Lajobi Industries Reviews (38)

Review: I recently purchased a crib from LaJobi Industries the end of September 2014, the crib ordered was an Espresso crib. Upon receipt of the crib, I discovered the crib was not espresso, however White colored. In addition, the crib was lacking the hardware needed to install the crib. I have contacted LaJobi Industries within the last several days. I have left numerous voice messages and emails requesting that I be able to exchange the crib for the correct color purchased and receive the hardware needed to complete the installation. LaJobi Industries states that all consumers who contact their business will receive response in up to 48 hours. It has long since been 48 hours, and I hvae yet to receive response concerning my issue.Desired Settlement: I would like the crib I currently have possesion of to be replaced for the proper crib, along with the necessary hardware.

Review: I purchased a convertible crib from Babies R Us. The footboard did not have openings for the metal hooks to attach the rails. After multiple attempts in trying to contact LaJobi, still no response. The automated messaging system instructs to go to their website, but their website is nonexistent. The footboard is defective and I want it replaced, but neither myself or even Babies R Us can get in touch with ANYONE from the company.Desired Settlement: I would like a new footboard.

Review: I purchased a dresser for my daughters room and one of the pieces of the drawer assemblies was damaged. Per the instructions I was not to contact the retailer and instead contact lajobi directly. I made multiple attempts through multiple forms of communication to contact them with the information provided in the materials and never got any response.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the parts that were received in damaged condition to be replaced.

Review: I purchased two sets of Metro style bed rails from the company. The first set had broke and were replaced by the company without any issues in February 2014. The other set of bed rails broke while my daughter was in her bed. The whole bed collapsed. I tried to reach out to the company, they still have a working phone number but the website is gone. Several other people on other websites stated that the company went out of business in May 2014. I would like to see if the company still has bed rails for my daughters bed and have them replaced. The bed rails were made horribly and should have been recalled by the CPSC. The CPSC needs to notify all consumers for the safety of their children.Desired Settlement: I would like replacement parts or a refund. The bed rails are barely a year old. A manufacturer should stand behind their product. They did in February and they should now.

Review: I ordered a nursery dresser from [redacted], that was made by La Jobi Inc., it arrived with a manufacturer defect on one of the drawer fronts. [redacted] put in an order for a new drawer front. They said once the order is placed it is between the consumer and the furniture company. The drawer front arrived, but it was the front to the wrong dresser. I emailed the company and they said that they would send the correct drawer front. I was assured that there wouldn't be a problem getting the drawer front and even told on 2 occasions that it was in the warehouse ready to be shipped. The drawer front never comes and I get the run around every time I call their customer service dept. I get transferred around, told people are on break, not at their desk, I'll get a tracking number, it already got sent out etc... This has been going on for 2 months now.Desired Settlement: I would like the correct drawer front to the dresser I have already paid for in full and that was supposed to be mailed out in June.

Review: I have bought a graco conversion headboard kit. I paid a total of 68.47. I am missing parts to this conversion kit. I am I have called the company for over 2 months I have called over 20 times and I sit on hold over a hour and still no answer. I leave messages and no one returns my call. If u call their number it states to go to lajobi.com. I have triedThe and the website is down. I need my replacements parts. That we're missing. A whole new hardware set. Better yet. I would like a refund for 68.47 to buy something that is better quality then this cheap frame and hardware. At this point I am mad that this problem has been going on for over 2 months and there is no customer service. I want a refund.Desired Settlement: I want a refund at this point because I am going out and buying a new frame and hardware.

Review: I have a [redacted] crib that is broken (the support for the mattress has broken in a couple spots- which means my daughters mattress could fall through. I can't use her crib!). When I accessed the [redacted] replacement parts website it states "The model you are searching for has been created through Graco's licensing partnership with LaJobi, a leading maker of baby furniture." With a link to the LaJobi website. The website has not been working. I contacted [redacted] and they provided me with Lajobi's phone number I have called numerous time and can't get through. I also have left a message with them. I feel this is a safety issue and now I'm going to have to go purchase a whole new crib which I can't afford! [redacted] offered me a small rebate towards the purchase of another [redacted] product. Which isn't much help. I just want the replace the broken part and it would be nice if this company was able take care of their customers.

