On February 18th, 2013 I ordered with [redacted] at the Lake Chelan Boat Company, and charged to my credit card, what I thought was a trip ticket on "The Lady of the Lake" departing Field's Point Landing on Friday February 22nd to Lucerne and then another ticket for departure Monday February 25th departing Lucerne for Stehikan and Field's Point Landing. My credit card was charged $34.50.I was issued my tickets when my group and I boarded the boat on the 22nd. Assuming I had the correct ones, it wasn't until I went to get on the boat with the group I was traveling with for our return to Field's Point Landing that did I became aware that I had not been sold the correct ticket to get me to Steheikan from Lucerne. Because I was with my party, I had to pay an additional $12.25 to go to Steheikan.
When I called regarding a refund on March 5, 2013, I left a message and did not receive a return call. I called again on April 22nd and spoke with [redacted] who said she would talk with her supervisor about possibly getting me a refund for the !2.25 which I feel I was charged for the error on the part of the boat company as I recall clearly asking for a Stehikan ticket for my return to Field's Point Landing on the 25th of February..
I have since received a letter dated April 23, 2013 stating they are unable to offer a refund at this time due to their obligation to the Washington State Transportation Commission to treat all passengers equally. The letter states that their tariff tickets can only be refunded if presented prior to the travel date! This was not possible due to my receiving the tickets on the initial day of travel, Friday February 22, 2013. I am very unhappy with the service I have received from them. The people collecting tickets were quite rude when I got onto the boat without the proper ticket. They were, however, very willing to collect additional funds from me which I was not expecting to pay. [redacted] WA 98258###-###-####Desired Settlement: see Attached document
