K&K Automotive Reviews (24)

Review: On 8/12/2014 I entered into an agreement with K&K automotive and Mr Noah H[redacted] to purchase a rebuilt engine for a 2002 [redacted] pick up truck. The cost of the engine was $2940.00 which was promptly paid. A refund of $500.00 would be returned once the old engine core was removed and sent to K&K automotive with that portion of the agreement being completed. On the later part of Aug the rebuilt engine that was sent was damaged and the mechanic refused to install that engine. After going around and round with mr H[redacted] it was agreed that a new rebuilt engine would be sent. the rebuilt engine was delivered and same was placed in the truck in October of 2014 at a cost to me of $1400.00 and placed on the road. After approx. 5 months the engine ceased to operate. the truck was taken to a authorized [redacted] dealership ([redacted]) and was checked by a authorized mechanic. After examining the engine the mechanic advised that the engine had not been rebuilt, and that only the parts had been scratched to give it the appearance of having been rebuilt and that it was a engine with approx. 200,000 miles on it. Mr h[redacted] was contacted by the mechanic and when told of the findings Mr H[redacted] denied the mechanics findings.

After again going around and round with Mr H[redacted] he agreed to pick up the engine from the dealership, deliver another rebuilt engine and pay the cost of removing and reinstalling the rebuilt engine. The engine was removed and returned to K&K automotive. The first week of June the rebuilt engine promised by Mr h[redacted] was delivered to the dealership. We were then contacted by the mechanic who advised that the engine sent by mr h[redacted] was the incorrect engine for that type of pick up truck. We are in possession of all paperwork (receipt for engine, cost of removing and installing the engine. We are also in possession of a letter from the mechanic detailing his findings.Desired Settlement: Refund of rebuilt engine that was never delivered $2440.00

reimbursed for the cost of removing and installing the engine $1400.00

Dear [redacted], I am emailing you about the complaint I have received from [redacted] In [redacted].I have told the [redacted] family many times that I need the old engine to inspect before I could send another, they refused. on 06/3/2015 I sent them another engine at my own expense and the dealer told me that was the wrong engine. I sent another engine today 06/10/2015 to [redacted] where the truck is being serviced and I have confirmed with them that this is the correct engine.

Review: Our 2011 Volvo was taken for repair on August 10, 2015 to K and K Automotive. My husband was estimated $2,100 for repairs of the engine and then he was called by Abe on August 24th (Phone call logged on my mobile call log) and he explained that the price will increase to $4,000 for repairs. I decided to go in person on August 25th to discuss the price increase and at that time I found my vehicle parked outside on the street and realized that my car had been damaged with an intense wide scratch (to the metal paint removed). I brought it to the attention of Abe and he promised it will be fixed. I revisited the vehicle September 24th to follow up on the completion of repairs and found that the scratch had been poorly covered with black paint. The entire area of the scratch damage should have been correctly painted. I received a call from Nova this morning advising that the car is completed. He explained that the scratch damage will be addressed at a later time because he had to go through his insurance and it would take a couple of weeks. He asked that I pick up the car and come back to see him again in two weeks for the repair of the scratch damages. I am not comfortable taking the car am until the damages are completely fixed and I am also asking that this repair place provide an itemized detailed sheet of a the work completed, parts installed and provide guarantee for all work completed.Desired Settlement: I am not comfortable taking the car until the damages are completely fixed and I am also asking that this repair place provide an itemized deftailed sheet of a the work completed, parts installed, and provide guarantee for all work completed.

The car was repaired as promised to the customers satisfaction. The scratches were repaired. The customer took the vehicle around October 1st and I haven't heard from the couple since.

Review: On 8/12/2014 a rebuilt engine core for a 2002 dodge ram pick up was purchased from K&K automotive in the amount of $2940.00 which included a 1yr unlimited mileage warranty and a refundable engine core charge of $500.00 dollars as long as the old core was returned within 30 days and the condition of the old engine core. On the week of the 25th the new engine core was delivered to [redacted] automotive who would be doing the mechanical work and that the old core was sent back on the same day meeting the requirement of the old core being returned within 30 days.I was contacted by [redacted] who advised the new engine core was defective and were refusing to place it in the vehicle. According to the mechanic there was damage to one of the bolt holes which the alternator would affix to and would no longer hold the alternator. [redacted] the manager for K&K automotive was contacted and a agreement was worked out that the new engine core would be taken back and that they would rebuild the old engine core and sent to [redacted] automotive when finished. The rebuilt core was sent on the week of Sept 8th. That same week I was contacted by [redacted] who advised the engine core that had been returned checked out and I would be refunded the $500.00 core charge and should receive it in a couple days. After approx. 1 week I contacted [redacted] with concerns about not receiving the refund. [redacted] advised that there had been an error and that the check had been resent and I should expect it within a couple days. Again after waiting a week with no refund being received I again contacted [redacted] about the refund with [redacted] advising that he had canceled the last check and to destroy it if received, and that he had issued a new check and would send it along with the warranty for the rebuilt engine core. As of this date 10/6/2014 I have not received the engine core refund or the warranty.Desired Settlement: Refund of the $500.00 core charge and the warranty for the new engine core.

Response:

The core charge was refunded to [redacted] back in October and he cashed the check on October 23rd 20014. I had tried to contact [redacted] multiple times with no response. The last person I talked to from the [redacted] family was his wife or his sister in law and she stated that he had received the core check and they are very happy with the engine.

Review: I purchased a motor from K&K for my sons Jeep through E-Bay. The motor was delivered and installed by a reputable installer at a cost to me of 992.00.The motor supplied by K&K did not function properly. They held true to their warranty agreement and sent another motor after they received their BAD motor back. This process took 3 months (Unacceptable). Their warranty states they will pay the installation cost, I pay the shipping. K&K did arrange for the motor to be returned to their shop. After all this I talked with Noah and Abe H[redacted]. they said 992.00 was too much for an installation. Keep in mind, my mechanic did 2 total replacements at a cost of nearly 2000.00 to me. We agreed on 600.00. I just wanted this nightmare to end. They will not answer my calls or e-mails.In addition I paid a 500.00 core charge that will be refunded to me when they receive the original motor from the Jeep. I have this motor crated and ready to ship. I am afraid to send it till I receive the money for the warranty installation. This can be resolved very easily if they will just pay the monies that are owed.Desired Settlement: Pay the 2nd motor installation 992.00, per their warranty.Pay the core deposit of 500.00Total=1442.00
