I have reviewed a complaint forwarded to me by *** *** , complaint number ***, in reference to our Milford Kost Tire and Auto location. I have spoken to both our store managers at that location, and they have explained to
me what had happened during *** visit with us On the day in question that *** came to our location, we were busier than normal, and short one person in the garage. We took longer than for the services that he had done.....for this we apologized. When *** called for the prices on the tires for his car, he gave us a 15" size, but when he arrived at our location, he had a 16" size on his car. This is the reason for the difference in price of the tires. We did give a discounted price on the tires that we installed. As a valued customer to us, we discounted the oil change and alignment as well I agree with *** that it should not take over hours to have the services done to his car that we did. I apologize for the long wait, and can only assure that the next time he needs any products or services done at our Milford location, I will personally handle the appointment time, and make sure that we complete the necessary repairs in a timely manner.
We cannot refund any money to ***, but what we can do is offer a gift certificate towards his next purchase with us, and assure that we handle his repair needs better
Please let me know if this is satisfactory, and I will prepare and send the certificate out to him promptly.

Thank you for your e-mail in reference to complain id #*** I have discussed the above mentioned complaint with our store manager at the *** location, and the following is our
answer to the issue in question The vehicle is a *** *** with 35,miles on it. We are unsure if it was purchased new or used. It was not the first time that the tires were removed and reinstalled on the vehicle. When *** returned to our shop to show us of the concern that he had with his wheels, we did notice that there was scratches and dents evident on the wheels. *** was a new customer, and we wanted to help him out the best way we could. We did have him get estimates from different people. He wanted the complete wheel repainted and recoated. The cost estimate to bring these wheels back to "new" condition would be approxper wheel. We did wet sand, blend, and clear coat areas near where the lug nuts are installed, even though we cannot assume responsibility for this damageI/we feel that we went above and beyond to try and help *** out. The outcome was not to his liking We value *** as a customer, and hope that we can help him in the future with his tire and auto service needs. Thank you for your time, and please feel free

If there was prior damage to these wheels I would have noticedI am very detail oriented with my vehicle and wash it everytime it goes in for service. I do appreciate Kost's willingness to help me remedy the problemHowever, the quality of which I have received is less than parThe pictures provide are AFTER the damage was "fixed." You can clearly see in these pictures how poorly they were fixed. I went into the service center whole and was expecting to walk out of there with no damageI am just looking to be made whole again

We have bought several sets of tires from Kost over the years. Now we have a set of 80k mile tires with only 52k miles and they are down to the ware bars. Rotations, balance, and alignments all done by Kost. After calling the store in Bloomsburg several times over a 5 day period, they agreed to adjust the tires and put the same tires on at a cost of $689.40. When I asked what they cost to buy them outright, I was told buy 3 get one free. The total would be $604.04. "How does it cost more than $85.00 more to have the tires adjusted than if I was a stranger that just walked in and bought them?" I asked the store rep Hue. He said "the corporation has policies" He also said he agreed it made no scene, but he can't do anything else. I called and left a voicemail with my name and number but did not get a return call. It would appear to me that Kost has customers, and they do service. However, they do not have customer service. I'm now sorry for recommending Kost to my family and friends. This is something I will correct.

We at Kost Tire strive to resolve all customer issues. does the customer have any supporting receipts from when he purchased new tires and had the vehicle alignment checked? when was this done and where. what was the millage on the vehicle when the problem was...

Our response to the rejection is as follows....
   [redacted] DID return to our Milford service center two days after her initial visit for brake work....See invoice [redacted] dated 8/8/1912. No mention of any
over heating at that time.   Several days later, at least a week to 10 days, the car was presented again. An internal engine problem was evident,
and we did the repair, it did take two days to complete, and was returned to the customer in good working order, in a better
condition than when it had first  arrived.
  
   The initial invoice dated 7/31/2012 was in the amount of 1189.28, and included several repairs which were authorized and
approved.   
  
