger. Tried contacting company but no one answered. Their rates are much bigger then national average and they do not advertise that.Desired Settlement: I would like them to charge me the rate I had previously with other vendor which was $ 0.55 per therm of Gas and $ 0.13 per Kilowatt hour and refund the rest of money which would be $73 for Gas and $30 for Electrical bill.

Review: A man called and asked for my husband [redacted]. I said that he was not here and that they could take our name and number off of their call listing. The man with a [redacted] accent said he was calling as my son had been in a serious car accident. I asked which son; the man hesitated and said he was calling from the hospital and my sons were all involved in car accidents. I said each of my son's names and the man said they all were in the car accident. I began to get suspicious of the caller as my sons do not all live in the same area. I asked which hospital, and the man said it was a minor accident he was calling from Fresno Medical Center and that they were involved in a small accident; a toy car. I told him I did not appreciate his call and antics and was going to call Kiwi Energy and complain. He must be aware of call ID: he did not hang up for about 2 minutes and keep my line tied up. I have caller ID and got the name of the company Kiwi Energy, phone ###-###-####.Desired Settlement: apology for inappropriate behavior and poor business practices

Review: A woman from Kiwi Energy came to my door today claiming to be with [redacted] and stating that the energy provider for our building had changed, but that she needed to verify my information. She also claimed that I would get a rebate if I did so. Though I was uncomfortable doing so, she pressured me to show her my [redacted] bill so she could show me what kind of rebate I would get. As she pushed for more and more information, I became more uncomfortable, but she continued her ruse and almost had me on the phone verifying my information, before I realized what she was doing. She was blatantly coercing me into making them my new energy provider. This is a total scam. She never offered me an option, but stated it as fact that I just needed to verify some information. I let her into my home and wasted precious newborn nap time on her. I feel violated and concerned with what they will do with my information.Desired Settlement: I would ask that they do not contact me or come to my building again, that they discard any of my information that they have, and that they are required to stop misrepresenting their service.