Review: On August 19th, my husband and I ordered replacement bolts, screws and pegs for our daughter's crib after we had moved and lost the parts during the move. The first problem was that we had NO proof the order was even placed until we called them to confirm it because it took 4 DAYS after we placed our order for the money to come out of our account due to their credit card system was 'down' for two days. The next, and most important issue at hand, is that both he and I were told, probably by the SAME PERSON, that it would be ONLY 10-14 business days until the parts arrived at our apartment. I called on the 1st of September to check on our order as we had not received it to see what was going on. The woman I talked to said that the order STILL hadn't shipped and she didn't even know WHEN it would ship, but 'hopefully next week' was all she could tell me. Today, I called AGAIN to check on our order, but this time was met with a different answer: they would NOT be able to fulfill the order and that we would be getting a refund of our $35 due to them discontinuing the crib and its parts. She also told me that the parts would still come, but it would be through a different company and she couldn't tell me WHAT company, WHEN it would ship, or even WHO to contact next about it. So now, my daughter is almost 3 months old and has NEVER SLEPT IN HER CRIB AND NEVER WILL DUE TO THIS INCIDENT. She is quickly outgrowing the Graco glider she sleeps in due to her legs being so long. She can't even stretch her legs out in it anymore, so my husband and I are going to be forced to buy ANOTHER crib with money we DON'T have. This first crib was basically a CHRISTMAS GIFT from my mother's parents and was sentimental to us due to that and the fact this is our first child so putting together this crib was special for us.Desired Settlement: On top of the refund, my husband and I need at least $200 to buy another crib because I refuse to wait any longer for parts that will NEVER come. This compensation is the only way we will be able to get one. It is not our fault that the order wasn't fulfilled and they should have told us when I called on the 1st that they were unable to fulfill our order. So compensating us for the cost of a new crib is the very LEAST they can do for our personal suffering and the time we have wasted with this unreliable company.

Review: I ordered a dresser for my son in February from a local store that was made by La Jobi. He was born in April. After having the dresser 1 month, with extremely light use, the tracks to a drawer broke on both sides. I called my local store and after they contacted La Jobi, it was explained that I had to work directly with La Jobi and the store couldn't offer any additional assistance. I began contacting the company in May. It is now October and I still do not have my problem resolved. I have contacted La Jobi a MINIMUM of 10 times, sometimes leaving a message, but most often speaking with a representative. I was originally told I would be able to get a new drawer, then they went back on that and said that they would send me the tracks. I ordered the tracks from [redacted] on 6/26/13. After weeks of waiting and still not receiving the item, I called La Jobi again. I left multiple messages for [redacted] with no return calls. I was eventually told they were ordered and would ship 7/8/13. Once again I didn't receive the items and called back to be told the item was on backorder and would ship the following Monday. Again, no tracks. Was told again by [redacted] they would ship 8/13/13, then moved to 9/10/13. I called to check on 9/24/13 and was told by [redacted] that they had shipped. I called back 10/7/13 and was told it was shipped and and she was checking with "shipping department" and asked me to call back to get the tracking number. I asked her to call me back and it is now Thursday and I haven't heard back from her - I have also been on hold for 30 minutes waiting for a representative.Desired Settlement: I would like the drawer tracks to be sent, if that's not a possibility I would like a replacement dresser as the one I've received is defective and the drawer is inoperable in it's current condition.

Review: The Graco Lauren Convertible Crib was purchased at walmart.com 12/9/10 with warranty stating : 5 yr limited warranty for manufacturer defects. The metal mattress support has came apart and broken, having only been slept on as it was meant for, this is caused by manufacturer defect. I called Lajobi, who is the contact and manufacturer for this product on 9/5/13 and told them. I was told there is only a 1 yr warranty and it's only hardware. I argued that the product states a 5 year warranty and does not state any mention of hardware. She wanted me to pay for a replacement which I refused to do since it is well within the stated warranty they advertised. was told she would call me back the next day and never received a phone call. I called back on 9/30/13 and was told the same thing and was again told it's just a 1yr warranty. They told me the website shows 1yr. I informed [redacted] that I have a screen shot picture showing that it did say 5 yr that they recently changed it. I emailed her mine receipt, photos of the mattress support, the screen shot showing the 5yr warranty, and have had no response. This is a safety issue and needs to be replaced at the companies expense.Desired Settlement: QUALITY replacement at the manufacturers expense.

