As someone who feels like I dedicated myself and completed the process, I can say that I was highly impressed with the speed that I was able to find work. I went to Lan/Wan to fast track my career because I wasn't getting it done alone. For someone who is out of work, it could even happen faster than it did for me, as I was already employed full time. I have recommended this company to my friends that have expressed interest in increasing their salary. However, I would only recommend it to those that are ready to dedicate themselves with no distractions and ready to work. Within four months I had my CCNA and my CCNP route certs. It's the best investment I've made in myself so far. Not only will did I learn more about networking but also valuable professional skills. I became savvy at job searching, interviewing, and customized resume writing. Most importantly, you should gain new employment within 5 months or less if you stick to the process. They also have a network of members that have progressed in their careers and can recommend new members for employment within their current companies after successfully following the process.

Before I was in this program I was only in operations as a Junior network engineer. When I came across this program I got the hands-on tools needed to be where I am today. Not only did this organization help me get the certifications needed to put on my resume, I also got the tools needed to ace the interview. Even further I received additional hands-on training including on-the-job training to further my IT career and make myself more appealing to all recruiters.... even though I am currently working. I highly recommend this program to those who are serious in pursuing IT as a career and receive the same information I have to get to where I want to be and beyond.

I started with Lan Wan Professional my third month in the US. I'm originally from Burkina Faso (French country). I came in the US with some Networking/System engineering background without Cisco/Juniper experience. My goal was to become a Network Architect. For that reason I found Lan Wan Professionals structure interesting because they will train you with real world hands on, and help to get into a high level job, and you will pay when you are working. It took about 9 months between training and getting a job. I'm now a Senior Network Engineer in an ISP and I didn't take any additional networking or English classes in US Colleges. I picked up the job quickly because their hands-on is accurate and similar to what companies are doing. Comparing to my previous job I'm making 3 times more and that's the beginning. Now I'm preparing an upgrade with Lan Wan Professional and hope that I will work towards a network architect role.

I was working for a school system for the last 6 years as Technical Manager before stumbling upon the LanWan opportunity. I was at a point where I needed a change in my financial situation and needed to grow deeper in my professional and technical skills. After much research and careful consideration, I decided that LanWan Professional is legitimate, so I took them up on their "Test Drive" offer. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of their Hands-on system and the effectiveness of their Efficient Learning philosophy so I went on to become a member. In the next few months, I passed my CCNA and CCNP certifications with the help of their system, and because of their comprehensive job placement process, I eventually accepted a job offer as Network/Systems Engineer in my home state of NC, earning a 6-figure income (which is twice my previous salary) after only 7 months of becoming a member. I have to say the training wasn't easy and involved a rigid time commitment, but it was certainly worth the price. To the right candidate: highly recommended!

I worked as a field technician for two years before contacting LAN/WAN Professional. I was earning $28,000/annum working 50-60hrs/wk and with a family of five children, it was extremely difficult. The hands-on experience I gained through the help of LAN/WAN PRo was more than adequate to equip me for the role I was able to obtain through the placement process. In my current role as a network engineer, I am earning over $80,000/yr. This position was obtained within three months of first contacting the membership organization. With the additional hands-on experience, I am receiving and will receive from LAN/WAN, I will obtain a position making more than $120k within the next three to six months. You know, from the beginning I had doubts and wasn't sure this could be real, however, the fact remains within three months I went from making 28K/yr to $80k/yr. It works, follow the process and do the work the rest will work itself out, it did for me.

LAN/WAN Professional promised that they train people at least 10 to 20 times faster than traditional learning methods and help candidates to get jobs earning $60,000 to $120,000 annually in 2 to 5 months. All the service fees are tied to employment. The candidates will not owe anything before they get a job.
The training includes two parts: remote training and camp training.
The camp training was scheduled to start on Feb. 3, 2018 for 24 days. They asked me to pay the lodge/meals for $1584 ($66 x 24) in advance. They also asked me to pay $995 for security deposit. The total amount is $2579.
After they received my payment, they cancelled my training on Jan. 13, 2018 (including remote training and camp training, which was scheduled to start on 2-3-2018).
They received my payment of $2579 for camp training (lodge/meals and security deposit), but they did not provide the camp training for me. I need to get that money back.

Lan Wan Professional Response • Mar 02, 2018

Mr. is correct in that LAN/WAN Professional is a nationwide membership organization that provides comprehensive professional services to qualified members upfront and allows those members to defer the payment of those services until the member receives upgraded employment on the condition that the member meets all mutually agreed upon conditions. Due to the highly challenging nature of our professional services and to ensure that only qualified applicants who are fully aware of both the opportunity and the conditions, all applicants are required to through an extensive 2 step qualification/test drive process.

