Lajobi Industries Reviews (38)

Review: [redacted] needs to find a new furniture licensor after having given Lajobi several opportunities to rectify the situation of our defective $180 [redacted] Avalon Glider. This Glider was recalled. Our glider is hardly used and the chair unhinged off the base gave off as my wife was rocking our newborn. Have called several times both Lajobi and [redacted] left messages for Lajobi myself and with [redacted]. Lajobi got back to me and told me to email them the damaged area. I sent them the photos of the damage and followed up. Two months later, I still haven't heard anything. This Rocking chair was a gift. Shame on you Lajobi for not taking care of your customers, especially customers that have babies and little kids around the house that need to use your products on a daily basis and is a potential accident waiting to happen if an unknowing child were to sit on it!Desired Settlement: To send us a new one or replacement part as this chair is recalled.

Review: Back in May I contacted Lajobi and told them a part of the crib I had purchased came defective. They informed me the part was on backorder and would take 6 weeks before I would receive the new part. I was dealing with the company through [redacted] via email. 6 weeks later I emailed Ms. [redacted] inquiring about the part and received no response so I called. I was put through to Ms. [redacted] and she told she wasn't sure what was going on, but that she would call me back. I never heard from her, but received the new part the next day. After taking the crib apart to put the new part on, I noticed that the replacement part was in even worse shape than the original! (It had staples sticking out on one side and a big dent in the middle). So once again I called, told customer service the issue and was told a new part would be sent again. After a few days, I called to see when it would arrive and again, the part was on backorder and would take about 2 weeks to reach me. It has now been 4 weeks since making that last phone call and I have heard nothing and received nothing.Desired Settlement: At the very least I would like a replacement part ASAP and an apology. I have a 2 year old and a 3 week old. I have much better things to do with my time then sit in front of a computer or on the phone numerous times trying to contact Lajobi.

Review: I have tried contacting them regarding an infant crib I purchased, 5 springs have broken off the frame and the mattress sags to the floor on one side. This isn't safe for an infant or a toddler who still uses a crib. First call I made I was on hold for 2 hours with no answer. Second call I was on hold for 30 minutes when I decided to finally leave a message... it wouldn't let me and hung up on me. The most recent call went out this morning (to mid morning) where I was on hold for 3.5 hours with NO ANSWER where it again hung up on me a few minutes after that!!!!! This crib was purchased in March of 2014, it's only October, there is no reason this crib should be broken, and yet here we are. I find this product and their company to be unacceptable.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund to purchase a crib that my child will be safe in. I'm having another baby in January and have no intention of using a crib that is going to break like this with a company who doesn't care at all about it's customers.

Review: In July 2014, after a few email exchanges with one of the customer service rep, [redacted], I purchased the Lajobi universal bed rails for $251.99 on the phone. I asked to send me the receipt by email but I never received it. I called again to ask for a receipt but never received still. On the phone, the rep said to allow 4-6 weeks delivery since it's coming from California. So I patiently waited. On Sept 3, I called Lajobi. The rep whom I talked to said the rails were never sent from California and she needed to cancel my order and will issue a refund to me. She advised me to get the parts from Amazon which I did and already received and installed. Since Sept 3, I called 2 more times and one time the rep told me my credit card will be credited but it's processing. The second time the rep told me I will receive a check by mail. I have not received anything. It took them a day to charge my credit card and forever to return my money. I called again yesterday and today and no one picked up the phone. I kept listening to their message of "high call volume and please hold" for more than an hour. Now I am just concerned this company has gone out of business.Desired Settlement: I just want my money back since I did not receive the product.