Review: I was informed that replacement hardware for my infant crib was in stock and available on 12/12/13. I called to place an order on 12/13/13 at which time I was told the hardware was in stock and would be shipped to me via FedEx Ground in 5-10 business days. I was charged for this order on the 12/13/13. At the end of December (well past that delivery time), I attempted to contact LaJobi Customer Service via telephone; after being on hold and receiving an automated "high call volume" message, I was hung up on. A week later, I contacted LaJobi again (via email, as the phone attempts resulted in the same hang-ups) to request assistance. I received an email response in mid-January with an apology for the delay and a promise to ship the product the next day. A week later, I still had not received the promised product. I contacted LaJobi again and did not receive a response for nearly 2 weeks. I was offered a refund at that time (2/4/14). I requested a refund, provision of the product without a charge (given the poor service/inaccurate information/extended wait period following the charge to my credit card with no product provided), and contact with a supervisor. I heard nothing from LaJobi. On 2/17/14, a refund was posted to my account (greater than 2 months after I placed an order for an in-stock item).

I'm confused as to whether the company is woefully incompetent or willfully fraudulent. Either LaJobi has a globally awful inventory program: they thought they had the parts in December, and then they thought they had the parts in January, and then --finally-- they were able to realize that they were missing the parts in February; that, or they were deliberately dishonest in purposely misrepresenting to me the fact that the parts were ever there in the first place so they could take my money and hold it for 60+ days, returning it only after repeated and lengthy efforts on my part.Desired Settlement: I have been unable to provide a crib for one of my growing babies (I have twins). I have not previously experienced such poor customer service for such an expensive and well-established product or, for that matter, for any product at any price. I need the replacement hardware kit for the crib and am thus reliant upon this company to provide it. We have two twins of nearly one year of age sharing a single crib because the 2nd crib is still in pieces, waiting on the connecting hardware which was promised to us last year.

To be clear: the crib is gorgeous. We look forward to one of our children growing up in the crib, transitioning to a bed, and feeling as safe and cared for as they actually are. We cannot, at this point, in good conscience refer the company to our friends nor can we recommend their products as - while they're clearly crafted with care- the service backing them does them a disservice and injustice.

Response:

Customer lost hardware. Contacted us to purchase. Has older model crib. Our inventory showed we had one package in stock however when inventory was taken we were notified this was not available. We offered the consumer a refund to her credit card. The new hardware for the newer cribs will not work with her crib and we cannot send out parts that are not for her crib for safety reasons. We will not be getting hardware in for cribs which are over 5 years old as our warranty is one year. Our goal is to provide warranty parts as the crib orginally was provided with the hardware. We are only required to carry parts for one year after the product has been discontinued thank you

Review: I purchased a [redacted] Crib from [redacted] in[redacted], Vermont. I was in the process of moving so we never put the crib together. By the time we moved and got to put the crib up it was past the 90 days store return policy so I called Lajobi regarding my issue. When I went to put the crib together it was missing two part, both which were the front and back legs. I called to place a parts replacement order and was told they would arrive in 10-12 business days in which 3 weeks had passed and I received nothing. I tried emailing as they recommended about parts inquiry and no return email, I did this twice with no response. So I called back and waited 30 plus minutes to get to customer service. After a few more weeks and a handful of phone calls I am continuously told we can no longer get the parts. I explain either I would like my money back or a new crib. This gets me no where. Today I find out that the whole time I was getting a run around was because so weren't the employees. The business is closing, so now I am out moneys because of something that is beyond my control.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my money back for the crib so I can take my business elsewhere. This is unfair and unjust. Thank you.

Review: Received a baby crib as a gift (brand new and delivered from walmart.com) upon assembly I noticed the front panel of crib had a gauge in the wood. On the box it said to contact lajobi rather than returning to store. So I emailed on 07/11/14, I received no response, I emailed again on 07/21/14 still no response. I looked on their website and filed a general enquiry and then some time later I completed a parts request through the website also. No response. . I called and verified my information and was told my item would be sent out (called 08/11/14) didn't trust that things would be correct so I tried calling on 08/27/14 but could not get through so I left a voice message. I understand companies get busy and have no problem waiting for delivery I just need some confirmation that I am actually expecting a deliveryDesired Settlement: Replacement of defective part I bought. Front panel of a Freeport crib in cherry. My details should be in their database so I see no reason why a quick email saying it's being handled is so hard.

Review: I bought a crib for my daughter it is missing the right and left back leg along with the hardware that it says is included. I called their number and spent 2 hours on hold 15 past when they closed with no answer. I emailed, went to their website left a voice mail and tried contacting their orporate head qaurters with no response. I can not put the crib togtger with out the missing peices and[redacted]. Who I bought it through will charge.me shipping to return it so I can buy a second one wih the pae parts included.Desired Settlement: I have submitted my information on your site and by email however I can provide the needed information again if I can just get the three missing parts.