Mr. applied for membership on 10/20/2017 and received LAN/WAN Remote Services on 11/3/2017 for 1 full week remotely that was 100% paid by a grant we provided. After 1 week, Mr. qualified and requested to receive 4 more weeks of remote including attend a 4 day camp valued at $3,980 that was also mostly paid by a grant we provided. Both services were designed to allow us to verify Mr.’s background/abilities and for Mr. to fully experience us and THOUROUGHLY understand the commits he needed to make to be successful as a member.

As part of the membership approval, LAN/WAN Professional expressed concern that he may have difficulty applying our efficient learning methodology due to high extensive history in traditional learning including a master’s degree. Mr. assured us that he will be able to learn more efficiently and stated both verbally and in writing that he is fully aware of the service payment deferment conditions and can meet those conditions.

Mr. was approved/accepted our membership services on 12/20/2017. As part of the approval, Mr. provided security deposit of $995 plus prepayment of lodging/meals of $1,584 for a total payment of $2,579. Upon approval, Mr. was given immediate access to $9,485 in initial services that is part of a larger set of services valued at $47,940 after applying credits that also included attending a 2 week camp on 2/3/2017.

The payment of $9,485 in services along with the rest of the services were approved to be deferred until upgraded employment as long as Mr. met mutually agreed upon conditions including staying on schedule and completing all required activities in a timely manner. Mr. became significantly behind schedule due to not applying our services in an efficient manner and was provided multiple warnings. During this period, LAN/WAN Professional provided with various options including access to additional services and delaying his camp attendance as consideration with the promise that he will be more efficient using our services.

On 1/15/2017, LAN/WAN Professional, unfortunately, had to terminate the membership due to Mr. not meeting multiple conditions. At the time of membership termination, Mr. had received $9,485 in services. LAN/WAN Professional applied the deposit and lodging credit to the services balance as specifically stated and mutually agreed upon in writing in our agreements that Mr. signed.

LAN/WAN Professional rarely cancels an applicant once they are approved as a member. This is due to the extensive process we take every applicant through that ensures that both LAN/WAN Professional and the qualified candidate is fully aware of both the opportunity and commitments.

On the rare occasion this occurs, we do our best to minimize costs to both the canceled member and LAN/WAN Professional. As of 1/15/2017. Mr. receive over $14,000 in services that includes the services received as part of the 2 step qualification process and paid $2,579 in services which leaves a balance of approximately, $11,500. As stated previously and to part ways on a positive note, Mr. received grant of approximately $4,000 plus additional credit of $5,000 and was provided with a reduced balance of only $1,956 to part ways for services received valued at over $14,000.

Mr. chose not to accept our offer, but instead has tried to defame us online with misleading/incorrect information. We are very surprised and saddened by this situation. LAN/WAN Professional takes great effort to provide the best professional service possible and is very proud of the services we have provide and will take all necessary legal measure to not only collect on our obligations but also to defend against false and defamatory statements.

With that stated, if Mr. sincerely wants to resolve this in a positive manner, he can contact us as we are fully prepared to work on a positive resolution that includes a significant reduction of his obligations balance so that both parties can move forward in a positive manner.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The agreement clearly states that all the service fees are tied to employment. The candidates will not owe anything before they get a job.

The agreement also states that if the candidates want to cancel the training, they need to provide written request and they need to pay for all the fees. The fact is that I have never cancelled the training on my part. It is LAN/WAN, who cancelled my training. Their decision totally disrupted my career, wasted my months of time, and hurt me directly and indirectly in every fields of my life.
Is there any word in the agreement that states "The candidates have to pay for all the fees, even if it is LAN/WAN's fault"?

According to the agreement, I pre-paid $995 for security deposit and $1584 for lodge/meals for the arranged camp training. They cancelled my training. They did not provide the camp training that I paid for. They should return that money to me immediately.

If they want to resolve this in a positive manner, they should exactly follow the agreement between them and me. If they still want to hold my money for security deposit and lodge/meals for the arranged camp training that they never provided to me, it is hard for me to believe that "their so-called training is not a scam".

By the way, I hope they do not make false accusation. I have never tried to defame them online with misleading/incorrect information. All the information I provided here are facts and based on our agreement. I have already provided Revdex.com a copy of our agreement.