   We reject the rejection, and would like to see the repair invoice that another mechanic did at the cost of 100.00.   In [redacted]'s
initial response the part cost was 50.00..
  The warrranty time frame has expired on origional invoice of 7/31/2012.

I am rejecting this response because:
As I stated in the first complaint the way my vehicle and tires were treated is what the problem is. I waited over two hours to watch my car get driven like a race car. Then watched my trunk lid slammed and tires thrown around. I spoke with two mechanics and another tire company.  With my car only having 31,000 miles there is no reason for the sensor to be broken already. It will break with a person not taking old tire off correctly. 
And yes I told them to put a regular valve stem in for the time being because I was not about to pay more money after seeing what happened. I have already gone to another company and had a new tpms installed. There is no chance of me ever going back to the company.  I have taken this car and another car to this location before for inspections. So I figured I would continue business with tire change, but that was a mistake.

    We did advise **. [redacted] of the condition of his valve stem.....He instructed us to
just put a regular valve stem in the tire, which we did....We called the dealer for a price on a new
TPMS sensor, and gave him the installed price ......I think that he had found a less expensive sensor from another
parts house.....   
 
     In good faith, and to resolve this issue, and hopefully keep [redacted] and his family as customers,
I agree to purchase a new TPMS sensor and install it free of charge....

service done at ###-###-####.

We got 4 new Michelin tires on our 2013 Dodge Durango around November 2015 with an alignment due to front passenger wearing on outside edge of tire. They said alignment was fine. We had an inspection done at a local dealership on January 23 2016 and passed in mid February noticed front passenger tire had almost no tread left from center of tire to the outer edge and driverside was showing wear. There was less than 10,000 miles on tires. When contacting Kost in Tunkhannock they gave an appointment in February 2016 and passenger side was way out and driverside was out a little also, they ordered 2 new tires and said it would cost me $20-$30 a tire which ended up costing I believe $77 dollars all together. They should of gotten the alignment right the first time. They called us to set up an appointment when the tires came in and we set it up for Tuesday because that was the only day that would work and when I got there they told me I was 24 hours to early they accidentally wrote it down for Wednesday which was not what was discussed on the phone. My wife ended up having to take the car because of my work schedule and the guy at Kost in Tunkhannock was very ignorant and told her next time to pay attention to any wear on her tires and bring it in sooner. We originally paid for a service and should not have to monitor their work they performed.

I took my 2011 jeep compass 50.500 miles to kost in eynon for PA state inspection, they failed it saying it needed a ball joint and inner tie rod end,I have been a tech for over 40 years and have my inspection license but I don't have a station, I chose to do the work myself, when I purchased the parts and went to install them I found there wasn't anything wrong with the parts on the vehicle, no play in them at all, I called and questioned them , they said they would not inspect it without the new parts, I installed the new parts , I have the parts I took off, they are like new, Kost just wanted to rip me off and make money on me, Beware of their fraudulent business practices,

In response to customer [redacted], please be advised that the vehicle was brought to the dealership for the alignment and is clearly states on customer invoice that the left front strut is bent and the vehicle could not be brought into manufactures alignment...

specification by [redacted].  Please refer to attachments for supporting documentation.  In addition, the vehicle suspension has be lowered.  According to the customer the dealership was not given any alignment specs to compensate for the lowered suspension.  We believe that the vehicle has a bent strut assembly, the suspension has been lower, and the dealership could not aligned it properly which are all contributing factors to [redacted] handling issues..  The camber setting clearly shows that it is out of spec and will cause tire wear and handling problems ( see attachment).  [redacted]  as a show of goodwill and customer satisfaction was offered a 96% adjustment on his front tires through the manufacturer [redacted] but nothing on the rear tires which are fine.  Regardless of what tires are put on the vehicle  [redacted] still has suspension and alignment issues that will wear tires and create handling problems.