Review: We recently moved and have a baby due any day. We have a crib that is called the "Freeport" that we have misplaced parts to. We need a crib put together for our new baby that is coming. LaJobi has not responded to any calls or emails from me in over one week. I just need to know which parts I need to get and where if they are unable to send me them. Simply, I just need answers.Desired Settlement: I need a customer service agent to get back with me as soon as possible to inform me of the replacement parts I need to purchase or order. ###-###-####

Review: I ordered a guardrail for my son's convertible crib (which is a[redacted] Baby product - a division of LaJobi Inc.) on July 15th, 2014. On July 18th, 2014, $124.99 was taken out of my checking account (the price of the guardrail). At the time I placed the order, I was told that the guardrail was in stock and that I should receive it within 8-10 business days. About 4 weeks later, I still hadn't received the guardrail, so I called LaJobi at ###-###-#### (the number listed on the assembly instructions that came with the crib and also the number I called to place the order). I asked why I still hadn't received it and they said that there was an error with the warehouse reporting that they still had some of them in stock, but in fact had none. The person I spoke with also said that they would not be making any more and that she would refund the $124.99 that was already taken out of my account. That was about 3 weeks ago now and I still have not received a refund. I have tried calling several times. The first time was on Friday, August 29th, 2014. I waited on hold for over 30 minutes before giving up and leaving a message with my name, e-mail address, phone number, and issue (all of the information they ask you to provide in your message). Because I still hadn't received a call back, I called again at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014 and spoke to a woman who said that she could see that the request had been sent to the finance department to refund my payment, but that since it still hadn't been done, she would contact someone from that department to see what was going on and call me back to let me know. It is now Thursday, September 4th, 2014 at almost 4:00 p.m. and I still haven't received a call back. I tried calling again yesterday (Wednesday, September 3rd, 2014) and was on hold for 40 minutes before I gave up and left another message. I still haven't received a call back. I just want my money back for a product that I will never receive.Desired Settlement: I want LaJobi to refund the $124.99 that they took out of my checking account on July 18th, 2014 for the guardrail I ordered, but never received (and never will receive since they are no longer making that product).

Review: I have called multiple times in the past week (at least 6 times), waiting and then hung up on, left message with no response. I am simply trying to purchase extra parts to a crib. I have filled out the parts request form on their website three times (once 2 month ago, twice in the past 2 weeks) with no response. I have emailed "general inquiries" with all of the information requested to get parts at least 10 times with no response (in the last week). I have called and left a message (once with message being cut off but enough for my name and number) with no response.

I am willing to pay for the parts. But no one will respond. I even called corporate and left a voicemail for them to call back and they haven't done so yet. (That happened today, June 20.) I haven't even gotten a generic email of "we have received your request etc."Desired Settlement: I want someone to answer my phone call so that I can place my parts order. I want to pay for the parts for my crib so that we can assemble it by the time baby comes. (one month)

Review: I purchased a crib from them through walmart. The crib came damaged and it states to not return to the store if damaged. I called the number it gives you for replacement parts. I tried to get a hold of them 3 times and after over 1 hour nobody picked up the phone. I don't have original packaging for this item cause it was large. Also I have never had a problem getting parts from other companies so I assumed I would be able to get my parts.Desired Settlement: I would like to just be able to get money back for this crib and be able to get a different crib since my baby is due in less than 4 weeks.

Review: I purchased a [redacted] crib Model/Serial#[redacted] color Espresso [redacted] Vendor#[redacted] ProductionDate Dec. 10,2013.Two of the pieces are damaged. The pieces are:#1 crib end-right & #5 front fixed side. We got no answer to calls. Webs site does not come up at all. We purchased the crib at [redacted] in [redacted]PA. they now are out of stock. Would like replacement pieces or a replacement crib! We need your help in getting results to this problem, since we get absolutely no responce from Lajobi, the manufacturer of the crib. we also emailed them with no responce to that either. I thank you in advance for any help you can give in this matter. also to help other people from getting the same bad treatmentDesired Settlement: A replacement crib or the replacement of the damaged pieces. #1 crib end-right & #5 front fixed side.

Review: I have contacted this company many times via email and telephone over the course of 2 months and have received no response. According to the store where I purchased their product, [redacted], the company was switching manufacturers and requested a list of customers searching for the conversion pieces. According to this company's website the pieces are sold at [redacted]. We need the conversion pieces so our child can safely use the product they manufacture as it was intended. I have requested assistance with this many times and my requests have gone unanswered. This is extremely frustrating and unprofessional, especially since a child is involved.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to contact me so I can get the pieces needed or for the company to provide the pieces.