Please note that Mr. had received over a months’ worth of services and even attended a 4 day camp (paid by $4,500 grant) BEFORE he was approved to be a member and committed to the additional services obligations. LAN/WAN Professional does this to ensure that we have thoroughly validated the member's background and abilities and to also allow the prospective member to fully experience our service prior to making any commitments. This allows prospective members such as Mr. to verify the validity of our membership BEFORE he continues forward and makes any commitments. At any time during this period prior to membership approval, Mr. could have cancelled without any consequences.

Upon receipt of the initial services, Mr. who possess 2 master's degree and was working on a Doctorate stated how impressed he was with our service and our ability to help our members acquire real world practical hands-on skills efficiently and proactively requested that we approve him as a member. At the time of membership approval, we expressed strong concern regarding his ability to learn efficiently due to his extensive traditional learning history. He would need to make significant adjust to his learning style that focused on acquiring unnecessary concepts versus practical skills. He stated that he would be able to make the adjustment and Mr. was approved for membership and was given access to approximately $9,500 in initial services.

As part of the agreement condition, Mr. was informed that if he gets behind on his technical activities and/or is not able to be fully prepared for his scheduled camp on 2/3/2018, Mr. will be responsible for deposit penalties, possible rescheduling fee if we needed to reschedule Mr. less than 1 month prior to camp start and additional service obligations if we needed to provide Mr. with additional services. Mr. informed us sometime around 1/12, less than 1 month prior to camp attendance, that the remote schedule was unrealistic and he needed more time. This was due to the fact that Mr. was approaching his technical preparation from a traditional learning perspective and not from a practical efficient learning.

Based on this notification, Mr. would have been responsible for paying for the rescheduling fee along with the deposit penalties as stated in the agreement. As a courtesy based on helping Mr. with his finances, we approved Mr. to receive 1 additional week of camp to extend his 2 week camp to 3 weeks that included a more relaxed scheduled. In addition, we waived the rescheduling fee and fully deferred the payment of the additional week of camp to job offer. Mr. simply needed to pay $595 in deposits and Mr. would have been authorized to continue forward. Mr. did not accept our offer and would not accept his responsibilities for not approaching his preparation efficiently. Based on this, we had no choice but to cancel the relationship since he has not met the conditions of the agreement.

In regards to defamation, Mr. tried to contact other members who were approved around the same time as Mr. and tried to encourage these new members to complain including making statements that were not correct. We became aware of this due to the fact that most of these members have contacted us regarding Mr.’s solicitation. To date, we are not aware of any new members who agrees with Mr. and have not received any cancellations or complaints.

LAN/WAN Professional is disappointed in Mr.’s unprofessional behavior and in hindsight realize that we made a mistake of approving Mr. as a member. For this reason, we are prepared to provide a significant discount of the professional services balance that is approximately $7,000. With that stated, we encourage Mr. to take some responsibility along with acknowledging as he has already received a significant amount of technical services and take the honorable action to resolve his professional services invoice balance or we will need to escalation his file further.

Mr. is correct in that LAN/WAN Professional is a nationwide membership organization that provides comprehensive professional services to qualified members upfront and allows those members to defer the payment of those services until the member receives upgraded employment on the condition that the member meets all mutually agreed upon conditions.

This is a rip-off, a scam. The learning service offered by LAN WAN is “Employment Training” does not prepare you for the Network Engineer position as advertised. I want a full refund: Total spent so far: $6,524.00, not including airfare. I have emails, stack of documentation, recordings that LANWAN Professional instructs/trains everyone to use during all phone conversations and an embellished resume. I have many LANWAN Professional instructing/collaborating where once I followed there instructions, my employer got very mad on two occasions, caused serious problems. I have several where *** is probing for info and then makes intimidating statements, and scared tactics, Oh I forgot, I am told I am not professional when I state truthful facts/questions. Beware!!! There is no Job placement, you cold call, they do offer or not speak or interact with employers, and the so called “efficient Learning” training is questionable and I hope someone looks into these practices.

I was unemployed and looking for network engineering technical training and job placement, I located LANWAN Professional, also known as Global Networks Enterprises & Technologies, at http://www.lanwanprofessional.com/ and was convinced by ***, Director of Member Services, with the CWA/CCNA Grant package valued at $3980.00, but I paid $578 and then $380 for the CWA/CCNA Grant package.

The deficiency in training performance in regards to the services is the so called “real world hands-on focused enterprise LAN/WAN training on that is designed to update/upgrade your LAN/WAN staff skills 10 times faster with minimal time away from work and the Job placement”. I did not learn 10X faster, a gimmick. One the hands on comes without classroom, no Cisco books, no technical lectures, no teaching, and you are in competition getting technical support, if you complain, you are told you are not learning correctly “efficient learning"

Lan Wan Professional Response

LAN/WAN Professional is a nationwide membership organization that helps its members advance in enterprise LAN/WAN through a series of proprietary proven and effective technical and professional services that are designed to help our member attain upgraded employment earning $60,000 to over $150,000 per year.