Review: I have repeatedly been in contact with the company since March for a parts issue that came with the original convertible baby bed. The screws that were supposed to be useful were only superficial. Because I am now ready to use the toddler bed I need these screws for the safety of my daughter. I called every day last week even to President [redacted] and the consumer services manager [redacted] leaving messages. They neither one have returned my calls. These particular screws are unique to the furniture. I just want what should have been in the original bedding package but was not. I've been put off when I actually did talk to [redacted] told I would get a call back or even told they no longer order these. I've gone as far as asking in a voice mail if I could have the name of the company they ordered from. It's useless to me for my daughter to sleep train without the screws for the guard rail. They are 1-1/2 inches screws. It's four of them. We bought both conversion kits for this bed suite. It isn't an unreasonable request. Stonewalling the consumer is unacceptable and bad business practice. I have emails and phone records to backup my claims.Desired Settlement: At least give me the parts I need and if you can't do that direct to the company that has them.

Review: I have attempted to contact this business several times over the last 2 months to try and order a conversion kit for a product that is no longer carried by [redacted] where I purchased the crib that I need the conversion kit for. [redacted] advised me that they are working on a settlement with the company and I should contact LaJobi directly. Despite repeated phone calls and an email to the address on the company website ([email protected]) I have received no response to my inquiry. Since I purchase the crib made by this manufacturer less than 2 years ago I would like to be able to purchase the accessory kit necessary to convert my crib safely to a toddler bed. I have received no response from the manufacturer whatsoever and am simply looking for guidance on where I can purchase the kit necessary to make the product I bought ([redacted] Crib) function.Desired Settlement: Assistance in locating and purchasing the required kit for their product to function.

Review: I purchased a crib July 6th from Burlington coat factory which is a distributor for Lajobi. There is a 30 day return policy from Burlington coat factory. I submitted a request to Lajobi for a replacement part as the crib came with two right sides and no left side. I have email correspondence with [redacted] (Lajobi) on July 9th stating that they would send out the part in 6-8 weeks. I sent numerous emails for requesting updates after I did not recieve the parts. here are the dates and email addresses that I contacted.

S[redacted]@lajobi.com 9-8-13

s[redacted]@lajobi.com[redacted]@lajobi.com 9-11-13

s[redacted]@lajobi.com[redacted]@lajobi.com 9-16-13

I recieved an out of office from s[redacted]@lajobi.com to contact [redacted]@lajobi.com

[redacted]@lajobi.com,s[redacted]@lajobi.com[redacted]@lajobi.com 9-17-13

Each email I sent had an auto response that they would get back to me in 3 days.Desired Settlement: I would like a functional crib in the time I need it. I have already waited 77 days. If parts are not available I would like a refund for the Palisades Cherry crib and the matching dresser since I will likely have to replace both to have a matching set.

Review: We received a baby crib for my wife's baby shower and upon assembly, we had noticed the crib had a large crack on one of the ends rendering the crib unsafe. We contacted the company to get a replacement part ordered. They apparently placed an order for the part and it would be shipped to us in 3-4 weeks. We never received the part and upon contacting them again, never responded back to us. Fast forward a few months, the company claims the order was cancelled on their end and they cannot order us a new part as they phased the particular model out and that we would need to return the crib to the place of purchase (this is now WELL after the return window, as this was a gift and we have no receipt).Desired Settlement: We either need the part replaced, a new crib for the same cost of the crib we have, or a refund of the cost in order to purchase a new one.

Review: We purchased both a crib and a matching dresser through a local boutique retailer "Juvenile Planet" in Lakewood NJ in 2012. The crib has a crack on the front railing which continues to spread and separate creating a hazard for my child in the crib. The legs of the dresser continuously fall off while my son is being changed on the changing table, again creating a major risk for the safety of my child. Additionally, the detailing and paint of the furniture are fading and chipping. I have tried working through the retailer however, the retailer is stating that the crib company does not exist nor is it returning her phone calls. We purchased the crib approximately two years ago and have been dealing with this issue for over a year.

Crib Details:

Princess Garden Lifestyle Crib

Color: Sweet Cream

Model No: [redacted]

PO# 7041

Production Date 5/20/12

Made in Dong Nai (Vietnam)

Vendor [redacted]Desired Settlement: We request a refund equal to the original purchase price for the defective and dangerous furniture so we may purchase another crib and dresser.

Review: We bought our baby a dresser from babies r us and noticed that one drawer started getting stuck, and realized it is because it is missing the rail for it to slide on. I called lajobi for a part replacement and they said they no longer make that dresser. When I asked what do I do now, they insisted they could not help us. I cannot believe they do not have a generic rail that they can send.Desired Settlement: I would like a rail so the drawer doesn't keep getting stuck and end up damaging it. Which will end up costing more at the end in order to fix it.

Review: I purchased a crib and dresser for my daughter from Lajobi. Was given the run around by customer service when I was actually able to get in touch with somebody at customer service. Their furniture only 4 months old was falling apart. It was unsafe to have my daughter sleep in the crib. I was told that I was going to get a replacement crib and dresser. I was supposed to get a call from delivery company in [redacted] regarding a setup date for delivery which never happened. I currently still don't have a safe place for my daughter to sleep.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back for crib and dresser so I can purchase furniture for my daughter that is safe. I no longer want replacement furniture from Lajobi.

Review: I have contacted Lajobi, Inc on multiple occasions about a defect with one of their products. I have also contacted [redacted] which uses Lajobi. [redacted] tried to get Lajobi to contact me but they have not. I am simply filing this complaint to make it aware to someone that this company is not responding to its customers. I would appreciate any assistance I can get on this matter. When I refer to a defect in the product there were two pieces to this particular piece of furniture. I initially attempted to communicate with the company to find out there policy. Now, I would just like for them to send me to new pieces of the furniture that I have. The information for this is as follows:

Color: Espresso

Model No: [redacted]2

This is the same info that they request when calling about a problem with a product. The item numbers for the broken pieces is Item 9 and 10.Desired Settlement: I would just like for them to send me two new pieces to be able to assemble the piece of furniture as I cannot repack the dresser to send it back.

Review: I had purchased a crib at the end of January from this manufacture through[redacted]. The crib was going to be used at my parent's house, since they baby-sit my son during the day. After it arrived to their house on March 3, they moved forward to putting it together. The two bolts that would allow them to secure the front section of the crib were destroyed and could not be used. My mother emailed La Jobi asking for two additional bolts and never received a response. Seven days later my mother emailed again and [redacted] from the company responded stating the bolts would take 12 - 14 weeks to be delivered, apologized for the delay and said they would be refunding us for the crib instead of sending the bolts. My mother forwarded the email to me and my husband reached out to La Jobi to get more information - as we did not purchase the crib directly from the manufacture and needed to find out how the refund was going to be handled. He has emailed [redacted] directly, along with the customer service shared email box and posted a message on their [redacted] page - all were completed last Thursday (March 20) and we have not received a response.Desired Settlement: We would like a response from a representative that could give us information on how our refund will be provided to us. I refuse to give them my credit card information, and would like a check refund - with tax and mailing charges included.

Review: I recently acquired a[redacted] crib that has a recall for the drop down front on the crib. I have emailed the parts department, left a voicemail with the parts department, and emailed the main contact page for the company. I never even got one of those confirmation emails say, "Thanks for contacting...bla bla." I am wondering if they are even in business. I called and I hit 0 as directed for an operator and it rang and then picked up and said mailbox is full!!!

I mean, this is crazy.Desired Settlement: I want the recall kit sent to me for this crib! It is a safety issue mandated by law.

Review: I was very excited to purchase the Graco Sarah Classic Crib, as I had researched the product in the Baby Bargains Book and saw excellent reviews. However, my experience has turned out very poorly. I'm writing to express my dissatisfaction with with the customer service at LaJobi.

Because my product included the incorrect instructions, I was inconvenienced in the following ways:

Compensating for company mistake by putting the crib together with the incorrect instructions

Visiting and consulting with two different hardware stores to compensate for incorrectly identified hardware pieces

Strained back pain while trying to assemble product based on incorrect instructions

Disappointing experience in what is supposed to be one of the happiest times of my life

Also, I noticed that instructions I received with the product are in fact wrong, despite not being the correct instructions for me. The instructions call for twelve 3" screws yet lists that the customer is only provided with eight 3" screws. This is unfortunate and should be rectified immediately, as I would hate for another consumer to experience the same stress I have or try to correct the problem on their own and the crib is assembled defectively and therefore harm a child.