INVEST $50,000/ALLOWS PAYMENT TIED TO EMPLOYMENT - If approved as a member, we invest up to $50,000 in services in every member and allow those members to defer the payment of those services until they received a job offer.

To ensure that all members meet the qualifications for membership, as well as ensuring that these members are fully educated on the services they are receiving and also the commitments they need to make to be a member and receive the service payment deferment, all prescreened applicants go through a very extensive two step qualification/test drive process that includes; Step 1 – One week of remote LAN/WAN hands-on (paid by $490 grant) and Step 2 – Two week remote & 4 day Camp (Partially Paid By Grant Depending On Performance During Step One).

TWO STEP TEST DRIVE/QUALIFICATION PROCESS - The two step process ensures that all interested applications receive the most extensive access to our service prior to making any commitments and allows LAN/WAN Professional to thoroughly assess an individual prior to approving these members and investing up to $50,000 in services.

The individual was approved for 1 week of remote access on April 1, 2017 that was fully paid by a grant we offered. After completing the 1 week of remote, the individual expressed significant enthusiasm for both the high quality of our service and how much he learned in such a short period of time. Unfortunately, the individual did not perform well during this step and we recommended that he does not move forward as we felt our service was not an ideal match for this member.

In spite of our recommendation, the individual stated that his performance during the 1 week did not properly represent his actual abilities and proactively requested that we reconsider him to continue forward. With hesitation, we approved this member for a partial grant of $3,100 to receive additional remote including attending a 4 day camp valued at $3,980 on May 13, 2017. The individual paid $880 after applying the grant for a service valued at $3,980. To further ensure that the individual knew what he was getting into, we approved the individual for additional services through a special membership that include additional services that lasted through September of 2017.

By September, the individual had received over 300 hours in technical services including personally meeting our staff at the 4 day camp. Based on the significant amount of services received to date including personally visiting us in California and meeting our staff, the member should have been fully aware of what we provide and the level and quality of our service. If the member had any doubts to date, he could have not continued forward and the member would not be responsible for any future obligations. In fact, LAN/WAN Professional respectfully recommended that the member DO NOT continue forward to become a member.

APPROVED BASED ON MEMBER REQUEST/COMMITMENT - Throughout this period, individual expressed great appreciation for the services he received to date and stated with strong enthusiasm how much he learned and benefited from the services he received. Based on his very positive experience he requested to be allowed to continue forward.

Unfortunately, the individual did not perform well during the 4 day camp and during the remote. In addition, the individual demonstrated negative behavior in regards to handling failure including blaming others for not performing well. This negative behavior is a significant red flag and LAN/WAN Professional normally would not approve a member who displays this behavior. With that stated the individual, though unemployed, had over 20 years of IT work experience that reflected a high amount of transferable skills to enterprise LAN/WAN. In addition, the individual apologized for his interpersonal mishandling and low performance and stated that much of his negative reaction was due to the stress of being unemployed and he will work to handle things better and also perform better in learning the LAN/WAN skills.

Our concern was that the journey to getting upgraded employment in LAN/WAN required an intensive amount of effort from the individual including acquiring a significant amount of LAN/WAN skills including properly following our proprietary methodology and approach for both technical development and timely employment. In addition, it was important that the individual had a positive and professional attitude/perspective throughout the process. Finally, we were also concerned as to whether the individual would follow through on his financial obligations with us if we helped him during this difficult period in his life.

With great concern/hesitation, LAN/WAN Professional approved the individual for membership based the individual’s repeated and seemingly sincere commitment to follow through on his commitments. Upon approval, the member received a significant amount of services including attending an extended camp in California that ended on September, 16, 2017.

RECEIVED JOB OFFER WITHIN 10 DAYS OF CAMP COMPLETION - Upon camp completion, the goal was for the member to acquire a mid-level LAN/WAN position earning $80,000 to $120,000 per year within 2 to 8 weeks of camp completion. Unfortunately, the member only partially followed through on this promise. In addition, the member’s attitude/perspective was not the most positive. In spite of this, the member received a job offer for a senior LAN/WAN position earning $150,000 per year on September 26, 2017 just 10 days after leaving camp. It was our understanding that this member had not had proper and steady employment for over 2 years. In addition, the $150,000 per year was significantly more than this individual had ever earned. Based on all these factors, we would consider this a success.