LaJobi offered to send a new hardware pack on March 19, 2014. As of March 26, 2014 I have not received the hardware pack or any response regarding it. When I followed up with the company on March 26, 2014 I was told by an employee that the hardware pack was on back order and not given a date as to when I could expect to receive it.

All in all, I am very disappointed in my experience with LaJobi; from the product assembly to the customer service.Desired Settlement: I believe LaJobi should provide me with a refund of $155.11, as well as the correct hardware parts (which they promised to send) for the crib I purchased.

Review: I have a crib which I bought from them (through BabiesR Us) for my older son. I want to use it with my 4 month old daughter. It has a drop side which has been recalled. They offer a conversion kit to keep the side from going down so that it is safe. I filled out the online request form for the kit over 5 weeks ago. They said allow 2-3 weeks. I waited over 3 weeks and tried to contact them via phone. The calls are just hung up on due to "high caller volume" on the 4+ different times I've tried. I have also sent them an email via their website to no response. Two weeks ago, I tried once more with the request form, phone calls (2) and email. No response! Babies R Us has also tried and hasn't been able to get through. This is a real safety concern!Desired Settlement: I would like the conversion kit for my crib as soon as possible so I can put my daughter safely in there!

Response:

on 11/20/13 [redacted] emailed requesting a kit for her dropside. On 11/22/2013 a response requesting the production date was sent to her adn to this date she has not responded to our request. We do require certain information to send out parts

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

I am not outright rejecting this response. N

However I responded to La Jobi that they did not use the email (or phone number or address) which I provided on my emails to them so their response sat in an unused email box until I checked it a month later. I have since received the part. They still do not answer their phone.

Sorry, this page does not allow me to go and correct mistakes in spelling on my iPad. pone.

Review: On 8/12/13, my husband send a picture of spots (that suddenly appeared) on our crib with a note on LaJobi's website. The crib is a black Babi Italia Parrish Crib (made by LaJobi). We have had the crib less than a year (at that time) and had started to see glossy spots that appeared on the surface of the front rail. We had read the instructions carefully before we ever assembled it to know that the crib could only have a damp cloth clean it, or a certain soap and water. We were very careful to make sure that nothing was sprayed in this area. We like to take very good of all of our things. This crib is no different, but this is a convertible crib- so even more of a reason since this was intended to be a lifetime purchase.

After many contacts with customer service ([redacted] via email, we were told on 12/2/13, "I can replace the footboard for you. Please email me where you would like it shipped to." On 12/5/13, we received this, "Thank you We will process your order for the replacement part to be shipped to you." We have still not received this piece of the crib. I have wrote [redacted] on 1/10/14, 2/4/14 and 4/10/14, as well as calling multiple times.Desired Settlement: We would like the footboard to be replaced as promised.

Review: On April 16, 2014 I contacted LaJobi Industries to obtain replacement screws (I need 3) for a crib we purchased in 2010. The customer service rep told me that the replacement parts were not in stock and were expected 3-4 months from that date. That's very close to the date we will need to use the crib. She communicated to me that it was an estimate that I could call back each month and get a better update. I called back today and was told a different story. There were replacement parts, but a whole set (not just the few pieces I needed) and was $35. I asked to order those and the rep communicated that they were out of stock and expected in 3-4 months. I inquired about what she recommend I do and she said she could not make recommendations. She said that they were getting out of the wood products business and that she would be surprised if they got the hardware at all. She further said that they "recommend using original parts any way so . . . ." I'm not sure how her language is meant to be even decent customer service.

I have no idea how this company is in business. I will NEVER purchase anything from this company again and will strongly encourage anyone I speak to not to as well.Desired Settlement: Since they should provide replacement parts like they did back when we purchased the crib, I would expect replacement parts to still be available. If this cannot happen, then I want them to reimburse me for a replacement crib which I will now need to go purchase.