As happy as we were for the member, our concern was that the member may have difficulty handling this role based on his low technical performance to date. With that stated, the individual did have over 20 years of general IT work experience. To ensure that the member had a chance for success, we provided significant amount of help in both preparing him for this role and also supporting him during the initial month of employment. In addition, we even deferred the payments for services received that begins upon job offer/start to further help the member.

During the initial few weeks of employment, the individual struggled both technically and professionally. For this reason, LAN/WAN Professional spent significant amount of time mentoring and supporting the member prior to job start and during the initial few weeks of employment. For these reasons, the member seemed to have overcome these issues and transitioning to be functional in his new role. Unfortunately, LAN/WAN Professional was notified by the individual that he unilaterally quit his job due to interpersonal reasons on or about November 1, 2017.

It is our understanding that he was not fired, but UNILATERALLY QUIT with no notification to his employer or us. In fact, it is our understanding that the notification to the employer was on the day he quit and the individual did not notify us until almost 4 days after the member quit his job. In addition, we have not been able to talk to the individual even after many attempts of contact via phone and email.

LAN/WAN PROFESSIONAL PROVIDED PROPER SERVICES TO DATE - To date, LAN/WAN Professional provided proper services to date. This is demonstrated throughout the many months of engagement with the members that culminated in the member attaining timely employment.

The amount of services received to date is $43,545 in services after applying initial payments made by member and credit for services not fully received. This is verified by multiple documents signed by the individual at varying stages of the relationship process. This includes documents signed at the time of membership approval before service was received AND after service was provided AND a final monthly payment confirmation form that was signed on 9/26 upon job offer receipt by the member.

LAN/WAN Professional desires to part ways on a positive note and will provide positive options to allow the individual to resolve his obligations with us. This has been told to the member in writing on multiple occasions during the past few weeks. If the member does not work on an agreement with us by Friday, 11/2, we will, unfortunately, need to escalate the individuals file to collection. Escalation of a file to collections is never positive for either parties. For this reason, we hope that we can avoid this and resolve this in a mutually positive manner.”

Customer Response

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

LANWAN Professional advised me during job consultations to tell my employer there is no "OSPF area 0" in the backbone design and how to illustrate a "physical diagrams", "employer stated unacceptable" This is a reflection of Job counseling sessions and upset employer twice.

This advice during some of our sessions made employer anger regarding area 0 statements and then again when I turned in diagram is what caused the loss of employment. I followed there instructions, employer got upset on two occasions, caused serious problems. I lost the job because of these issues.

All I ever wanted was the CWA/CCNA/CCNP training and to get my certifications. I never once asked for additional packages, they were recommended and I trusted *** opinion. I did asked for job placement help and I was told I must come to camp for that so another agreement was created

These agreements are used to obligate individuals into large financial responsibilities. Someone needs to review this financials obligation and how it coincides with the job training, and job placement. The Job Training/placement is a directly reflection of how well a individual do on the job. On a final note my resume was rewrote by LANWAN Professional and that is really what got the employers attention. Everyone in my class took issues with it, not just me.

Lan Wan Professional Response

As stated previously, LAN/WAN Professional has one of the most extensive vetting process for becoming a member of our organization, including receiving 100 to over 150 hours of services over a period of 1 to 2 months BEFORE becoming a member and BEFORE signing any significant agreements that obligates these members. This is to ensure that all new members are fully aware of both the positive benefits of membership and also the deferred obligations, requirements and sacrifices that are necessary to be a successful member.

The individual who is posting this complaint received additional services totaling over 300 hours over a period of over 3 months BEFORE signing the current agreement. This is due to our concern regarding both the individual’s technical aptitude and professional approach/perspective, including how the individual handles interpersonal conflicts in professional situations. In addition, we had concerns as to whether this individual would follow through on his obligations to us. Based on all these significant concerns, our initial decision was to not approve the individual for membership.

With that stated, the individual made repeated statements of how much he appreciates the services he received to date and his positive statements regarding the high quality of our services. Finally, the individual was very tenacious requesting to become a member. Based on this we approved the individual for membership with significant reservations.

To date, the member has received $43,545 in services after applying initial payments. This is validated by at least three separate agreements including (1) a document that was signed prior to receiving the services, (2) second document signed during the course of receiving the services and a (3) final document that was signed after receiving the services and a LAN/WAN job. At no time during this period did the individual questioned whether he received the services and the quality of our services.

Finally, the individual quit his job without notification to both his employer and LAN/WAN Professional. This last action alone is unprofessional behavior and is not something that any member of our organization would do. LAN/WAN Professional states that we provided quality services that his beyond what was expected and respectfully hopes that the individual posting this complaint will now fulfill his obligations to us.
